Lovely pub, have visited on a few occasions Unfortunately, the food was just “ok”. When you are paying nearly £20 for a pie that is on the specials board, it needs to be good. The battered fish was average and the burger had little flavour. The desserts were a let down also. The owner did mention that her daughter, who is the chef, was away that evening. I personally think the food did not match the price tag.

We chose Milecastle Inn as a place to hold a family event. It was the perfect place to choose! The pub room was incredibly cosy and the staff could not have been more welcoming. They created a special place for just us which worked incredibly well. The buffet which they provided was very good value for money and extremely tasty. We recommend the pub, staff, atmosphere and food 💯. Thank you everyone at the Milecastle Inn for making our day so special!

Excellent food and service. I have eaten here three times recently and have enjoyed every visit. It is my destination of choice in the area! The inn is well maintained with glorious views of Hadrian’s Wall. There is a convenient bus stop near by for travellers using that means for visiting various points along the wall. I will be calling there regularly because of the consistently excellent food, beer and service and because dogs are not allowed in the building. Vegetarian and vegan options are on the menu.

We were staying at the Bridge House a couple hundred yards of way, so we ate here twice and enjoyed both meals very much. The menu is small, but broad in its selection and the food is top notch. The place is very cozy, and the staff is warm and helpful. I was boring and had a hamburger the first night, but it was a great burger, as was the fish & chips I had the next night. The deserts were excellent. Of the two IPAs I had, I preferred the Prince Bishop, but the Sunny Days was good too.

On a grey February Wednesday lunchtime, this remote pub was doing a healthy trade. Deservedly so, given the welcoming open fire, cosy rooms, excellent happy staff, no music, choice of real ales and good food. So nice to come across a pub on such good form, proudly family run.

Would highly recommend this cosy little pub restaurant. We were staying up the hill and ventured down with our little one for some food. We called ahead to book and check it was ok for a high chair for our one year old. They were so accommodating and made us feel so welcome. It was really cosy with the fire and we had plenty of space with the toddler too! The food was so delicious, looking at the photos before definitely does not do it justice. Our toddler ate a whole portion of the soup too as it was so good - so toddler approved too!

We visited this little pub a few times for dinner whilst staying at Hadrian's Wall campsite only a mile away. Despite stormy weather it was an amusing yet exhilarating walk along a VERY Roman road to get to this place. The pub is small but very cosy with open fires. As we were here over the Winter Solstice it felt very festive with the fires lit. The staff were very friendly and the decor of the little rooms was pleasant with a table with the Sycamore (now sadly felled) at Sycamore Gap printed on it. There was a statue of a Roman Soldier standing on a window ledge. We ate here twice and the food was homemade, reasonably priced, hot and delicious...hand cut chips!! I had the salmon one night on a bed of crushed potatoes and it was a simply excellent meal. Really impressed with the food, service, atmosphere, and the location cannot be beaten. We will be back, although I can imagine it gets horrendously busy in Summer.

Stopped in for breakfast on the way to do a walk at Kielder. Loved the place. Fantastic , well cooked , quality breakfast. Decent size and good value at £10.50 including toast and a brew. Couldn’t fault the food. One of the best breakfasts we’ve had. Ticked all the boxes for us. Dog friendly. Liked Falstone so much did a walk from there instead of Kielder and came back to the Old School for dessert. Bread and Butter pudding with cream or custard ! Although I was tempted by the Old School sponge. Thank you for a lovely experience

Fantastic!! Service, food and value, 6 of us all had different meals. All served together piping hot, huge quantities and absolutely gorgeous. Couldn't manage a pudding but they looked fabulous too.

We've just been to the Greggs at Marygate and we were served by the most lovely, welcoming and experienced staff ever, Anne went far and beyond what could ever have anticipated and we will certainly be back again and again. Cheers for great time at Greggs ❤️

I don't know what I was expecting from this pub/hotel. My expecting were wode open as for my liking the pricing was on the lower end that I would pay to stay somewhere. However this place was outstanding value for money my room was spacious with a great large shower and many modern features. The room was exceptionally clean and well presented. The bed was do soft and made it so hard forme to get up or what to get up. I had food in the pub as thought to myself that maybe I had just got lucky with the room however once again the small cosy pub with it log fire was great. The food was brilliant well presented and tasted amazing. I honestly would definitely recommend and go back to the blue bell all in all it was a 10 out of 10 for me.
