Mikes Kitchen in Mendip

Good food/ reasonable price . Good delivery time. Promised 45min came in 30. Thoroughly enjoyed meal definitely ordering again.

We hadn't long returned from our holiday and didn't want to cook anything. I went on the local Chinese takeaway website and found Mike's Kitchen was open on Mondays...Hooray!! Both of our meals..chicken with cashews, prawn toast and chicken chow mein were absolutely delicious. Looking forward to using Mike's again Thank you 🤩

Attended 21/01/23 for family takeaway Chicken balls with sweet & sour sauce, chicken curry, egg fried rice,vegetable chow mein. Faultless service, great value for money and excellent food. Highly recommended 👌

We stayed at the Premier Inn Frome hotel after a visit to Longleat and all the usual food ordering apps didn't have a Chinese takeaway. Mike's Kitchen was rated very highly on Trip Advisor and so we called them and they delivered locally. We really like the menu - the usual Chinese takeaway items are on there but they even have some Dim Sum items which pleased our daughter. The only slight downside is that they are very busy - even on a Sunday night and so take their delivery times with a pinch of salt. They quoted 45 mins and they are less than 10 mins down the road, but they were over an hour. This is fine as the food delivered was hot but I'd rather they said it would take an hour so that I wasn't pondering whether to call them for an update. Great food delivered hot by a friendly driver.

On holiday in Frome and mike's kitchen was recommended to us. Lovely food,big portions and the delivery man was friendly.

Placed my order at 1915 on the app it mentioned estimate delivery at 2000 I was fine with that I have to get up at 4 ready for work. I dint receive my order so I called at 2010 I was told would get it deliver in 15 min still I didnt receive my order me and my wife kept calling 26 times mikes kitchen but no one bothered to answer the call, finally I received my order at 2115 cold and not up to quality of the food. That is the last time I am ordering from Mike's kitchen.

Couldn't be bothered to cook after a busy afternoon, so ordered from Mikes's Kirchen via the app. Order placed at 17:50 with an estimated 40 minute delivery time. We were so surprised to have it delivered at 18:05, how do they do that 😮. Food was excellent and the chips were perfect. Thank you

Definitely the best chinese food in frome, doesn't over salt or season food so you don't wake up in the night needing to drink 4 pints of water. Flavour good, rice not sticky, noodles not sticky, etc. The downside is that the delivery service is quite bad. Three deliveries, all minimum of 20minutes late, and food cooling by the time it arrived. Would hapilly pay a little more for a better delivery, it does let the restaurant down.

Ordered a Chinese takeaway from here and was met with great service, friendly staff and good food. I will definitely order from here again!

Nothing special, over priced but flavour wise not too bad. Wouldn't eat any other chinese takeaway in Frome because they are terrible so this is the only one I order from.

Bought a duck with plum sauce, rice and dim sum. Plum sauce had absolutely no plum or colour/texture in it. It was gloopy, transparent and cheaply made. Everything comes in plastic containers not aluminium foil like a lot of places. Not an environmentally friendly company. I asked him if he would consider foil packaging. He said “no". Dim sum served on an old brown tired looking lettuce leaf.

The dishes were ok but with a few tweaks could be a lot better (in my opinion). Just a few examples the pak choy was overcooked and the tofu over fried. The salt and pepper ribs used barbeque ribs which was a bit disappointing but maybe that's how the regulars like it. The soup was also very thick to the point that it was gloopy. I would use again if I was in the vicinity if only to see if my experience was a one off.

Had a most amazing meal from here last night, a real surprise and unforgettable! An excellent menu, such choice and the food was hot and very fresh. Definitely glad we tried them as will be going back again :) and again!

The best Thia green curry I have ever had. I was taken by surprise as is our first visit because we don't eat takeaway very often. All of the food was to a high standard. Absolutely lovely and will definitely be back.

We ordered a takeaway as a rare family treat. We have young children so placed our order at 6pm and was assured it would take 45 minutes to an hour to arrive. The woman on the phone specifically stated it would "definitely be no more than an hour". After 1 hour and 20 minutes we called to enquire where our food was. We were told it would be with us in another 10 minutes. After 15 minutes (so 1 hour 45 from odering) we called again, the woman on the phone was very aggressive and asked why we were calling back so soon, offered no apology for the delay and said she had no idea where our food was and that they had a "slow driver". My husband asked whether our food would be hot, if the driver was so 'slow' and was patronisingly told they use insulated bags to transport it. Hardly the point! At this point our children were hungry and overtired and my husband requested to just cancel the order so we could quickly feed them and put them to bed, as no one seemed to know how much longer the wait would be. He was informed that it is apparently "not possible" to refund a credit card payment and that if we wanted a refund we would have to go to Mike's in person and receive it in cash. Of course, we all know it is perfectly possible to refund to a credit card, we were clearly being fobbed off. The food eventually arrived over 2 hours after ordering. At no point did anyone apologise for this significan delay, offer any explanation, give any assurances as to how long exactly the food would take to arrive or in fact offer any customer service at all. Instead we were treated as a nuisance throughout all exchanges and repeatedly talked to in a patronising manner. We would have been far more accepting of a delay if it appeared that anyone cared in the slightest but the whole attitude seemed to be that they had our money and had no intention of giving it back and so we would all have to wait however long it took. We have ordered from Mike's Kitchen before, albeit infrequently, and have always previously been impressed with both the food and customer service. But after today it is safe to say we will NEVER order from them again, and will advise others to steer clear.

My wife and I have regularly used this takeaway and the quality had always been pretty good. The last few times we have been, it has not been up to scratch and this weekend have both gone down with food poisoning following our visit. Plenty of choice in Frome. Won’t use again and wouldn’t recommend.

Had our food delivered from Mike’s for several years now. Never a complaint, great food every time and a good delivery service.

I had a takeaway from here last week I have heard bad reviews from here but wanted to see for myself Glad I ignored it all as had a fantastic meal and not badly priced either Will be ordering again especially as you deliver too

We order from Mikes kitchen nearly every week - BEST chinese in Frome. Delivery to our door is always quick and prompt, always arrive at our door with massive portions and if you haven't tried it before the mushroom fried rice is absolutely amazing. 5 STARS

While staying at Paddington Cottage on Nunney we ordered from Mike's kitchen. Food arrived exactly when they said it would, it was lovely and hot and more importantly it was abso delicious! We're very fussy with Chinese but have to say this was superb!! Thanks Mike's kitchen we were very impressed!!

We ordered on a Sunday about 5.40, within 10 minutes our order was ready to collect.It was lovely. The chips were good too.Sweet and sour chicken balls had lots of chicken in them and weren't greasy unlike other places we've had take out from.Would recommend and use again.

This place is my guilty pleasure , I'm eating my stuff now . One phone call and there always friendly and helpful, if they say say 30 mins it will be and the food is always superb. Never been let down by them ever

just wanted a takeaway on a monday evening and Mikes Kitchen fitted the bill. Great choice and catered for gluten free people

This place is cheaper than other chinese takeaways in the area which gives is the edge at times and their delivery service is always the quickest - sometimes the food does appear microwaved but still yum nevertheless

I have been here 2 or 3 times for a take away and every time I have had to wait for my order to be completed, which is OK I suppose if it is freshly prepared, but I have been disappointed in the quality of the finished product.

My partner and I always choose here for our Chinese take away, we have never had a bad meal, always great for food.

Mikes Kitchen consistently deliver a prompt service with well cooked well flavoured food, the menu is nicely varie so there is something for every one.

Been in here about three times from time been open , Try sweet and sour chicken balls with chips and Mrs had sweet and sour chicken hong kong style .Mine will say the chicken balls had lot fat in it ,chicken did not taste right and some chips taste like been cook day before and you get small pot of sauce go with it as other place been too get big pot sauce .
