Michael's Chinese Takeaway in Northumberland

I’ve used this Chinese for many years and despite people’s negative comments I’ve continued to use it. Yes, you sometimes get the occasion where it isn’t as nice as usual, as with all places. However, tonight it was very disappointing. The meat tasted really cheap, made me wonder had they changed their supplier. One of my prawns was a bit mushy so had to spit it out. The curry sauce didn’t taste as nice either. Will just give this place a miss for a while and hope it improves as this has put me off a bit.

Ordered king prawn balls cantonese sauce and egg fried rice egg fried rice had no egg in it king prawn balls hard as nails and tasteless cantonese sauce was disgusting not what it was meant to be at all . STAY AWAY WASTE OF MONEY.

Ordered from Michael's Chinese Tonight! Never again! I am very disappointed with the customer service I received from your company. I ordered Crispy chilli beef, chicken in black bean sauce, special fried rice, sweet and sour chicken balls, and special fried rice. The food was delivered promptly, but it was not what I expected. The Crispy chilli beef was swimming in sauce, and everything else was too salty. I have been a chef for over 30 years, and I know what good food tastes like. I am not sure if your company is intimidated by the fact that I run a Caribbean food company, but there is a difference between seasoning food to taste and making it too salty. I called your company to complain, and I asked if you could come and collect the food and refund me. I was told that you would not do this because "that's the way we cook our food." I am very disappointed with this response. I am a paying customer, and I expect to receive food that is cooked to my liking. I will not be ordering from your company again, and I will be sure to tell my friends and family about my experience. I would like to request a refund for the food that I ordered. I would also like an apology from your company for the poor customer service that I received. I believe that your company should take steps to improve its customer service so that other customers do not have the same experience that I did. Thank you for your time.

Michael's opens at 5pm, so I called at 5pm and the phone was answered promptly. I ordered orange chicken with fried rice, a portion of chios, and chicken and sweetcorn soup to be delivered, as I was too busy to go and pick it up (we live a 15 minute walk or 5 minute drive, and I don't drive). At 6pm, our food still hadn't arrived, so I called them to ask when we could expect it. They answered promptly, but I was advised the food would be another 10-20 minutes. The food finally arrived at 6.20pm a full 80 minutes after I'd ordered it. I could have gone to the shop, bought the ingredients, come home, made it from scratch, and eaten it in the time it took to get here! Not being funny, but there's no excuse for it to take THAT long to make and deliver the food, especially given that we must have been one of the first (of not THE first) orders of the evening, and it's a Wednesday night, so not exactly the weekend rush! When I spoke to the delivery guy about it, he told me he only started working at 6.15pm - something I was NOT told when ordering. As it was, by the time the food arrived, I didn't have time to eat it, as I had to leave at 6.30pm. It's decent enough food, but it's definitely NOT worth the wait, and they should make customers aware how long they will have to wait for delivery when they place their order.

Really salty food dont know if its in the curry or just salted the beef but wont be going back, and expensive.

Second really disappointing experience from Michaels, last night the messed up the order after id picked it up and got home I rang them to let them know and they wouldn't deliver even thought it was there mistake to correct the order as we are out there delivery zone, so I have to drive back to get a refund, the week before we got burnt omelettes that tasted of fish, terrible customer service and breach of several food hygiene codes, allergies and cross contamination. will not be going back ever and would advise you avoid

We visited Michael's resturant when we were on holiday recently.and met up with friends at Michael's. The food was outstanding such a selection,all cooked to perfection.would highly recommend it to lovers of Asians cuisine.

When i went to this takeaway i went in expecting just a quick decent meal. When i left i realised i was dead wrong. It was amazingly delicious. Even the service was amazing it was very very quick

It was positively scrumptious. Absolutely scrumptious I would say indeed. Delicious food, great service and also great value for money.

Micheal’s is a brilliant Chinese takeaway! Every time I’m up from the midlands visiting family I always go to Micheal’s and always order an extra king prawn curry to take back down south! They’ve been brilliant for years.

Me and my friends have been here a few times for food and it's usually good but no so much tonight. The chips were overcooked and dry and the chicken chow mein was awful - the chicken and noodles were soggy and tasteless and the sauce was more like a weak gravy than a chow mein sauce and the whole thing was far too salty. The prawn crackers were quite nice and the service was friendly but overall I wouldn't rush back.

I live just up the road and this take away is very good the meals are a quick at coming out good price for what you pay

Tried many take away in Blyth and surrounding areas but allays head back to Michael's got to say best in the area food always very goood

This takeaway has an excellent choice of meals, and whatever you choose it will not disappoint. Well worth a visit.

We arrived hungry on Friday night and after settling in with family we decided to order Chinese food from the very local takeaway restaurant Once ordered for five people it was collected 15 minutes later My choice was prawn ginger and spring onion with boiled rice it was fantastic in looks and taste as we're all the other meals We would definitely order here again

Disappointed with special fried rice which was a bit stodgy and very little content. Meat was dry and burnt edges with only 3 prawns. Chips were good but that's not why we went

We've been going to michael's for years. Friendly, very nice. Food is very good, house special rice, chips and gravy and chow mein all good, also recommend green pepper and blackbean sauce. Chicken very nice. Lots of prawn crackers. Very nice delivery driver.

Having seen reviews of this on Google being in the area my family and I decided to pop in for evening meal. When my son came back to the car asking for more cash I should of realised. She brought the food after a lengthy wait and then she brought the menu.
