Staying near Hexham on holiday so this was our first time using Indus valley and I have to say it was absolutely beautiful. Piping hot and both meals packed with top quality well cooked meat, very generous portions too. I really couldn't fault it

Brilliant kebabs, indian pizzas, good currys, used for years, top grub. One of the best in hexham👍 give it a shot, you won't be disappointed

Got home , opened up the food . Found several hairs in my kebab . Food did not taste great at all . Very disappointed in this .

We stumbled upon the Indus Valley takeaway when visiting the splendid Platform bar at Hexham railway station. Although they have a comprehensive range of Indian food, burgers and pizzas we decided to try one of their “Indian Pizza” and I must say that our “Chef’s Special” was very tasty. Good service and reasonably priced - we would happily use it again.

I wasn’t happy with the service on Friday 1st December I ordered my meal before 5pm for 6.10pm and don’t leave until 6.50pm. That was a 40 minute wait and only 1 apology I was then told that the clock had stopped in the kitchen! That’s why everything was 45 minutes behind! I wasn’t offered any discount or any complimentary food by ways of an apology it’s just not good enough! The lamb started was tough and inedible! Overall an unacceptable experience

This takeaway establishment is at Hexham's magnificent railway station with its excelleng Northern Trains to Csrlisle and Newcastle. My chicken, sweetcorn and pineapple pizza was delicious and well worth the long waitjng time. At GBP8.20 including a can of Coke, the 10 inch size was goox value. I could not finish the pizza.

Great that you can order on line pay for it and then just collect. It's a very very busy takeaway. Staff are friendly food excellent

I have tried all the restaurants and takeaways in the Hexham Corbridge area and have found the Indus Valley to be the stand out Indian food in the area. Fresh consistent not to oily generous portions quality ingredients.

Have t had a curry for ages, long set of shifts, thought I’d treat myself on my day off. Ordered a lamb dansak. Drove nearly 20 miles to collect it. Got home, it was a lamb dupiaza. I hate onions. Thanks for ruining my meal. I even ordered it online so the order was right in front of you on the screen. Won’t return.

bhaji and chips NOT FRESH, other food barely average. Nearly 50 quid peed away. Really not good quality

Ordered 2 meals for delivery to my hotel...which was only a couple of minutes up the road. Took over an hour & a half to arrive. Rice was going cold but the 2 curries were warm and tasty. Wouldn't recommend for delivery.

We ordered a takeaway after a train journey. I can say I have never ever had such a bad meal. The starters were like tasteless overcooked rubber (onion bhaji and vegetable pakora). My Bhuna Prawn on puri had the puri in a plastic bag within the bhuna prawn curry, absolutely gross, especially when I had reheated in the oven before opening! The rice was fine and a chicken curry just about passable. Safe to say we will not be tempted to get anything here again even though the service was good! Nil points from us so sorry to have to leave a bad review.

Its a very popular takeaway. I ordered Jalfrezi with garlic Nan bread and it was head and shoulders above anything down the south of england. The price was reasonable and i did not have to wait long. The indian restaurants in hexham are better than anything down south

Ordered a meal fo delivery @ 4.30 , at 7.30 rang to see were it was , to be informed that they have no delivery drivers ! Shocking service won’t be going back , oh and they cannot refund a card payment , fingers crossed they bring it to my home address tomorrow 😡😡😡😡

I was going to order a take away tonight and tried ringing a few times , when I got through and ordered my meal the man told me about the length of time I was going to have to wait , it was over an hour and 15 mins , I cancelled my order as this was going to be too long for me but well done for being honest and not having people waiting so much longer than they expected , great customer service and I didn’t buy anything !

We have used the Indus for several years. The food is first class fresh great flavours and generous portions and reasonably priced. The staff are very pleasant and helpful I have no hesitation in recommending them.

Ordered my pizza from Indus at 17.37, they told me there would be a wait of an hour and 20 mins, but then after hearing a voice in the background changed it and said an hour or maybe even less, brilliant i've been at work can't be bothered cooking and really hungry. So it's now 19.50 so I rang to see if it was on its way, they told me that the delivery car had broken down which is fine, but they then said they had tried three times to get in touch to tell me and were waiting for me to ring them, so I'd asked what number they had and it was the right one, the guy said he was trying the number again (while I was still on the phone!!!!) and still couldn't get through. Then they said it would be another hour because they hadn't started it yet. Basically my order must have got lost and not been done which no can understand cause they must have been busy, but instead of saying sorry and apologising for their mistake, they decided to blame me for giving a "wrong number" and never even said sorry until I brought it up. Not happy and not a way to treat returning customers Indus valley. Also considering takeaway is as expensive as it is aswell i am fuming!!!!!

Excellent takeaway service, indian meals up to usual high standard and a boost to Saturday evenings. This is a takeaway service that has quickly responded to lockdown living and it has really helped brighten our Saturdays.

Best indian takeaway in Hexham. Convenient parking. Good food, not too greasy. You can have a drink in the Station bar while you wait for your food.

Few things went wrong.Ordered food and it arrived with items missing, rang to explain and was told driver was out but would return, never did. Food was cold and meat was hard and over cooked and to be honest bland. This is the second time this has happened, after the first give the benefit but will not be using them again.

Had the nawab Khan- described as they most complex of curries, highly recommended by the chef. If that was complex give me simple any day. Watery sauce lacking anything resembling flavour accompanied by overcooked prawns. A wishy washy curry distinguished only by its mediocrity.

The worse calzone pizza I’ve ever had, greasy and tasteless, well apart from green bell pepper which was all I could taste. Will not use them again this side of the apocalypse

This was our 2nd recent take away only to discover something was missing from our order again although we have been charged for it. Contacted Indus Valley and they were most unhelpful saying we would have to collect the missing item. Very unhappy with the service.

My second pizza from here - the Spicy Garlic pizza (with extra chilli and garlic) was packed with flavour, biting into the small pieces of chopped green chilli produced an explosion of heat, just how it should be. Add to that the plentiful toppings, onions and peppers still with a bit of bite to them, creamy stringy cheese and a perfectly cooked thin base, and you have a perfect pizza.Speaking of perfect things, the chips are the best chips you will EVER eat. I thought it was a fluke the first time I had them, but last night they were equally as good.Not cheap, it cost £12 for a pizza with chips, but I'm more than happy to pay £12 for such high quality food

Was going to go to Acomb Tandoori but thought we would try Indus. It was OK. Think it's missing some chilli flavour as both the vegetable bhuna and aloo saag were bland. Would have been nice otherwise.

Struggling to find a decent takeaway pizza in Hexham, I thought I'd try here even though I've had some pretty ropey pizzas from Indian takeaways in the past.That wasn't the case here - the pizza was excellent and the chips were the best chips I've had in a very long time.There's a vast selection of pizzas to choose from and mine was very tasty, albeit not as "Explosive" as the name had suggested.I'll definitely be going back.

Decided to have a change and try their pizzas. So much to choose from and very competitively priced.

Used this place several times and up till now it has been very good. On this visit however both starters were poor (Onion Bahji's and Chicken Tikka) the former was solid and heavy, the latter was tough.

We booked a takeaway delivery about 6.30 this evening for a delivery at 8.00. They take your address, contact telephone number........ well it’s now 9.45 and we are still waiting. Had they valued their customers they could have contacted us to explain the lateness of our delivery! I know I could have phoned them but why? It’s not going to turn up and I now don’t want it now and never again.

We had another excellent home delivery from Indus Valley this evening. Totally flexible on making things vegan because it’s all freshly cooked.

Waited two hours for a takeaway that was due ‘within half an hour’. Incredibly rude staff who got very hostile. Couldn’t believe it!

We had a take away. We used the on line menu and chose food that we couldn't find on the paper menu we subsequently picked up. I think they would accommodate whatever you wanted. I chose the chicken kebab with nan - which turned out to be lots of lovely char grilled chicken with salad and a big nicely cooked nan bread. The sauce on the side wasn't to my taste but that didn't detract from the beautifully cooked meal. Would highly recommend.

Thought we would give Indus Valley a try and we most certainly weren't disappointed. The selection of curries available to choose from is superb. We ordered 5 main dishes, each one was very different and very tasty. There was a good amount of meat in the sauces. The rice was nice and well cooked. We had a Peshwari, Keema, and Garlic nan which all were very nice.

Only wish I’d read the reviews before ordering!!! Chewy popadoms, the chx tikka masala was EXTREMELY red, very sweet but with little other flavour, peshwari naan had no filling,& the other curries ordered were very bland with little spice or flavour and again very sweet. Really disappointed as we spent nearly £70 ! Would definitely NOT use again.

We are regulars at Indus Valley, used to love their pizzas. Tonight, just like last Friday, the pizzas were disgusting!! Messy, and the taste was worse. Never going back!

Much much better curry houses in Hexham. If you want a take away use Acomb Tandoori. Food overpriced and average. Won’t be back.

Having written a review regarding missing food not long ago the manager was very careful to repeat back to me my order over the phone.

Absolutely disgusting butter chicken. It was like lentil soup and had no flavour and smelt weird. Family complained and we got a condescending and scathing answer with no responsibility taken. We won’t be back.

It went from once a month to once a week takeaway, great value for money, lovely big portions, I love the vegetable Korma I'm addicted to it and I eat meat but it's so yummy!

I have used the Indus Valley since it opened and the food is generally of a good standard but I have been let down so many times with missing items often on large family occasions. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

Just had a Sunday night takeaway -we usually have a Sat night one. The food is always good but tonight's was especially good -spicy creamy and really delicious The delivery man is lovely too !

Indus Valley takeaway is great, but the trouble is the delivery man says he never has change and I honestly feel like he wants us to give in and just give him £20 when the order was £17 it's a bit cheeky...they only accept cash for deliverys, but never have change... It's every single time.

Indus Valley is one of the highest quality takeaways I have been to the currys are better than most Indian restaurants I have been too. Being my favourite takeaways I have tried a considerable number of dishes from the menu and it's safe to say I have never been disappointed. The staff are also lovely, the service isn't the quickest when you pre order however you don't mind at all once you've tasted the quality of the food. I highly recommend; BBQ chicken pizza, chicken tikka pizza and the spicy chips.

Pobre calidad de pollo en lo que solía ser una comida para llevar muy buena ahora. Nos ha decepcionado en los últimos tiempos y vaya a Saathis ahora en vez ya que la calidad es mejor. Aquí es obviamente el pollo barato, ya que es muy fibroso. Decepcionante porque solía ser genial.

Conseguir llevar a este regularmente lugar y la comida ha sido muy buena. Normalmente tienen algo del menú, pero sus pizzas al curry son también ACEPTABLES.

We ordered an Indian takeaway for two, which was delivered several miles away hot and free of charge for the delivery. The Byrianni and Passanda were delicious and above the usual standard. Highly recommended. Good value.

I don't know we're these bad reviews have come from, I have been going here for last two years, and have tried different dishes across the board, always nice and still hot, and live 20 mins away. Spicy kebabs are really good, curry pizzas are totally different to anywhere else, and good curry's, the naga rage is a favourite, they use Bangladesh chillies, not for the faint hearted.

I've ordered from here three times and three times a meal that they describe as vegetarian has had meat in it.The first two times I thought it was bad luck - it was a curry pizza. The third time was a vegetarian curry and that's when I reported them to Food Hygiene.

Called in for a takeaway and I will never ever go back.It was disgusting.Onion baggi was like balls of straw with it being so over cooked it was all but burnt.Mint sauce was off.We shod of taken every thing back as the curry was just as bad.If they continue to serve slop they won't last long.

Best Indian takeaway by far, and spicy kebabs to die for! Puts other kebabs in Hexham to shame, not the usual greasy rubbish, would highly recommend.

We have a caravan in Hexham and often order from indus. All food is excellent but I tend to go for the tandoori dry king prawns and they are the best I've ever had. Can highly recommend

Purchased 2 entirely different meals, but found them both to be absolutely terrible and almost inedible. The chicken had the taste and consistency of thick shoe leather, the rice was far too dry, and the nan was stodgy. Overall probably the worst Indian takeaway we have ever experienced. We will not be back.

Worst Customer Service I have ever come across.Rang our food order in, told it would be an hour for delivery, said we would pick up if we could get it quicker but they said it wouldn't make any difference. 1 hour and 30 minutes later, very hungry and upset at how late it was, rang takeaway to find out where our delivery was. To be told the driver left 30minutes ago! (guy on the phone had assured us it would still be hot as we had reservations with the time waited).Arrived 5 minutes later, paid for then only to open the food and find it was stone cold and very greasy (it was recommend by a friend for the good food quality).Rang the take away back to complain, manager would not take my phone call left an inexperienced newbie to deal with me, who was very unhelpful due to his lack of knowledge and experience. All in all, said they would only redo the food as long as we took the order we received back to the takeaway, further putting us out, to use our energy and money to fix their own failure. Disappointed is an understatement.

Best for indian food and also the best pizza, great service, all friendly guys, great prices...must try!

Ok. Second time at Indus Valley. The first time, I had a pathia because it's a favourite dish of mine. That was lovely but it didn't prepare me for tonight. This time I went for the chef's special naga lamb dish. I had a delicious mixed kebab starter which hit the spot splendidly. Then I opened my main dish and placed my chilli paratha next to it. The dish was searingly hot but also phenomenally flavoured. It was complex and clever - certainly not just a dish which someone has just thrown chilli at for the sake of it. The chef has obviously thought this dish through very carefully and I applaud him intensely for it. I'll be back at Indus Valley again very soon and it's going to be very difficult for me to order something different next time. This is certainly the curry that I've been looking for!

A friend recommended a visit to this Indian Takeaway and suggested I try a new dish by the name of Naga Raj (Chicken). I was not disappointed. It is a very hot curry made with extra hot chillies, freshly ground spices, sliced garlic and coriander seed and has a lingering flavour that excites the taste buds. Not for the faint hearted but if you like a hot curry this dish also delivers some very tasty and mouth watering ingredients. Could not fault it.
