Mezzepotamia in Bury

I booked a table for 6 for my wife's birthday through Mezzepotamia's website. I received a booking confirmation when I booked, but when we got to the restaurant the owners advised that they are closed for renovations. Unfortunately this isn't the first time a booking has been cancelled by the restaurant without them letting us know. Needless to say, we won't be booking a table there again.

Outstanding food, service and atmosphere. We didn’t go for a main course each, but went for a mezzo of about ten different dishes and each one was a joy. A wonderful two hours passed ask too quickly. Thank you. Highly recommended.

This is an odd review as we found ourselves swept up in a birthday party that was happening in the rest of the restaurant while we were the only other table. The birthday party group were lovely and gathered us into their dancing and fun on what would otherwise have been a blooming awful evening! Table booked several weeks beforehand for a group of friends. We weren’t told about the birthday party and when one of our group phoned the week before to add another person, nothing was said then either. When we arrived, the staff didn’t seem to be expecting us and had to find a way of accommodating eight of us. Menus presented with most of the restaurant’s speciality mezze unavailable - this was apparently just for December but we weren’t told when we booked. Drinks arrived, dirty glass took a fair while to replace. Appetisers served, dips without bread or serving utensils, olives and bread was minus bread and no cocktail sticks or similar. But, we managed. Main courses arrived, and were well cooked and tasty, but, took ages to arrive and one did not arrive at all! Staff didn’t even notice. Eventually, the meal arrived but was rejected as too late. To give the manager credit, he wrapped it as a doggie bag and, of course, didn’t charge for it, offering a complementary drink too Inexperienced and untrained staff were very nice but leaned over food and drinks, took glasses that weren’t empty and cleared plates as soon as cutlery went down. I was with a group of friends, we dance together, so when the birthday party took over the space near to us, and our table, for dancing, sweets etc, we joined in and had a lovely time with them. They made our evening. BUT, the restaurant staff could not have known that. We may have been a party that was uncomfortable with that, or out for a far more somber reason. No one asked, no one checked we were okay with that, and no one asked us if we’d like another drink, coffee, or even the bill! I’m sure that this was an unusual evening but the staff managed it badly, from beginning to end. If you are a restaurant manager and you book a single table into an evening where there is a function taking place then you are under a duty to disclose this. If you take the party booking after the single table, you should contact the single table to see if they are okay with this. It’s clear to me that this place can’t cope with being busy and doesn’t have the customer’s comfort at its heart I doubt very much that we will be going back

Drove past and spotted this gem by chance. We were welcomed on arrival and shown to a table. I asked the young waitress for recommendations and she told me to go for the lamb chops, I was not disappointed! Absolutely beautiful as was all the other food we had. All staff really friendly too. Will deffo return!

We booked for a family birthday, on arrival we were greeted by the owner I am presuming, a lovely welcome and made to feel at home right away. Service was perfect and the food was delicious. Our visit made more special by the staff singing happy birthday at the end. Will be back!

Came here for my sons 18th birthday. What a lovely restaurant. The staff very helpful & pleasant. The food was absolutely delicious - mixed grill the lamb was to die for everything was so tasty, freshly cooked, definitely will come back

A truly authentic Turkish restaurant; great value; great food; excellent service; and a beautiful comfortable restaurant. Love that all the windows come down automatically to give an Alfresco feel. Everything fresh and tasty and beautifully presented. Highly recommended

This was a wonderful find. We live locally and we drove past and thought that we would drop in for a spontaneous and casual dinner. We are glad we did. The food was fantastic. We went with our two children 9 and 10. We ordered food for us all to share, hummus with lamb, meatballs, prawns in mushroom sauce, Turkish bread, adana kebab, chicken skewers, salmon with vegetables and cream sauce and some chips. All the food was absolutely delicious. The children loved it too. We will definitely be returning and telling our friends about it. It was a great unpretentious space and we had great service too.

Tuguy served us and was really accommodating - He set up a table outside and explained the menu - The food was delicious we had a mixture of small and large plates with Turkish bread - Toilets clean - Prices reasonable - Would definitely recommend

Dropped in for a glass of wine on the way back from shopping in Manchester. Lovely to stop here. They are quite happy for you to just have wine. Went back on Saturday for lunch. Excellent value for money. Lovely day so all the windows were down and felt like we were eating outside. Friendly and helpful staff. Love going there.

This is a must try Place with Pleasant indoor /outdoor dining freshly made Mezzes and grilled delicious meats, highly recommended

We live locally so have been here many times. We really enjoy the food and surroundings. It's so beautiful. The last few times we've been, Olga has been our main server and she has been so lovely to us. Couldn't fault her.
