Under new management with a new menu and a special winter offer of three courses for the price of the main making it excellent value. Food was fresh and appealing and tasted superb. Service was friendly and helpful.

Okay I'm not going to mess about,this place lacks atmosphere big time. Food itself was good. Mixed hot starter was very good along with plenty of bread. Main meal was fine, char grilled meats. Basic but tasty, calamari was tender and plentiful. Now here's the problems....... The place was bloody freezing,NO HEATING WHATSOEVER. We did mention it and was told it was broken and waiting repair, I think it just wasn't turned on because of costs. If it were broken you'd make every effort to heat the building. GO AND BUY SOME FAN HEATERS AND MAKE YOUR CUSTOMERS FEEL COMFORTABLE. Your in the centre of town ,NO EXCUSE. The service was poor,we got so fed up waiting for our table to be cleared we just asked for our bill and left. They also had the cheek to put a service charge on top. I'd wouldn't have paid it, because of the cold,poor service and the blatant lies about the heating. But as it was my birthday celebrations I wasn't going to cause a scene. I'm in the restaurant busines so I do know what's what. I'm honestly not surprised it was two thirds empty at peak dining time (7.30pm) on a Saturday night. A little advice to you all, if the weather is cold don't go here. Or be prepared to wear a coat.

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. When the main course arrived, the smell of the food immediately brought back memories of being on Kos over 10 years ago. We will definitely be visiting again.

Husband and I visited here for lunch, Decor from outside looks lovely and welcoming. Enter inside no one else but is where in the restaurant. Young man behind the bar was not that welcoming, hardly smiled! Inside was lovely and very well decorated, just lacked atmosphere as there was no music playing and all we could here was the kitchen staff singing/talking. Through the meal the gentleman at the bar was too busy having a conversation on loud speaker with his female friend! Food was really good although we only ordered starters and drinks as we thought we would dine else where. The food was lovely and the red dip with the bread was amazing! I think if dining here in the evening it would possibly be a better experience and atmosphere.

However, decent visuals couldn't mask the glaring deficiencies in every other category. 2. **Cooked - 1/5 Stars**: The takeaway from Messe and Grill seemed as though it had been sitting for days and hastily reheated in a microwave. Consuming undercooked food isn't just unpalatable; it's potentially hazardous to one's health. 3. **Price - 1/5 Stars**: Given the quality of what I received, the price felt like daylight robbery. Exceptional food might command a premium price, but this was far from exceptional. 4. **Taste - 1/5 Stars**: I've had the unfortunate experience of trying subpar hospital meals, and this takeaway was even worse. It's astonishing how a mixed kebab, typically bursting with a symphony of flavors, could taste so lifeless coming from Messe and Grill. 5. **Portion Size**: What was supposed to be a meal for at least two was woefully inadequate. The portions were laughably small and certainly didn't provide value for money. 6. **Freshness**: The dish exuded an aura of being repurposed rather than freshly prepared. It's essential for restaurants to ensure that their offerings are fresh, not only for taste but also for the safety of their patrons. In summary, I can't find a compelling reason to recommend Messe and Grill. When venturing out for a meal or ordering a takeaway, one expects at least a modicum of quality and taste. Unfortunately, Messe and Grill fails to deliver on both counts. If you value your time, money, and taste buds, you might want to consider other dining options.

I love Turkish food and have eaten it many times in restaurants all over the world. This is some of the least impressive Turkish food I've ever eaten. The falafel looked and tasted like heated up frozen balls, the humus was basic ready made rubbish, and the whole hot mezze sharing platter was very poor in comparison to other Turkish restaurants I've eaten in. We left after mezze without ordering mains. Also, the restaurant doesn't take card and no one told us that until we walked in after making a reservation.

Have to say the same as previous reviewer. Tasteless doner and chicken schwarmer. Cokes obviously came out of a large bottle and were flat. The meats were luke warm and we think microwaved. Was really looking forward to an authentic Turkish kebab , but was massively disappointed. The waiter was very friendly and helpful, but unfortunately the food was dreadful.

The food didn't taste anything like you expect from a Turkish restaurant. The chicken doner was absolutely tasteless, the lamb kebab was like mildly reheated. It's very rare i give low ratings because it has to be absolutely horrific experience for me to consider that. Come on restaurant owner £3 for a soft drink that also in 280ml glass with ice in it? Atleast give a glass bottle, yes it maybe pricey and we order food because we expect something tasty and delicious but trust me the kitchen needs sorting out big time. Its a lovely looking restaurant and both the young service gents were very polite and welcoming who did everything right but unfortunately the kitchen staff ruined the experience. Food sets the mood, and it ruined my evening.

Beautiful restaurant and lovely waiters who always have a smile on there face The decorations are Beautiful and the food is the best food I've ever had I'm not even being dramatic. Everybody keeps saying it's expensive but for a posh restaurant 15 pound is a bargain. The desert was brilliant I had the rich chocolate sponge cake with ice cream and it was delicious and if you think the portions are small either get a starter first or go away to Mc Donald's or KFC where you belong. Somebody also said they got food poisoning after, that's probably not true think about what else you ate before. Or you could just be sick. Anyway this place is spectacular, if you get the chance to go here do

We were walking through Poole on our way to the quay when we spotted this restaurant. After speaking to the owner we decided to come back after we had finished our walk. There was 5 of us and we wanted somewhere to celebrate one of our friends birthdays and decided this was the place. We were not wrong, the owner warmly welcomed us and showed us to our table. The food and service was truly amazing with really authentic Turkish cuisine, it brought back happy memories of our times spent in Kalkan. We would have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant and would definitely go back when next in Poole. So you are aware this is a cash only establishment.

Was absolutely lovely service, waiters were very quick and very friendly. They made sure that we had the cash to pay and had a sign up saying cash only as we walked through the door. Even though we'd arrived after a big group they made sure to take our order first so we weren't waiting too long for drinks and food. The main meal was absolutely fantastic tasted amazing, was very well balanced and the coffee was incredible too. Would recommend to anyone.

Terrible and over priced. Don’t waste your money. Doesn’t look like the pictures they advertise outside. Sliced chicken felt like it was bought from Asda, instead of bbq chunks and re warmed starters. Avoid.

Dropped in for an early supper and food was delicious, the cold mezze for 2 was really tasty, wonderful smoky baba ganoush and hummus. We added in a hot mezze dish and sadly had to leave a bit as too full! Very friendly service, will definitely come again when next in Poole! Cash only but they told us this on arrival and there's a cash machine just down the road.

We were slightly disappointed with Mezze Grill after being very excited it had reopened, it's not as good as it used to be. My husband has the calamari to start and was underwhelmed. Three calamari rings, that we're probably still frozen 10mins earlier, appeared but there was plenty of salad. The falafel were good. The meat from the lamb donor was dry, the flatbread was just a tortilla wrap but again there was a good amount of salad. The chicken ali nazik was very tasty but oily and the baba ganush had too much natural yogurt as you couldn't taste the aubergine, but it was still a nice dish. The rice was well cooked and heavily seasoned. The service was good but we won't rush back.

We took the recommendation of friends who know the area and were very glad we did. We enjoyed an excellent meal - beautifully cooked and presented (very tender lamb and tasty chicken). Also appreciated that most dishes could be gluten free with rice instead of bread. Service was also excellent.

The Iskenderun kebab was an absolute revelation. Had a perfect meal with friends.

My wife and I popped in while passing and we really enjoyed ourselves. The food was amazing, some of the best of the style we've ever had and the service was attentive and friendly. Hot drinks are a little overpriced, but the rest of the menu was very fair. Highly recommended.

Right, as some people have said it's cash only, but there's an ATM along the road. Plus if you read the reviews then you've been forewarned. It's nice inside, the staff are good, the Efes was cold and the mixed kebab was decent. Pricewise it's very competitive too.

Visited over the weekend as we use to enjoy Mezze before they closed. So was over the moon they reopened Food was delicious as usual, and staff lovely and friendly. Service was slow but they where quite busy and little staff. They are cash only as they they said they have no Internet at the moment so had to walk to get some cash but wasn't an issue. Second - Cold Meze Starter - sadly I've had better Supermarket Dips / tinned vine leaves and at £15 expected better. Third - Merlot at £20+ a bottle was definitely not new. The Cork was half out! Fourth - The mains were nothing special. I wanted Kleftico but they didn't have it so went with the combo kebab dish which was meant to be served on rice - came with fries and tasted like a Sainsburys Doner kebab and a chicken sandwich roll chopped finely. Fries were good but clearly frozen ones cooked well. Lastly, it all took too long to arrive and it was clear they were packing up for the night despite the website accepting bookings till 945pm (We were there an hour earler). At which point we just felt we had to leave. I'd have had a better meal at the kebab house down the road and saved myself £70! I have to be fair and say that the waiter was good and feel sorry that he was let down by poor food quality. No, I didn't complain (I shouldn't have to!) and left a small tip for the Waiter. Very disappointing!

The worst Turkish restaurant in Britain. The food differs from the details on the menu. The rice is in contrast to the details on the menu. The rice is opposite it, the chicken is old, and from Maggi to hide its badness. The drink is cola, with water. .

I come here when I want a casual lunch. The falafel is delicious and recommended, and the appetizer? The platter was also very delicious! The food is delicious and I want to eat it quickly! That's why I always forget to take pictures 😅 Some people have harsh opinions, but I think it's a restaurant that has good taste and value for money. My husband also likes the freshly fried, crispy French fries here.

Do not waste your money! For some reason my last review was deleted on trip advisor. This is highly unacceptable considering it was a fair and honest review. Overpriced, poor quality and small portions. The service wasn't much better. When these points were raised at the time, nothing was done to try to make anything right and then had the audacity to expect full payment. The bread was stale and cost £5/6 with some dry humus. £15 for a started size portion of 4 cubes of chicken that was over cooked and badly seasoned. Shame on you for removing my original review, would really like to know the ground on why it was removed, out of order and will make the reviews misleading for anyone wanting an honest recent review.

Didn't accept cards, we weren't informed before ordering. All 5 of us had to walk up the road to a cashpoint to get cash. Probably could have just walked off but came back to pay. Food was ok though.

Lovely find. Out bimbling around Poole harbour and came across this little gem of a place down a side street. Highly recommend The SARMA LAMB BEYTI.

We found this restaurant by accident. What a gem. Really good food very reasonable prices. And lovely lovely staff. Could ask for more. So good we booked again for a few nights time.

Food is overpriced for what it is. Service is not good. Lamb chops were very dry. Waiters didn’t give any garlic or chilli sauce to accompany food. We had to ask twice because they kept forgetting. By the time we had got it most of our food was nearly finished. Eating dry meat on its own with no sauce is not easy but we were hungry. One of the waiters was very moody. Smile it’s free mate.

Lovely meal, ambiance and service

We had a lovely Turkish breakfast! Plate was loaded with all sorts: olives, cheeses, eggs, sausage, salad… served with nuts, bread and honey and jam. Absolutely delicious. Finished off with a great Turkish coffee.

Great restaurant with a nice area to sit outside. We had lunch, chicken and falafel wraps. Very tasty and came with chips and salad. Staff were friendly and helpful, all in all very good value good quality lunch. We will definitely visit again.

On appearance there is a lovely outdoor seating area and the photos of the food looked fabulous . The menu had good variety but was very pricey with most main dishes at £20! We ordered from the lunch menu. My friend asked for no mayo in her wrap for allergy reasons . I ordered a salad and asked for no tomato and also if there was any salad dressing . He said it would come without dressing - this in itself is odd because who would have a salad as a main with no kind of dressing ! So I asked for some form of dressing on the side . We also ordered drinks and tap water. The food came and I was given a salad with tomato and no dressing and my friend’s wrap came with mayonnaise . The tap water never arrived so we had to prompt them again. I asked for the dressing which then arrived 10 minutes later . There was no apology for the poor service or getting the orders wrong and it was overall a very underwhelming meal . In addition the toilets were foul . There was toilet paper on the floor , awful dirty tiles a tap that spat water into the bowl and over you and a hallway with carpet that was dirty and peeling up in the middle - a definite trip hazard.

Shocking customer service, from the minute we arrived. Toilets dirty, we went in to order as it took so long for them to come out, drinks took over 10 minutes to arrive, asked for no Mayo on my wrap as I’m pregnant, the waiter noted it down but came out and said he had forgot to ask the kitchen, when I asked to see the container to check he said no and he said ‘it should be fine’ well that’s not good enough for me so again I asked to see the packaging and he refused said he thought it was Heinz. No apology, no gesture of good will by refunding the drinks so I left without lunch

The atmosphere is nice the stuff needs training. I'm giving 3 stars because when we asked the manager if he could make ayran (yoghurt mixed with water) he said yes without asking us if we were ok to pay £15 for a pitcher of ayran which is £3 for 150ml per cup, just for info in London at Turkish restaurant charges £1 for 200ml. This was not correct because it is not on the menu and it is way too expensive. The other problem was a hair in the moussaka. He asked me if he should replace it or remove it we decided to replace it as the moussaka was the reason we went there. I ended running inside looking for someone of the stuff after we waited for awhile and noone came to check even they saw us waiving on them. In addition, they served us the food and we waited for 5 minutes until they brought us forks even though there were only 3 tables including us and they barely handled. They should have given us some kind of discount after that, but nothing. If a customer wants something that is not on the menu, you better ask them if they are willing to pay that much no matter if it's £1 £3 or £15!!!

We really enjoyed our meals here last night. The lamb shish and kofta were the best we have ever had, the chicken shish and kofta were really flavourful and tender and the baklava were lovely. Sadly we were too late to try the ottoman dessert. The only criticism is that it was also the most expensive Turkish kebab we have had but that might be a sign of the times.

This is a must if you like Turkish/middle Eastern cuisine. Everything is cooked to perfection - succulent chicken or lamb dishes, combo kebabs and beautiful side dishes featuring bulgar wheat and spiced rice. Staff are quick and friendly and there is a good drinks menu

Kebab was overcooked and slightly dry. Not much flavour to it either so I had to ask for chilli sauce, unfortunately the chilli sauce was also lacking in any sort of spice as well.

Could have bought a horse with the money I spent But I must say the salad was wet too. The owner was speaking very rudely he had a black hoodie and he was acting like a roadman that was let loose from prison. Never manage to give a review but we just had the most amazing meal here I feel compelled too! Being vegan and also Coeliac eating out is always challenging …. But Mezze & Grill we’re truly fantastic!!! They went out of there way to accommodate and we had the most delicious meal, thoroughly recommend their food and the atmosphere, music, staff were all fabulous…. Thank-you we will definitely come back when we are in town :)
