This place is unreal, it’s that good ! It’s a deli-style, ‘French’ cafe and is perfect, and I am fussy. The food, the staff, the presentation. If you have no room for dessert you just take away a slice of posh cake for later. As I can only eat small portions, I took away my tasty left-overs in a little box to enjoy the following day. Nothing is a problem here at ‘Mes Amis’. It’s just off the A36 just south of Bath, so it’s a convenient meeting place for friends & family to meet up !

A very pleasant café and coffee shop in this charming village, there seemed to be a steady stream of customers on our Saturday morning visit, but fortunately many were just buying to take away and we got a seat with no problem. The array of cakes displayed certainly looked very tempting, and the friendly waitress talked us through them all. The range was a little unusual, no Victoria Sponge or Millionaire’s Shortbread for example, with a Carrot Cake being the only one that might be considered more mainstream. That’s not a criticism though, it makes a pleasant change to have something different from the norm that you get everywhere else. I opted for the Toffee Cake, which looked much like the more usual coffee sponge, but was very good indeed, a lovely moist cake with a great hit of sweetness from the icing. It was very enjoyable, and very unusually, served with a small pot of cream and jam on the side. Across the table, a carrot cake was an enormous portion and also very well made, with a great flavour and again, a pot of jam and cream to accompany it. A latte and a pot of tea to drink were also very good. Overall, definitely worth a visit, it’s only a very short detour off the main road and you won’t be disappointed.

Went here on a Tuesday lunchtime and it was packed! And with good reason. We ate the most delicious carrot and feta fritters with three crunchy salads. Fresh, healthy and very very tasty. If I lived locally I’d keep this place a secret it’s so good.

A friend told us about Mes Ami in Beckington near Frome. In a lovely remote village with one pub, a garage and not much else one really doesn’t expect to find this incredible little cafe. So neat and clean with a superb menu choice of light lunches which changes every day. Lovely friendly staff and the most beautiful freshly prepared and interesting combinations of yummy lunches snacks and cakes. Unquestionably every time we’re in the area we’ll go out of our way to visit. Find it try it and you’ll be hooked. It’s very special. Colin and Ros. Tetbury.

The cafe is fine, the staff are friendly. However, an alert for vegans - or even if you just prefer non-dairy milk - you pay a surcharge of 40p for soya or oatley. Working on the basis that the price of £2.50 for a tea with dairy milk includes the price of the dairy milk this is 40p EXTRA. And 20p extra for decaff. Not thrilled.

Every bit as good as the other reviewers say it is. There’s really not much more I can add. A fantastic offering of both meat and vegetarian dishes. My husband could hardly decide which cake to choose they all look so fantastic and the service is very friendly. We did wait rather a long time to be served and it really wasn’t that busy but that’s a minor niggle. My only other issue is that we couldn’t bring a small dog into the restaurant, living in Frome, we are so used to being able to take our dog everywhere, it was a shame to have to leave her in the car. Given that we were sitting next to a table where two small children were throwing their food all over the table and floor and screaming their heads off, whilst the parents looked at their mobile phones. It is hard to understand why people would object to a very small, calm dog entering the restaurant and sleeping under our chairs? I am a mother as well as pet owner btw!

Another good visit, fantastic. food great deserts, good coffee, all at a very reasonable cost. Service is good yes it can be a little slow but that's because it's so busy, and nothing to moan about. If I had one issue on this visit it was the fact that why do people who enter and leave the restaurant leave the door ajar. I did get board of twisting in my seat to close it. Maybe an automatic door closer would solve people's lack of thought.

We stopped here for coffee and cake and it did not disappoint. It was very busy but they squeezed us in. I had beetroot cake which was absolutely delicious, not too sweet and a lovely generous slice. The hot chocolate was fantastic too. We will definitely return to try a lunch very soon.

We popped in before leaving Beckington and brought food for lunch which was packed up to keep it safe from being squashed as well at sampling their coffee and hot chocolate and of course their cakes. What a lovely atmosphere and food I would defiantly recommend Mes Amis.

What a wonderful find! Came here yesterday for the first time and had a lovely welcome. The counter was stocked with a variety of mouth watering food and I immediately knew that I was going to enjoy it here. Everything on the menu looked very good as well as being reasonably priced. The frittata I chose came with a choice of 3 salads and when they arrived I was not disappointed. A perfect lunch with friendly service too. I will definitely return.

The welcome is warm. The food is fresh . The menu always slightly changing. The cakes are sublime. Dogs are allowed. What’s not to love about this cafe. It’s simply the best

I dropped in for coffee on my way to meet a friend in Frome, and wished we were meeting here to eat. The food looked divine: healthy and freshly made, with cakes to die for, and the price reasonable for what it is. There are vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. Everything about the place was pleasant and well-thought out, and it is situated in a charming village. My only tiny tiny quibble was that I was charged extra for decaff, which is unusual. However, I will definitely visit again, next time for a meal, and I'll bring my friend with me.

We always enjoy Mes Amis when visiting Beckington (have done for several years) - last summer we were fortunate to eat in on their first day open in July. This time we had a picnic ordered for arrival and it was fantastic - superb value...

Today picked up this Saturdays takeaway dinner menu. It was amazing. Greek style lasagne, Greek salad and flat breads.

Such a great find, everything tasted beautiful. We had the breakfast baguette, pastries and coffee. We took home (too many) cakes and treats to try as we couldn’t resist and they were all excellent. Such a shame we were on holidays as we would definitely...

My husband and I picked up our picnic today that we had ordered. We were expecting a really tasty spread as we had eaten at Mes Amis before, but this was something else.How can Sian find such wonderful produce to make such delicious food? I'd love to know who her suppliers are!We had a vegetarian and a meat picnic everything was so tasty, from the salads to the bread, the cheese, the meat, the flans just wow! To finish off there were luscious strawberries and the most delicious shortbread. Not only is the food wonderful but also the staff are so friendly and welcoming.We didn't manage to eat everything so we've got some lovely leftovers for lunch tomorrow.

This is a real asset for Beckington and well worth travelling far to get there. The place has character, the staff is professional, the dishes excellent, good wines. It was a great experience, which made our day. We will go back!

Once again I had lunch with a friend and the whole experience was wonderful. The menu changes regularly, so I had different choices from last time. My pork spring roll was delicious as were my chosen three accompanying salads. My friend had not dined here before but had heard good reports; her experience today met her expectations. I can thoroughly recommend Mes Amis as a venue for a very pleasant lunch.

Very enjoyable lunch, tucked in comfortably. Unpretentious surroundings, charming decor, and tempting salad bar to drool over. Only complaint is the coffee - it certainly isn't up to the high standard of the food.Even the loo is right in this place - hot water, nice soap and a clean flannel for each person to dry hands on. Well done Mes Amis.

It is always a treat here. Delicious deli style food with great selection of cakes and also lunches....the salads are an epicurean mix of flavours and textures. Unbeatable in the area.Mes Amis sets a very high bench mark and also sells beautiful gifts and cards. Highly recommend.

Three friends had lunch here last week. The food was delicious, with some lovely fresh flavour combinations. I did not have dessert but my friend did and said it was very good. The waitresses were knowledgeable, fun and observant. All in all, a great value meal in a very pleasant little cafe. Thoroughly recommended.

Fantastic coffee, lovely breakfast little gem of a find. Nice cheerful staff such a change. Dog friendly which is a plus. Nice little village, friendly atmosphere. We had a lovely freshly prepared breakfast. With eggs perfection cooked which seems to be a variety these days. Highly recommended.

I have regularly visited Mes Amis over the years they have been open and can safely say I have never had a bad cake or experience. My favourite dish is a toss up between the banana loaf or the frangipane tart both served warm with cream and stewed plums. Delicious! Always very reasonable for the quality of food and the staff are always polite and knowledgeable. They also offer a range of gifts from homewear, mugs, jugs and plates to candles, reed diffusers and cosmetic bags. Definitely worth a visit!

Great little independent cafe serving fresh homemade food. Lunches are tasty, hearty, and imaginative. The vegetable fritters with a choice of 3 salads were particularly good. Their ethos of promoting local businesses and suppliers makes it a valuable addition to the rural community. The place was buzzing - would definitely return.

Really great little cafe with good selection of cakes and lunches. Salads are the best I have had anywhere - just that bit different and really full of flavour. The coffee is really good too and always hot which is not always the case in other local cafes. They are busy here and you may wait a little while for your order, but equally but they do not hurry you! Clearly locals love it and so they should!!

Family run cafe - friendly staff, lovely atmosphere & superb food. The salads are interesting, hearty & really, really tasty. The menu consists of homemade soup, tarts, quiches, frittatas and salads with lots of cakes for afters. This is the sort of food I could eat every day. A surprising find in such a small village. A little gem of a place in an unlikely setting, but well worth seeking out. This isn't the place to go if you're looking for a quick coffee and a cheese roll. The menu mainly consists of tarts, quiche, salads and soups. I had the carrot and cardamom soup which was wonderful and a perfect winter-warmer on a cold day. The cakes looked wonderful too but I don't think I could have squeezed one in.

Ah - Beckington - a picture perfect English village no sadly by - passed by the A36, but If you have time - drop off that busy bustling arterial road and slow down, have a slow lunch at Mes Amie !

We made a big detour to reach Des Amis and were not dissappointed. Perhaps a little wary when we arrived with two boisterous little boys, once they'd chosen their pink sugar mice and croissants we could all relax and enjoy the best cake ever.

I visit here because it’s calm and quiet for my clients. The staff are wonderful and understanding. Especially a lady called Naomi. The food is gorgeous. Lovely cakes and bakes.

Lunch at this lovely cafe in Beckington. Beautifully made and presented salads, we variously had goats cheese, fig and filo parcel., squash, onion and filo tart., leek and taleggio tart plus salads. Nothing was left on the plates! Warm friendly service, a great selection of cakes but as we were full it was a case of takeaway cakes plus a couple of salads to have with supper tonight. By the way when I say salad I don't mean Lettuce, Cucumber and tomato. The wild rice with nuts, apricots and other elements was worthy of a dish on its own, celeriac remoulade where the celeriac was not grated but in fine julienne, beetroot dukkah with lovely fresh chunks of melting beetroot. Wish I lived in the area, I'd be a regular customer.

Birthday tea for my daughter and two small children had to include cake. Mes Amis has delicious cakes, all served with cream. Such helpful Staff, and the children actually sat quietly as the cake was too good to miss.

Was told about this place while we were staying at the Woolpack Inn around the corner and was glad we were. Lovely little cafe with a great selection of homemade cakes. My wife was even happier as they had a good selection of gluten free cakes as well.

Find a table ,also a chair! and you’re good to go. Peruse the menu then select your choice of 3 salads to accompany your choice. I had moussaka with a Cold ratatouille, curry flavoured coleslaw and a pasta salad. This was garnished with lettuce greens.

Wasn’t sure if there would be gluten free options. There was no need to worry. Had excellent courgette fritters and good options of salad. We also were able to ‘take away’ 2 different gluten free cakes.

Called in for a quick coffee and cake. Despite not having visited for a few months I was warmly greeted by name, there was a great choice of cake, the atmosphere was warm, relaxed and caring. Still a real favourite of mine.

Beckington are very lucky to have such a beautiful deli / cafe, it also sells gifts and does catering. We only live about 25 minutes away but always tend to bypass Beckington on the way to Frome or Stourhead. Today we stopped on a whim, just to see what it was like, and were so glad we did. We only had coffee and tiny pain au raisin but they were lovely, and the rest of the food looked amazing - we couldn't think of anything that compares to this in Bradford on Avon, where we live, though it's not short on decent coffee places. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere great - we will definitely come for lunch one day.

Loved your home-made granola to me it was perfect, it complemented the creamy Greek yogurt and the fruit compote was really good, not too sweet and not too sharp! Great friendly service and a visually beautiful interior. We will be back for more!

My husband visited Mes Amis about a year ago and was very enthusiastic about the place. We visited today as we were in the area and I discovered that his enthusiasm was not misplaced. The salads and cakes were all tempting. The cafe was cosy. The staff were friendly. An unexpectedly delightful place.

Fabulous little cafe serving delicious lunches. Interesting choices, excellent salads, quiches etc - that sounds bland and dull - these are completely the opposite. Amazing cakes, great coffee. Everything is so delicious. It gets very full, for good reason - it's very worth going out of your way, but is also a brilliant stop a minute off the A36. Well decorated, they've made the most of limited space - and also sell pottery and various lovely smelling potions and lotions. All the staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. Best of all they now have a licence so you can have a glass or bottle of wine - they sell wines too.

The constant daily menu change and exquisite eating experience sets this place apart from many eating establishments. The food is wonderfully healthy yet some of the tastiest you will find. What a gem! Sure it’s busy and hard to get a seat at times but that’s what you get when your this popular and good luck to them! The staff are super friendly and can’t do enough to make the whole experience a perfect one.

A small, quaint cafe that sells the most beautiful salads & individual dishes along with some verytasty cakes and treats. (we often buy extras of salads and cakes to take home) The staff are always lovely and it’s one of my favourite places for a tasty unique lunch out, highly recommend !

Been here twice recently and impressed both times. Very friendly welcoming engaging staff .Our well behaved excited pup was caringly fussed over and quietly sat beneath out table.Lovely atmosphere and aromas of cakes and flowers. Very clean stylish classy tasteful decor and lovely staff in relaxing rooms . We chose the bread and butter chocolate brioche ( Again it was heavenly ) but to be fair everything looks delicious - with latte and cappuccino coffees - excellent.Will be back again with friends - soon. Not very local to the area we reviewed Trip Advisor for a dog friendly cafe with a good breakfast. Well past visitors were not wrong. Excellent service and food. Staff were helpful and friendly. We did not try the vast range of beautiful cakes on display, so definitely will be visiting again very soon

Late lunch stop on a Thursday, place was mobbed... and we now know why. What a find this was. Simple menu system of choosing the 'main' and selecting three from a great range of salad/sides. All food was excellent. Definitely recommend!

We were on the way to Frome but came here after reading the reviews and we’re so glad we did! The place was heaving, we were lucky to get a table. We both had 3 salads (out of this world, bursting with flavour), mine with the mushroom arancini (the best I’ve ever had), my husband’s with tasty chicken. Although we were stuffed, we both had cake which came with stewed fruit and cream (my orange polenta cake was divine). Wonderful staff and lovely interior. If we were local we’d be regulars.

I regularly visit this cafe to buy takeaway salads or to have lunch with my family. The food is delicious, in particular the freshly made salads. The staff are also very knowledgable about allergens. Well worth a visit.

We'd been meaning to call in for a while, and actually managed it yesterday. Great coffee and lovely cake with wonderful apricot compote and cream going perfectly with a berry financier and white chocolate bread and butter pudding. The salads and quiche looked so good we had to take some away for lunch and were so glad we did. We will be back to try more! The service was lovely too.

My friend and i have been here twice now. The atmosphere is relaxed ans luxurious. The staff are very knowledgeable about the food and any allergens. Lots for everyone to eat. You have a choice of about 4 main courses with options like chicken in tarragon, cheese gluten free scones, veggie tartlets etc with a choice of 3 salads from a selection of 5. Amazing salads, no lettuce and tomato in sight. There is a selection of cakes and ice cream and the coffee is delicious. What more can i say? Oh yes the staff are lovely

Mes Amis is an incredible hidden gem. Our family come here nearly every weekend. They do an excellent selection of healthy and tasty foods, and they cater for vegetarians, vegans and meat eaters alike. A perfect weekend brunch spot!

After flying all night from the US, and driving in from London, our first experience with the UK service and food was wonderful. This little cafe has amazingly fresh salads, and great brunch items. Calm and quaint atmosphere with locals frequently popping in to visit. Reminds us of our favorite bakery in our hometown, and we truly enjoyed the food and coffee. Thank you for a lovely first stop in England for us!

All good things come to those who wait...and if you're expecting everything you order to turn up in moments you may be disappointed. If, on the other hand, you're here with friends for a relaxing bite out, you certainly won't be. Everything is excellent, you'll love it.

I have visited this little a gem of a place a couple of times as I have a friend who lives in the area. As soon as you enter it feels special, due to its individuality and the care and love that clearly goes in to this café. The service is always so friendly and of course the food is top notch, everything is home made, a great feat considering the space! Can't wait to come back, if your nearby then your in for a treat.

I've had many a tasty treats from this place. The owners and staff and lovely and welcoming and the food is just incredible! The only problem you will encounter is not having a big enough appetite to trial all the cakes and treats. The plum and frangipani tart is the best in my opinion but I need to return to try the ice-cream too.

We visited here twice during one weekend spent in Beckington. After a long drive, on a hot day- being welcomed into this colourful and happy place is all you need. The cakes look like works of art and taste just as good. Colourful salads are delicious and refreshing... But for me, the stars of the show are the homemade ice-cream- absolute perfection. Already planning my next two hour drive to enjoy more Mes Amis delights.

We visited for brunch. The breakfast menu is great and the breakfast baguette delicious. Whilst I cannot fault the food the service is distinctly lacking. As my guest noted we were not made to feel welcome at all, and at some points it felt like we were an inconvenience. A real shame.

Up in Trowbridge for the weekend and popped in for lunch on Monday before we set off for home. Our friends had recommended the lovely little restaurant and we were not disappointed at all. Wonderful ambience and décor. The food was excellent and delicious. We all had the platters with a choice of three salads. The individual flavours were superb. Could not fault it in any way! Coffees were great too. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Very reasonably priced too!
