Visited Merry Harriers restaurant and was greeted with a friendly welcome by Barbara, and our order was taken by a very helpful Adam. We enjoyed three delicious hot chocolates with all the extras, made by the lovely Sarah! We will definitely visit again and hopefully have a carvery which has been highly recommended!

Just been for the Christmas carvery and it was excellent in every respect. Lovely warm welcome, shown to a table prettily decorated for the occasion. The carvery was delicious, every element well cooked and so many vegetable options. An absolute highlight was the trio of desserts, beautifully presented and every one mouthwatering, particularly enjoyed having lighter elements on the plate after such a generous main meal. The staff were all lovely and attentive, recognised the guy at the carvery as he carried Xmas tree to the car for me the other day, extra brownie points for that🤣 Thank you to everyone concerned

Went with a group of friends for lunch. Quick , attentive service and food was delicious. We stayed and chatted for quite a while and didn’t feel hurried at all. Would eat here again.

I understand that the garden centre was up for sale but has been taken off the market. It used to be a welcoming place to visit but now run down. The restaurant used to be very good, plenty of waiting staff but supervision is letting them down. The food wasn't particularly good it took a long time to arrive and when it did it was tepid,we won't return.

Went on a wet & windy day. Car park was full. Service in restaurant was very good considering it was nearly full . Lemon sponge pudding excellent at £3.95.

Great food and lovely staff. The Sunday lunch was excellent; sumptuous roast beef and a host of vegetables all cooked to perfection. Puddings were tempting but we simply couldn’t make room! The staff were polite and efficient. We will be returning.

if you want a great carvery served by lovely people then get to the Merry Harrier on a Sunday for lunch. Relax in the garden if it's a nice day or in the conservatory next to the bar if it's a bit overcast. Great value for money with all you can pile onto your plate. Very very generous helpings.

The van runs a generator all day to power the van, noisy and polluting. must be a greener way to run a business.

This is our fourth visit to the gardens and the restaurant. The food has always been imaginative, tasty and well cooked and sufficient in quantity. The only negative this time is the poor service. The waiting staff are lovely people but there aren’t enough of them and they seem to lack leadership and direction. Disappointed that you are not taken to a table and as such we hung around the entrance being ignored before just going to a table! Didn’t feel comfortable that staff actually clocked we were there! Restaurant really needs a change, it can’t cope, which is a shame.
