Merry Go Round in Hartlepool

This is a great spot for a meal after work. The staff are incredible, we got seated within a few minutes and the waiting times are almost non existent. All of our food was brought out in less than 30 minutes

We visited this pub as it had a soft play on site for my daughter and niece. I must say the staff were absolutely amazing, so friendly and nothing was a bother. The food was beautiful. I really could not fault this place at all. It’s a shame we don’t live locally as I’d be a regular visitor.

A fun Wacky Warehouse trip with my family. Thanks to the lovely staff Marni and Steph who helped to make us so welcome even while my child had a massive meltdown. My son has limited speech due to his autism, but they made a real effort to communicate with him. Thanks for going the extra mile!

We had a couple issues with the food order that was quickly corrected. We sat on a big table around the back to the right of the toilets and the floor was a disgrace. Food all over the place and I don't think the menus have been cleaned for months. The staff were lovely though and gave us 3 free desserts for our trouble.

Staff are always friendly. Carvery is lovely. Lager is a bit pricey though. Plenty of parking Also for young children the whacky is on the side for kids to play not sure how much it is

We've been a few times. The carvery is nice. The breakfast isn't that nice. I got a salad which consisted of chicken and bacon, lettuce, cheese and toast as croutons which I paid near £8 for!

Took the kids here to go in the play area they had a fantastic time. Then popped into the restaurant area for food all of our food was lovely. Went to get drinks manager on the bar Cheryl was lovely had a few drinks to carry so she helped me with them.

We go for the carvery regularly, though we avoid going on weekends because it's too busy for me

Love the veggie carvery as you get a lovely cheese pie or quorn sausages included with the price. Lovely onion gravy too.

Amazing staff, great food, lovely and relaxing

Always loved this place and it never leaves me wanting! I would like to make a positive comment today regarding the new Yorkshire puddings! Stunning and so much better than the old ones. Also, Ginge (maybe not new but new to me) she was so uplifting and friendly.

We had 8 of us out tonight celebrating a birthday , we all ordered different things on the menu and I had the carvery . We all loved our food , it all arrived the same time and my carvery was beautiful and hot. x Desserts were fab and the staff who served us were brilliant Thanks all at the Merry Go Round for making my bday celebration a fab one. xx ❤️

Not quite a five but got to say the food was lovely and staff very attentive once food was served which makes great customer service. However in need of a spruce up.

Children visited the soft play area and wanted to use their £1 on the toy grabbing machine like they always do to find it is now completely cashless not only cashless but now also costing £3. Very disappointed children as I refuse to use card to play a game that should offer both. Will be taking them to Kosmtic Kingdom from now on which offer both cash and card. Just a reminder that cash is still a legal tender and especially in places where kids may want to insert their pound coins themselves. A few other people also didn't let their children have a go for this same reason.

Great value carvery with great taste and gravy is lovely. Customer service is great. The only down side is they have recently upgraded their Yorkshire puddings to those cheap ones with no substance to them.

Rang to try and book a table for soft play area. I was transferred to the soft play area and no one picked up so rang agine and they said they'd leave a massage for them to ring me back.they never did. rang them agine and the lady was rude and said I don't think so then transferred me agine and they then hung up on me. I tryed to speak to some in the soft play are for 3hrs and was unable to speak to anyone.

I just wanted to highly praise their wonderful staff! Lisa in particular was so friendly, kind and thoughtful and she really went above and beyond, I’m disabled and I use a walking stick and without asking she carried my plate back to my table after the carvery, whilst also getting me some cranberry sauce , at the end of my beautiful meal I then asked for a doggy bag and one of the other lovely staff got me one and Lisa seeing this brought me a brown paper bag to keep it safer. I always feel so welcomed here and of course the food is 10 out of 10 every time 😊😊😊 xx

We had a meal of sirloin steak which was cooked to a treat we were greeted at the bar by Michael who gave us a genuine smile very helpful with the Wi-Fi we will be back in the morning for breakfast pub was warm and welcoming

Popped in for lunch. Once I smelled the carvery I couldn’t say no. Meat was delicious. Perfect home made Yorkies and lovely thick gravy. Even managed to squeeze in dessert. Great service from Michael, Lisa and Brenda.

We came as a party of 7 adults 5 children today for wacky play and then food, The wacky is the wacky same old play but the food was great and the service was even better Didn’t even get any photos to add as we scranned the lot as soon as it was put down I think the girls name were Hannah and Zoe and both went above and beyond to keep the table fed and watered great job ❤️

I love this place for the cost. Very autism friendly and the bar staff are lovely. Spaced out with many tables. Can be a bit noisy with it being a family friendly environment but the roast is brilliant.

Me and my grandson had the ultimate breakfast costing £7.99 on a Saturday morning. When the plates were brought to our table I thought wow how much is on there, the plate was massive and full of food, I can honestly say it was the best breakfast I've had while eating out, I would highly recommend and will certainly be going back.

Christmas Day we visited as a family, our second year for Christmas Day festive carvery. Will be going next year. Food was amazing the atmosphere is great. Staff are amazing and extremely Helpful with anything if needed. I go here all year round and Christmas Day is just amazing. Cheryl is amazing manager and all staff are amazing. Highly recommend .

The atmosphere in the pub is great and staff and the service is spot on can't fault it ,definitely going back again.

Visited for food, had carvery. It was beautiful, succulent meat and fresh veg would recommend anyone to give it a go. Great and attentive team and Lisa was lovely really looked after us.

Friendly staff staff, always seem happy to be there. Made us feel right at home. Met up with some friends and had a few pints. Good place for food and catch up :)

We had a voucher to use up so decided to come here ,as it had been years since we'd been. Meal was good , but for me the beef was a bit chewy(i hate fat on meat) hence the 4*... But the rest meal was lovely.

Came for food today and wasn’t impressed. Mixed grill meat was cold and very fatty, sausages looked like the had seen better days. Also got a Sunday roast where the veg was rock hard. Cannot fault the staff, they were all really chatty and lovely but food wasn’t the greatest.

Food service was really quick considering how busy it was.. food was also hot and cooked to perfection even though I am fussy and ask for extras and things separate. Really friendly service, Cheryl was super helpful :) all in all great experience great place...

First time to use the pub which is local to me. Slow service if they don’t know you or expect you. Ordered a Morretti on arrival then mistakenly ordered a Peroni…then corrected this together with Bar Man Then ordered another Morretti and enjoyed that and...

In our experience today staff were pleasant and helpful... chicken on a mini mix grill dry and partially raw, chips dry, the carvery was tasty but some of the parsnips were tough, turkey was lovely and juicy and Yorkshire puds nice.

It was after a funeral we went for a drink with the the people family

Arrived around 2.30pm without booking, seated immediately, friendly and professional staff. Carvery lovely well cooked and plenty of choice. 20% off food with my blue light card was an added bonus

Food was excellent. Wasn't too busy for a Saturday afternoon which was perfect.

My major criticism was the non-existent head on my bottle of Newcastle Brown which had a slightly alien flavour, most strange.

Visited today with my daughter. She had fish & chips which were fine. I had full English breakfast, sausages looked like they had been there all day. Egg whites still clear and slimey, bacon over salty, hass browns full of grease. No staff asking if...

Definitely gone downhill since I was last here. Service and food were rubbish, only gammon on the carvery which we weren’t told when we booked earlier that day or when we went in, Yorkshire puds like pancakes and veg looked like it had been sat hours. Really disappointing and on my birthday too, having to wait days for a refund

First time eating at tea time opted for the carvery seems like it was left from lunchtime a lot of the food was dried up being in heated containers all day bit of a let down by the usual standards

Very clean and tidy pub with plenty to offer for a little family meal out. Food was OK. My daughter loved the carvery. Plenty of choice with drinks and not too bad price wise. Love the wacky warehouse too. Update- ordered a kids meal with ice cream and drink for £5.48 which I thought was a very good deal! Delivered into wacky for convenience too!

visited here with my partner recently and we found the food to be incredibly disappointing, burger tasted like a supermarket frozen burger, chips had nothing to them and my partner had dusty dried chicken with disappointing chips, the glasses which contained our carbonated beverages had residue on them from christ knows where, i dread to think what it was considering what it looked like toilets were relatively clean, not many traces of fecal matter in the bowl and sinks were relatively clean with adequate hand washing facilities tables were slightly sticky, with what appeared to be residue of previous spillages and discharges on them chairs had some interesting stains, especially towards the front of the cushioned material carpets were as you’d expect, dirty and sticky, likely to have contained urinary substances at some point car park was adequate for the size of venue, however, there was vastly overgrown shrubbery occupying several spaces which forced me to park the rear of my car (2003 citroen C5 exclusive saloon in a rather fetching shade of metallic green) outside of the designated parking space, in thus doing so led to a larger possibility of a collision occurring between my parked vehicle and a passing motor vehicle upon entering the establishment i happened to note it seemed to be rather quiet, suspiciously so considering it’s close proximity to local amenities such as the Hartlepool Hospital i must admit, i would be rather reluctant to visit this food and beverage establishment again, i found it to be rather disappointing and it appears to require a visit from a regional manager to improve upon the quality of the food and beverages 1/10 will never visit again

The carvery is cheap and filling, a medium is massive you will not need a large, it's quiet and comfortable

My great-granddaughter had a great 2nd birthday here. In the soft play area . Then we went in to have a meal the staff made it even more special for her. When the manager brought the cake out, everyone Song happy birthday to her . A big thank you to everyone at the merry go round .

Went to the wacky warehouse soft play area bit bought the child a meal pizza chips and peas for £4.99 and two coffees for us adults came to £5.30 and a fruit shoot for 60p plus the entry fee for the child to go into the soft play area so what I am saying is to take the children to a soft play area for 1-hour you need a spare £20 which might not much to some people . but that's a lot of money to me . and that's a cheap place . some places will charge the child £9 just to go into the soft play area and £1 each for the adults to sit there watching . this is before you buy food and drinks .... (the fun shack) so it's the merry-go-round for me wacky warehouse Bit and I've also had meals on the other side as well the all-day breakfast is brilliant
