Come down twice a week as a childminder my children myself are always made welcome .The staff especially Sam go above and beyond to provide the service we need

Merry go round food is real nice,if you struggle paying full price for certain meals,then download the toogoodto go app you can get carvery meals meat or vegetarian on the app they usually have it for collection in the evening..if a meal was say £9 for one person you will get it a lot less for example £3 or less and your saving on food waste and also saving money

As a young family we come to the whacky often and absolutely love it, the staff are so friendly and will always go above and beyond, the set menu has a variety of food and the Carvery is incredible, everything is very affordable - thank you Steph and all the whacky girls for making every visit one to remember 😊

My first visit and it was amazing took my mam out for her birthday we had a carvery she carnt go far due to ill health so this was close by and I can't remember the last time I seen her smiled and she couldn't stop smiling loved every min of it and she eat all her meals and it a challenge to even get her to eat and she made room for desert I just like to thank you so much staff were amazing and U made my mam day and more so me as I had my mam eating and smiling and just bk to been my mam we will be bk very soon thank you so much again means a lot amazing place ever xxx

Brought grandson up to play in play area. Staff are lovely and friendly got us a table without any problems. They do snacks ice cream tea coffee etc but for a pint you need to go thro to bar and ask for a plastic glass If your hungry you can either order and eat in play area or they will reserve you a table Didn’t wait long for food which came hot Overall I will return as staff are lovely and treat you like an old friend

Cannot fault the staff, venue or food here! They go the extra mile every time we visit, Leanne the manageress is always extremely helpful and goes to every step needed to ensure you have a pleasant visit, she even tweeks my food to the way I like it. She looks after the bairns and we honestly feel at home when we go there

We booked in for breakfast with Santa today (21st December) and it was great. Cathy was a superstar as ever and arranged a brilliantly organised event with a wonderful Santa. We were allocated and taken to a table on arrival, breakfast was perfectly timed and tables were called one by one to see santa. It was great and will return if it's on again next year. Massive thanks especially to Cathy

Usual carvery fare, easy parking, play area for the kids and plenty of seating options, very quiet mid week.

Was there for lunch with my friend. Dan gave us 5 star service at the bar, making sure we got our order right and then later delivering our teas. Always feel so comfortable going there and we do frequent it regularly. We'll done Dan !!!

We visited to celebrate a 70th birthday. We were greeted by Jake who gave us a wonderful welcome. Three had carvery which was the best we have had in the area. All the veg was cooked to perfection and tasted divine. The meat was succulent and very tasty. Two had meals from the menu, ( Fish and chips, and a selection of small plates) both enjoyed them very much. We would all like to give our thanks and appreciation to Ginge the chef for the beautiful meal and all the staff for being so attentitive.

Been coming here for quiz nights on Tuesdays for a few weeks now and often get food and drinks as well. All the staff are fantastic but Lauren especially has been great!

The carvery is top class, beautifully presented and worth the price. The price for the largest plate is the same as for fish and chips at a very popular Seaton Carew venue. Pricey but excellent value for quality and quantity. The service is excellent - warm, friendly staff who are pleased to see you. Atmosphere is excellent too - diverse array of people always makes it interesting. Cannot speak highly enough of my local.

Lovely meal this afternoon. Great choice of food and drink! Especially loved the new festive drink choices. Carvery cooked to perfection and the steak pie always goes down a treat. Staff member called Keegan was also very helpful. Will be back again!

We had a fantastic carvery lunch at the Merry Go Round in Hartlepool. The food quality was excellent, with tender meats and a wide variety of sides and vegetables, ensuring something for everyone. Jake could not have been more accommodating. Having had ACL surgery I can't carry my drink, he has been caring for me the whole time. He and Lauren have shared in some jokes and made tonight memorable. Can't single their praises more. I live far but it feels like a local

Jake was extremely helpful. My friend and I came in for a quick drink after a physio appointment. One of us was on crutches and the other suffering from a rugby injury. He was kind and courteous bringing the drinks to the table. Lauren was also on the bar and was extreme friendly making our experience extremely pleasant. We will be back.

There is no chicken in the chicken strips! There extremely small and dry there really tuff to eat but the staff were kind they gave me a refund and bought me some new chips wich were nice- the carvery is worth the money tho. If you come here dont buy the food its storebort so stick to McDonalds!

I took my little boy here while waiting for my grandads hospital appointment. I had a lovely lady look after us, she went above and beyond and I wish I had her name. She asked if my little one wanted the left over milk from my coffee and got him some crayons and paper to keep him entertained. He ate the kids pasta which was lovely and I heard nothing but people saying how good the food was around me! Lovely surprise after trying to find somewhere to wait! Would recommend!

We went as a family I ordered chicken strips, half of them were cold awful food would never go back, i really did what to complain however I wouldn’t embarrass the bar staff it’s not there fault of the food if that’s what you could call it stay clear it’s awful wouldn’t give it to a dog, and all the comments some good some bad,, the bad ones how do we improve absolute joke

We went for a carvery and ended up staying to the quiz. It was fun and involved, games (jenga and snap) also prizes. Quiz master Ginge is a born for the roll. I'd recommend it to a really good night.

Came for a take out carvery and desert of apple pie and custard yesterday and both where absolutely gorgeous, the veg, meat and Yorkshire puddings where very tasty and fresh and there new roasties are a hit. I would definitely recommend this place for a dinner. Great quality for so little money.

Very dissapointed ordered steak meal off the GF menu supposed to come with jacket potatoe they bought out chips sent back and jacket potatoe appeared to be frozen wnd microwaved not nice , steak full of fat couldn’t eat half of it , corn on cob leathery dried up , partners meal chips half cold and salad old and brown , did tell staff who offered dessert but we didn’t want one very sad for Green King

This is a pub adjacent to Hartlepool hospital 🚑. As a result you get a lot of hospital staff and visitors eating there🍔. They do a good carvery giving value for money 👛 and often much needed sustenance after hours and hours in the hospital ✝️. The large throughput of people means the pub decor is grubby and drab ☹️. Food wise it is clean and hygienic👍. I have only ever had carvary because it is good value. You get window meat which is always a frustrating ☹️ (meat cut so thin you can see through it). Plenty of fresh vegetables and lovely Yorkshire puddings too. Cheers hope my review helps you 🍷🍷

Inexperienced bar staff who did not know what drink she was serving or which glass to use .And served drinks in Glasses that were dirty around the rims on all 3 drinks ..

This is a great family and friends pub,the carvery is all one would expect for a full roast great atmosphere and very reasonably priced, Also a great night for the young n old as a regular local , there's a pool table and a choice of slots and usual pub slot games which I can say I was lucky enough to of had a win on it as for the staff they are very attentive and friendly especially Dan whom by far is a credit to the establishment reminding us of offers we hadn't noticed and also helped us with how we can park free of charge and also so attentive while making me feel relaxed and welcome for myself with anxiety in public it is appreciated

2nd time for carvery, delicious. Lovely friendly staff. A bit noisy second time but midweek apparently kids go free. We found a quieter spot, loved it

Me and a friend went in today for a cold drink on the way home from town, and ended up staying for their carvery as it looked good. The food was lovely (I’m normally wary about carveries and how long the food has been sitting out but we saw everything being put out fresh). The roasties were to die for! I have to give a special mention to the young lady with the tattoos (I think her name was Karen?) - she even helped us carry our plates to our table, and although rushed off her feet, took the time to make sure people were served and happy. Ignore the fact it’s a chain pub, it’s a nice cosy place. We came on a weekday this time but make sure you get there early if you are wanting lunch on a Sunday as it gets absolutely packed (testament to how good their dinners are!)

Been here many of times and always thought the staff are very friendly, also the food is brilliant for the price however I'm leaving a 1 star review as this is more likely to be read due to the parking restrictions. This must be a new restriction that's just come in as it's never happened before when we've visited, so obviously we didn't realize there are signs in the car park (when you visit somewhere a lot in the past you're just in auto pilot) I also went through the door on the left and never noticed anything to sign our car in? Maybe put some notices up around the pub, on toilet doors, around the bar area in obvious places etc so people like us who aren't use to the restrictions are given chance to sign in and made aware of the parking restrictions! I have paid the parking charge now as it's £60 (reduced from £100 if paid within 14 days) but obviously I'm not happy about having to pay it as we were paying customers and came here for some food. EDIT: After speaking with the manager LeeAnn she gets the ticket dropped and a full refund.

Great staff, very friendly. Great food. Only drawback we just received a £100 car parking fine as we forgot to enter the registration. We will definitely be going again only this time we'll be entering our registration.

Only issues where the cheap horrible bacon which was totally covered in black/brown bits (people prefer clean appetising bacon), and the sticky dirty table (this was at a quiet period so no excuses for not cleaning), if these issues could be addressed you would have a banging breakfast......

Zoe is one of the happiest, friendly and welcoming bar staff I have ever met! Absolutely fantastic service and a lovely pint!

Arrived about 4:30/5pm the carvery was sold out, so we ordered off the main menu so we ordered 5 meals each meal came out about 15mins apart which isn't an issue however the chips where under cooked one meal was a pie which under cooked one meal was a chicken mix and match the chicken was over cooked, the next meal was a bacon cheese burger the bacon was undercooked and the burgers over cooked the bum was over toasted the only meal eaten to completion was a kids chicken nuggets and chips. I feel let down as the quality was nowhere near the levels I've had in the past. I wouldn't recommend the food at this time

Met friends for tea today, food on carvery was fresh and delicious. Lauren was very friendly and helpful.

the carvery looked like it was still from the day before, the potatoes were dried out now I know why it was not very busy. my wife and daughter were both very ill after eating there and needles to say will not be visiting again

Met family for breakfast, food looked and tasted great. Staff were all excellent but Jake with his friendliness and sense of humour stood out, all in our group commented on it.

Turn up to playing soft play which was good but the baby changing unit inside soft play are disgusting and they need updating Went into the restaurant for my dinner with family the carvery wasn't pleasant I left most of it The men who served me my meat on the carvery part spoken to me about children meals saying I have to start to pay which is normal anyway he then spoken to me like I was there 😳 But then he went into the kitchen to speak behind my back and I hard every conversation Wasn't happy at all 😮‍💨 Lucky enough I did say anything there and then Since the new manger took over it's gone right down

Came here for the play area and food with my little sister and she loved it, food was great and customer service was perfect swapped dessert after I made a mistake and ordered it wrong. Absolutely brilliant for a cheap kids day out 👍

Kathy lovely as ever. All staff are very hospitable and kind. My child loves the play area. Been here alot of years still the best value for money in the town, especially with the price of the month pass. Cheaper than a McDonald's I'd you have a month pass and buy food because of the 10% discount on food and drinks. Top place for a stop and a bite to eat.

Great morning spent at the soft play area at the Wacky Warehouse. The children made paper masks with Kathy who was helpful and brilliant with them throughout the visit. We even stayed for lunch which the children enjoyed.

This is a great spot for a meal after work. The staff are incredible, we got seated within a few minutes and the waiting times are almost non existent. All of our food was brought out in less than 30 minutes

We visited this pub as it had a soft play on site for my daughter and niece. I must say the staff were absolutely amazing, so friendly and nothing was a bother. The food was beautiful. I really could not fault this place at all. It’s a shame we don’t live locally as I’d be a regular visitor.
