Regular visitor to collect fish and chips for my elderly parents. Attitude from staff on the serving counter Friday 4/10 was disgusting. Rude. Getting orders wrong. Hope this is a one-off because it was not good enough.

Tzatziki sauce was disappointing and taste funny, should be done with a fresh cucumbers, not pickles. Very sour! All food undercook and bland.

I waited a long while for them to prepare curry and chips twice and a chip butty. I was going to ask at the counter how much longer I had to wait for such an easy request. Chips were ready as they were serving the sit in part so that wasn't a reason for the delay. The lady continued to take orders from the que but no one was making the orders up. The lady before me said she has waited 20 mins so far. Once I got home, I was shocked at how small the portion size was, especially for the chip butty. Approx 10 chips if I was lucky in the butty. I paid nearly £13!! I certainly won't be using this company again and will drive a little further for a better sized portion.

Gotta say I was really impressed with the fish and chips.... The fish was lovely and white and the batter was lovely and crispy... Its the best fish and chips I have had in a long time.... Also purchased the quiche salad to have later during the day and that also was lovely and fresh... Salad was lovely and crispy and not days old like some places send... Thanks guys I think this this will be my go to place now especially for fish and chips ☺️

Visited on Good Friday as I wasn’t able to stand in queues at our normal chippy so we decided to treat ourselves. Staff noticed I was on crutches and very quickly found us a seat close to entrance so we didn’t have to walk far. We both decided to have the small cod special at £11.99 each along with extra peas/beans. We did have quite a long wait for our food. The restaurant was reasonably busy but it wasn’t packed out. When it arrived my husbands portion was ok but mine was tiny. It wasn’t even a child sized portion. The food was delicious but at nearby £14 a portion I certainly expected more than what was effectively a large fish bite. I really should have complained in the shop but I’m quite ill and didn’t feel up to arguing in front of a busy shop. On the plus side the fish tasted beautiful. The chips were lovely golden home made ones. Mushy peas were tinned by were edible. I’d buy again if I were passing ( although perhaps not the fish but I wouldn’t come here specially.?

My friend treated me to lunch and it was really nice but I think for fish in a bun with chips and a bit of cold slaw and sauce and some salad and coffees £39 was a bit too much to pay I would expect that down south but not in Hartlepool

I ordered lunch for 12 members of staff. The order was delivered as requested with each item clearly labelled and requests regarding salad preferences noted. Food was delicious and we've all decided this is our new go to for lunch on Fridays. Thank you!

When some one personally asks not for a crust on cornbeef slice for the middle bit and their send it out with a massive crust On!!! Won’t be getting my money again this shop and it’s cold

wow amazing food, jacket potato with cheese and beans was melt in the mouth delicious and made me feel better, stotties are some of the best bread ive ever tried and of course jam and coconut cakes are really tasty, thank you and thank you to the polite delivery driver

I came here today hoping for a nice lunch with family before my shift at work I have to say that the customer service was good seats comfortable and music from the kitchen was good but that is also the prices for the portion sizes is shocking especially so when being charged £1 for a single slice of bread which is a joke alone then my fish was completely tasteless and chips extremely dry this establishment advertises how many awards they win for their fish and chips well quite frankly I have no idea who is voting for this but I assure you I will not be back at this cafe

Good quality award winning fish and chips, but the portion sizes have shrunk massively, and prices have risen .Too much, it's no longer an affordable alternative for a meal when visiting the town .Pity!!

Bought two ginger slices, which the lady behind the counter picked up with her fingers. There were tongs available for her to use. I should have asked her to use the tongs and for a replacement, but felt uncomfortable doing so. I just took them home and sliced off the edges where she’d handled them before eating.

Good. Large cod a bit small. Not much bigger than a half lot fish. Bit disappointed

Its a shame coz usually lovely this place, but yesterday me and the Mrs both got cornbeef slice chips and gravy. When it came the chips were rock hard . When the lad came over to ask if everything was ok I told him no the chips are disgusting. When I went to pay I was asked again and again I said no the chips rock hard . Between us both we eat about 5 chips . So we ended up paying £21 for 2 cornbeef slices and gravy really which is absolutely disgusting. Sad to say buy probably the last time we'll ever go 🤬

Large fish was tiny today. Same size as a half lot. Driver rung doorbell then ran off just leaving food on step. Very poor delivery service.

Hubby brought me here for breakfast and first visit to Establishment. Waited a while at sign which states "wait here to be seated" and eventually told to find a seat. Both had full English breakfast, not the best we have had. Eggs had crispy film on bottom so chewy (obviously put in too hot oil/pan to start cooking), egg shell on my plate (hubby noticed before I ate), Bacon overcooked, mushrooms tasteless, toast, hash browns and black pudding nice. Loved the booths seating. Loved the heart shaped shortbread biscuit which came with hot drinks. Didn't use toilet facilities (if they had as didn't look).

Friendly staff. The breakfast was 7 out of 10. Egg overcooked and wasn't keen on the mushrooms. Otherwise very nice.

Needed warming up. But was lovely. A minor blip as usually it’s spot on.

Great again cannot fault any of the food breakfasts or dinners big thumbs up!

Lovely clean & contemporary cafe/restaurant with disabled access. Tasty freshly cooked food served quickly by efficient friendly and helpful staff. My one and only complaint was paying £4.95 for a fairly ordinary hot chocolate drink with a squirt of cream a sprinkle of marshmallows. I will definitely be back, but will give the hot choc a miss.

You can see why they have won awards....very light and tasty crisp batter over very white fresh fish. We had cod & haddock and both just right. Menu was a bit confusing if you just wanted fish & chips on its own with no extras....could do with simplifying. Some choices over priced. Just go for good fish & chips .........as restaurant & toilets just plain. Service good.

Great fish, chips and mushy peas. The ordering system was easy to use and the food was still hot when it was delivered- all on time too. Absolutely no complaints and will use again in the future.

Fantastic! We popped in for a sit-down fish and chip meal on Thursday mid-afternoon. My husband ordered the regular fish and chips special, I ordered the small. The portions were great, the food was fresh and cooked perfectly and the batter melted in your mouth! I really liked the tartar sauce, it tasted homemade. This was our first visit but we will definitely return. The staff were friendly and the restaurant was lovely, bright and clean. I thought the prices were great too, especially given the quality. 10/10 from me.

Absolutely gorgeous. Very tasty. The chips were chunky and perfect not greasy at all. Corned beef pie lovely and peppery as were the peas and gravy. Highly recommended.

Food was good would of expected more chips with a large fish but its OK. Curry sauce wasn't great but that might be my taste buds, wish there was an option to order the tarter sauce as that's my favourite thing about this place when I eat in. Brownies were delicious

I went there today with my woman and a friend. We enjoyed the best full English. The only things was the mushroom should have been fried preferably rather than blanched but the hash browns were on another level. My Mrs also said she doesn't normally like sausages but the flat skinless sausage meat was amazing. Prices were reasonable and also some cheap deals on certain items. Point to note, they have won the best fish and chips for serval years since opening. Friendly staff. Clean and pleasant cafe, well decorated and modern. I haven't found a better cafe in Hartlepool yet and I would recommend you give this place a try.

Best fish I have had in a long time. Great deals small fish and chips, coffee or tea, ginger sponge or apple pies and custard 12.99. Fish pure white, can taste the freshness batter lovely. Staff welcoming qnd accommodating, very clean and plenty of space even when full.
