Always feel welcome here. The staff are very professional and hard working. Lovely meal, very efficient between courses. Good night all round.

Amazing night! Great atmosphere for the England match! Staff worked their arses off! Young Alby serving food and clearing tables never stopped all night! Lots of new faces tonight who just fit in and had a good time! I would recommend this pub to all!

Really excellent member of staff called Alby who went above and beyond throughout the day. He didn’t stop working and even discreetly brought out a birthday cake for one of our party. He is an absolute asset to the pub!

The floor staff was always on top of glasses and he was a positive person! The young lad has great customer service skill and would always go out of his way to help you when ever you needed it!

Bar person was very friendly and approachable. As I was at a funeral wake food was buffet which was nice. Atmosphere was what you would expect at a wake.

My mum and dad have been regulars for a while but we stopped coming due to the extortionate price rises of drinks and lack of effort in the food. We decided to give it a final chance as I’m back home for the weekend after giving it a break for some time. Unfortunately nothing has changed. We visit numerous marstons pubs in the town and this one is by far the most expensive for drinks and the least quality for food. Two other marstons in the town have promotional deal signs on there bar for people to enjoy but when asked here we were told sorry we only do our own deals, later to see the same promo signs just left to the side of the bar hidden out of the way. Drinks: served in warm glasses we seen get left on the side for a long time while staff cleaned the bar around them, then placed said dirty cloths upon the glasses and cleaning products around them. Prices are just so high I can’t justify drinking here when there are so many nicer pubs better priced in this lovely town. Food: It took 20 minutes for someone to clear out tables with food and plates from the people here before us (all plates left by them had merely a few bites and left also) we went to the bar to get served and it took 15 minutes and there was only us there. Two staff behind the bar were too busy talking to the owner who seemed more interested in sitting with costumers and getting drunk than running the pub unfortunately. Once finally getting served we waited 50 minutes for 1 mixed grill and two microwaved meals. Mixed grill was missing most things. It did not come with mushrooms, tomato or chicken. The sausages were rock hard and burnt black all the way through, my poor dad couldn’t even bite through it. The gammon was cold and seemed very undercooked. And my dad has not been off the toilet since. Chicken tikka curry. The sauce was piping hot but there were still frozen bits of chicken in it. The naan bread was rock hard and over cooked. The rice was all stuck together in a block and dry and somehow the papadum had burn marks on it. Beef burger. Burger itself was okay but the bun was stale and the lettuce seemed way past expiration and definitely were not fresh. I love homemade chips and was so excited for them but I could not even bite through half of them, certainly we’re not cooked properly. And to top it all off there were very long black/brow hairs wrapped in my burger. I’m so let down by this place. I was back home for only one night and just wanted a half decent place to relax with family unfortunately this is not a nice place at all. I would avoid at all costs. Atmosphere - it was okay at first but the more people that came in, seemed to leave there kids in the play area unattended while they had a drink which led to screaming kids running around the full pub and this did not stop. The table facing the bar were also so loud and obnoxious. Side note - when I used the women’s toilets there were used sanitary products all over the cubicle floors and sick in the other. I’ve been told this used to be so nice back in the day but I feel like they have just let it slip. On leaving, whoever is renting the flat above the pub was definitely smoking illegal substances as it’s all you could smell from near the child’s play area. I was not going to write this review on request of my parents however when they looked on this site it looks like most reviews are written by staff members working there enticing people to come and waste there money so this is my honest experience and we will not be back.

The pub serves pub classics, but what makes the place truly great, is the staff. They couldn't have been more helpful - our server (Shelly) was amazing.

Family friendly, dog friendly, home made chips with meals ~ can’t ask for much more than that, brilliant place with lovely food and polite friendly staff who are always happy to help. We will be back. Thank you

Came in with my misses and kids the other day was really pleased with the service we got the woman behind the bar was so helpful Wendy at making sure we was comfortable and happy had some food was really nice highly recommend the food the chef Darren was a nice lad and didn't lack of conversation I will be returning again and will be telling my friends and family about the good service

Family friendly pub. Great staff, brilliant atmosphere even better when they have live bands, visited on Saturday. Home made chips are to die for 🤤 yummy! We will definitely be returning, very soon.

Food service was absolutely shocking over an hour and half waiting for 3 currys. When we finally went up to the barman (as was busy so allowed them extra time) he apologized and said the order was never placed. He offered us a free drink each (which we said no too) and we waited for our food. Nice looking pub but service was bad

First time in today despite being quite local to it, it's just off the main routes so you tend to forget it exists. Had an excellent pint of Camerons Strongarm and we both had Steak and Mushroom Pie, Chips and Peas. Very good food. Adequate portion size, nice pie, excellent chips and a large helping of gravy. Considerably better the the last shocking pie offering at The Talpore and a few quid cheaper as well. Special mention to very very friendly and helpful service we received. Will definitely be going back here at some point. Five stars if the have a guest beer on draught next time I'm in. 😘

Live local, an absolute brilliant quiz night atmosphere hosted by Mark. What I like is it’s an old fashioned quiz based on trust so nothing to do with phones, and I’m pretty sure all adhere to it (well ish just found out) Highly recommend, and pints are spot on! Harvey the bar man is the boyo!!

Worst food ever, Hunters chicken absolutely no taste , under cooked onion rings. Stood at the bar for ten minutes while the barmaid in the green T-shirt was busy talking.

The food was ok, and the staff were lovely but there was a big gang of seriously drunk men shouting and we felt scared. A baby was crying after their screaming and shouting obscenities. This was a horrible experience

Fittest bar staff in the area! Love it here. Always come in here with my friends. More than happy to spend an hour or so chilling before I hit the town. The manager is awesome!

Came for a Sunday roast and it was amazing, portion size spot on and the taste was amazing. Definitely get your moneys worth.

Impromptu visit, had macaroni cheese with extra bacon 🥓, was lovely could have done with a little but more macaroni cheese as it was lovely. Service was quick, staff polite, and helpful. It was a quiz night, which was enjoyable. No longer live in the area but will visit again when back home.

It's where I had my first pint (Strongarm) so always fond memories. The Strongarm is still fab and the place is welcoming and happy

We booked a table for 18 of us we where asked if we wanted all food to come out together we said urs please it still come out in dribs and drabs salad was only lettuce nothing else food didn’t look good on plates wrong orders where brought out my brother got fish,chips n mushy pea they where dry and crusty had to ask for more peas service wasn’t great at all

The Greenside is a warm and welcoming venue with so many lovely people and attentive, professional, and friendly staff. Darren had served me at the bar and was a fabulous barman. Allison is the landlord and spends a lot of time with customers to make everyone feel welcome. They had karaoke and disco on, and it was such an amazing atmosphere with great music and some really good singers. All in all, I had a great night and will have many more to come. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Been going ere for years, it's OK.

Went for lunch at 12 ish, was told there was a wait on food as the chef had just arrived. Waited 45 minutes for 2 meals, the scampi came out grey, sent it back then was told it was cooked when it came back, I told them it wasn't, they told me it was probed and at the correct temperature, i told them fish shouldnt be grey and they eventually did me a fresh meal while the person I was with had already finished their meal.

What a lovely young man Nathan is. Very pleasant and nothing was a problem. Will be back soon.
