Very impressed with the food! We had to drop our car at the mechanic and decided to walk around to find a breakfast spot when we stumbled upon Weatherspoons. We had heard their prices were reasonable and decided to give them a try, but walking in we almost walked out again. The venue looked tacky, the table we sat at by the window was covered in crumbs which we decided to wipe off with a tissue. We had a look at the sticky menus on the table and decided on our breakfasts. The staff were friendly. The hot chocolate from the dispensing machine das weak but the cappuccino was good. Breakfast was served with a smile and was very fresh and tasty. Will definately try another branch.

Typical spoons, cheaper beer in reasonable surroundings. The small booths were incredibly uncomfortable to sit at and the far end of the pub the tables were packed in. Not one of the best spoons we have visited.

We wanted two small pizzas and a portion of chips and got exactly that! Everything was probably cooked in an industrial air fryer, but it tasted good. Everything was hot and arrived after five minutes. We bought a bottle of wine and a real ale. Both were excellent. The atmosphere was okay, but it was a fairly quiet Sunday night.

My favourite port of call after a shopping visit to the town centre. A good place for meeting friends who do much the same.

It's very rare that I'm disappointed by a Wetherspoons and yet again they have done well. The value for food and drink remains good though is inevitably less impressive than it was a year or so ago.The table ordering app makes things a lot easier if you are by yourself and trying to keep your valuables safe while ordering. This branch could possibly do with condiments at each side of the venue. The only thing that this and many other venues needs to improve is a quick wipe of tables and removal of used napkins in between customers as we'd rather not have someone else's spillages still clearly visible. This happens a lot at this and other Spoons. I'd also suggest that Spoons should be courageous and innovate by sourcing good classical music to drink and eat so that the background atmosphere at all venues is improved in a different way to other pubs. There will be some too level students studying .music who are also your customers who would relish being paid to put together steady up beat classical music that does not need a PRS licence.

Surprised, it's not my usual go-to pub grub in Hartlepool we, but I tried it for a change. For what it is a large pub very few people on a Thursday lunch time. Just grabbed a quick bite to eat, a drink soup & a main less than £30 for 2 so. Cannot grumble on that.

Popped into this place for a meal (lunch). Found the app too annoying to use so I ordered the old school way (at the bar). Plenty of spaces if you like spacious fine dining. I opted to sit near the escape doors at the back of the venue as the last time I was in the same venue it got pretty ugly, and although this time my visit was during the day, I opted for safety over risk. Anyway. It is very cheap. Two meals and two drinks for just over £10. That's fantastic if you're on a budget, however, my meal wasn't edible. Additionally, the staff who served the meals practically threw the dishes at us, now, I'm not sure if she was practising her discuss throwing skills or she was just having a bad day; either way, it kept me on my toes within regards to catching the plate. I did need the toilet whilst there. The journey to the ladies took me as far as Peterlee, I'm sure, but the toilets were very clean, if not as cold as a mortuary. The back is quite pleasing on the eye. I can imagine it being busy and adventurous in the summer. Best thing about my visit here was definitely leaving. Interesting experience nonetheless.

First time visiting this place, nice bar I visited on a midweek afternoon just for food and a soft drink the serve was good and so was the food, I would recommend it.

The pub was fine but that fat doorman with the dut needs to get some manners.. Spoilt the evening.

A smashing Wetherspoons where I had a large breakfast on my birthday. One of the best 'Spoons I've ever eaten in. You know what you're getting at Spoons, but breakfast was fantastic & better than the buffet selection at the Premier Inn. Very friendly service and a great lay out to enjoy a lovely leisurely breakfast.. Highly recommended

Me and my wife only really visit around 9am for breakfast but the service is always quick and the food is very tasty. It is out go to pub for breakfast

Perfect place for God to host a party, it's a family affair. Guiness Beer is a medical remedy, thus saith the LORD.

We only had drinks as this was the last spoons on a day trip doing seaham & peterlee.Bar staff were polite and efficient and kept house tidy.

Typical spoons, get what you pay for, it alright but could do with a good general clean especially under the tables. Food is ok, generally on the smaller side portion wise I'd say but the cheaper drink still makes it a decent 'go-to' to start the night off.

One of the better Weatherspoons. Great space and atmosphere and with the large plate glass windows looking out on the church opposite really pleasant place to sit and have a meal and a drink. The menu is the standard Weatherspoons menu and the staff and service are as you would expect.

It's a wetherspoon so we know the drill. Pleasant enough place. Impressed with the well appointed beer garden

To describe the breakfast with a single word, the one I would choose is " disappointing ". Cold toast Watery beans Eggs had zero flavour and were strangly watery for fried eggs ( obviously the cheapest battery farmed kind) Deep fried sausage that had been burnt. Hash browns were sickly with oil. I think that the bacon had been cooked on the windowsill using only the Autumn sky . To top it off, the milk that comes from the coffee machine for a cup of tea comes out foamy.....foamy tea! It suited the grim atmosphere, surrounding me in all directions were lonely men nursing their 2 pints at a time orders. Sadness was thick in the air in this dimly lit orifice of the once thriving area.

First time there and no issues what so ever, everything was good, friendly staff, people, atmosphere, food and enough beer variety to please everyone so what's not to like.

Why is the air conditioning on it's baltic??? You have to go outside for a warm,asked the staff and got a blank response oh sorry it's on a timer, OK switch it off 👍

There was no table service outside (which isn’t a problem) although there was one sign on the door that wasn’t noticeable. This resulted in customers (as well as me) being turned away after ordering drinks from the bar and paying for them. The manager was miserable and was not helpful in the slightest. She was snappy and unable to have simple respect for the customers. Overall, a waste of money and time.

We found a quiet corner, away from the hubbub of noise, where a conversation over lunch was enjoyed. The food was served effectively and quickly.

Enjoyed a visit here last week before Hartlepool vs Middlesbrough match. Despite the bar being really busy service was relatively quick via the app. We had a pizza and pint, delicious pepperoni pizza which would actually put the likes of pizza express to shame. Lots of topping and really nicely cooked. Including a pint just £11 which is extremely good value.

By far best breakfast of any Spoons. Guys could do with grilling or oven cooking the mushrooms with little oil instead of boiling them but that's just my preference for flavour though everything else spot on

Almost nothing in stock and staff were a bit rude when discussing replacement. A replacement that never came.

I popped in for a breakfast bap and unlimited tea/coffee and hot chocolate. Bap was tasty and I sure can drink a lot when it's included with free refills. A good experience and one I will repeat.

Spot on meals and drinks for spot on prices, plenty of stairs on the way to thr toilet to help you burn off the food and drink after too. Staff are OK and it's always clean as a whistle.

I previously gave 5 stars but although I still really enjoy this place and it's food the lack of actual eggs for breakfast and other dishes is somewhat ludicrous.2nd week in a row NO EGGS GET A GRIP AND GO OUT AND BLOODY BUY SOME. SHOCKING MANAGEMENT! Lost revenue for the business as just seen a large group leave then ourselves.

Seats need to be reallocated and redesigned. We always end up sat by the disabled toilet, where people leave the door open and you get wifts of bog air.

Lovely food, curry club was well worth it. Loads of seating to choose from, toilets were lovely and very clean. Great atmosphere and the staff were helpful and friendly. Will definitely be back 😄

Ver poor quality of food on Friday 11 mzy 2923 quite disgusted as went with an extremely vulnerable lady who wanted to go there especially for her birthday no advise given to her on what was included in the meal so came with no salad with steak. There between 12pm and 2pm not in a rush to go back food was only adequate. Thank you

SHOCKING, TOTALLY UNCALLED FOR & UNNECESSARY VERBAL ABUSE I RECEIVED TONIGHT FROM A MANAGER, I WAS INFORMED WAS CALLED POLLY..... DISGRACEFUL!! Having already spent an hour or so in the Ward Jackson tonight with a good friend, had a meal & a couple of drinks. I go to the bar to order some more drinks (I was only drinking Diet Coke all evening). Nobody behind the bar serving so I go & stand to where the till is. I waited at least over 5 minutes & still nobody came to serve me. I appreciate the staff could be busy behind the bar & unaware I was waiting to be served. I knocked on the bar counter to see if I could attract anyone’s attention.... This young girl comes racing from the bar seating area to the end of the bar shouting aggressively down to me, in front of customers, “Oi, don’t you be knocking on the bar, you can’t do that! Obviously I’m totally embarrassed as all the customers turn to look at me. The 2 nearest gentleman customers to me actually squirmed with embarrassment for me. Not wanting to escalate things, I actually smiled & apologised to this girl for knocking on the bar, stating I had waited patiently to be served but nobody was there. Still stood at the end of the bar.... she shouts back at me...., “I was only gone 2 minutes & I’m not serving you!! WOW!, I returned to my friend, finished my drink & was getting ready to leave. I became aware, for whatever reason I simply don’t know, but this girl was stood behind the bar glaring at me. I was never rude or sarcastic towards her, I wasn’t drunk or had made a nuisance of myself. I have to admit though, I couldn’t resist going up to her at the bar, gave her a wink, knocked on the bar twice & said goodnight........... I had a little chuckle to myself walking out as she was screaming at me, “GET OUT, GET OUT!!

We popped in for a spot of lunch, I was fine with my ham egg and chips, but my wife found the small fish and chips very hard chew and did not like it at all,,,,, no one came over to ask us if all was okay,, as they usually do,, very very disappointed with Ward Jacksons at Hartlepool.... May not go back to that Weatherspoons.

Decent beer selection. Don't mind this place on an afternoon or early evening but avoid like the plague on a Friday and Saturday evening.

Disabled access good food and service excellent

Come here quite often for food but unfortunately never again. Four of us had meals and every one of them was awful. Especially the steaks. I wouldn't like to order one well done because the medium rare was like an old boot. And three quarters of it was fat. Sons pizza was burnt to a crisp. We Ended up leaving and more hungry then when we came again. Kitchen staff obviously don't have a clue what they are doing. And lost regular custom.

I purchased 2 meals yesterday .my husband was missing an item and I received a few chips in a bowl .they looked like leftovers of another table .a waste of my money !!!
