We live in the village. Keen to support local business ... but sorry... Awful. The food was awful! Dry and old. They did offer an alternative but it was SO awful that I was happy to leave. Never again.

We tried to go back as a party of five while in Saundersfoot this August but, as other reviewers have commented, it was closed. We phoned to find out if it would reopen and were told it was closed because of staff shortage. Interesting that the website now says it's being restructured.... They lost a lot of business this summer.

We rather fancied visiting this restaurant from looking at its website and were disappointed to find it closed. It didn't have a notice of when it was due to reopen either.

Does anyone know when this place opens again as it currently says on their web site they are closed for a return ?

I had seen many pictures of the food served here on Facebook and Instagram and decided it was definitely a place to visit. So when my friend and brother were down off the four of us went. We had a seafood platter for two, a COD and chips and a brisket. The seafood platter was a little tasteless and the overwhelming aftertaste was just of fried food. There wasn’t really enough to share either e.g. 3 cod balls .... the brisket was also tasteless and small but looked amazing. The cod and chips were however delicious and in fairness the cod was a big piece of fish. Lovely room with views of the coast but despite interesting decor the place lacked atmosphere and the staff seemed disinterested. I was so disappointed especially as friends had raves about it. I shall give it another shot as I think that’s only fair.

Visit for a family birthday meal some of the food was cold, other items never arrived, I thought the place had gone down hill from it revamp wouldn't waste your time or money.

Great little restaurant on the beach in Saundersfoot. It’s a surf and turf style venue, but plenty of fresh seafood meals, burgers, sandwiches and freeky shakes. Great for families of all ages wanting something uncomplicated to satisfy their hunger. Some vegetarian meals on the menu too. Worth a visit if you are in town.

Booked here for our family and although the food is lovely (mainly burgers chips etc) I have to say it is a bit more expensive than most places given the fact it is bbq food! I cannot fault the burger and the sweet potato fries were lovely! Our waitress was very nice and chatty however the guy who took payment for our bill was quite rude and muttered a few things under his breath which has made us decide we won’t be returning.

Group of 16. Fabulous meals had by all. All very fresh and hot. Wonderful location. Excellent service.

We were in Saundersfoot for our holiday. We were struggling to find a place to eat in the end,we decided to go to beachside barbecue. We walked upstairs to the restaurant and asked if we would like to be seated. A waitress showed us to our table and we were given two menus too look through. Another waitress took our drinks and our food order. We decided on the half and half meat platter. Which came with chips, ribs, burnt ends, pulled pork, coleslaw and a side salad. It Didn't take too long for our food to arrive. When the food came it looked quite good and there was lots of it too. As I was portioning the meal out for me and my partner, I discovered the side salad had started too decompose which was disgusting. I went and spoke to the manager who very kindly went and got a replacement side salad which was very appreciated. As we decided to dig in we tried all the different meats on the platter. We were disappointed with the food as most of the items came with a barbecue sauce on which we thought was too tomatoey and strong taste . It messed the taste of the meat which was very disappointing . All in all service was good but the food was lacking unfortunately . Wouldn't really recommend sorry too say

On our first visit i had the burger and my wife the chicken burger,both very good and tasty,our second visit and we went for the fish and chips and again very good.This is a more relaxed and easy going place than some but with the views and the good food well worth a visit.

Visited Saundersfoot with the family today spent the afternoon on the beach then called in here for food before going home. Unbelievable fair play, great setting and lovely food. Portions were spot on as well and the kids loved it. Will be back again.

We stumbled across this place at the end of march and loved it so much we visited again this weekend with our children and my parents. We ordered the mixed grilled fish platter and the mixed meat platter! Wonderful food! Really really delicious. Great service from Holly (could have been Kelly - sorry), she was particularly good with the children! Puddings were fabulous! And that's not even mentioning the view, which is worth going for alone. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place!

Fab food, great service. Fab for groups, families. Not a romantic place for couples, but there are plenty of places in the village that cater for that. The food is delicious, honest and great value.

Clean and great views, but battered fish was very greasy. The food quality was adequate for a family meal with younger members, but not for an evening meal out.

The food was well presented,very hot and more than sufficient for our requirements.I had the garlic mushrooms followed by the hake both of which were most enjoyable.The staff were very jolly.

Service was quite slow. Diet coke was flat, rack of ribs very bland. My wife did say the fish and chips were good.

Had really delicious food at the Beachside Barbecue. The fish dishes are especially good as the fish is do fresh. Good value for money and would recommend .

Visited Beachside Barbeque on final night of our holiday and enjoyed a lovely meal whilst looking out over Saundersfoot beach. The service was friendly and the food was delicious including bare back ribs and the fish burger. We would definitely recommend especially meat lovers.

We visited on Friday evening- gave our name and were seated without another word from the young man who just left two menus on our table and walked off. We ordered drinks - were told to go and look at the specials menu as the person who took our order could not remember them. No enthusiasm or interaction! The food was really good - we both had a burger. The restaurant was almost empty ( this was around 8pm) and lacked atmosphere. I think they are missing something- staff who lacked interest or maybe just tired after a long day - didn’t know the specials - just lacking interest and enthusiasm. Don’t get me wrong I don’t expect staff to rock up and entertain me but they should at least look like they want to be there!

We booked a table on line for 6pm two days before as we had been warned that it gets very busy! The table they gave us was lovely, right in the window looking out onto the beach. There was a colouring sheet for the children which kept them entertained while we waited for the food. I ate off the specials board but to be honest I could have chosen at least 5 things off the menu. I had a chilli gourmet hot dog with sweet potato fries. It was delicious Great value food, and I would definitely recommend.

Found this by looking at Trip Advisor for some restaurants. Was not disappointed. We booked online for the following evening. We turned up early but that wasn't a problem, had a lovely seaside view. The menu is extensive plus there is a specials showing the fresh fish of the day. We settled on the bbq meat platter, the brisket and pulled pork was delicious, plus the new potato and garlic gratin was fabulous. Didn't have room for dessert unfortunately! Would thoroughly recommend.

It was nice to find a beachside restaurant that specialises in something other than seafood, thogh they do that too. Great brisket, ribs and pulled pork, interesting and tasty sides too. Lovely attentive and enthusiastic staff. I'd highly recommend to all lovers of bbq. All in a great setting, sitting watching the tide roll in.

We came here on our 1st night of our holiday and the meal was great. Real tasty food. The service was great, very friendly and checking everything was ok. Would recommend anyone trying this place. We had one vegetarian with us who found plenty to eat and said it was yummy.

Visited on the last night of our week in Saundersfoot after walking past many times. The interior proved to be much nicer than expected from the outside.

Popped in initially for a coffee as we'd not decided where to have a bite to eat. Spotted a firm favourite on the menu with the cod, chips and all the trimmings and so decided to stay and enjoy the gorgeous view of the ebbing tide. So glad we did as the food and service was exceptional. The lovely crispy cod and chips was beautifully presented with a pot of mushy peas, tartar sauce and a lovely little side salad. Special shout out for the friendly service we had from Monica, Luke and the other lovely lady (sorry did not catch your name) who served us. Compliments to Chef Natalia and all the team as I think we might be returning soon.

We went for a fancy fish and chips and we're really pleased, I'm going back for the burnt ends and a burger next time but we'll worth a visit

This is the first time I’ve visited beachside barbecue but I will definitely come back. We reserved a table as it was bank holiday and very busy. We were seated at a window booth with glorious views across the beach. Our waitress took drinks orders and left us to view the menu, there is also a fish specials board. The menu has lots of choice - burgers, ribs, fish etc. We just went for a main meal (there’s no way we would’ve managed another course, portions are generous!) . I had the fish burger which was served in a delicious brioche bun with a king prawn, calamari and homemade chips. It was absolutely delicious and very filling! Our waitress was lovely , very friendly and efficient. We will be back soon

What can I say!! Amazing food from start to finish. Impeccable service and a view to die for! This was our first time visiting and we will definitely be back. We didn't bother with a starter as we knew the meals were huge from the restaurant's Facebook posts. I had the 2 meat platter and chose the ribs & Brisket, it was heaven on a plate.

We had a table booked for 6 on Easter Sunday and we were sat by the window, watching the tide come in very quickly. Beautiful views out the window, complemented with good dishes. Happy days 👍🏾

Many years ago, this place was called The Mermaid and we ate here regularly. I can remember exactly where I was sitting when I first tasted chocolate fudge cake and decided this was the best place in the world.

Lovely place with great view, and nice atmosphere. Food prices were affordable. I expected them to be more expensive because of it's beach front location. I had the beer battered cod and chips which was a was around £12 and was a big portion which i couldn't finish! I wanted to have the fresh fish but unfortunately they had sold out when I had came in at 8:45pm so I guess if you want fresh fish it's better to come in earlier as the waiter told me that the fresh fish is delivered most mornings. The kids also loved the freakshakes!

We came here on Good Friday having been attracted by the idea of barbecued fish by the sea. However we were informed they no fish, except frozen scampi! Two of us then opted for the shared barbecued mixed meat platter, with three separate meats and sides. The portions were minuscule. 5 pork ribs between two of us and only about 3 inches long. The poor piggy didn’t have a long life! There were about 10 chips between 2 of us. Indeed my 4 year old grandson’s chicken and chips had more chips.

We eat here on the Easter Weekend and I had a brisket of beef which was so tough it might have been the favourite at Newmarket in it's lifetime? The first mouthful was tough and chewy and when I tried to swallow it just couldn't go down, I thought I was going to need the Heimlich Manoeuvre but my body rejected it by it'self, all over the floor, along with the wine that I'd tried to wash it down with. The staff were very amused by this and I couldn't eat any more so I was surprised to find they had charged us the full amount, not even a discount, if you value your life don't ear here!

Came here on Sunday. Staff really friendly and a great location with amazing views of Saundersfoot beach and harbour. I had the ‘Risk it for a Brisket’ burger which was amazing but massive, couldn’t finish my chips or have room for dessert! My wife had the burger of the month ‘the buttermilk chicken breast burger’ which she said was delicious! Can’t wait to come back when we’re back In Saundersfoot in the summer!

Have visited many times as we have caravan near by and never fails to deliver. Fantastic food, polite staff and great decor. Looking forward to our next time.

Food was expensive. I think you pay for location. 3 of us had a main course and a drink and cost nearly £70. To me that is expensive. Ok for a treat but would not return.

Visited with family, not very welcoming, the lad was happy to point out the tables rather than take us personally to show what was available. The food was below average and not cheap, I was still hungry afterwards, one of the milk shakes came without the strawberry and I was advised it fell off, no effort to replace?

Super position overlooking the sea, excellent staff and nice family atmosphere. Generous portions although vegetables were in short supply. The toilets were grotty and I saw a staff member leave without washing her hands, which begs the question whether kitchen hygiene is up to standard. However, the ambience was good and we enjoyed our evening.

Got sat by the window, very happy about that as we had a beautiful view. Service is a bit slow as something happened in the kitchen, But offered us complementary alcoholic drinks for the wait. Food was very delicious if you are a meat lover, not bad prices considering the size of the portions.

Really good food, excellent portion sizes, reasonably priced and all with a fab view! Access for disabled or those with mobility issues is tricky but we managed up the stairs just fine.

Highly recommended! The location is amazing. Right on the beach front with fantastic views. The menu is family focussed with burgers, ribs, pulled pork sandwich, etc. at reasonable prices. The staff are very welcoming and the service is efficient and friendly. We have been back twice this week. Pay & Display car park alongside. Could be difficult for anyone with accessibility challenges as steep staircase to enter and also more steps up to toilets.

Booked to stay at the St.Brides Hotel for a surprise birthday treat for my wife and decided to eat at the Beach Side Barbecue as it is affiliated with the Hotel.Well I wish we had not taken this option up.

Never asked for our order. Went to bar. Ordered and asked for tap water. Water never turned up. Walked out.

Went here with family as part of the Cawl festival. I thought it should have won! Friendly staff with a great accordionist on the day we visited. Will be back later this year.

Just returned from a visit to Pembrokeshire with some friends and unfortunately brought the bad weather with us from Manchester so stopped off in Saundersfoot for a bite to eat and to get out of the rain. It was mid-afternoon, around 4 o'clock, and much quieter than I expected for a Saturday. Service was good and the food was tasty, no complaints from any of the group.

We called after a morning walking on the beach , very America menu as the name suggests but as it was Sunday I opted for the beef brisket lunch , the beef was plentiful the Yorkshire pudding as light as air was made at the restaurant the cabbage with smoked bacon was delicious as was the fondant potato and roasties ,gravy came on the lunch as well as an extra jug of it , thick and tasty just like granny’s .my husband had the fish chips mushy peas with chunky tartare sauce the batter was light fish white and chunky was also boneless and skinless , chips were fab thick chunky with just the right amount of seasoning , the desert menu looked good but had no room , potions are generous , can’t wait to visit again , staff very helpful and views fabulous .

We had visited this restaurant before and we hadn’t had a good meal but we thought we would give it another go and wow were we glad we did. Service was friendly and quick . We ordered the platter(3) between two of us we had smoked sausage burnt ends and brisket with salad chips and corn on cob . It was massive brisket was melt in the mouth and 2 big sausages only problem was Iwe didn’t realise burnt ends came in a sauce which was very strong but waitress apologised and offered us ones without sauce or something else so we had more brisket in onion broth which was delicious. Drinks are quite expensive compared to most bars and there isn’t much choice in lagers but we will definitely visit again soon

The menu sums up the restaurant really. Mainly grilled food in decent quantities at decent prices. No frills but appetising food. So if you like what's on offer, this is the place for you! Service was friendly and efficient.

Decided to go to Beachside Barbecue after walking past after a day on the beach. Have to say they have a great location, couldn’t be any closer to the beach! Had delicious barbecue food with a great view to go with it. Kids and the adults in our party thoroughly enjoyed our meals and looking forward to coming back when we’re back in the summer.

Amazing view of the beach if you’re able to get the best seats. Great food, didn’t have to wait long and were looked after well by the staff. Glad to have come back!

Me and my husband have been wanting to try this place for a while. So we arranged a babysitter and booked a table.

Popped in on Saturday night for a quick bite to eat. Husband had a burger with cheese and bacon which was outstanding, while I had the platter. The ribs were the best I've ever tasted!! Served by a lovely young waitress. Only comment would be to dim the lights a little for us romantically

We came here for a spot of casual lunch while waiting to check in at St Brides Hotel. We had some very nice fish & chips with a few craft beers while looking out into the ocean. Service was very good indeed and cost is very reasonable considering the quality of the food & location. Great restaurant we’ll definitely return.

My partner and I went to the Beachside Barbecue in early January, I was getting over the flu, so he took me here for a meal. (I think he was fed up of beans on toast!). It was early evening.

We visited out of season, just as the Christmas decorations were being put up. Although the place was quiet, it didn't feel as if this was likely due to anything wrong, just the time of year.

We had a great family meal there over the festive food festival weekend. Great menu and food served with fabulous service. Would definitely return its one of our favourite places to eat in Saundersfoot!

We booked lunch. Lovely views. Ordered fish burger. Fish in batter, topped with calamari rings & prawns. Very tasty & generous servings. Partner ordered battered cod & chips, large portion fish in thin tasty batter.

We had a wonderful evening tonight.We were a large group of 22 and were service was excellent. The food was great and there was something for even the pickiest eater. Would highly recommend!

Went for lunch. Staff very helpful and friendly. Great tasting food and lots of choice. Good views of the beach.

We visited as a party of 12. The food took over an hour to arrive despite pre booking the table. We ordered ribs, however these had to be sent back to the kitchen as inedible (we could not even pull them apart!). When sent back, the waitress did offer us to exchange for something else off the menu, but then said we would have to wait a long time and offered to leave just the chips?! We declined. Other ribs were burnt and over done, again, childrens ribs inedible. Those, who ordered fish however, were pleased with choice. Also, the San Miguel was warm, we had to add ice. Such a shame as a beautiful location and view. Personally, we feel they could not cope with the large number on a busy New Years Day...not a good meal for the first of a New Year!

Hadn't booked but ate here tonight - the food was awesome, very good ribs and chilli brisket burger. Great tasty food. Excellent service. The place was lively and nicely decorated too. We will be back with the kids, as they will love this place x

I’ve spotted this restaurant a few times when visiting Saundersfoot and just assumed it was a fish restaurant which is my worst nightmare. This evening however we thought we’d give it a try. I’m veggie and had the halloumi and beetroot burger. The bun came with branding on top which I thought was a really nice touch. The chips had an amazing seasoning on them. My partner had brisket and burnt ends and was really pleased with what he got. We were both stuffed by the end. The food was good quality, tasty and plentiful in portion size. I’d definitely recommend.

Just piped in for a drink nicely decorated good views even on a damp December day, nice tea good milkshakes and completely popcorn!

A great venue for families. Children are well catered for, and a warm welcome is guaranteed. The food is good, the service is friendly and the view is stunning.

Had extremely lovely food here this weekend. Macaroni sauce was amazing, parents first time trying this restaurant and they were happy!

You are hard pushed to find decent fish and chips in Saundersfoot despite its location but at the Beachside the fish is good with crispy batter.Not sure if the chef has changed as we have eaten here many times but the food seems to be nicer? Great views over the beach & friendly staff.

On a wet October evening the BSBBQ looked inviting. On entering the staff were welcoming and the interior décor clean and in theme.

Booked a table due to local firework attractions that night, and glad we did. The table was waiting for us on arrival. We had a great table which had excellent sea views , as most of the tables around the outer edge. Staff were friendly and knowledgable about the menu. The food was good arrived in a timely manner, not the cheapest but the views and the food quality made up for it. Would return.

I visited here with my family in our weekend break. I found it difficult to access with all the steps, but once we were seated I realised it was definitely worth it! The view was beautiful, and the staff were great. We ordered two specials and a kid's meal. I had sea bass and my partner had sea bream. My son had prawns. The meals were amazing! The best meal I've eaten in a long time. We will definitely return when in the area.

There was plenty of choice at the restaurant and the views from the window seats were lovely. The staff were helpful and although the food took a little time to arrive it was worth it. Opting for ribs and bbq sauce I was pleasantly surprised (as I don’t like bbq or ribs) but I wanted to try something different. They was lovely, I think they could have been a bit more falling off the bone but nice none the less and I’d have them again which is always a good sign. The seasonal chips were good too as was the coleslaw and salad. Overall I’d say it was a lovely lunch, and a reasonable choice for the children, and alterations in sides were not frowned upon. Nice atmosphere, colouring for the little ones and a fab view from the ladies loo. What more could you want. I would recommend this place if you’re in the area and want a nice lunch.

My fiancé and I visited during the horrid weather in July. We had a platter to share and were able to choose three meat options - we recommend the burnt ends! Service was great and as soon as a table cleared the waitress offered us the opportunity to move to a table in the window, which we accepted. Definitely worth a visit but not quite five stars only because there was nothing that made us go wow.

Last time we ate here here it was an excellent fish restaurant, now it's just a place that flavours everything with smoke! We were assured the place had changed its style but not owner or managment, so gave it a go thinking the high standard would still apply. Life's full of dsappointments eh? When you are in a resort for one week, it's annoying when one of the evening out is wasted!

Overall service along with food and drink was excellent. From our server to our food it was all a very high standard. Will certainly be going back. Smoked food to die for!!

Mainly bbq as the name would suggest, with some daily fish specials. We went mid week but booking would be advisable at weekends and busy periods. Unfortunately, several of the dishes we requested were not available which suggests a problem with ordering and stock control. We found the bbq sauce quite acidic, almost unpleasant. Friendly, efficient staff and cheerful surroundings. Be aware that parking on the harbour is pay and display, regardless of the time of day.

Went to the Beachside BBQ with family. Lots of choice on the menu and I went for the pasta. The linguine was well cooked and very tasty. The loaded burgers looked fantastic and served with a homemade coleslaw. The waitress was very helpful and attentive. A great place to take the family.

Popped in on a Saturday night in October and not busy at all. We were shown a table and given menus and talked through the menu by a really lovely lady.

Very good food, well priced, a good menu and brillant staff. Ate here 3 times in a week, at busy times and quiet and service still good on all occasions

7 of us had large circular table which could have easily sat more with stunning views. The food was tasty and plentiful and there was a good choice. The 2 vegetarians were impressed with a halloumi burger and particularly good macaroni cheese. The cheesy potato side dish was delicious. The service was excellent. Unpretentious place with a nice atmosphere. A treat, thank you.

In daylight this has sea and harbour views. I ate a delicous beetroot rissoto with grilled salmon. and daughter had the garlic mushromm bruchetta. both portions were ample. The staff were very friendly. This is a no frills restaurant suitable for the family.

Hadn't eaten here for about 10 years, when it was much more of a fish restaurant than it is today. But seeing the menu online, and seeing it was now owned by the same company that owns the St, Brides we thought we'd give it a try.

We visited this restaurant on a Tuesday evening. The restaurant is well decorated and has fabulous views of Saundersfoot beach. We ordered our meals, steak, BBQ platter, Burger and Cod. The food arrived hot and there was plenty of it. All of it absolutely delicious. The best cod and chips I’ve had the whole time we have been visiting the area. The pudding menu isn’t very extensive, but we didn’t have any room left for dessert! The only downside is it isn’t accessible if you have mobility problems. There is a large flight of stairs to get to the restaurant and another very steep set up to the toilets.

We popped by for a light bite one evening which the staff were happy to serve. The view over the beach is amazing and I loved the 1950s music playing in the background. Great décor but the food and service a little average.

We visited last night for a meal as a couple. As soon as we walked into the restaurant the decor and beachy touches really caught our eye!

Visited with my parents whilst on holiday last week. Wasn’t sure if my dad especially would like it but he loved it. We all did. Food was lovely. Super tender ribs and not too much sauce. Portion sizes are just right. The platters are perfect. Can’t beat those views on a nice day too.

We were here at lunchtime and had glorious views over the beach. We hadn't booked and were promptly shown to a table and introduced to the menu. Explaining our Coeliac (gluten free by diagnosis, not choice) was easy - a full allergen table was offered as well as a description by the server.

4 adults eating together and all enjoyed their meals. 4 different meats and 1 vegetarian. Beef brisket, pulled pork, ribs, sausage and beetroot halloumi burger. All reasonably priced. Would like to have tried the desserts but were too full. Friendly staff, clean restaurant and fabulous views. Definitely coming back

We ate here twice on a recent holiday in Saundersfoot. The portion sizes are good and my 14 & 11 year old sons did not go hungry despite ordering kids size main meals.

Fab location and menu choices - something for everything even picky parents and teenagers. Food lived up to expectations and good portion sizes too. Service was quick and all staff friendly. Defo worth a visit.

After perusing the menu and deciding on my meal the waitress then came back to tell me they were out of my choice, choosing something else, I was then informed they were also out of that. After 3 attempts I asked the waitress to tell me everything they were out of .. not good service. If they were out of so much surely they would tell you in advance.
