Mercure York Fairfield Manor Hotel in York

Decidimos visitar York por nuestro 22 aniversario y elegimos este hotel para alojarnos. El hotel estaba muy limpio y bien decorado. El personal era muy amable y servicial. Hay un parque y paseo cerca que es una gran manera de llegar a York.

Well where do i start ! Great hotel BUT ! the brasserie is terrible it took us 40 minutes to get a drink the food is ordinary to say the least. The menu is not even close to the menu advertised on the internet. I had a sirloin steak which was as tough as old boots my wifes steak was cold the service was diabolical we even had Red wine served in a cooler ! There is not one person here that knows anything about the hospitality industry Dont eat here !!!

Situated on the outskirts of York 10 minutes walk from the park and ride. The staff were very friendly. The bed was enormous, clean and very comfortable. The bathroom had plenty toiletries for the shower. The shower was over the bath so would be difficult for anyone with mobility issues. The lighting in the room was fairly dim There was a large mirror in the bathroom and fairly good lighting. There was more than enough storage although a little bit dated. The rooms were very quiet but the corridor floors very creaky. The hotel seems to be set in nice grounds but we didn’t have much view from the room due to the trees. The free Wi-Fi worked well in the room but not in the bar area and I could only get 3G signal. We got a complimentary drink at the bar. I had wine but it wasn’t particularly nice. The breakfast was very good. Plenty to choose from both cooked and cold. Drinks were from a machine but they were fine. Would definitely stay again.

After a traumatic night where 2 random guys walked in a locked room at 5 in the morning I’m still waiting for a refund. I won’t hold my breath.
