Ignore all the reviews that don’t rave about this little place. I’ve been eating salt beef on rye for years at Selfridges and the one here was streets ahead. And all for less than £10. You won’t be disappointed!

. . no demasiado caro. Botella de agua, sin vaso. No me sorprende que fuera tan tranquilo. Lástima, ya que sería una buena alternativa a las patatas fritas y fry caff. No volveré.

Small friendly cafe, excellent selection of food, clean, and friendly staff. Convenient location in an area surrounded by fast food outlets is a pleasant surprise.

This is a really nice cafe serving up lovely sandwiches and salads and very good fresh juices. I tried the watermelon and mint smoothie today and it was fab - so refreshing. I’m not really in to salt beef but I have friends who rave about it. Service is friendly.

Great new addition to the Islington / Angel Cafe scene! Fantastic Salt Beef sandwich, just balanced right with gherkins & mustard. Its an interesting space that hosts Art Exhibitions downstairs too + they do make a great coffee! Been back a few times already!!

Tried this place for the first time today as they do lunch boxes for a bit over £5. I had the combo box which was veggie/beans chilli and two salads and overall I was really impressed. Much better than I was expecting it to be, particularly the bean chilli. I will definitely be back to try out the tasty looking (if slightly expensive) Reubens sandwich they also sell there.

Found this cute cafe on Chapel Market by chance. Although service was a bit slow, the food was amazing! Good coffee too. The owner was really friendly and helpful and this place really is worth a visit for the outstanding Reuben salt beef sandwich: loads of delicious salt beef, Sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, pickle, mustard all served in toasted caraway seed bread. Heaven 👌 We also had the salted caramel brownie - again, truly delicious. Highly recommend this place!

Noticed this place early one morning before it was even open and decided to return for lunch as I was working nearby for the day. Glad I returned. Excellent salt beef sandwich and really enjoyed. Good quality and very tasty. Tempted to go back tomorrow and try something new. Highly recommended.

Popped in for late lunch with my mum. It was small and snug but notm too busy. Really good salt beef toasted bagel, beef was tender and plentiful and i liked that I could add my own appropriate amount of sauerkraut. Good value for the bagel, less so a small rice and bean salad. Will definitely be back for the salt beef next time I'm up in the angel.

Have been to Mercer and co several times. Service is always a little haphazard / slow, but coffee ok and breakfast food that I have had also fine. Until today. Today they served me THE most unpleasant croissant (almond apparently) I have ever tasted. Bizarrely soggy to such an extent it tasted like it had been dunked in water. I returned it after one bite, only to be told it was “fresh this morning”. No alternative offered nor any refund. Poor.

Great cafe in the heart of Chapel Market. Looks sleek outside and this is carried through in the decor and seating once you step inside. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the prices were perfectly reasonable for a lunch! I'd thourghly recommend the sweet potato, best I've ever had. The vegetable chilli was delicious too. £7.50 for a two item hot lunch box and a latte. Can't be bad.

In the beginning when I wanted to order I was disappointed that there were no scrambled eggs on the menu, but the bagel with capers and salmon was exquisit, as well as the coffee and the place at the window to relax before going into our busy morning. We can highly recommend it!

A very welcome stop for some refreshments which included very good smoothies and some very tasty ricotta canelloni with spinach. They do specialise in some nice foods and seem a little understaffed. Excellent drinks as well.

Went at lunch time on Sunday. Only 2 people behind the counter, clearly struggling with the number of customers. The menu is very limited, however it is a struggle to get something from the menu that is actually available. Ordered eggs, bacon, avocado on toast....

Great place to hang out. Food looks good and delicious! Service is friendly. Heard that their pastrami sandwiches are good. Prices are definitely cheaper than city centre.

Disappointing experience at Whitecross St Pret. Staff provided false information and were disrespectful when confronted. Worker even swore at me. Left feeling upset. Hope management takes action to improve customer service.

Out I went, for a thoroughly intense knees-up with Janto, Chunger and Big Mervyn. After drowning our sorrows with Big Merv’s inheritance from his deid Mam, and ingesting some lighter fluid avec workerman’s glue, we headed to The Joker for a knees up. First in, Chunger got in the pints which were all exceedingly tasty and helped wash down the acrid tang of glue at the back of my throat. It was only after Janto repeatedly and brazenly kept impersonating a couple on a date next to us, by doing the young man’s lovely, soft posh accent that things really got funny. ‘WHAT IS SO FUNNY?’ He boomed. ‘Please let’s just leave, these men are savages and I think they’re on something, they’re out of their heads!’ said his date. We laughed some more and Merv said, too right, we’re out of our heads on good times, and also a heavy dose of my deid Ma’s dosh. ‘You sick freaks’ intoned the gent. ‘You think you’re so funny!’ It was then that Chunger stood up and roared with the strength of a hurricane into his own pint glass - ‘I AM TRYING TO HAVE A LAUGH. MY FATHER WAS NOT VERY NICE TO ME’ We fell about the floor laughing and ordering more pints which flowed as fast as the beautiful currents of the Arno. Things became decidedly ugly when I took a gulp of the young gent’s gravy which was on his plate, but Big Mervyn settled accounts by leaning on the man’s shoulder and whispering a few sweet nothings. Overall, I had a cracking night and the craic was 90 as we Ho Ho Ho’d all the way home with the young couple’s umbrella which they very kindly gave to us, as well as £50, which was very generous.
