Mercado Lounge in Harborough

Took over 50 minutes to get our food. Very noisy. Dogs everywhere. No service and they asked for a tip! Lemonade was horrible. Chicken was dry. Burrito was bitty and hard

We enjoyed the food, good value toilets were very clean, family friendly.

Very bad service, Sunday evening wasn’t busy at all and still it took them 15 kin to clean the table from previous customers. The waitress cleaned all the surrounding tables who were empty but did ours last evening though we asked for it to be cleaned. Food was brought cold so didn’t taste really nice. We loved this place as it has a nice play area for children but not sure if ever going again.

Unfortunately, we had a dreadful experience here. The only reason we gave 2 stars was a) dog friendly and b) table service via app, otherwise we'd never have been served. We were a table of 12 booked in advance for Saturday lunch. Unfortunately, it was mistake after mistake. As a table, the average wait time was about 45 mins to an hour, for one main course. One couple received cold burgers, which were sent back, with another 15 min wait. I personally pulled several clumps of soil and grit out of my sandwich (assuming unwashed salad). The rest of the table received their tapas after everyone else had finished (probably closer to a 1.5 hour wait for them) and another tapas board was placed on the table, then told one of the items was missing as they'd sold out. We got the last calamari, which was so burnt it was fairly inedible.The actual main food was very basic, lots of beige foods, oily / deep fried. As this was for a birthday and organised by me, I was absolutely mortified to have guests complaining, such long waits and mud in my food. It was so embarrassing and ruined the afternoon for some of us. Totally appreciate that Saturday's are busy, but the quality of food and service was utterly appauling. Do not recommend.

My son's Steak Fritters came with cold steak looking like a piece of leather while the side rocket salad was a lump of dead rocket leaves, chips was good. My Nosa Goreng which according to the menu was supposed to have chicken pieces and prawns didn't have any chicken in it. Staff seem to be more interested in doing their chores which didn't involve customer care.

Sadly was really disappointed on our visit today, there wasn't enough waiting staff , not once did anyone come and check if everything was OK, my food had to be sent back after a long wait as my egg wasn't cooked then it came back almost cold and the rest of the table had finished theirs! The food was not well cooked and was tasteless, cold and sloppy!maybe the chef should try his food to see it has any flavour, we will not be returning, this is not the first time we have been and been disappointed.

Went for breakfast and our only other experience in one of their lounges was that our food wasn’t hot enough. So we tried this one whilst staying in the hotel next door. I had the lounge breakfast and my partner the smashed avocado brunch. I’m guessing you already know what’s coming….. my breakfast was just about warm enough but my partners food was cold in places and had to be sent back. When it returned I’d already finished my meal and it still wasn’t all hot. We think that a lot of the items are already cooked and kept warm. A tip for them would be to get their plates hot as this would definitely help. 2 visits from us but we won’t be coming again. £31.25 for 2 meals and 2 coffees at breakfast time should be of a lot higher standard. Your restaurants are very nice but if the food isn’t right then people like us won’t return.

Lovely restaurant but the food was very very slow to come out and some of us had finished while others hadn’t been served.

Came here for a birthday brunch today and don’t normally have any issues but I found a half eaten chip in my beans (I ordered a cooked breakfast) and then we also ordered some sides and when the server (young ginger girl) brought them out she said “did you order more food?” In a sassy tone so we said yes they’re for us and she goes “I got confused when I saw the order coz you already have food so didn’t think you’d order more”. Really didn’t appreciate the rudeness and tone from the server, plus the food was cold. Not a brilliant experience.

We have enjoyed our breakfasts every first Saturday of the month BUT can you please explain why hot drinks are now served in smaller cups - such as a flat white. Hot chocolate - not in a glass as usual and was cold by the time it was only half drunk. Food excellent but please ditch the cups!!

I was sent a email asking if I would like to attend the McMillan coffee morning on the 27th of September. So I drove the 8 miles to Market Harborough with my friend as we both said it’s a great cause, only to be told on arrival that there wasn’t a McMillan coffee morning so I showed them my email and after a conversation with the Manager he said head office had messed up and it was not his fault. So with no apology from any member of staff we decided as we have traveled 8 miles to get here we will have a cake and coffee. We then decided to order another coffee and they took our order, after waiting 25 minutes we had to ask where were our coffees? And the answer was oh we forgot, so if you have another charity event I hope it’s better organised than this one and your staff are better organised and know how to apologise if the customer has been let down.

A nice pub with ample choice of food and drink. A little expensive for what it is, but not overly so. I’m not sure if it has live music or entertainment, but that’s what seemed missing to me.

It was quite obviously Mercado at Market Harborough’s lull in customers time - so I reasoned I could have a quiet meal. As soon as I got in the door a waiter fired questions at me. I had been there many times and I explained I would choose my table and order at the bar. I found a table and went to order at the bar. The waiter I had seen was not at the bar. I sat down near the windows. It wasn’t the quietest seat - the bar staff behind were noisy. The choice of table was my mistake.Food arrived relatively quickly. The waiter gave me a knife and fork (for macaroni cheese!) so I asked and got a spoon. Usually your staff are friendly and relaxed. He was talking like a waiter in a 4/5star restaurant. Then - in the huge cavern that is MHMercado - he started noisily cleaning the table right in front of me, flapping cushions around and generally making himself a nuisance. I just wanted a quiet meal. That was the last straw. I left. I mentioned to the 2 staff members behind the bar that he was ‘a bit of a pain’ as I left. There was no-one more surprised when I heard running footsteps behind me. He caught me up and started to challenge my complaint. I told him I didn’t think he should challenge me in this way and that I would put in a complaint anyway. It was very intimidating- particularly as he was tall and I am small, on my own, and twenty years past retirement.

Food is good but takes too long and too small portions for the price, service is slow and not customer oriented, the room is really loud when half full - can’t have a proper conversation on a table of 6. definitely better places around MH

I asked for a classic margarita, Alice the ‘manager’ would only do me a spicy Margarita when I asked for just a classic. She wouldn’t just create a classic although the staff have always just made one upon request as they are all very accommodating (apart from Alice). She offered to charge me an extra amount per cocktail for the Cointreau although we were swapping the chillis syrup for Cointreau. So full price plus an extra shot each for the classic Margarita request! Needless to say…. We left. Poor experience which is a shame as the rest of the staff are always so amazing

Excellent food and environment to spend a lunch there. The sushi is fresh and delicious 😋.

Disappointing really think they need to spend some time training their chefs. King prawns not correctly deveined is off-putting and not pleasant. When two people have the same dish on the same table you expect them to look the same. Not one with wafer thin breaded chicken that looked like it had been left in an oven for hours to completely dry out. With the other one thick golden and moist. One with a thick spread of mashed soy beans (I can't rightly call soy beans guacamole sorry but the people who write your menus have never been ones to call things what they are) the other one with the lightest of green smeers on the bread. One of the chibattas again really dry like it had been left out to go stale then heated the other fine. Didn't complain at the time because if they aren't capable of the basics what is the point. I just won't be back.

Same as the one in Melton, ok for a quick bite and good gluten free options but small portion of chips with burgers.

Been here a few times. This time I had the chicken and avocado burger without the bun and sweet potato fries. Chicken was salty; ok I should have said something instead of struggling through but was with a crowd of people so left it on this occasion🤷. My mocktail tasted yummy and staff are lovely with efficient service.

3 of us visited on a very wet Monday night. The place was quiet. We took advantage of the Monday night offer - choose a main course or a burger and get a free drink or dessert. I had the beef brisket chilli and a glass of wine. At £13.50 I thought this represented excellent value.

Great place for enjoying good food with the family. Great food, good service and fairly priced. Very chilled atmosphere. Came with three kids to celebrate my mother's birthday.

We had all our meals here over a two night period. The main reason for my review is the gluten free menu, it was brilliant , and the staff followed all the correct safety procedures when dealing with my husband's dietary needs . However I would also like to praise the staff they were so friendly , kind and helpful . A huge thank you J short

I’ve been a few times and didn’t have a great experience the last time. I was on my relatively sensible stag do (quite clearly given what I was wearing!) and one of the team was very unfriendly when we arrived. Experiences before then have been better, though.

Really great atmosphere with plenty of choices for vegans and vegetarians. Been several times and I particularly recommend the vegan breakfast or vegan tapas. Friendly service and good food.

We called in for a drink. Walked up to the bar with 4 staff behind the bar. I was completely ignored by the staff. While I was waiting a queue was being formed behind the 1 guy serving I said out loud what do you do to get a drink in here, the 4 staff completely ignored me and 1 person in the queue said I think just 1 person is serving and you have to queue. So I joined the queue and waited for 20 minutes and still 3 people giving big food orders. I waited another 5 minutes then just gave up and left. They obviously don’t want the custom.

10 staff, only one working the bar. Long wait time to get a drink. Staff ignore you in the long queue. Shame as a nice place aesthetically.

Mercado Lounge is a great place to enjoy breakfast. Good portions and cooked well. I always go for their Full English and either a latte or mocha. Staff are also friendly and welcoming.

Great food, tasty, well presented. Staff friendly and cheerful. People of all ages here. Excellent choice of gluten free options, my daughter has coeliac disease and feels confident to eat here. Town centre location. Parking close by. Highly recommend if you are in Market Harborough.

Ordered sweet potato fries, £4.20 per portion, they came put cold and looked like half a portion. Sent them back, and asked for more and for them to be hot. When they returned, they were hot, but only contained 17 fries, this works out at 24.7p per fry....... sent them back and asked for a refund... lets hope the refund comes lol... sort it out!

We liove Harborough's lounge. Have visited others in the group in Northampton and Rushden Lakes but the Harborough branch has a little something extra. I accidentally left my wallet there last weekend - of course, the great team kept it to one side and went out of their way to return it to me the following Monday. Cracking venue for lunch or brunch, good humoured staff and the food never disappoints.

Sent a booking online at 6pm on 6/3/24 for a table for 13 people as per the instructions on their website. Received an email stating someone would come back to me. No one did. Just rang the restaurant at 11.50am on 7/3/24 to be told they are fully booked!! Don’t bother

Lovely people and decent food. Great relaxed atmosphere and dog friendly! It really doesn't get any better if youre a dog owner. Highly recommended. Food can be slow at peak weekend times, not always as hot as it could be. Having said that, still a good choice.

Nice spot for brunch, atmosphere is comfortable and the food was delicious and arrived very quickly. The pancakes are excellent and the eggs Benedict as well. Very good iced coffee & matcha. A little bit expensive, but worth it for an occasional treat.

I visted Market Harborough recently for a local business networking event ran by #BusinessBuzz Wow the place was heaving with local entrepreneurs exchanging views and knowledge. A great use by the venue of an otherwise empty space- stopped for a bite to eat afterwards- can’t beat face to face networking at a wonderful location like this

Very busy place had to wait to be seated seemed like forever .. I had the deep fried chicken the main part of the dish the chicken was over cooked and consequently made it very dry .. and £3.50 for a small bottle of diet coke a bit steep to say the least ..

Yet again no Prosecco….. New Years Eve. Toilets bogging!!!! Close the place for a refurb, and get staff that can pre order enough fluids…

This place is currently really good in its category. Family friendly, with a big children's book shelf and a chest full of crayons and stuff, many couples having a romantic dinner out, friends celebrating and plenty of friendly staff always helpful. My kids enjoyed all their food and i managed to read two books to my 4 years old daughter, my wife enjoyed her favourite cocktail and I could find a cold alcohol free beer of my choice. It was perfect 👌

Blown away with the service given to us by Eren (apologies if spelt wrong). Was kind, attentive, greeted us at the door explaining the lay out with a smile and couldn’t have done enough for us, I honestly feel like you don’t get service like this anymore, he made us feel like the only ones in the restaurant on a busy Saturday night and nothing was to much trouble! Food and drinks were good and great price and atmosphere was buzzing! Would definitely recommend to anyone, all staff were lovely and food came quickly, couldn’t fault it!

We went as a work party of 11 for brunch. I really loved my eggs royale - which is what I nearly always have when I go for brunch and this was perfect - and fresh orange juice. It came out quickly. The ability to order separately is a real boon when you’re in a work situation and some people just want a coffee and some want the full English. Everyone’s food looked good and staff were pleasant.

Mercardo lounge is similar to Lago lounge at rushden lakes. Dog friendly but not so much if your dog gets on the furniture. You're in for a telling off.

Hmm. I love the Lounge group. I love the familiar menu with lots of vegan options and I love that dogs are welcome. The staff were friendly as they are in all of the Lounges. But this one seemed very Wetherspoons-esque and honestly a bit grotty compared to others. Decor isn't as fun as other Lounges and the building itself isn't very attractive. Food and drinks were lovely as always.

By far the most delicious food in the area. Average priced, definitely worth it. People are quite nice and the location is great. Very conveniently placed with the Travelodge hotel.

The service was absolutely fine but the food was pretty bad. My buttermilk chicken tasted like it had been fried at least 3 times before. My husband said his Chimichurri burger just tasted like it was covered in mint sauce.

Impresses more and more. Always friendly, this place is increasingly becoming my go to. Still accepts cash. Dog and child friendly. Extensive vegan menu and always something a bit different. The beef brisket chilli is fantastic. Might have considered it expensive in the past but now everywhere else has caught up it seems pretty good value.

Saturday morning breakfast treat! The place was brimming we were told at the door by staff to go and find a table and use the the qr code to order. There must have been 20+ kids and babies all screaming @ crawling about the floor their parents sat with there backs to them! Eventually we found a table that was sticky the chairs too everything in that place was greasy & sticky! We only waited 60 minutes for breakfast and 45 for drinks! Massively over priced for mediocre food a service! AVOID

Visited this restaurant on a Friday evening. Good service on arrival and seated quickly despite being quite busy. Fabulous service from the ladies serving the tables and the lady who took my initial order (we could not order via the App due to my allergies). Food was excellent. It is quite rare for a Gluten free meal to be of similar portion size to an allergen free meal. I could not tell the bun on my burger was Gluten free as it was so tasty. The only reason I could not give 5 stars on this review was due to the lack of service from the 3 gentlemen serving behind the bar when I went to order pudding and coffee. I could see they were all busy making drinks orders, but not one guy would acknowledge my presence at the bar. It was over 5mins that I waited until another customer walked up to the bar and was served immediately (I assume because the barman knew him - a lot of people there seemed to be regulars). Such a shame as it ruined what had been a lovely time here with such good food.

Fantastic breakfast this morning in Market Harborough with my other half. The Veggie breakfast was delicious , the service was brilliant. Thanks to Lindsey for making us feel so welcome 😀 We will be returning next time we are in the area. 👍

First visit to this place, great cosy atmosphere, lovely warm staff whonare a credit to the hospitality industry, super efficency in ordering food and drinks all from the comfort of your table, preventing queuing which is a bonus in a busy comfortable place, with choice of searing areas, from sofas to tables. Definitely recommend, a credit to MKT Harborough

Visited in the summer. Lovely cafe/restaurant with lots of room between tables. Food was good and service was good as well. I ordered the sausage & egg muffin with a side of chips and it was delicious. Drinks can be a hint expensive but that seems to be par the course nowadays. Also dog friendly!

We were staying over at the hotel next door and were too tired to walk around town so just dropped in here. Very lively and buzzing atmosphere. Decided on the tapas, good price and varied selection. Food arrived in good time and was tasty, pleasant staff, well looked after. Happy customers😄
