Beautiful afternoon tea, don’t be deceived into thinking it’s a standard afternoon tea! No this is a sensory experience of the Indian continent! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming with staff that couldn’t do enough for us. The whole experience was delicious and the masala chai second to none! Dish after fish of innovative food was a real treat.The fact they distil their own gin makes it like no other, just fabulous.

Excellent and exciting food and accompanying drinks. The tasting menu was significantly better than any other Indian restaurants locally, and up there with the best food we’ve had for ages. The flavours and presentation were great, good portions and every mouthful was a joy. The drinks flight was much nicer than a normal ‘wine flight’ , including their own gin, hibiscus flour infused teapot. Can’t praise it enough.

The chai masala tea and memsahib star cocktail were the highlight of our afternoon tea experience. If you want to try something less traditional, blending the richness of Indian flavors with the elegance of an afternoon spread Memsahib's Lounge will not disappoint.

Had the experience menu - one fish one vegetarian. Both were delicious, and the drinks were great too. Service lovely. This is fine dining Indian style. And the amounts were perfect - we were just beginning to think it was going to be too much when the deserts arrived.

The Memsahib Lounge is not local to us , this was a repeat visit to celebrate our wedding anniversary having enjoyed our Afternoon Tea so much last year. I’m pleased to say the food, service and atmosphere were still excellent. Great value for money.

Amazing insight into Indian food with flavours that are off this planet. Combine that with great service and ambience and you have Memsahib's lounge... a beautiful tucked away treat yet literally in the centre of the hussle and bussle of Cheltenham. We went for my Wife's birthday and the staff were amazing. She flet throughly looked after. If you want to give your taste buds a treat... you have to try this lovely place out. Highly recommended and did not disappoint. Well done to everyone at Memsahib Lounge.

I hardly ever write a review because I never know what to say but felt this deserved one. We had the pescatarian experience, lovely to find a pescatarian option which proved to be wonderful from start to finish, the staff were great attentive without being intrusive

Visited with a group of girlfriends for the tea and loved the food, service and gin cocktails! Really wonderful venue with central location and great value delicious food.

Afternoon tea at Memsahibs lounge is so different to most places. No bread, no cakes, but an exquisite number of tastes delights, beautifully flavoured, beautifully presented, and really felt that care and attention one has in a michelin restaurant. All helped by the ambience of the restaurant where you feel you can relax for a wonderful indulgent afternoon.

Visited Memsahibs for a anniversary celebration with my husband and we opted for the afternoon tea. Service was amazing and the staff were attentive. Their take on afternoon tea was delicious, really something me and partner have never experienced before. The masala chai was to die for and took you right back to a taste of India. If you are looking for an intimate, different food experience then highly recommend.

Me and my wife had afternoon tea Memsahibs for the first time and the good was very nice and the staff very friendly and helpful and the decor was very nice.A nice place to eat.

Our second visit to this fabulous restaurant. Unfortunately we live too far away to go more often. This restaurant was the reason for us returning to Cheltenham and making it a great place to stay. The food and cocktails are amazing. Staff are so professional and attentive. Hopefully we will get to return again.

We'd not been here before but the reviews were good, so we tried. We weren't disappointed! With our dietary restrictions, we did worry a bit, but the staff were very helpful and we had a very enjoyable evening meal. thank you.

As return diners we were welcomed back warmly, Rina remembered us and had helped arrange the surprise of 2 friends waiting for my partner for this birthday meal. The tasting experience menu had changed since our last visit and it did not disappoint, all courses were amazing and we will be back again. It is such an amazing experience visiting Memsahib. The decor is like a plush London Club, service matches and the food is outstanding. The flavours in each dish are unlike any other form of Indian food and yet they are so familiar. From start to finish it is very special. They also really understand the matching of lovely tea infusions with spicy food. Staff are fantastic and know exactly what the dish is they are serving and explain its construction while they serve. Great restaurant for a special afternoon tea of a wonderful dinner.

Another excellent meal for my daughter's birthday. The food and cocktails were superb, the service is the best we have encountered, efficient and super friendly. Up there with the very best restaurant experiences.

I was hoping for a better experience after reading all those reviews. It wasn't bad, however our expectation was I guess a little higher. We opted for the Afternoon tea and although the chaat was perfect, it was le down by the chai, which to me was the fundamental part of the visit. WIll try again in the future but for now, slightly disappointed.

Second visit here due to a friend who had booked us in for Afternoon tea, Was an enjoyable xperience and an improvement over the previous. Wasn't keen on the chai particularly, possibly from it being lukewarm. Service was attentive and since it wasn't a busy period, the whole event finished in just over an hour.

Wow! What a meal . We chose the taster menu, and it was a fabulous culinary experience ! My husband has worked and travelled extensively in India over the past 20 years , and he said it is possibly the best Indian cuisine he had ever experienced anywhere in the world including South Asia . Outstanding !

What a fabulous find in Cheltenham. Relaxing, and sophisticated setting with dimmed lighting, comfy seeting and leather sofas in the cocktail area, and smart yet unfussy atmosphere in the dining room. Great gin with a self serve point of difference, classic cocktails with a inspired twist, infused teas and alcoholic teas. Like nothing i have seen anywhee b4. Well worth a visit and a real find.

We recently visited for a special occasion and chose the tasting menu. The food & service was excellent. Each course was beautifully presented and our waiter took the time to explain each course before serving. It was served with some wonderful gins & tea. All in all a delicious and unique experience This is a hidden gem and I would say one of the best places to eat & drink in Cheltenham. Also lovely to pop in and have a gin & tapas for something more casual. Highly recommended.

This place is an absolute hidden gem in Cheltenham. As a keen gin and tea lover this was a great place for me and my friend to try. They offer a selection of tea-infused gins which is made using their specially made gin from a local distillery and different variations of tea, mostly fruity. You can also order cocktails served in their glass teapots which are not only beautiful to look at but also very tasty. We didn’t try much of the food but from the nibbles we had there were lots of flavourful options to please most people. The Indian fusion works very well and service from the staff was excellent. Definitely a place to try.

We arrived late on one of those January nights no one was going out....nevertheless even though there was hardly anyone there we had an amazing time....felt Covid safe! The tables are well distanced so good for private conversations but saying that the lighting/decor/atmosphere create a great vibe so you didn't feel awkward with it being quiet. Service was amazing as was food. Had some Indian tapas. Flavours & ingredients combo of a high standard. Will definitely return.

Went to Memsahib on New Year’s Eve and had an amazing evening. We were not rushed at all, as often happens with taster menus. The service was impeccable and the food was outstanding. The owner delivered our food, her husband is the chef, with such passion and pride and rightly so.Can’t wait to go back for more

Really enjoyed the set afternoon tea menu just before Christmas. The restaurant was very quiet and I Ithink advertising it as ‘afternoon tea’ is misleading. I think it would be better promoted as an Indian lunch.

I had high hopes that we we would enjoy our evening here and the experience surpassed my expectations! We had the Anglo-Indian tasting menu with drinks. We had heard of this place for a while and then took advantage of a January offer and went for the full tasting menu option with drinks on a Sunday afternoon to try it out.Wow, it was superb! Honestly we could not fault anything, the service was impeccable, the food was amazing, the drinks unique, the ambience and decor elegant as well as clean. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable and really made you feel special.We cannot wait to go back…..long may this venue last in Cheltenham, we are so lucky to have it on our doorstep.

We had found this restaurant online when searching for vegan food. We were not disappointed. The restaurant is amazing - we loved the decor in the bar and the main restaurant area, felt very relaxed here and we were made to feel very welcome by all the staff. We had the 7 course vegan taster menu with the drinks option - which included two different gins, two teas and a glass of wine - all for £70 each - amazing! Food was delicious (fine dining quality) and a lot of thought had gone into the way both the food and drinks were presented at the table. Certainly added to the whole dining experience and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening here. We would definitely go back again and can highly recommend this as 'must visit' restaurant in Cheltenham.

10 of us went for Afternoon Tea. Such a lovely experience, wonderful food, good vegan and vegetarian selection, fantastic cocktails and lovely knowledgeable and friendly staff. Went back later just for drinks. Just love the place.

What an amazing dining experience ! The decor is beautiful & the ambiance super relaxing, comfortable velvet sofas to sit back in between courses. The food was as beautiful to look at as it was delicious to eat. Each course was an explosion of flavours artfully combined. We had the Xmas pescatarian tasting menu with drinks.Each course came with a beautifully presented drink which perfectly complimented the food. The service was superb and our waiters Molly & Paul were very knowledgeable about the food & drink they were serving. I cannot recommend highly enough !

I was looking for somewhere to meet up with friends for afternoon tea, everywhere was book full or book a week in advance but managed to find this place. Wasn't sure, being a gin bar but if you like an afternoon tea with a savoury twist, maybe even a colonial twist on the quit-essential English afternoon tea, then you must try this gem in the crown. Loved the deco and ambience, the staff were very friendly and attentive, making the whole experience a pleasure and delight. The platter itself was more savoury than sweet, the tea selection was exquisite and was served as would be expected. We also tried an infused gin tea, which added that extra twist to an afternoon tea. Highly recommend this bar and not as pricey as I thought, just wish it was my local.

As first-time visitors to Cheltenham, we were attracted to try this restaurant as the Tripadvisor reviews were excellent and it stood out from the crowd. We prebooked and were not disappointed. The stylish decor and friendly staff helped to create a very relaxing and intimate atmosphere that reminded us a lot of a contemporary 'Gentleman's Club'. We decided to try the Taster menu with drink pairing which we can highly recommend. Each course was delicious. Service was efficient and unhurried. We spent a wonderful relaxing evening and are happy to recommend it.

Booked Memsahib Gin and Tea bar on spec a couple of weeks ago and it was great. Interesting small plates of Indian tapas accompanied with g&t. A great find. Staff were friendly too.

We were given a voucher for the tasting menu as an anniversary gift and couldn’t have enjoyed the experience more. Several courses, drinks included, perfectly timed. I have never been to Gin and Tea before although past it loads and I am so disappointed it has taken me so long to go there. The service is the best I have had in a long time. The decor is immaculate and the drinks perfect. If you are looking for a experience and quality service this is the place to go in Cheltenham.

Really lovely experience - the food was first rate and the staff were so welcoming. Very knoweldgeable and happy to provide help in relation to questions about the menu if any was needed. We chose a selection from the Tapas menu - the sheek kebabs were stunning and the oriental style fried duck was a particular favourite of mine.

Another fantastic experience at Memsahib’s. I brought my daughter here to celebrate the completion of her degree and what a way to celebrate! The tea was delightful; bite size pieces of Indian delights coupled with the house gin (which was on offer with the tea). The staff were as attentive as always and the food mouthwatering. From the moment you arrive you're whisked away into a forgotten world where you're pandered to and looked after exceptionally well. The staff are so polite and fantastic. The food is another dimension and an accompaniment Gin cocktail is essential to round everything off. Ps the teas are also stunningly delicate and delightful. Thank you! The experience was fantastic, relaxed, comfortable and the food was great. The portions are the size I should eat rather that do eat! And the drinks very high quality. The service made the trip a delight. It is not a cheap event but worth the cost.

We travelled from London for a weekend away and had a great meal at MGTB. We had the drinks paired menu and each course was tasty with a touch of theatre that made it really enjoyable. Staff were attentive and the atmosphere was chilled.

This was a birthday treat, and so it proved! We (two of us) went for a lunchtime tasting menu, with drinks (well, you have to !). We were greeted warmly by Molly, who showed us to a table in a very comfortable and discreet setting. The decor is very tasteful, with (in our case) wing-back chairs and a mahogany chess table, and surrounded with pictures of the Victorian era and Old Cheltenham.The food and drink were superb: stuff we have not tried before (or not in this form). Describing samosas and venison carpaccio with some incredible taste mixtures does not cover it, and each course was paired with a special gin mix or a nice wine, plus ginger and lemon tea. The ginger cheesecake and ice cream were absolutely amazing.All in all, a really memorable lunch, that goes down as one of our great food memories.

Couldn’t recommend this restaurant more. We had the most amazing Afternoon Tea with so many lovely touches - we couldn’t wait to see what was brought out each time. The staff were great and so knowledgable, and the gin was incredible and much better value than certain other bars in Cheltenham. We will be back!

Love to visit the bar but obviously can’t during lockdown, so i bought my wife the hamper for Valentine’s Day, she loved it and was a great surprise. 3 different Gins, chocolates and more just perfect. Really great gift.

We had a beautiful meal, 19th Dec 20 . It was the tasting menu with drinks fantastic food and great value. Due to Covid-19 there were restrictions . These were excellently put in place, we felt safe and the staff were lovely and helpful. Looking forward to our next visit. Thank you.

Excellent service and good value for £50. We got to make our own gin infusion, which we brought home. We had snacks. A lovely gin and tonic tailor made to our taste by the expert barman. The afternoon tea was delicious and beautifully presented. We ended with our choice of tea and came home with a goody bag of our own gin, chocolates, and d £10 voucher

Food was divine and every course was well thought out. Great value for money too as the main course was probably a bit too big and we couldn’t quite finish it. We went for the drinks pairing with the tasting menu and they catered for my requirements to not have anything fizzy which was impressive. The first gin drink was to die for! Service was fantastic however I would suggest asking them to change the Christmas playlist as at one point we had jingle bells being sung by screaming children which wasn’t the most relaxing but it was quite funny. They happily changed the music when we asked in the end.

The Memsahib Gin and Tea Bar is definitely one of the most sophisticated venues in the area; great decor and soundtrack, supported by exquisite service. The level of innovation can be seen in the drinks, food and the presentation of both. We have been for the drinks, afternoon tea and evening meals and have been special giving us many memories. I cannot recommend this venue enough and Litu and his team as one of the best in the business.

We came here to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The service was very good, they had to keep to time due to the 10pm lockdown so it felt a little rushed to get through all the courses but we should have just booked an earlier slot. Food was amazing, as always. Definitely worth getting the drinks package alongside the tasting menu to get the full experience. I’ll be back with friends in December!

This place is just amazing! Cheltenham needed something different and memsahib didn't disappoint. The 7 course was delicious and we were definitely full by the time we finished. The staff gave personalised service and given the situation with covid, I think they did an excellent job. Booked to go back again in December. Well done memsahib.

I visited Memsahib Gin and Tea Bar recently with my wife recently to try the five course tasting menu, where each course is paired with either a gin cocktail, a glass of wine or a tea. I deliberately chose to use the word experience in this review, as it is more than just a meal. The tasting menu is a set option but they cater for all dietary requirements and in my case preferences and were happy to swap one of the courses from the vegetarian version.The food is of course the most important part of the meal and this didn't disappoint. Each course was a work of art, but also tasted fantastic and the portion sizes were good without being over the top. The drinks chosen to pair each were fantastic and the gin cocktails were a sight to be seen. I challenge you to resist the urge to take a picture.What completed the experience were a great ambience and feel to the place and the faultless, attentive service. Would definitely recommend and will be back.

My husband chose this bar for my birthday drinks and I was very happy with his choice. I wanted to go somewhere a little bit different and this ticked the boxes, I loved the decor and music. We tried tea and gin and I was given a complimentary glass of prosecco for my birthday which was a nice touch. The staff were friendly and accommodating, they even gave us a free tea sample when I said I was cold! I would highly recommend if you are looking for a relaxing evening somewhere a bit different with a touch of luxury. Also very on the ball with social distancing.

Las combinaciones de bebidas eran perfectas y disfrutamos mucho del ambiente en general.El único comentario es que el cuarto plato es más pesado y es posible que desee dejar espacio para el postre.Otra recomendación es reducir la dulzura del limpiador de paleta, ya que se sintió más dulce que el postre y fue una pena que dominara al matcha / tumeric.En general, recomiendo encarecidamente este lugar ya que tiene un precio razonable para un menú de degustación de 5 platos y realmente disfrutamos de la experiencia.Para cualquier persona interesada en los arreglos relacionados con covid-19, todo el personal llevaba máscaras y todas las mesas estaban adecuadamente distantes.
