Absolutely fantastic cafe to visit. I visited with my wife, brother, sister and law and my sister in law's assistance dog, Skye. Upon arrival. We asked if it's ok for Skye to be inside the cafe, the lady (sorry I didn't catch your name) who served us was more than happy to allow Skye inside although they don't usually have dogs visiting. Thr lady understood the importance of having an assistance dog as the lady is familiar with how they work etc The lady was extremely friendly and even took the time to chat to us. The food was great and the lady who served us couldn't do enough for us. Exemplary service from a very friendly and kind lady Thankyou so much for having us. You are a credit to Mold.

We had been to this cafe a long time ago so decided to try it again. It is a little off the main street and probably won’t have found it without having been there before. Possibly an advertising board on the street, if allowed, would attract people’s attention. Just a thought. The cafe was busy and had a lovely warm atmosphere. The place was spotless and the staff extremely welcoming and friendly. The menu was very varied and catered for everyone. We had steak pie and shepherds pie which came reasonable quickly after ordering. It was piping hot, of good quality and delicious. Will definitely go again when in Mold. Note it is cash only but there is a cash machine not far away.

Popped in for lunch after shopping in market. Very big choice of traditional hearty food. Both went for cheese and ham omelette salad and chips, together with apple juice x 2 came to just over £18. Good value for good food.

Excellent cafe. We had all day breakfasts. Cooked really well & excellent value. Only ‘off’ but was sausage was a bit cheap, but definitely can’t complain for the price. Very friendly and helpful staff.

2 of us went for lunch today and after being assured the fish was hand battered and cooked from fresh we ordered the fish and chips. When it came it was cheap frozen pre battered and cremated ! We sent it back and sister said she would have 2 sausages instead of the burnt fish, big mistake as they were the worst of cheap frozen sausages we have ever seen my sister took them home for local fox as they were so poor, I ordered the cheese and onion omelette thinking you can't ruin something so simple, wrong again, it was totally black on the underside and tasted burnt throughout, they even had the cheek to charge for it even though it was uneaten. Feel really sorry for waitress who could not apologise enough, whoever is doing the cremating in the kitchen needs sacking and get someone who actually knows how to prepare edible food !!!!

I visited here with my one year old and my parents. Pram felt too big for the cafe, no changing facilities to speak of had to change my son on the cold floor ( with my portable changing mat of course) Staff were lovely and food was fairly nice save the sausage.

On a local recommendation from a pub owner who didn't do food themselves, but ate here daily, so our needs coalesced. Small-ish space but clean and well-served by staff, this was a very good an extremely reasonable brunch for my son and I. He had the burger while I had the full breakfast with chips, good coffee and fab toast. Very well served by a young waitress who was delighted to serve us in our first language, as she'd heard us talking in Welsh. Hanna was great and super polite and friendly. The Welsh-language issue can still be a (19th century) problem with some employers, but not here. Mel's it is next time. Diolch yn fawr.

It was our first visit to the area so we were just a walk in - it looked pleasant and clean etc from the outside. It is cash only which could be a bit off putting but I think the 7 days a week opening, wide range of food and extremely good value for money probably makes up for this. Between us, we sampled a fair range- breakfast; steak pie meal; cheese panini ; lasagna and a bowl of chips and all were tasty . The staff were friendly and our grandson was given a lolly and a biscuit at the end. Nice touch !

Great clean decor and friendly staff let down by poor quality ingredients served with the breakfast. Worst sausages, bread and black pudding ever! Surprised as I would expect a local cafe to buy local quality ingredients. Biggest surprise was asking if we wanted sauce and then charging 10p per sachet of sauce. Disappointed.

Traditional cafe food at decent prices in a nice place. We go here regularly for breakfast, there is loads of parking around the back and the service is good and quick. If your after fine dining or fancy food then this isnt the place for you. Don't get me wrong, its not a greasy spoon, its more like homely food with good portion sizes.

we have been to Mold many times and have tried quite a few cafes. We came across this little gem by chance. We received a lovely warm welcome and we decided to have a breakfast. It was delicious, nice hot food and plentiful, and at a good price which included toast and tea. The menu is good and varied and everywhere was clean. There is also a toilet inside. I recommend Mel's and we will certainly revisit.

Called for a drink and a snack on arrival in Mold. Friendly welcome on arrival, decided on toasted tea cake and coffee. Not keen on the spread served - not butter. Nice clean toilet and good prices. Would return if in Mold again.

This is a lovely little cafe in central Mold, very clean and well presented. We popped in for a drink and a snack and the staff couldn't have been more helpful in accommodating my sons gluten free diet. While they don't do gluten free specifically they cobbled him together something and made him feel a bit special. One thing to note is that this place is cash only.

We go to Mold market quite often and have always ended up moving on to Chester to eat. No more. We looked at the menu on the window and it seemed to have something to suit all tastes. This is often a case of Jack of all trades, Master of none. Not in this case. We ordered a Greek salad for myself and chicken shish with chips and salad for my husband. Wow! The salad was one of the best I`ve had in a while with lovely cold salad and the divine saltiness of the feta cheese and sun dried tomatoes and fabulous Greek olives. The shish was HUGE, beautifully cooked, lovely marinade with a crisp mixed salad and, thankfully, not overloaded with chips. Just enough. The staff are efficient and friendly with nothing too much trouble. This place is a welcome addition to our list of eateries and is excellent value for money. Thank you Mel`s Cafe.

We went for a lunch on a Saturday afternoon, thinking it would be too busy. But there was a couple of tables, we were served quickly for our drinks and we ordered food. My husband ordered the all day breakfast, I had a pasta dish and my daughter had chicken nuggets, chips and beans. All were delicious and cooked fresh. Although we waited a little bit of time for our lunch we didn't mind because it was fresh and hot when it came. Would return again.

A must visit if in Mold for coffee and cake day on a Wednesday (which is a Market Day along with Saturday) and stopped into Mel's Cafe after my wife had had an excellent shopping day out at Aphrodyte. They serve a wide range of snacks which looked excellent as was the fresh coffee and cakes we had.

Mel’s has a good variety on the menu but what is really good is that you can eat food without the frying. We like to go as it’s as near to slimming world friendly as can be. Good prices too.

We came across this little cafe on a day trip to Mold. From the outside it looked freshly renovated as was the inside. The choice on the menu was good and reasonably priced. As we were there on market day it was very busy hence the wait for our order to come.

I wasnt expecting gourmet food. But at £3.80 for a sausage baguette I also wasnt expecting they would use the cheapest sausage going, ie those ones made with virtually no meat. The place looked really nice, modern rustic decor. The waitress really nice. All this lead me to think I would get a real sausage. These are the ones bought wholesale frozen in boxes of 48. Cheapest there is. Shame as the place looked nice.

Unlike eating here. It's simple food like egg and chips, breakfasts, omelettes etc but done well. I've never had greasy food here. The tea and coffee is great using Yorkshire tea bags, Douse Egberts for the decaf coffee and decent ground coffee. Best of all its incredibly cheap. Don't expect gourmet food but do expect decent cafe food well cooked. I like it here and go regularly. My only comment is I'd like to see more vegetarian options but that's not the end of the world. The egg and chips is nicely done.

It's always nice to see new independently-owned cafes and coffee shops opening up in town centres as an alternative to the onslaught of Costa, Starbucks, Subway, etc. - but to compete with the big brands they have to "bring their A-game" as the Yanks say, and sadly I don't think Mel's does this.
