Excellent stsff food and drink highly reccomend my most favourite bar and restaurant ever staff really look after u food is great u have all the sports channels smoking and outdoor heat outside. Melo doesnt get recognition it deserves really nice place excellent value for money 10/10

It was great to have such a good food and service, all the members of my family enjoyed, and we have decided to ,go there soon.

Lunched in here a few days ago with my Iranian partner. We had kaskh badenjoon for starter ( a real delicacy) and the toroshi (pickles). The grilled portions where abundant and the taste was authentic. You could smell and taste the saffron. If you like pistachios, do try their dessert (they are flavourful and not too sweet, exactly like a dessert should be). Will definitely be coming back.

I went in the quiet hours around 4 pm. I will say, the service isn't 5 stars and leaves a little to be desired, but the food is AMAZING!!! I had the mezze starter for 4, all to myself, and it was DELICIOUS! Imagine a choice of 4 delicious dips (out of many more) or dolmades (a sour rice bun wrapped in a marinated salad leaf) with flatbread. Some of the best food I have ever tasted, you won't leave on an empty stomach. Don't be put off by half the menu being unpronounceable. I will come again next time I'm in Southampton.

Chicken kebab was OK but mince kebab and shish was terrible 😫 was really hard and wasn't sure what's the quality of meat

We were unfortunately disappointed with the freshness of the dishes we ordered. The Bakhtiari kabab and chicken stew both seemed past their prime, and we weren't able to finish them. The zeytoon parvarde also fell short of expectations. They did not accept card payments.

The grilled kebabs were great! I got the chicken kebab & minced meat skewer, which was really yum. Service was friendly and it was a relaxing setting. I would recommend. They also have a shisha garden at the front.

This is my favourite restaurant for more than 10 years, from when i was child till now. Food always fresh with good quality. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. The best plate is Ghormeh sabzi and kebab koobideh.

The best persian restaurant in southampton. I visit this place and had a koobideh kebab and shisha. Kebab was fantastic and fresh. Shisha was great as well. Staff were friendly and helpful. I will beck again.

The Kobideh Kebab (minced meat) is not good at all. The color wasn't normal Kebab that I used to eat in Iran and it was somehow like a combination of soy meat and onions and maybe a bit of meat (passing by it far away). Just to be fair, the service was good, and they offer a pretty unique atmosphere.

There is something wrong with the Kobideh kabob! It looks like left over meat has been minced and made into kobideh. It didn’t look right nor tasted right. It had a lot of turmeric that is never used in kobideh.

A great Persian restaurant for groups, couples or as I did tonight, on my own. Not only is the food perfect, the service is also super friendly. Portion size is big, quality is great, taste is incredible and the place has a really chilled vibe.

Regrettably, giving even a single star feels overly generous. The Koobideh, claimed to be an authentic Persian kebab, turned out to be a disappointing imitation. Not only was it completely lacking in flavour, but its texture made it almost inedible—so tough that even cutting it with a fork was a struggle. Despite our hunger, the experience was utterly unsatisfying. Moreover, there were no sides provided with the meal, which added to the overall disappointment. The Zeytoon Parvarde was excessively salty, with barely a hint of the pomegranate sauce or juice it was supposed to feature. The entire dining experience was subpar and thoroughly unsatisfactory.

I was quite disappointed with my recent experience of what was supposed to be a Persian Kobideh Kebab. Unfortunately, it bore little resemblance to the authentic flavors one might expect. The meat, which should be the highlight of any kebab, was notably substandard in quality. It seemed as though inferior ingredients were used, detracting significantly from the overall dish. I even posted a video showing the kebab's texture — humorously enough, it was dry and hard enough to 'dance'! Although not entirely unpalatable, the taste did not remind me of Kobideh; it was overly dry and seemed to contain more filler than actual meat. It's definitely not what I was hoping for.

My husband and I were eagerly looking forward to enjoying an authentic Persian Kobideh Kebab, but were left thoroughly disappointed. The kebab we were served did not meet our expectations for genuine Persian cuisine. The meat quality was notably poor, lacking the succulence and flavor characteristic of traditional Kobideh. Instead, the texture was tough and dry, almost as if there was more filler than meat. It's a pity, as we had high hopes for a delicious meal. Unfortunately, this experience missed the mark by a wide margin.

When I came to Southampton, I thought it would be useful to give it a try, I'm glad I tried it, the food and service are really super, I would like you to try it without hesitation.

We search for Iranian restaurant around south and we found this place at google. We ordered mixed grilled from the google pictures and when they bring it was exactly the same as pictures. Kebab koobideh was tasty, chicken kebab was juicy and lamb chops was well cooked and delicious. Good portion of rice and fresh chips was with mixed grilled and we really enjoyed. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Rated the quality of this as a 1 due to the fact two of the dishes we ordered were absolutely swimming in oil. Didn’t even get the lids off without a massive oil spill worthy of the Exxon Valdez. On the plus side the Naan bread kebab I had was very nice, although missing some decent salad and mint sauce. Probably won’t bother again though - don’t understand the high ratings.

We ordered the "Kabab Bakhtiari Makhsoos" at this Persian restaurant. Unfortunately, the dish deviated significantly from the authentic Persian kebab taste we were expecting. It had an unpleasant flavour that certainly did not align with the usual Persian kebab profile. Additionally, the meat texture was tough and challenging to eat. Moreover, the dish exhibited an unusual yellow colour that was distinctly not saffron. It seemed like an excess of spices had been added, and the yellow hue did not resemble the natural saffron tint. It's possible that low-quality Arabian spices and food colouring were used, contributing to an unfamiliar and off-putting taste. Regrettably, the overall experience left us with the impression that this restaurant falls short in capturing the true essence of Persian cuisine. The absence of authentic Persian flavours was quite apparent, making it a disappointing dining experience.

Yummy Persian kebab, Rice cooked well. They make great yogurt drink and also they served Arak Saagi !!!

This is the place where you can enjoy great quality food and fresh food. The atmosphere is amazing. We’ve been there many times and always had an enjoyable experienced. You can have amazing shisha with Persian tea and to many delicious desserts after food

The best mixed grill in the area. The lamb chops, the chicken and the minced lamb were all beautifully cooked and delicious. Saffron rice great too. Absolutely worth the price and great quality.

The food was nice and plentiful. We ordered the mixed kebab for 2. Some of the flavours were delicious however not all were to my palette. The service was brilliant. Very friendly and the atmosphere was nice and calm. It was an enjoyable experience.

this restaurant is a must go for anyone like Persian and Middle East food. The food was incredible and the service was outstanding. It was the best vegetarian Ghormeh Sabzi I had ever eat.

At its start, Melo's food was excellent. They also accepted payment by card. A few years later they only accepted cash that is very inconvenient for customers. However, and as the quality of food was still OK I continued going there. Unfortunately since last year, food quality deteriorated dramatically whilst they also increased the price by about 40 percent.

A small local restaurant with great service, food and atmosphere. Definitely a great place to visit when you are in Southampton and want to eat delicious halal food.

Been there twice in as many weeks. Lovely food. The meat and chicken were perfectly cooked, the rice was delicately spiced and tasty, and the chips were hot fresh and golden. As an added bonus you can watch the free football on the TVs placed around the area.

I live in London and tried most of famous Persian restaurants in London . Food is really competitive with London's restaurant . I also tried my favourite double apple 🍎🍏 shisha . It was really good , shisha was clean , guy was changing coal every 20 minutes. Happily spend money here

It was my first time try Persian food. I recommend order mixed grill and try all different kebab they have. Chicken was juicy, lamb chops was delicious and minced lamb kebab was great. Persian rice is the best rice I tried. Staff was nice and friendly.

This is the absolute worst restaurant I've ever visited. Their meat was rotten and had a terrible smell. I encountered hair in their food on two occasions and fell ill both times. I strongly advise against purchasing anything from this establishment.

Great place to eat! The food is delicious!! We ate the lamb and chicken with salad and chips. Absolutely superb 👌. The service was excellent. This restaurant is well worth visiting. A real gem. We will go back soon.

We hada party there with our friends and we tried persian food for the first time. It was fantastic food with great service. We ordered mixed grill for four and thier portion was so big. We had a good time in this restsurant. We will back again.

Stale bread, Kashkebademjan was reheated and was not freshly cooked! The chicken was horrible! The Koobideh kebab was stretchy!!! They use colour not real Saffron to garnish the rice!!! Overpriced!! The whole experience was shocking!!!! NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!

Shambles. Bought the platter for four. The koonideh and the chicken was tasteless and very oily. The chip portions was tiny and the bread was NOT freshly made. It was definitely store bought bread… also The place doesn’t even have sauces… they give you packets of ketchup and Mayo. I paid nearly £100 for that platter alongside drinks and it was terrible. The waiters were attentive and nice so the service is ok. The interior is terrible. Booked a table over the phone only for them to arrange a table for a family of 5 next to the toilet. Pretty disappointed overall and will not be coming back.

Best Iranian/Persian food in Southampton. Good value, and I really recommend it. Advise to none Iranians, ask for gravy as Persian food might be a bit dry for a European taste.

We love this place, during the years has barely changed and still doing a great meal every time we go there! Lovely meet, absolutely great!

Food was good and so was the service. We were able to enjoy the four person platter with some leftovers. The location was the restaurant is on the edge of Portswood Road. You will maybe find it hard to get parking but there is a small car park across the road where you fit a small SVU or a medium sized hatchback.

Very friendly staff, good service and amazing food. We had Ghorme Sabzi stew and Shishlik Kebab as our main meal. Both were of good quality. If you have not tried their Ghorme Sabzi yet, put yourself right by trying this tasty dish. I also love their Most-O-Khiar. If you are wondering what are the other appetizers (all very tasty) in the image: Dolme, Mirza Ghasemi and Torshi.

They only accept CASH! Even they don't split the bill! They don't service outdoor dining, and we have to go to the cashier to order! Their manner is so impolite! Food: The quality is mostly low and it is not fresh. Is it worth going even if it would be only an Iranian Restaurant there? Absolutely NO

It was my first time going to this restaurant and as an Iranian their food was exactly like food in Iran. Kebab Koobideh and ghorme Sabzi was the best. I tried too many different Iranian restaurants and Melo was one of the best ones. Good customer service and very clean. The Shisha was in out side area and was very good.
