Melange in Haringey

We had a very pleasant Thursday evening meal. Excellent Fish stew for two of us, a very good Boeuf Bourguignon and a very nice Pollo con Fungi. A good bottle of red wine and chocolate fondant to follow. Thoroughly enjoyed by all. Our first time. We will come again.

⭐ I have frequented this restaurant very regularly over the last ten years and, every time, the food is exceptional. I have made some lovely memories in this place and it's dear to me. This particular visit saw me sitting by the window. The waitress is lovely and recognised me even though I hadn't really visited in about a year. I ordered my usual English Breakfast with no milk. She brought me a little dish with sliced lemons without being asked. I love when the staff show attention to detail like that. I ordered beef bourguignon which was very hearty. The beef was tender and everything in it just went so nicely together. Other dishes I would recommend is the duck breast with cherry liqueur sauce and the steaks (my favourite is the rib eye) which are done to perfection, especially when combined with truffle butter. The seasonal soups are always good and the bread platter with a trio of special butters are to die for - that's called the starter bread on the menu. I had the seafood linguine (Linguine de Mare) every trip like clockwork for years but alas pasta doesn't agree with me these days, a reflection of my age and not the dish! The decor of blue and wood and what appears to be stacked wine crates make you feel like you're in a little slice of Italy. The creme caramel was the best here but they've taken that off the menu, which is a shame. They used to have a screen that played old silent movies. I miss that too. But maybe that's a good thing there are no screens here. No matter how busy it gets here, it's never so loud that you can't hear yourself speak. Mélange is such a unique and beautiful restaurant with great character and professional staff that go the extra mile and are genuinely warm and inviting that it receives the Conscious Humaning's Star of Excellence.

Went for Sunday lunch. Had the roast beef and it was absolutely delicious! Best roast I've had in a long time. The beef was cooked to perfection. Around £20 for the roast and it was worth every penny. We will definitely be back!! :)

I visited here with my husband and we were not disappointed. It may have been one of the best Sunday Roasts I've ever had.The Chicken was cooked and seasoned to perfection, along with the vegetables and Yorkshire pudding. My husband’s roast beef was extremely good too. Would definitely visit again.

A while ago go I’ve celebrated my fiends 40th birthday and it was lovely. The staff were very helpful and attentive, food was great and atmosphere very chilled. I highly recommend it for a night out. 😍

Surprisingly excellent. This restaurant is sooo good, it's a little neighbourhood eatery serving fabulous fresh food. We ate the Home made pasta, chicken and almond seabass. Every dish was brilliant and quite french in style. The service perfect. A place to return.

We have been visiting Melange almost weekly for at least couple of years. Amazing service, fresh and deliciously nourishing food. We thank that whole team for an amazing experience each time.

My favourite Crouch End restaurant. Been coming for years and always met with a warm welcome. Lone diners, you are welcome here! I had the super salad with the grilled chicken add-on. A generous serving, the cauliflower crown underneath was beautifully cooked. Great flavours - a really great dish.

I had peanut squash risotto. It looked how it tasted. Awful. Creme brule. I felt embarrassed for the waitress who was very nice.

Enjoyed the seafood linguine which was very tasty, the service was very good and staff attentive. Enjoy a nice bottle of wine and sat back and relaxed. I thought the price was pretty reasonable and not over charged.

We were visiting for the week and ate here 3 times. Great menu. My 10 year old loved it but it was great for me as well. The seating was nice and loved the decor. The chairs by the front window was my favorite.

Nice food and service in a cosy setting.

Visited for the two course set menu as it was a very reasonable price. The duck main was incredible, really tasty. At first i was surprised it only came with a salad and it was extra to add on potatoes or chips but it ended up being filling enough on its own. And the creme brulee dessert was also very nice. Very quite with most other people just having coffees/working on laptops but we did visit early on a weeknight. Very friendly staff who kept checking on us and were lovely.

I liked it. The choice of food was excellent, for everyone sthg they could choose from and also with some veggie options. I was surprised. Could be more non alc. drinks but oh well. Service was nice and fast.

I visited Melange on Christmas Eve with my son and daughter-in-law. This was my second visit, having previously eaten breakfast/brunch earlier in the year. If I could give more than five stars I would. We received a very warm welcome, even though we hadn't booked and they were busy. The restaurant was spotlessly clean with a great atmosphere. The front of house staff were so welcoming and very professional. I chose the Camembert to start, followed by the duck. Sadly I couldn't manage one of the very tempting desserts. My compliments to the chef on a truly enjoyable meal. I wish we had a Melange in Dorset where I live, but I hope to return. I understand that this is a family run business and it shows. This is a restaurant that really cares about customers. Thank you Melange.

Undeniably tasty but expensive for the portion sizes...

Great Italian restaurant, the food is fresh and delicious, we went for brunch, the super healthy bowl is so tasty, all the veggies perfectly cooked. The fish cake was also delicious and the fish stew is a really special dish. It's got a great atmosphere, quiet and cosy so you can have a conversation but still vibrant. Highly recommend if you're in the area. Also get the Bombolini dessert, it's a treat!

We had an absolutely fantastic dining experience at Melange in Crouch End! From start to finish, it was a memorable evening filled with great food and excellent service. The service was top-notch, with the staff being attentive and friendly throughout the meal. They made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. The food was nothing short of amazing. We started with refreshing drinks - lemonade and cranberry juice. For our main courses, we had a 10oz Rib-eye Steak with peppercorn sauce and French fries, Duck Breast with cherry liqueur sauce, and even something from the kids' menu - the chicken and chips. Each dish was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavour. The steak was tender and juicy, the duck was succulent, and the chicken and chips were a hit for the young buck. And the desserts! The Crème Brulee was great, the chocolate fondant was a chocoholic's dream served with velvety vanilla ice cream, and our absolute favourite, the Bomboloni filled with pistachio cream, was a delightful surprise that left us craving for more. Melange in Crouch End truly exceeded our expectations. It's the perfect place for a memorable dining experience, and I can't wait to go back and try more of their delicious offerings. If you're looking for great food and impeccable service, Melange is the place to be!

Excellent food, reasonably priced, great service. Various options for starters and main courses, not many vegetarian options though. Mediterranean fish stew was 5 stars, steak that my family ordered – solid 4. An offer that night was two steaks and a bottle of house wine for somewhat 50 pounds, great deal and the wine was excellent. The atmosphere of the restaurant was great and we enjoyed our dinner.

Staff polite, friendly and helpful. The food menu had a variety too select from, to meet the group dining needs. Every one in this booking enjoyed there meal and wine. Perfect setting to talk and catchup with friends. A lovely evening enjoyed by all.

As usual, amazing experience. Food is better than even in Italy, waitrosses are very responsive, nice quite music and cozy design. Highly recommended. My favourites are healthy greend salad, steak and seafood linguine 😍 couldn't take a photo - you want to spend each second for a taste and not be distructed.

The restaurant staff were friendly at attentive. Nice decor and atmosphere. Reasonable prices for cocktails and food. I dropped one star as my beef bourguignon was OK, but had some thick chunks of meat and some thin chewier slices.

We have walked past this restaurant so many times heading to usual places, so glad we decided to try somewhere new. The food here was lovely as was the service. It was such a relaxed atmosphere we will definitely be back for more.

Nice location with outdoor eating possibilities. We had a frugal seafood dinner just 2 courses plus a cocktail to start. Bill came to £85 which was a bit surprising. Sadly both came down with gripey tummies in the night.

Airy, fresh interior and comfortable sunny outside seating. Brilliant service, which really made our dinner for 4 here so great. I had crispy hot salty white bait follow by the tuna niçoise which was perfection. Top spot: delicious and so friendly. We felt so well looked after.

That was an excellent and unusual breakfast. Chickpeas spinach fried egg and a small bowl of yogurt. Baked beans on the side, everything really super tasty!

Good customer service to make up for middling food. Went for dinner on 9th June 2023 with 2 family members. After a shared starter we had our mains. I ordered a sirloin steak, rare. Steak comes with chips and some rocket. My steak arrived, looking a little pale with dark grill marks - very much not my preferred way of cooking a steak, but so be it. Cut into the steak, thick grey band and a medium-rare interior, more medium around the edges (their 8oz sirloin is quite thin and not well trimmed). I have a few bites, it's not terrible but clearly not how I ordered it. I'm not going to send it back but make a mental note not to order it again/not to come back. Waitress comes to ask how our food is and a say it's fine but my steak is overcooked. She offers to have it replaced which I happily agree to, takes away the plate (leaving the chips for me to munch onl and returns a few minutes later with a fresh steak, fresh chips (hot and crispy) and fresh salad. The steak is still mediocre, with the undercooked surface you get from a grill pan and the uneven interior of direct heat with infrequent flipping, but it is rare in the middle and well seasoned. The waiting team can't help the fact that the food is tasty but nothing more, but did a good job to replace my dish without fuss. I just wish their steaks were a little better. Atmosphere is fine, nothing special, 3.5 stars, food likewise 3.5 stars.

Didn’t book as waiting for the rest of the family to arrive. Dada & Greta did welcome us and gave us the best seat in the house ,made us feel welcome and looked after us throughout. Food was amazing kitchen staff thank you 🙏,plates went back absolutely empty we loved it. Btl of Primitivo completed the 5stars treatment. Thank you guys and keep going. This place is an hidden gem 💎 in Crouch End !

Lovely restaurant, the staff are always very nice and attentive immediately after you arrive. We always come here for breakfast because it's the best in Crouch End. I've been living in Crouch End for a few years and Melange is my favourite breakfast spot.

Service was exceptional. As someone with celiac disease, I really appreciated their knowledge and understanding. They have many gluten free options on the menu and they even offered to swap things around if necessary, plus the GF is shown on the menu which helps. ☺️

Θα προτειμουσα να το άνοιγαν μπροστά μας ή να μας το έφερναν κλειστό. Αξίζει να το επισκεφτείτε !

Popped in on a Saturday lunchtime for an impromptu bite to eat and dived into their breakfast menu - available until 1pm. Excellent full breakfast with an additional pot of yogurt and fruit. Very tasty and the staff were also very welcoming and attentive. We have eaten here several times over the years and never disappoints.

I came here once because the place I wanted to go to wasn't open. The pasta isn't anything special and you don't get enough to be content, or at least my friend and I didn't. Overpriced regular quality with less quantity than usual is why I would never go back.

Me and my best friend had not caught up in a while so to catch up here and be treated so well was the icing on the cake. Food was delicious. Baked Camembert ...to die for. But even better than the food and this is saying something was the incredible staff. Luca & Nada were the most attentive and smiling staff I have come across in a long time. One of the best brunches I had! Having lived in the area for 4 years I have always walked past this place but never gone in. The interior is larger than it appears from the outside, with a modern decor and a few very comfy armchairs. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. We will definitely return and try them for dinner as well.

Service.here was diabolical . Fried eggs turned up at the table raw, they forgot ingredients in our breakfasts took half an hour to get an extra slice of toast, and service was slow and all over the place. Wouldn't go back for brunch. Ever

Y por 3'95£ puedes elegir un postre de los que te ofrezca. En esta ocasión nos decantamos por una ensalada de queso de cabra y unas croquetas, de segundo, ñoquis y hamburguesa. Y de postre, tartin de manzana con helado. Todo buenísimo!!! Muy buena calidad-precio. Camarera agradable. 100% recomendable.

Food was good but staff were awful. One of our meals didn’t show up, they didn’t apologise, just said it was coming, it turned up when the rest were nearly finished eating. Then they tried to charge us for set menu plus dessert rather than the set menu including dessert (as we didn't have a starter). They had the cheek to add the service to bill after. Not impressed.

The food was delicious, the waiting time was optimal, the staff members were friendly and professional. We loved the vibe of the place and the atmosphere was perfect for a Friday night out. The place was buzzing with people yet it was a relaxed environment with French music in the background which made the place feel even more authentic.

Negatives- The Manager was Unprofessional, Wrong and had a Cheap attitude regarding the spritzers- On the menu it says EVERYDAY 3-6pm £6.50... we got there and ordered 1 spritzer each at 5.30pm and nothing more and yet we were charged full price because 'our receipt was printed after 6pm' when we got our food bill at 7pm... pretty disgraceful melange!! Positives- the waitress who served us was lovely and polite. My steak was great. The calamari was lovely. HOWEVER, My partners 'Pollo Con Funghi' was drenched in salt (the chicken breast i think) and was inedible as a result- surely it is not usually like that?? The potatoes and mushrooms were nice though.
