Mei's Kitchen in Surrey Heath

Ordered a take away and service was efficient. Food however was a different story. The food was absolutely tasteless and of poor quality. We did eat the seaweed and the egg fried rice, but nothing else. The sesame prawn toast we are actually not sure what was in it as it didn't taste like prawn. We will not be returning.

We used to visit Mei’s every week until the take-a -away unexpectedly closed. It’s now reopened. We had a takeaway on a Saturday evening. Not as good as it used to be but it’s nice to have the take away back in the village. All dishes needed more seasoning. The curry’s needed more ginger. Still, however it’s better than I could make. I’m sure it’s going to get back to where it was, which was amazing.

The food is amazing here , probably one of the best Chinese takeaways I’ve had , tried it a few times now and great every time , potion size is good and tastes very fresh . 10/10

I live in Guildford Road and I order every week from this place. It’s the best Chinese I ever had 😋 Every dish is amazing. I specially love dry ribs, chicken chow mein, sweet beef crispy 😍 I’m happy since I found them. Thank you! 🙏🏽 😊

My friend has lived in this village for over 30 years and always got Chinese food from Mei's. It was always really good, and at a sensible price. However, the new owners have put the prices up by quite some amount - the menu D used to be £8 with six chicken balls, now it's £11 with only five chicken balls. The sweet and sour sauce is awful - it tastes like diluted strawberry jam. Nothing sour about it at all. It is the easiest sauce to make, takes five minutes and uses things everyone has in their kitchen cupboards. Theirs is dreadful. I could make it better myself, but why should I when I'm paying over the top for it? Not the same friendly approach towards customers, either. We won't be going back. Shame, after all these years.

We haven’t been for a while , the food was awful and so we returned the food ! We were told if we’d eaten it we wouldn’t get a refund so we got food out of the bin 🤮 the lady was so rude and not worried at all about what was wrong with the food ! They are new owners , new management and the customer service was appalling! The chicken was very suspect , not cooked and the crispy chilli beef was like jelly , then to return it to let them know we didn’t get a full refund . We definitely will not be returning as we were told to try some where else !

£40 is £40 irrelevant of how busy the takeaway is on New Years Eve. Pork balls massively over cooked and rock hard, hoisin sauce watered down to oblivion, and the duck was dry and over cooked. Used to like this place, but sorry I have to be honest, this was one of the worst takeawAys I’ve ever had. Chicken satay tough and struggled to bite it off 5he skewer. Massive disappointment to the family. I begin to suspect something is wrong when there is a notice, stating any food or dishes. That you are not happy with must be returned in the original container within 24 hours. What in gods name would induce a restaurant or takeaway to put up such a notice. Not withstanding, a truly horrible takeaway and a waste of £40, nobody enjoyed our New Year’s Eve meal. Not going back, sadly there are no good real quality. Hi see restaurants in the area. This was one of the better ones, but tonight’s meal atrocious.

This was the second time we have used this take away and again the food was very good with generous portion sizes. We ordered by phone and it was ready for collection at the time stated. We had 4 meals and the only downside was the crispy beef was slightly too well done. The server was polite and friendly. Will return.

If we've not had to wait an hour for food ordered by telephone on a Friday or Saturday night, if they answer the telephone, it would be 5*. There used to be 3 Chinese takeaways in Lightwater, Mei's was always the best, but the others would produce the food in 10-15 minutes.

Really wasn't impressed with the food. Burnt chow mein it was dry and tasted burnt and the crispy chilli beef was tasteless. Now hungry as I just couldn't eat it. Won't rush back.

This is our local we have been going to for years now and it's really good; constantly excellent food quality well cooked and tasty.

The food here is good quality but is it worth the hassle of getting it. They never answer the phone so you have to go to the shop to order. Then they say 20-25 mins but food is still not ready 50 mins later. We tried a different approach last weekend, we ordered our food at 17:45 on our way out and asked them to have it ready by 19:30 we even paid in advance. we arrived at 19:30 and they had not even started cooking it. We will not be using again

Don't know whats gone wrong here recently, the food is still excellent but new receiptionist is out of her depth. Waiting time an hour after going to shop standing waiting for 15 minutes

We have been using Mei's Kitchen for years and its always been very good. If you phone in its about 20 minutes and if your passing by and walk in its about 10 minutes or so. Very friendly people at the counter. Great food and good sized portions.

Best takeaway I've been to.I live in Bracknell and it's a bit of a nuisance having to drive there as traffic is awful at the time I want to eat but is worth the drive. Always pleasant and polite and the food is of the highest quality. I just wish it could could be a bit closer or open another branch near me... It's a real gem...

Lovely food great service and they get to know your voice and greet you with your name know your orders. 4 miles away but worth trip to us

Quality, wholesome Chinese food made with fresh ingredients. Great flavours. Good service. 2nd takeaway from here and we'll definitely be back.
