I'm never returning to this place , food was disgusting. I only gave it a star 🌟 cus I can't give it none on review

Just ordered another Chinese from here we regularly order from here and can't beat it.

Ordered a Chinese for me and my partner I was disappointed my chow mein was filled with water more than noodles and prawns and my vegetables and mixed meat was hard meat with just bean sprouts my partners chips was over done and hard and the chicken balls were mushy and not crispy £30 wasted had high hopes as reviews looked good

Worst Chinese meal l have ever had. Used to be so good. But now. Beef chowmein just tough beef and egg noodles and some sauce. No bean sprouts or mushrooms etc. Unable to eat it. S&S chicken balls, 75%batter and tough chicken. I could go on. For £40 80% went in the bin.

Absolutely beautiful Chinese! Can't fault the meal we've had tonight! Best Chinese I've had in years! Not the best looking Chinese / shop from the roadside / it looks a bit rough and run-down ! But the food really is second to none!

Well done on ruining my wife's birthday meal. 2 hours wait. Lies on the phone. I turn up in person and you just make excuses. Looks like you've outsourced your delivery drivers to uber/deliveroo and they left my order until last. £40 wasted on cold food. And the wrong size sauce for half a duck.

Meir, i love the place. Its getting a bit run down now. The shops look a rite mess, how on earth do the council allow the owners to get away with the mess? Its on a main rout through Meir makes the area look run down and its depressing.

Ordered at 945 didn't bother turning up,I rang an hour later said on way but still didn't get food,really dissatisfied

Used them for over 25 years, but never again. We placed our order after an hour we called and told it’s out for delivery, 20 mins later called again oh it’s still out for delivery.. well I want cancel “ok” was the response.. I asked well if it was out for delivery you wouldn’t let me cancel and she just laughed! They must have changed hands as people on the phone different, despite them denying it.

Ordered food for a large group, when food arrived there was a meal missing. When ringing up to enquire about missing meal, they denied about the missing meal. They then asked that to get the missing meal we would have to pay again and the phone was put down by their staff. Very rude and very accusational.

Had a Chinese from here tonight and it was horrible, the chips were really hard and the beef curry was only warm and very tasteless, will never order again.

Ordered from here, proper nice! Very well balanced flavours. Can't understand the low rating, maybe new owners again? Either way, cannot complain. Maybe it deserves another chance from the previously disappointed customers.

Had a beef chowmain was burnt and the rice was too salty and the chicken curry had no taste to it and we went into the place to order and we get this type of food it is not acceptable for the money we payed we will not be going again.

Shocking customer service. Phone rings 100x and they don't answer. Allways used to eat here but now they have lost a loyal customer.

Just no. Used Meir Chinese since the days of falling out of the Waggon and horses on a Saturday night. Always lovely food. New owners have taken 30 odd years of business building and ruined it in one stroke. Gravy is thick tasteless gloop, rice salty, special friend rice not very special. This is goodbye I'm afraid.

We've used this place for over 40 years and have no idea how many owners its had over that time but they were all good. The new owners have destroyed the menu & haven't tried to replicate what made it a successful take away. The first meal we had from the new owners was terrible but we gave it a second chance (8th May) and it's just as bad. Salty egg fried rice and a salty tasteless curry, a boiled rice which was claggy & salty, Sweet & Sour Chicken Balls which were tough & dry, plus a Chicken Chow mein that had pieces of tough beef in it? It's on the avoid list until a long string of positive reviews are posted, but i'll be surprised if that ever happens. Very disappointed, a once good Chinese take away that will be sadly missed.

We have used meir Chinese for over 20 years, would never go anywhere else, food always was good and great service. But since the take over its gone down bank and food so different, nowhere near as nice as before, will be looking else where from now on.

Food is great and you get loads

Our favourite local chinese. I can honestly say we've never had a problem from here. Foods always been hot and delivered on time. Lovely to deal with over the phone and just as polite if your popping in to order or collect your food. Meir Chinese has been around and open for years and I think there's a reason for that. Definitely worth giving a try, as you won't regret it.

Best local chinese i have had in a long long time none of that nasty boiled beef in currys i hate that can recommend this take a way,,,we use it weekly now everything we have had from here has been lovely

This place is my favourite food place. They're fast and cook delicious food. The staff are polite and friendly. It's been our family's favourite Chinese for years now, never had any issues in all of that time. 5/5

Shocking, ordered dim sum. All that came was 2 spring roles, 2 ribs & 4 prawn toast. And prawn toast was dripping with fat. Never order again!!

Ordered the food 1 hour before they said and then we rang back and they said the women was waiting outside knocking on the window door and rang door bell when none was here and after waiting an hour before work they won't even bring the food back.. absoloutey ridiculous service, never order from there again.

If your not open then the website needs to state different

Lovley food always had from here, but just gets annoying when they put the phone off line for an hour because there busy!

Saturday night takeaway quoted 1 hour for delivery, after 1:20 hours called to check and hadn’t started cooking it yet! Not the first time bad service

Meir has the best tattoo shop around, plus the people are mostly friendly and the takeaways aren't bad either.

Just perfect has bein perfect for last 20 odd years, iv travelled all over the world and eaten chinese food all over the world and meir chinese is in my top 5 best places to eat in the world, its run by chinese family and the food is as authentic as if i was eating in china itself absolutely perfect

Well we’ve just eaten a roast duck curry with egg rice and chips, salt n pepper chicken chilly wings and found it all gorgeous.

Very tasty and not over salty always a winner- the chicken fried rice and curry with a salt n pepper ribs starter is always a favourite. No where else will come near it round here!

Fresh fast food at a great price.

A very nice place. We regularly enjoy the highly tender and succulent chicken Chow Mein. The prawn toast is also good.
