Great food, very tasty, large portions

Went to friends at finlake holiday park. Ordered a delivery turned up quickly and food was excellent.

First time down south and if this is what a Chinese takeaway is , you guys have no idea on flavour. Special fried rice was bland, the rice virtually had no flavour and on the mushy side. Sweet and sour sauce , only thing you can taste is vinegar. Salt and pepper chips literally had just salt and pepper sprinkled on them. Batter on the chicken not crispy. Chicken in the special rice was wet and mushy. Might be how it's done down here but definitely won't be going back.

Every time I get a Chinese it is always from Mei Wah. The food is absolutely spot on every time, fresh and hot. Price is very reasonable and the service is great. Delivery is fast . All round 10/10!

We were on a family holiday staying at Finlake a 5 minute drive away. We picked Mei Wah as our last night take away treat and wasn’t disappointed. Fresh cooked piping hot food and absolutely delicious. If we ever stay local again we will be returning. Thank You

Wow! First time using, and I was so impressed! Food was amazing. So much meat and vegetables, sauce perfect consistency, rice spot on. Compliments to the chef! And the owner. He obviously knows what people expect, and he delivers. The lady on the front desk was so helpful. Overall a good experience. Recently moved to the area, and will definitely use again.

Always delicious food. Everything you want a Chinese meal to be. Crispy well cooked vegetables, tender meat, subtle and tasty sauces, fluffy perfectly cooked rice. Probably the best Chinese Take-away in the South-West, maybe one of the best in the country.

We have used Mei Wah since 2019 when we purchased our lodge at Finlake. We always buy a Chinese and we have had excellent food without fail. We know of no better Chinese food and highly recommend for anyone wanting a takeaway.

Unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. The food lacked the bold flavors and aromatic spices that are characteristic of Chinese cooking. Each dish seemed to be missing that special touch that makes Chinese cuisine so satisfying.Adding insult to injury, the delivery fees were exorbitant, making the overall cost of the meal much higher than anticipated. Despite the hefty price tag, the portions were disappointingly small, leaving me feeling unsatisfied and hungry after my meal.In conclusion, while the convenience of delivery may be tempting, I would caution against ordering from this establishment if you're looking for delicious and satisfying Chinese cuisine. The lack of flavor, high delivery costs, and small portions make it a less than ideal choice for a culinary experience.

OMG. We're on holiday here from Wales and I can honestly say that, without a doubt, this is the best chinese food I have ever had, and I have had a few over the year's. This is no exaggeration. We had chicken chow mein, egg fried rice, chicken curry extra hot, chips, curry sauce and bbq spare ribs 😋😋😋😋😋 Customer service was impressive and delivered as promised. We were able to pay via PayPal, how easy is that 🤷‍♀️. Why don't others follow suit. Needless to say, we are very impressed and highly recommend Mei Wah. The only tips I can add is; 1: that the chips don't do well being reheated as for any chips. 2: I simply couldn't eat it all as much as I wanted to, as it was delicious. 3: Thank you for delivering this lovely meal 👌 Absolutely 💯 and thank you Mei Wah once again. It was exactly what we needed this evening after a horrible journey because of the weather. 🥰

We were staying at Finlake resort for the weekend and decided to try the local Chinese take away. By far one of the best Chinese take aways we have tried. We had chicken curry , beef curry, chicken chow mein, egg fried rice, chips and sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style. Every dish was plentiful and really tasty. Delivered at our requested time to the lodge which was a bonus ! The chicken was chicken breast in all the dishes unlike some/most places. Only criticism - we were missing a rice within the order. Five star ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ for food and delivery !

The food was not the best. Chicken balls had too much batter and were undercooked and soggy. Portions were not the best size but were tasty. Reason for low service was they don't accept card as payment. Cash or PayPal only for some reason, you need to get with the times.

Popped in to get some food from here staff were friendly but the food was dreadful. Firstly got to where we was staying and we had a fried rice missing from our order that we paid for. That’s was delivered to us eventually. The food was dreadful. Fried rice dry salt and pepper chicken was greasy and burnt and chewy. Also very expensive.

Whilst staying at Finlake Holiday Park for the Easter 2023 holiday weekend we ordered a chinese takeaway from Mei Wah. They offered delivery directly to our lodge at a cost of £5. Having spent £98 on food for 8 adults we were hoping not to be disappoint. We were very pleased with the quality of the food and would not hesitate to recommend this takeaway. The delivery was prompt and all dishes we very tasty and plentiful.

If you’re staying at Finlake I would highly recommend. Food was lovely and service was brilliant.

Arrived for our wkd break at finlake after a long tiring journey we didn't fancy cooking so decided to get a Chinese take away that deliver. Great that they delivered we ordered and had quarter duck, chicken balls and pork chow mein, crispy chiili beef. It cost £36.50 we rang and ordered and said it will be up to an hour. When it arrived they do come to your lodge which is great and was delivered within the hour which for a Friday night isn't too bad a wait. When we plated up, the duck was a funny texture to what I have had before and very chewy felt like I was eating pork! Not much plum sauce and not much cucumber which was tiny pieces. Chicken balls there was only 7 small ones, the chicken was fine but the batter was very crunchy and tough! Pork chow mein was edible but a bit dry and tasteless. Well the dish which is my favourite was very disappointing the crispy chilli beef was not even crispy was chewy and not very nice. Such a shame.

Love the food always the best. They now accept cash or PayPal and also do delivery which is fresh and fast. My favourite is the chicken satay or the Hong-Kong style chicken. Great portion size and deffinatly good value. Always polite and freindly customer service deffinatly the hot spot of Chudleigh for food.

Ordered a delivery, arrived half hour later. Great flavours and was hot.

I ordered a meal only half turned up and when phoned to tell them they sent the other half but charged me twice for delivery,,,,, reheating half a meal and paying twice for delivery when the messed up the order is not on

Their food is consistently fresh and tasty and the service is just as good, with orders usually delivered quickly. The beef chow mein, and salt and pepper chicken are my favourites. We place our orders by phone and pay by PayPal, although there is the option to pay cash.

Absolutely the worst food we’ve ever had! Inedible. The king prawn kung Pao had three small prawns in it, it was so sweet it was sickening, with absolutely no peanuts in it. Sweeter than most desserts. Terrible. The egg fried rice had no eggs in it, it was just steamed rice with soy sauce in it. And grease. And the crabmeat and sweet corn soup was horrible. It tasted like canned corn with not one piece of crab in it. We absolutely could not even eat it, even though we were hungry. And we’re not picky. It tasted that bad. What a waste of money! We had to throw it all in the bin! They had no plastic spoons in the entire place to eat soup with, and no napkins. And, they only take cash?!?! It can’t get any worse than this place!

Very disappointed, after seeing the review stars at 4.4 I expected way better, food just simply is not fresh, The fried rice was very bland with no flavour. As for the bbq spare ribs the worst I’ve ever had. They where obviously old not fresh at all, very tuff. Dried out. Most not even eatable with a weird off taste. Just awful. On the Up side chips were ok and the Hong Kong sweet & sour chicken tasted nice, even tho you could tell it still wasn’t fresh. Totally soggy & chewy. God job the sauce was nice.. I’ve not phoned to complain cause I will never go back here again. The prices are overpriced and food quality is not up to standard compared to other Chinese take aways in the surrounding area, I don’t mind paying good money if your getting good food. Sorry guys for my feedback. But after paying near £25 for 3 dishes & chips that I collected. I Feel really let down on the freshness and the quality. Not for me thanks.

Had a birthday Chinese yesterday and as we had heard such good things about Mei Wah in Chudleigh we thought it would be worth the drive from Newton Abbot, boy was we correct! Food was superb the beef and cashew nuts was well worth the drive by its self. If you want great food Mei Wah is a must try!

Placed an order on Saturday 18th Dec for 14 people & asked for it as near to 7pm as possible. Food arrived just after 7 hot & delicious. Even came back to Bovey right away as had left out a portion of rice & a bag of prawn crackers which we hadn’t even noticed. Amazing service & equally amazing food.

Really disappointing, used this Chinese many times, and always good, but popped in to grab a chicken and sweet corn soup, believe it or not it was disgusting, smelled like it was burnt, or cooked in a pan that was burnt black, had to leave this review as it was that bad, how an earth can you burn soup

Whilst staying at Lodge Nine, within Finlake Resort and Spa, Thomas, the Guest Relations Manager for Lodge Nine, recommended Mei Wah for a takeaway. We were not disappointed. The food was plentiful and flavoursome. It’s just a shame they do not deliver as that would have made the mean even more Perfect.

The food was frankly tasteless,as previously reviewed sweet and sour sauce is yuk! Soup served in a takeaway coffee cup.This isn’t the first time I have used them but sadly will be the last,I gave them the benefit of the doubt first time but was as tasteless then.Gave them 2 stars because the salt and pepper chips were very nice.

Ordered beef in chilli black bean and deep fried chilli beef...no chilli in it. Both dishes were too sweet. Rice was good though. Ribs didn’t have much meat on them. Quick delivery and friendly staff. Will try something different next time.
