Beefeater, you get what you expect which is good food, reasonably priced and a great atmosphere. Special mention for Bailey the Barman, what a guy! If I ran a bar he would be first on my list of appointments, superb service and quick too!

We felt that the food offering for the price it is was very poor and we will not be revisiting any time soon !!!!

Been here hour and a half, not busy, but this is all I've had so far...nothing. To be fair, once to food eventually arrived it was quite nice, standard chain restaurant fayre. Did then try to charge us twice for one of the mains, so all in all not a great visit. Waitress was nice and did at least apologise.

Great food but slow service. Place not even half full. Beefeater seems to have let standards slip a bit over the last few years.

Bailey the barman a credit to the company in every way. Should be progressed to management on a quick program.

Dropped in before going to the theatre. Great welcome, friendly and professional service and very tasty vegetarian burger. Definitely recommend.

We went for Sunday lunch,had booked. When we arrived you could see it was busy. When we ordered we were told there would be a wait for food as it was busy which was no problem as we could have a chat. I ordered the roast beef and was very impressed when asked if I wanted it pink or well done.

A nice place with good food and great service

Me and my son had Sunday lunch on 19th January had a lovely server Sharon nothing was to much trouble she was friendly and approachable.My son who is autistic felt at ease with her and the restaurant. Food was good we had ultimate Sunday Roast although neither of us liked the stuffing ball apart from that meat and everything was good the best gravy and Yorkshire pudding.

Liah served us. She was fast, efficient and attentive. Even though she seemed to be rushing around serving everyone, she kept a smile on her face and got on with it. Keep it up Liah, it really makes a difference. The food was delicious, everything we ordered from houllumi burgers to steak. We felt so welcome we even got some cards out to play whilst we finished our drinks. Highly recommended.

Lovely staff lovely food beautiful views

Our Boxing Day dining experience, shall we say, left something to be desired. The advertised vegetarian option, absent, left us feeling rather 'herbivorous' indeed. The leaflet handed to us before we sat down with all items out, appears to be easier to make a list and hand it out rather than rectify, replace, stock up, a shame board from the start doesn't show enthusiasm, awards, care, proactiveness , but instead a please don't ask about these items as we don't know what to do , Tested : When we inquired for maybe a replacement , after giving a substantial pause, the offered alternative lacked the enthusiasm one might expect from a kitchen that truly values its customers. "a plant based something stack" was suggested afterall that's exactly what every vegetarian wants "a plant something", dandelions and marigolds sound more inviting. The cheese fondue, while undoubtedly cheesy, was perhaps a tad too enthusiastic in its embrace of dairy. It lacked suitable accompaniments, 3mm of ciabatta slice, leaving us feeling like we were wrestling with a bowl of molten goo with just a spoon, dare we say, your need to love Chesse straight without the molten sickly nature overwhelming you, – a culinary experience that might be better suited to a Viking feast without the staple. The fish and chips, alas, were a study in contrasts. The fish, sadly, had taken on a rather ghostly grey pallor, resembling more a distant memory of a fish than the vibrant creature we had hoped for. One might be tempted to suggest that it had enjoyed a rather extended vacation in the deep oil, where tough crab sticks could be an appealing alternative and flakes are not expected. The roast dinner, while promising, presented a few curious anomalies. The roast potatoes, imbued with a peculiar over nuttiness, seemed to have developed a secret life of their own, soft golden exterior, from bathing after roasting, The stuffing balls, regrettably, had achieved a level of hardness that would have impressed a blacksmith, the Balance was more like the launchpad at blackpool pleasure beach, Yet the turkey, despite its best efforts, remained stubbornly chewy, leaving us feeling a bit defeated having to leave the predominant leather for cleaning, and I don't mean cleaning the car. expectations is that next years boxing day will have no issues not booking a table ahead of time, as the patrons today I'm certain won't be back next year of they had the roast or fish and chips. Overall, while we appreciate the effort, we couldn't help but wonder if the kitchen was perhaps under the influence of a mischievous culinary sprite, determined to inject a touch of the unexpected into our meal. Perhaps a little less 'sprite' and a little more 'chef' next time might bring locals back in? Honestly the only patrons I have witnessed are hotel customers, seems to slacking a local desire for dining. After everything I am reminded that It's important to leave constructive criticism also : Mushy peas were good, Undoubtedly a familiar canned product.

A great breakfast buffet. At busy times food can be a bit slow coming out, but it’s generally tasty, and plentiful.

Amazing food great service nice price

Had a very nice meal with my friends here today and thoroughly enjoyed the food. Service was particularly good and we were really well looked after. May well be back for Easter. Happy Xmas to all Beefeater staff and thank you

Fantastic service bailey is a legend

My partner and i had a lovely meal there tonight, she had a steak, cooked to her satisfaction :-) i had a mixed grill and each meat was cooked to my wishes and tasted great. A great evening for both of us and wonderful staff. Would recommend and plan to go again soon.

Generally a nice place to eat anytime of the day. Staff very friendly and professional, Food ok, nothing out of this world. There is never enough staff and the restaurant is far too warm every time we have been. Please use the AC to keep a moderate temp. Overall though a Nice restaurant

The food here is very very good but the jewel in the crown of this pub is the staff they are amazing, the epitomy of a true team. Proper customer focus. The lad behind the bar is outstanding and they all made it a very enjoyable experience.

We only had breakfast, it was ok, usual standard fare. Staff were rushed off their feet. Bar staff in the evening were great.

Times were wrong on Google, it was meant to close at 11pm but closed at 10.30pm on the day we. Were there, with last orders at 10pm. However they had a sign in so cars could have a meal too.

Lots off menu. No GF with roast dinner. No gf Yorkshire pudding. No g f sweets Won't go again.

Just need to leave a positive review for the team at this place. All staff were friendly, attentive and full of smiles. Bailey the barman is something else. He is so quick and efficient and pours drinks while working the till. This guy is an asset and hopefully he gets to see this comment. A credit to your organisation and you need to hold on to him. This place is always busy when I stay at the premier inn next door and the staff work their socks off to keep the customers happy. Great job by all staff especially Bailey. He's a top barman.

Great restaurant, lovely staff, good food

Overall I have eaten at other Prem in beefeaters. Myself and my partner decided to go to Newports beefeater for dinner, the service was good, Dinner was also very nice my partner also enjoyed hers as well as her dessert 😋 All good and very nice 👍🙂 hopefully shall return in future

Beefeater Newport iow, took a while to be seated, but was greeted by a lovely polite, funny waiter Ryan, and the lady waitress was also excellent. Food was lovely, service excellent, nice and clean, went for lunch so not that busy, definitely will return. Keep up the good work.

Medina Quay Beefeater is a delightful dining spot that truly stands out for its friendly atmosphere and quick service without compromising on quality. We had a wonderful experience, highlighted by my wife's perfectly cooked medium-rare steak, which was a testament to their culinary standards. The staff was exceptionally welcoming, taking the time to engage with our children, which made our visit even more enjoyable. The restaurant itself was clean and well-presented, creating a pleasant environment for a family meal. Overall, a lovely place that we would happily recommend!

Free parking for visitors to the restaurant and hotel. Worth booking if you can. Breakfast is very good for the price you pay.

Unfortunately, I didn't have the best experience. Me and a friend visited leaving the place to feel unwelcome and possibly never to go back to. There was no warm welcome, or positive vibes from within the restaurant. I did end up asking for a redo with my food due to it being overcooked, however when confronting the staff the response was quite blunt and short. My friend was quite disappointed as she has had a really good experience in the past. So hoping it's just a one off?

Good and service great will return

I can tell you this, I am not a happy customer. We ordered at the bar, and my dad ordered the double stack beef burger. Since I am fussy, I asked for the chicken burger but only with cheese and bacon inside. However, somehow the bloke at the bar misunderstood that for extra chicken in my dad's burger. So when he served us with our food, I didn't get anything, so my dad had to re order it, with my fussy customizations again (lol) and then when it finally came, even though we specifically said, 'only cheese and bacon' it still came with barbecue sauce and salad and all the stuff I don't like, which I specifically don't like and that's why we took it out. So I was really disappointed about this and I didn't eat much so my dad had to give some of his extra stuff. The only thing I found nice was the dessert, which to be fair was really nice. Doesn't make up for all the faults, though. Not coming back here.

Run out of carvery on a Sunday at 3 can't even get served a drink at the bar

1 star is just because the drinks are good. Both the food and the service was terrible. Okay yes there was 10 of us, 2 had tomato allergies, 1 being me with and orange allergy and a 1 year old with a soya and egg allergy and 1 with an onion tolerance does not excuse the amount of mistakes that took place. It took two ours just for 5 starters, one of which my brother in law ordered nachos, they didn't mention the cheese sauce had onion powder and just gave him a plate of Doritos, they didn't even think to great normal cheese on it. He sent it back, then when it came to his food after they finally started bringing them out just short of 3hours after ordering just to tell him he couldn't have his meal as the gravey had onion powder in it, they didn't think to mention that sooner, why? Not only that but he has 2 kids, the 1 year old with the soya allergy and a 9 year old. They completely forgot the 1 year olds food, which was a kids spaghetti Bolognese and the 9 year old got there kids tomato pasta. They tried making out the kids toamto pasta was the Bolognese, well I'm sorry but there was no meat in that and we all know what a Bolognese looks like, even so, if that was where the hell was the tomato pasta. See I'm not a professional but even I know restraints should serve kids first. It was gone past 9 there bed time at this point and they was starving, my brother in law walked out with the kids with the 9 year old crying his eyes out. Not only they they completely missed a meal in which they had to wait another half an hour to eat. Sorry but service and the wait for food and everything was apoorling and we all refused to pay as it was disgusting. We payed for the drinks then went to McDonald's, just so the kids can get a proper meal.

We arrived slightly early but they very quickly found a table for the 9 of us. Very friendly, helpful staff, excellent food despite restaurant being full and extremely busy and lovely setting. Cooked option on buffet service help yourself and good choice of cold and pastries regularly topped up. Really good value and very near to Fishbourne ferry terminal. Can highly recommend.

Place is massively understaffed waited an hour for food both times we visited absolute joke of a place

Staff were so welcoming and attentive. Great selection of continental breakfast and hot buffet. Beautiful views of the Medina estuary from the restaurant. Will Definitely be back with our daughters next time we visit the island, thank you :D

High cost performance, you can give it a try

An amazing meal as always the staff freiendly. Bailey and shaz are brilliant the service was amazing.

Went on Wednesday for breakfast and was very good at Sharon, waitress recommendation about the pie went back today, Friday and was lovely. Sharon very attentive and very friendly and will go back again for two reasons, one because Sharon so lovely and two because the food very good.

Service was fantastic on Tuesday 13th August at 21:00pm as I was staying at the hotel. Lovely menu & drinks. Drinks were very cold what I needed as the weather was crazy hot. My pint was flat the first time, and they swapped it over without a problem.

Wonderful service from Bailey. He couldn't have been more delighted to help, and was very patient with our changes. A lovely evening. Thank you.

Went Saturday evening, waited a while to be greeted and seated, had to ask to be moved as directly under ac and it was cold! Moved to another table and served promptly for drinks (not a happy waiter) then a waitress greeted us, said she would take our order shortly but she had a great personality and was smiling. Order taken, mixed grill, steak, chicken burger and ribs chicken combo all delicious. Sharon the waitress was a joy and made our evening.

Went here for a Sunday roast with my family. The chicken was lovely and a nice portion size. However the lamb looked like bacon, there was no stuffing available (we weren’t late in for Sunday dinner nor was it busy) the portion sizes were awful and there was minimal gravy which when asked for more we were told it’s £1.49 per person for a tiny pot (refillable). One of the members in our group complained, returned his lamb dinner and didn’t eat at all! The manager came over and said that people always moan about portion sizes and always complain about the lamb and beef. He said he has to serve what he’s told to serve and did offer us all 3 lamb meals for free plus a discount on top. I cannot fault the service offered here but the food was awful and I would not recommend this restaurant at all.

Bailey at the bar was exceptionally helpful, processed our order very quickly and got us a copy receipt very efficiently. Couldn’t ask for more from a server.

I’m amazed at all the good reviews to be honest. The woman took our orders when we first got there and she never came back again until the very end. She never checked if everything was ok, she never asked us if we wanted another drink, we had to flag someone else down eventually to get sauces and drinks. My daughter’s food order was wrong so they had to redo it, which meant she had to sit there while we ate and finished our food, then had to eat on her own. We never got asked if we wanted desserts. In the end we flagged someone down and asked for the bill. We gave the girl our Blue Light discount code and off she went. Then the original woman finally came back with the bill and apologised for the food mix up and said she had removed some drinks from the bill. That’s great but she also charged us full price without the Blue Light discount. To top it off we never got the desserts that were part of the 3 course kids meals that we paid for. The only saving grace was that the food was nice. Won’t be going again.

Lovely food and excellent service

Came here for the breakfast menu with my family from having travelled over via the ferry. Good selection of hot food on an all you can eat offering, where you help yourself to it. This also Includes pastries, fruit, yogurts and toast/crumpets/pancakes. There was also a small selection of different cereals avaliable. All of this includes free refills on tea, coffee, apple and orange juice. The added bonus, was the person who served us and got us seated gave us vouchers for our next visit for 25% off, which was a nice touch.

Fabulous breakfast this morning - wonderful service from Claire and Dave who worked tirelessly to make sure everything was spot on for all the customers. The food was plentiful with well stocked choices. Hot food was piping hot as it should be and very tasty too! Definitely recommend

Had Sharon as my server tonight she was absolutely amazing the food is the best I have had in a beefeater in a long time. Steak was proper juicy just over all really good night and time just flew by

place gets 5* for food alone! i had the ribs with a chicken breast, and i was not disappointed. sauce was amazing, the ribs had more meat than bone which was a brilliant bonus, my chicken was chargrilled beautifully. the smokehouse tomato sauce i had from the 74 range was also delicious. service was slightly meh as it took a long time to wait for menus and the bill and any requests etc, but we didnt mind.

Staff were really attentive and very friendly and remembered our party from a previous visit and treated us like old friends. Food was reasonably priced, and unlike similar chains, food does not taste like it came from the freezer and microwave to the table. This was a visit the day after the festival had finished so still had a lot of workers in and out and quite busy too.

Great location 5*, food good quality 5*. Only improvement is on the service side. Waited at reception for 7 minutes, while being totally ignored by staff. No courtesy of 'we'll be with you in a few minutes'. General table service good. Then same scenario again when we had finished our food and wanted the bill for the food, everyone avoiding us and dragging the whole process out. Overall a good meal, minor improvements would make it a great meal.

Stayed here for work on the island, really pleased with the food served here. Consistent excellent breakfasts for the 4 days I stayed. The mixed grills are very good and very well presented. The staff are friendly and approachable and I look forward to visiting again. Thanks to Sharon and Dave for a good experience!

Maybe just bad timing but.....the food was really bad! Fish had been cooked more than once so was chewy and the nachos were tiny bits of tortillas swimming in cheese sauce and guacamole was close to frozen. Bar was not manned. Staff were friendly when we seen them. Overall, a waste of money. Such a pity.

Arrived at this place a little later in the evening due to a really bad experience at a restaurant before arriving here. The gentleman that saw us in, family of 6 couldn't have helped more. He managed to get us a table despite the restaurant being busy and we all got what we wanted to eat. Service was really good throughout and food was good too.

Only popped in for a quick drink with friends, but got talking to the Barman - Bailey, and he persuaded us to stay for something to eat as well. What a great asset he is to Beefeater! Always smiling and nothing was too much trouble. I thought last time I was in that he was having a good day, but he is consistently happy,helpful, and a great salesman. Well done Bailey

Great service, had a slight issue with their online booking system but they made sure to accommodate us

We initially reserved a table for breakfast at 10:15 AM. When we arrived, we were informed that the breakfast items would be removed in 15 minutes and that we would need to eat quickly. This immediately put us off—why allow bookings at that time if customers are going to be rushed? We declined and left. The next day, we rebooked for an earlier time. Although we had more time to eat, the food queues were extremely long, and by the time we reached the front, almost everything was gone. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience.
