Med Grill in St Albans

OMG! I’m simultaneously sad and glad I don’t live closer. Beautiful fresh food. Lovely staff. Quick service. Some of the best food I’ve eaten in a while.

The food and service here is incredible. The staff are very professional and friendly. They always aim to please the customers and I eat here regularly because of the amazing taste and service.

I came to this restaurant on a Friday night and ordered myself a takeaway chicken Med which was chicken meshi served with a mushroom and black k pepper sauce. £11. The smell of the dish on my drive home was insane and I could not wait to eat it. The flavours were amazing, just everything about it was just spot on. Nothing to fault one bit. The mushroom and black pepper sauce was to die for and adding the house chilli sauce and sour cream to the dish just made it out of this world. Now I fully understand why my boys come here so much with their mates. It was packed too which is always a good sign. Anyway, I loved it so much that I came back again on the Saturday night and had the same dish again but this time I ate in. Oh my days, I have died and gone to heaven yet again. The restaurant was packed too and as soon as I walked in he remembered me. I think I’ll be coming back on a weekly basis to eat my way through the menu Just chatting to a guy sitting next to me and him and his mates drive from Luton to St Albans to go to this restaurant especially 🫶 that just speaks for itself. Lived in St Albans for 30 years and I’ve never been here. Feel quite foolish but hey at least I know now. This will be my go to place whenever I fancy a tasty bite and I shall be telling all my friends too. The photos do not do it justice as it was insanely delicious.

Mix grill is super, very friendly, and today, we had a quick service as well. Always love to come back

Quality food, nice place to sit in. More a café feel to it, informal. Recommended! Got a nice selection of salad which is good. Good menu, not expensive. My meal and drink was about £12 ish. And I mixed up my dish, a bit of everything!

This place serves the best chicken 🍗 after having this you will stop going to Nandos for sure. Not only their chicken, everything on the menu is amazing 🙌🏽 you like seafood try their king prawns 🦐 or seabass, try everything

Went to repair the fridge. After repairing order the food. Food was very tasty. And all working at Med grill were very friendly. I will go there again and again. When I come to St. Albans.

First time eating here yesterday. My partner and I are big time foodies. The food was absolutely delicious and the guys awesome. They found quickly a highchair for our baby too. Best grilled meat I've had since I a while and definitely the best in St Albans. Good prices too. Will be back soon if not very often haha

Service was poor and slow. Waited over an hour for my food. Cramped and not as clean as one would expect. Rude staff topped off with FOOD POISONING !!! Felt so ill for days after eating there. They fobbed me off whilst at the restaurant, They then hung up on me when I called to complain and let them know they gave me food poisoning. no apology or offer of a refund, let alone any thing else. After all that the food wasn’t that great.

This is our favourite takeaway food in St Albans. We always got either Chinese or Indian until someone recommended Med Grill to us. Now we eat from here once a fortnight. The food is unbelievably tasty, the value for money is decent (even though prices have risen a couple of times recently). The service is friendly, especially the delivery driver, who is always smiling. Delivery times are fairly accurate. Highly recommend the halloumi and hummus wrap and the chips with herbs. Also the calamari. I used to order the chicken and halloumi wrap (I now no longer eat meat) and that was amazing too.

First time eating here I really enjoyed the food the chicken was cooked very good and the flavour was delicious. The chips here I can hands down say it's one of the best chips I've had in a long time this place its definitely value for your money. Parking is easy to access at all times I would highly recommend it if your in st albans try it out you won't be disappointed for sure I'll be back soon

Amazing food, had half chicken with chips and rice and was tasty. The pace is located in st albans plenty of parking and easy to find. Simple decor in the restaurant i think around 15 seater capacity but experience and the food was amazing, defo would recommend again

All right, so this is going to be a long review so if you just bear with me, I’ll explain to you why this restaurant here is one of the best Restaurants I’ve been to in my life. Simply put the experience here at this restaurant, the flavor of the food, the texture of the food, the flavorful of the rice, the crispy chips, the multiple selections of drinks and the family customer service is exceptional. It might not be the most fancy restaurant, nor is it the most expensive one but I promise you with the money that you spend here you will not find better food for the same price or even double the price. I’ve lived in many countries and I have seen and ate many types of cuisine, and being from the Middle East myself, I would say that the chicken Shawarma from this restaurant is the best chicken Shawarma that I have tried in my life. Now if you do not believe me, please please please go and try for yourself as this place does not fail to impress! Amazing. Also, just as a sidenote, the calamari beats some of the most expensive calamari I’ve tried and central London. Try it.

Shocking customer service, rude staff. food took forever to arrive. Found a hair on my food, they weren’t very apologetic nor did they care and the tables and floor wasn’t as clean as one would hope for. Toilets weren’t any better. Disappointed with our entire experience.. it’s a very tight fit squeeze and quite hot in there

We knew this place had good reviews but we were a little disappointed. We ordered takeaway, they told us 10 mins and when we returned we saw the chef microwaving the chicken shawarma for the wrap. I mean there's a huge grill right behind him. My spicy chicken wrap was okay, I would have liked to be able to chose my salad and the stuff that went in it (I just added stuff at home). Chips were amazing. Although my partner had the cheesy chips and it seemed like they had just thrown a slice of burger cheese on top.

I've been here a few times and I never been disappointed. Friendly service and food always tastes fresh and cooked perfectly. Great place to eat

I came in here years ago with a friend, one of the main owners/workers gave me some dirty stinking attitude customer service and I walked right back out the door. As I was walking out, he softened his tone of voice and said "Brother come back" - LOL. never been back since. ☺️

We come here for the houmous and a chicken meshwi at least once a month. Simple, tasty, and the houmous is unmatched.

The best grill house in st albans, food is always cooked to perfection. Friendly staff and genuinely clean restaurant.

I ordered med grill and first of all the came with no change so I had to pay more for my order and was told there was nothing can do about it. The food was freezing cold and chips were soggy and wet. I ate my chicken and a bone was found (sharp) causing me to choke and spit out my food I then called and they said I was lying and there was nothing they could do.

Can’t be the original med grill people. Chill sauce had changed and rice was not the same nor was it good. Cost a lot too! Sorry boys….something has gone wrong

They have the most amazing mouthwatering sauce. That alone gets 5 stars

Really nice food I travel from Luton just to eat there

I have been eating here every other day alternating between take out and dine in. The food is always served fresh and requested temperature adhered to. The lads behind the counter are always friendly and very considerate to their craft. The sauces are always mixed to the same consistency and the staff on cleaning duty are very prompt. The food is the main star, and the lamb meshwi is the key dish here - a must have on any visit; treat yourself to this kebab house, you won't be disappointed.

I went to this place after reading the reviews but unfortunately I was very disappointed. It's nowhere near good as the reviews make it out to be I'm sorry to say. Lamb was chewy, hard and burnt. small portions. No taste just charcoal I cud taste.

I'd drive by this unassuming little restaurant for many months without knowing what I was missing out on. But thankfully now I know: Delicious, succulent meats with authentic flavours straight off the grill. A++

Very rude customer service especially to females . The owner called me ‘Hey, Woman!’ when my order was ready. Then after this incident, I’ve placed an order over the phone and the staff was rude and argumentative just because I said French Fries and he was annoyed that he corrected that it’s supposed to be called Chips. It was unbelievably rude and obnoxious experience.

Called them 50 minutes before they closed. They waited for me and were so polite and customer service was excellent. The staff were very friendly and the food was just really nice. As it was their closing time, they didn't even rush us or make us feel like they needed to close. This was a really good/amazing experience. The food tastes amazing to top it off. Would defo come back and also do recommend 👌 👍🏻 😊

Best take away in St Albans. I've had almost everything it's all great but the prawns are something else! The chicken is the best and every time you go it's always the same as what you got last time. Really consistent, not the cheapest take away by no means but worth every penny. Thoroughly enjoy the food here so don't mind paying the money.

The last time I was at this restaurant was over a decade ago. My extended family and I were all visiting from America for my uncle's wedding. We got lost one night after we got off the train from London, wandered the streets for hours, were all hungry, but there was nowhere to eat. Then we found this gem. Ate here late at night. Had such a pleasant experience; I was only 8 years old but I vividly remember the way we were welcomed, how the owner (at the time at least) was so excited to see Americans and gave me free blue ice cream. Just how cozy and wonderful of an environment this place was. Ended up coming back for brunch later on during our visit just because of how much we loved it. I've always wanted to return to England, and if I do, this is one of the places I'm sure I'll go.

Great local place for levantine grills. A visit to Need Grill will definitely pleasantly surprise you. Delicious food for reasonable prices, I've been with my teen kids and they loved it too.

Delicious food full of flavours been for the first time with my friends and had some mixed grill and the fish are amazing and friendly helpful staff and clean restaurant I definitely go back again and highly recommend this place

I found a hair in my food . Staff aren’t that nice , especially if you are a non Muslim woman . Slow service , waited ages for food and it wasn’t all That nice . Small restaurant so you feel cramped and cold. Rude manager, he’s unhelpful disrespectful and a aggressive man. As long as you don’t complain and smile and pretend all is ok they will be polite , but as soon as you have an issue they are rude and dismissive .

Fresh prepared food, reasonably priced and tasty. It's not my first time and it won't be the last one.

Ordered food, told it would be ready in 30 minutes, came to collect, watched as they handed over an order to someone else and then had to wait another 20 minutes for my order. If you're cooking the same food on a set menu you should be able to let your customers know how long their food will take, that way they can either order from elsewhere or come at the appropriate time.

Very busy on a saturday evening. Meat was chewy and cold. +45 minute wait for a small portion of a "mixed grill".

Love this place, try their chips, they use a special pepper on them.

A great place to eat an authentic Middle Eastern food full of flavours. Highly recommended.
