Meah Tandoori in Luton

Just wanted an inexpensive curry the evening before an early flight from Luton and chose this because of its proximity to the airport hotel. Couldn't believe our luck! We had the place to ourselves, service was 5* and the food was absolutely delicious. Pickle tray had great variety, and the rotis and chapatis were lovely. Will have to think of an excuse to visit again :)

I went to this place as a group. I wouldn't say what I had was proper Indian food. We ordered Tandoori BBQ which was good. But other dishes like Butter chicken, the quantities were really small and the sauce that is supposed to be red turned out to be very light red as if it was uncooked tomatoes. Also, you couldn't feel the flavor. Chicken Tikka Masala is supposed to be little bit spicy, but to my surprise it had coconut flavour. As for the biryani, we order Veg Biryani and Prawns Biryani. Didn't taste like Biryani but more like rice with spices. Prawns we had to look for it as it was very small. Anyone who tasted proper Indian food, would know what I'm talking about.

We tried chattichoru and Al faham mandi, and it was so yummy. Food quantity is really good.Nice atmosphere and Best service.keep going Theenmesha team. All the best.

Quiet but homely. By far the best Bhuna I have had in a long time outcompeting some well known and more expensive establishments

Came here recently with a friend for a bite to eat after the football. Lovely small restaurant that was sadly very quiet (we were about the only ones there) though I've no idea why - this was the best Indian meal I've had in ages! As you'd expect with it being so quiet, service was quick and attentive. Decent portion sizes and my naga spiced sag chicken was beautifully flavoured without being overpowered by the chilis. Decent nan bread and rice too, and all very reasonably priced. Will happily return - far better than anywhere else I've been in town (though I'm only a sporadic visitor as I live in Kent these days).

I got one.of the special dishes was looking forward to a nice curry but when.i.got it home.there was hardly Amy sauce and half a tube of curry very disappointing I will not be going back

Food was good but the service terrible. Extremely rude waiter who seemed to hate us for just walking in the place. Literally threw down the towels at the end and they hadn’t been warmed up. Tried to get his attention to ask if they could be heated but he ignored us

Worst chicken biriyani I ever tasted. Staff/manager was so rude and billing was not proper. They manually typed the price and gave me "NOT PAID" receipt even after I paid. He told me that's how it is, when I asked about this. Never go to this place if you wanna have a peaceful dinner.

Ordered a take away to be delivered. The total cost was £82 and I was still charged £1 for delivery ! The food was ok but the foil cartens with the main meals in were only half full, at £10 a portion I expected more.

The curry we got from Meah was good, the service was okay too. Unfortunately, our nan was dry / burnt and too rubbery.

Food was okay but the service and other charges(water) are very high.

Another lovely evening spent at Meah’s with family. Very flavoursome food served as always and the staff are always so friendly. I’ve been coming here for over 25 years as it’s the best Indian restaurant in the area by far.

Great dining experience at this restaurant last night. Food was very fresh and tasty and portions were very generous. Waiter service was professional and friendly and the restaurant was very clean. Will definitely visit again soon.

Tried Meah for the first time and it's quickly jostled for top spot in our list of favourite Indian restaurants (sharing with Spice of Caddington.) Both restaurants have a loooong history in the area - not an easy feat for any restaurant business - and if you've eaten there you know why. To begin, Meah is not much to look at from the outside. You'd be forgiven for thinking it's just a hole in the wall that does take-away. We knew otherwise from other reviews and had low expectations, but the anonymous-looking door opens to a nice room seating roughly 30-35 which is simply and pleasantly decorated - perhaps it has been updated? Our server was polite and attentive, and the menu extensive. It's always a bad sign when you can't find something you really want, but by contrast there were several things we were both keen to try. I opted for the mixed meat Juliette special, while my husband choose a chicken Balti jalfrezi and Sag Paneer. All were delicious, finger licking good. The chilli in the Balti was not for the faint hearted but had such an exceptional flavour. The price too, with a couple of drinks, rice and bread was very reasonable. We were delighted with our meal, and to have discovered a good new place to eat. We will be back!

First the good - the food was really nice, hot and fresh. We didn't have any difficulty getting in on a Saturday night although it did get busier later on. Now the not so good - the decor doesn't look like it had changed since it opened but to it's credit it looked clean. We ordered 10 poppadoms and 15 turned up (pickle tray was excellent though), ordered 5 main meals and 6 turned up. The waiter was quite a character who I could only describe as an Asian Basil Fawlty especially when he moved one bloke mid meal so he could get more people in and told one couple to "just wait" when they asked if they could order food. He did make me chuckle though when it came to paying the £175 bill by asking if I could pay cash rather than use my card. Overall I would recommend.

I would give 0/10 to this restaurant, worst experience i had ever in my life in this restaurant, poor customer service, stall not professional at all , they named as Indian restaurant but don’t have Indian dishes, i asked for ice ; first they said we don’t have ice , then they said they but i will take time, then after seeing all this said just do the bill then they refuse to give us receipt. They were very rude when asked for the bill.

Food is delicious, fresh and cooked to perfection, we enjoyed a lovely meal in the restaurant. Everything was spot on and I highly recommend

never experienced such kind of treatment in any restaurant. worst staff ever. treated us very rudely, insisted that we have to order everything at once or we cannot order. the guy who took our order tried to argue and no privacy was given. he taunted and said something vulgar when we said we are going to leave. never going to visit this place again.

Worst place ever they force you to sit at their choice of tables and they force you Oder all together and argue and if you don’t like their service they will start cursing you we literally just got up because they were soooo rude worst place ever worst costumer service ever

Found ourselves local to this restaurant one night and because of the good reviews decided to take a look. The service was very efficient (someone ran out to get soda water I had ordered that they didn’t have), staff attentive, went early evening so fairly quiet but we were sat next to the window, place was warm and music giving an authentic feel. After ordering our food arrived without much delay. Was just as we had ordered and was perfectly good. Would definitely recommend for a casual midweek evening meal.

Living in the West Midlands I’m spoiled for choice with good vegetarian curry, Meah did not disappoint in comparison. Good options, very tasty & service was excellent, I would definitely eat there again.

I have been eating here over 30yrs, but recently, there seems to be a lot of oil in the 'take home' curries, I did take it back to the shop, and was told that I should learn how to cook - funnily enough I can, but couldnt be bothered - prob wont be eating here again - they were good, but bad manners cost

Amazing restaurant. The food was some of the best Indian. Everything was moist and flavoursome. Great service as well. We felt it was also reasonably priced.

Pretty good food, but restaurant lacks in some aspects of service, such as offering water, and feeling welcome in general. Hard to get attention of waiters/staff. Portion sizes were also relatively small, but food was flavorful.

Regular venue when the "lads" decide to get together for a night out. Staff very friendly and a good choice of food and drink. Nice small premises just on the edge of town.

Best curry I’ve had in years, we ate there this evening as vegans and they were so helpful and understanding of our dietary requirements. The food came out piping hot and was served with a smile. Will 100% come again.

We have enjoyed meals both in the Meah and via home delivery. We cannot fault it , the service and food over many months has been consistently excellent. I never complete reviews on one or two visits, rather over a period of time and this is the best Indian food my family and I have enjoyed over many years. Absolutely First Class, would always recommend the food.

Stopped at a local hotel to break our journey home. With no prior knowledge of where to eat, Google gave us some options 😊 Going on the reviews, we chose Meah. Safe to say, we were not disappointed. Attentive staff and fabulous tasting food. We chose, Roast Bengal, Chicken special naga bhuna, mushroom rice, bombay aloo and garlic naan. All fabulous dishes and the mushroom rice was the best we've ever had anywhere, including eating it in India. Portion sizes were perfect. Total cost including 2 x double vodkas and beer = £45. Would definatley revisit if we're ever in Luton again and highly recommend

Arrived in Luton to break the journey home. Googled the restaurants due to no prior knowledge of what was on offer. What a gem of a restaurant 😊 Attentive staff. Freshly cooked food to order. Tried something different to our usual choices and were not disappointed. Would visit again if in the area

I'm a Curry-holic, I travel and leave honest reviews. I tell staff members when ordering food that I leave feedback on Google. So I asked for reduced Ghee in my order and was pleasantly informed that no ghee is used just oil so I emphasised that I didn't want my order floating in oil. Complimentary poppadoms were crispy, fresh and accompanied by fresh onion salad and slightly tangy raita. Garlic and Coriander Keema naan was tasty and keema meat evenly spread inside the naan, there was very little garlic taste though. Meat Samosas were excellent, not deep fried and well filled. Not oozing grease. (Recommended). Both Chicken Pathia and Chilli and Garlic Chicken were nicely cooked with depths of flavour. BUT..... This was after mopping the layers of oil from the containers. The portion sizes were surprising, cartons only half full. Luckily I had ordered a selection of dishes. Big eaters will have to order portions of rice to pad out individual main courses.

First visit for us whilst staying in Luton. Looks very small from the outside buy very cosy inside. Felt very safe. Good social distancing measures in place. Food excellant. Very friendly service. Good price. Will certainly visit again & highly reccommend.

Best Indian food in Europe! Highly recommend!

The food was really good. As always. But the beer. £8.95 for a bottle 750 ml of King Cobra beer and £4.95 for a small bottle. There was two of us. The bill came to £55. Drink was 2 large bottles at 8.95 each, 1 small bottle for 4.95. Thats £22.95.

Absolutely superb food and service. So glad I have rediscovered this gem. Can’t wait to come back and try some more dishes from the comprehensive menu.

We had an extremely delicious meal at Meah, I particularly enjoyed the Lamb Tikka Biryani and the poppadoms. Very friendly staff, and although they didn't have any highchairs they were welcoming to our 18-month old daughter.

Good food have had takeaway 4 or 5 times and ordered by phone BUT the first time I used the online system I hit collection and when I enquired that it said it was ready but not arrived the person on the phone was SO RUDE. Shame if he had said no problem I would be still a customer but for me they have lost a loyal customer.

The food was nice, we liked everything that we ordered. Waiter was very friendly, he helped us with the menu and suggested masala dal which we liked a lot. Overall it was a good experience.

De passage à Luton une soirée avant de revenir en France, nous avons trouvé ce restaurant indien sur notre chemin. Nous avons bien fait de nous arrêter. Nous avons eu un super accueil avec des personnes très attentionnées et attentifs à tous y compris les enfants. Nous avons fait une demande un peu insolite et il n'y a eu aucun problème. Concernant les plats, ce fut vraiment très bien. Mon plat était un délice (une des spécialités du chef) et celui de ma femme était très bon également. Si vous chercher de bons plats indiens et un super accueil, n'hésitez pas à vous y arrêter.

Awesome food. I wasnt content with one of the dishes delivered to me. They got me another dish with no extra cost. Will defo recommend them.

Staying in a nearby hotel, we wanted an early dinner somewhere close by, and this restaurant had good reviews. Well, the reviews were right. Free parking outside was a good start. I had onion bhajis to start, they were good, freshly cooked and nicely spiced. Husband had a seekh kebab, which he liked. Mains were prawn dhansak and a Balti chicken. My dhansak had plenty of prawns and was fairly hot spiced, which I liked very much. Plain rice, and a lovely light naan bread, crispy at the edge and puffy in the middle. Very friendly and chatty staff were a bonus, really enjoyed talking about travels. Will be back any time we’re flying from Luton.

Can not fault the food here it was absolutely lovely me and my boyfriend shared a chicken tikka masala with pilau rice, onion bajhis, naan bread and popadoms. I ordered a coke and my other half ordered two cobra beers and the bill came to £35 so reasonably priced. The decor in the restaurant was quite aged and the place had a slight smell of damp / mould. Apart from that it was nice.

I've tried most of the indian restaurants in Luton, and this is now my favourite, parking is handy right outside, and the service is really good. very good traditional menu with a few naga chilli specials.

Pulled off the M1 on journey home and plumped for this on account of good reviews and also that we could use our taste card. We should have checked at the start of our meal, rather than being told they no longer take it at the end, but that didn’t detract from really nice food, with a extensive traditional menu. I’d go again certainly

For a town with a large sub continent population it's sometimes difficult to find good Indian cuisine in Luton but my first visit to Meah in over 20 years was a pleasant experience. It's a tiny restaurant but we found the food really good and the staff pleasant and welcoming so if you're looking for a good curry in Luton give it a go. Recommended

We used to use another Indian who sponsor a lot of roundabouts (locals Will know !) And meah is tastier, larger portions and cheaper. The garlic tawa mushroom is amazing! Highly recommended.

So I was visiting Luton to see some relatives and decided to eat out with the cousins. We stumbled on to this restaurant because apparently the food was good here. my cousins were right the food here is so delicious! The staff were friendly too and making sure we had everything . The only downside is that the service was way too slow that’s why one star down but otherwise the food was the best of all!

We picked this place as we were staying at the airport overnight and it had good reviews. The food was beautiful fresh cooked and delicious. All the staff were really friendly. If you are staying at Luton airport it’s well worth a visit there is free parking after 6pm near by and it was only about a mile away

Food fantastic albeit EXTREMELY Slow, like almost an hour wait and there's only about 8 tables in the place (only 4 of which were occupied) . Nan bread was super delicious too. Atmosphere was ok, maybe a bit too quiet (I felt like I had to lower my voice so as not to be overhead). Overall good experience.

We really enjoyed our meal; lovely food and very good service. This is a straightforward Indian restaurant that does all the important things right. The basic staple dishes we had were really well cooked and flavoured. Things like a delicious dhal, really well flavoured and cooked roti and naan and really fresh curries that had obviously been marinated for a good amount of time,

Whether you're a local or just passing through I would recommend this restaurant. I had Paneer Tikka to start followed by King Prawn Naga. The flavour of the Naga was out of this world. Excellent value for money.

Staying in Luton for a University Interview we were scouring trip advisor for ideas on a Sunday night. Uninspired by the photo of the exterior but inspired by others' feedback we decided to give it a go and were so glad we did. Tasty food beautifully served in lovely decor and by excellent and attentive waiters. Would 100% go back

Rarely write google reviews, but this was really different from standard indian takeaway. Great flavour, not greasy, fast and polite service, interesting menu, and delivered to Caddington!

The exterior isn’t very inspiring but inside it’s immaculately clean and well presented. The staff are friendly, the service is good and speedy and the food is very nice indeed.

I haven't been here for a good couple of years but what a really good meal. Staff friendly. Reasonably-priced. Well worth a look
