Meadow Croft Kitchen in Chelmsford

Lovely lunch, great local wine and comfortable surroundings. Nikki looked after us very well and we shall definitely return soon.

I visited today with my daughter and 2 month old granddaughter. This meant a pram to be accommodated. Ava and the team were so kind and thoughtful, nothing seemed too much trouble. We both had the Brie and Walnut focaccia with chips, homemade coleslaw and salad; this was absolutely delicious! The take home cakes were reviewed as exceptional, so we will be back very soon. Thank you Ava for being so friendly, it made our meal.

What an amazing place to meet friends for lunch. Had to queue for a little while but it moved quickly and staff were keeping everyone informed of how long the wait could be. When shown to our table the waitress, Ava, came over and introduced herself and told us not to rush. She was very helpful and knowledgeable. Understood our humour. Food was very good and we didn’t have to wait long for it. Will definitely be visiting again. Thanks Ava from the Easy 4.

This is a lovely garden centre especially now the restaurant is relocated which is lovely with nice decor. The staff are friendly and helpful, with one exception in the shop. The loyalty card is worth getting. I got a pack of 6 violas today with points on my card. The shop is always well laid out with a range of items from clothes to food. At the moment a nice Halloween display and of course there is the German Christmas market which is extended this year. The menu is varied but very overpriced for some items. I was very disappointed today. I had soup which was tasty but it was served with two slices of sliced bread (it was quite hard) like you get in a supermarket, with just two packs of butter. With soup you usually get a roll or some nice fresh bread. This cost £9. I’d think twice before eating there again. We both left most of the bread.

I’ve been to the kitchen a few times and each time has been wonderful. Cake dreams. Personal fave is a jacket potato with kiln salmon but today’s delight is my new fave beef humus/ beetroot/feta with avocado ..compliments to the chef, staff so helpful, courteous and cheerful ..Ruby served me and was lovely and professional, I’ll be back

This was my first time visiting Meadow Croft Kitchen and what a lovely surprise. The decor is lovely and tables are not squashed together so you can get in and around the chairs easily. It feels very airy and bright. Our server was a lovely lady called Sheldon who went above and beyond with our requests for several things. If you haven’t been then I highly recommend trying it. You can download their app and at your 1st visit you will find a 10% discount on your meal AND they offer one free plant worth £2.99! What are you waiting for 😊
