Simply the best pasties we have ever had! You know it’s going to be good when there are only two options - ‘meat’ or ‘vegetable’ in either regular or large. It said to me, ‘this is the way we have done it for centuries and if you don’t like it, find somewhere else.’ Love that!

Best steak pies, Corniche Pasty & Sausage rolls. Staying at a local campsite, the owner advised us to visit & we were not disappointed. All the above were so good, that we stocked up before travelling home!

WOW, they really do make and sell the best pasties, we shared a large and it was big, nice and hot + full of fresh ingredients (nothing like you normally buy) Also purchased scotch egg and sausage roll, nice, however if you try the pasty first, everything else comes second.

Have been buying their Pasties for 20 years ... but oh my goodness just buy some of their fillet steak and take it home .... why eat out when you can buy something this good and cook it yourself so simply

Fantastic and very tasty Cornish pasties. Packed with proper ingredients. Nice moist pastry case. Served warm straight from the oven. I believe they continually cook them in batches throughout the day so they are all fresh. We also had a couple of their scotch eggs which were also very good. Highly recommended. We also visit this butchers when in the area.

I was walking around St Just, and wanted a locally made pasty, so I came here, and I am so glad I came here. The young woman was incredibly friendly & helpful! Definitely coming here again. Everything there, is worth every single penny.

Wanted to buy locally whilst on holiday in St Just so popped in for a Sunday Joint. The young lady serving was very helpful and the joint she helped select was excellent.

I don't quite understand people complaining here about the price. We paid £4.50 each for the "large" ones, which I admit sounds a lot compared to what you get elsewhere, but they were HUGE and crammed with top quality meat and went down a treat while looking at the waves crashing against the rocks at Cape Cornwall, having just come out of the oven. Please tell me where else you can get a really decent filling lunch made with quality ingredients for less than a fiver? Want cheap? Go to the supermarket and buy one wrapped in plastic made last month and then frozen!

Very decent pasties. Meat and vegetables not mixed. Good pastry. Nice and hot. Thoroughly enjoyed them looking out to sea below the lighthouse.

Really great baked goods, sausage and onion sausage rolls, pasties and scotch eggs all superb and freshly baked, sausages/chipolatas and bacon seem like you're getting a deal but 3 packs for £12 is not a deal. Coleslaw made with salad cream is a new experience, not everyone's cup of tea but not too bad but for really cheap ingredients this is a very expensive product at £13.20 a kg!! I would recommend this place for their baked goods only.

If you in or near St Just, pop into this local butcher for a fresh Cornish pasty, as they are absolutely delicious. They are made fresh throughout the day, as well as other baked goods like sausage rolls, which also looked tasty. The pasties are packed full of beef and vegetables and were filling – great for lunch! Excellent value for money as cheaper than other places we’d seen around Cornwall and far better quality.

Thinking to avoid supermarkets and support the local economy, I popped in for a pasty and also bought a pot of coleslaw. Imagine my surprise when I was charged over £8 for the privilege! The pasty cost £3.95and the 310g pot of “homemade” coleslaw a whopping £4.09! That’s £13.20 a kilo! I took a deep breath and paid. Given that the ingredients of said deli delight we’re 47% cabbage, 16% carrot, 10% apple, I discovered that a whopping 26% was salad cream! Seriously? Yes, seriously. SALAD CREAM! Needless to say, all I could taste was tart and vinegary salad cream. Where was the onion, the mayonnaise, the finesse of this proclaimed butchers and delicatessen? Don’t get me wrong, there are some fantastic local shops in St Just. In fact I wish I’d just bought the ingredients (sans salad cream) from the lovely greengrocer over the road. I’d have made over a kilo of coleslaw for less than £2. I know times are hard but this really is the limit.

Been buying pasties ever since hanging out with my friends, since then not a care in the world, some pasties have not enough egg wash on them, makes them very dired in your mouth, lack of potatoes, not enough seasonal in them, one of my friends found little black hairs in her pasties, really put her off buying from them again.

Popped in for a pasty, great service, pasties are to die for! Also picked up a few deli treats! Will be back again for sure

Great shop with lovely food came on Saturday and was severed by a lovely young lad who helped me out a lot in the shop. Brilliant service!

If you like lots of meat in your pasties, then McFadden's is the place to go. My daughter likes them because they don't have as much pepper as some other pasties.

A visit to St Just isn't the same without a delicious Cornish pasty from Mcfadden's. The traditional pastie is still the best.

Some may think such a small thing as a pasty is not worthy of any review. However I have a feeling many of you, especially when in Cornwall, will sample at least one of these classic English morsels. As I did on a recent visit, a few were sampled in search of the best, a task that in fairness has been gong on for years. St Just itself is worth a visit when in the area, quaint town and at it's heart is McFaddens Butchers. A fine array of locally sourced meats and products are crying out to be BBQ'd if on holiday in the area. Then there are the pasties, baked fresh on site in around 4 batches per day such is the demand. These guys get the few basic aspects of a pasty just right, why do so many others fail?! Delicious rich pastry baked to a golden brown, perfectly cooked veg which are moist and soft then for me the two main winners from this beauty. No stingy portion of mince or finely chopped beef here, just a chunk of medium rare (yes I saw pink!) beautiful beef that runs the entire length of the pasty. Thick, juicy, tender and melt in the mouth. Then the seasoning, always lacking in so many others! A good level of saltiness and perfect dose of warming pepper that lingers long once the deed is done. The large version is around £4.50 but I'd have paid more, a meal in itself and worth every penny. So good I'll make a special trip when I visit Cornwall again later this year, thanks guys!

Popped in here for pasties as this was the nearest butcher to our rental cottage. Divine!! We could not buy veggie pasties until 11:30am but the meat ones were hot out of the oven and delicious

Delicious. Moist. Juicy. Best quality steak. Perfectly seasoned. Excellent. I have eaten pasties all over Cornwall over more than 40 year s and have never tasted one better. Every pasty lover should make the pilgrimage to Mc Fadden's in StJust once in their lives.

Attracted by their offer of two rib eye steaks for £10. Beef reared on their own farm near St Just. Tender and delicious. Will be back for more.

Situated in St just square this is primarily a butchers.however they do the most delicious pasties.Certainly worth dropping in for one.good service and value for money.

When ever we are in the St Just area, we make a point of going in here to purchase some beautiful tasting meat. Think we have tasted the majority of meats & we generally take home some for our Cornish Christmas dinner! It certainly tastes much nicer than the meat from the supermarket! Their sausages are meaty & very tasty, perfect for bangers & mash. The staff are always very pleasant & helpful.

I always stop here on my way through, the pasties are really good and the scotch eggs are to die for, especially if you manage to get them still warm. All the meat bought here has been great.

It was a rather random choice to start with - on the day trip to St Ives, with two kids in the car in need of having something substantial to eat. Obviously they couldn't wait another few miles drive to our destination and - in this case - stopping the car in St Just turned out to be great decision. We have tried cornish pasties in various places but this one really stands out. Great ratio of meat to veg (proper chunks as well), well seasoned, good pastry, juicy. Positively scrumptious :) Well recommended, bought few on the way back home and they're great even after few days, reheated in the oven.

They sell what I would consider the best Cornish pasty in the UK. Real good quality meat and a healthy meat to vegetable ratio. We had two hot - then bought eight cold to cook when we got back to London! Well worth a trip!

They do different size pasties cooked fresh hourly!!! And they taste delicious! really hit the spot and kept us going through till dinner. Beautiful! More meat than veggies and proper meat, not your commercial rubbish!

oh boy what can i say these were the best patys i have had in a long time, full of filling and very tasty and big too.

What can you say!! Mouthwatering pies and pasties which taste as good as they look, chutneys and pickles just as grannny made them, cheeses, butter and cream from local farms. The selection of meats, and cold meats is very good. The 3 packs of various meats on offer are great value. Fresh, REAL eggs; you can go on and on. A real jewel in the Crown of St Just.

You can't beat a great pasty, straight from the oven. They were the best we had on our trip - peppery and juicy. Wonderful.

If you're in town, stop here for scrumptious pasties, mini quiches and cheese. Friendly staff and great selection. Wonderful local cheese. Pasties come out of the oven at 9, 10, and 11 in the morning. We had a couple for breakfast, and took some day-old cold pasties for the road. Two days after baking, these were still beautiful reheated in the oven.

First pasty from here for a couple of years & wasn't impressed. Not enough pepper, not hot enough so didn't have much juice & as a consequence was dry! Shame really

This is the best ever butchers I have ever seen a small place with so much inside they make the best pasty in Cornwall and full of meat which they sorce themselves also a delightful which sells all sorts of different local cheese and home produced hams scouch eggs local hogs pludoing a local delicious sausage and the meat is fantastic

While in St. Just sight seeing, my nephew suggested we have a bite for lunch and took us to McFaddens for a Cornish Pasty, and after our first experience with a Cornish Pasty we were game. It was huge, just out of the oven, full of meat, veggies, very nice dough, great lunch, very filling.

This is a fabulous butchers with a great selection of cooked savouries. No doubt the pasties etc are fine, but the crowning glory has to be the magnificent Scotch eggs, which are splendid.

Every time we come to St Just my partner makes a beeline for McFaddens. Best scotch eggs ....ever 💖

The very best Cornish pasties in the whole of Cornwall just make sure you don't try and eat them straight out of the oven unless you want third dagree burns ha ha ( sooo worth it )
