McDonald's in Swansea

Simply the worst McDonalds drive-through I've ever used. Pitifully slow, screens not working, 3x out of 4 having to wait in the car park for food to be delivered, and all but one visit got the order wrong. Have given them the benefit of doubt 3x as they are a new outlet, but after this latest visit I have complained to McDonalds Customer Services by email and will see what they have to say. Wrong order (unsurprised as the person seemed to misunderstand everything), overcharged for items, extra burger added and charged for, again had to wait in the car park. As for the so called piece of bacon in the bacon mayo chicken burger, it was the smallest slither of bacon and I wonder if Trading Standards would be interested! Only noticed the incorrect order on the way home, in heavy work time traffic, so didn't go back to complain. Will not go back. Thankfully the other McDonalds in Swansea have all been excellent.

Disappointed yet again 0520 hrs and drive through still coned off....

Order didn’t turn up. Asked for a refund and they refused bc apparently it was delivered — it wasn’t! Absolutely livid. Contact email was no help. Will not be ordering again.

Why is this branch of McDonalds always the worst at drinks! Every single begrudging time I get a hot chocolate from this particular McDonalds, it is literally just brown water it is disgusting! My partner who is not fussy in the least can't even drink it, so it gets poured straight down the sink!!! I'm from Pembrokeshire where I've never had this issue, even in London and Swansea Central the hot chocolates are always so good!! But this branch every single time is just absolutely appalling. Same with their cokes! One universal thing you can always count on being amazing at a Maccies is their cokes and that's down to how clean their machines are, these ones are clearly never cleaned as the cokes are always stale tasting and vile. Or on the other hand lack the syrup. Is it an ingredients shortage?? Do you ration out your hot chocolate and coke syrups?! How after all these 1 star reviews does the management not change anything? Absolutely abysmal, avoid if you can!!!

food wasn't warm and didn't have any straws fir the drinks. delivery driver was friendly though

drinks spilt,so no drinks. no straws, but couldn't use them if they had delivered as the drinks were swimming in the bag. no condiments 🙄

Waited 40 minutes in the drive through for a coffee....wasn't even busy in the drive through.

One item was missing but it was minor and not drivers fault so can’t fault it otherwise.

Consistently very good, friendly and efficient service coupled with good quality food.

I visited here last night and asked for my cheeseburger with extra pickles extra onions and extra mustard only received extra onions and literally had 1 pickle for the whole burger and no mustard

Chips were undercooked and floppy, burgers looked assembled from 6ft away and staff seemed disinterested. Wouldn't bother.

I came here last week and ordered nuggets they were unedible. The Greece ran down my arm and they were soaking wet. The box was drenched. Today I came for a brectfast, I qued for 15 minutes when I got there it was 1 minute past 11, the guy took about 2 minutes to answer the order machine.....and he said sorry we have stopped doing brectfast at 11. Honestly I'm livid with this place and I'm never coming back to this one. Worst mcdonalds in the area by far!

Awful fast food experience! Went through drive through but was told to wait in bay. Waited over 15 mins for food. Had to ask for three missing items when it did actually arrive and my son had to go in to get ketchup. Salad came in a burger box and even the server apologized for state on it! Guy in car behind was beeping and making hand gestures for us to move, which was intimidating, the poor lad serving didn't know what to do and said just ignore him. He was trying his best but when I asked if the children could have an ice cream for all the inconvenience, he said he asked 2 managers and they said no because apparently waiting over 15 minutes, receiving incorrect food and abuse from other customers is perfectly acceptable. Seems this place needs new management.

Waited 25 minutes for a Big Mac. Wouldn’t have been so bad had it been busy, but it was practically empty. Will not be back.

Usual McDonald's but the soft play area is usually closed which is a downside for us.

Having watched a worked walk out of the toilet cubicle and not wash their hands to go and carry on working in the restaurant area ... I won't be returning.

I like the way the meat tastes in my mouth, and the orange fizzy drink. The challenge at this "Home of the World's Coldest Burgers" is that any meal that you have here has a 50/50 chance of being correct. The risk being that there's something missing, forgotten or lost. You paid for a bag? Get ready to have to ask for it! There's occasional interrogation from the staff when it comes to those little boxes of sauce. If they fail to provide them when you ordered, they'll side-eye you & double check your receipt in case you're trying to get free sauce (heaven forbid). But really it's all about the wait time, and if you enjoy standing in a big space next to the napkins for 20 minutes watching the numbers pile up on the screen, then you're in for a treat. This McDonald's is the ideal place to stand around and wait for your food with other people who are slowly losing their patience. To summarise: Food is okay, long waiting times, always, ALWAYS, check your order.

Definitely one of the better ones. Food is always hot and tastes fresh. Service is great. Orders are usually correct with no items missing.

Can't speak to a human to order food, you have to use a touch screen which takes 20 times as long. Gave up and went drive through and even then had to go back in to get straws. Useless

Had to wait 10 minutes after going through drive through had wrong order also.

my food is cold, i was missing a cheese burger. i have received half a box of chips and my drink was spilled everywhere. i am not happy with the service and expect new food or a refund.

Food was warm and fresh. The restaurant was full of flies, there was a section that appeared to not have flies in but it was closed. When we were leaving we found the bin was closed but a staff member had wedged the outside door open with a broom which explained all the flies 🙃

Disgusted with our service from McDonald’s. Ordered food and it was over 30 minutes later than the expected delivery time. After waiting an hour for our food it was delivered and only the drinks came. I told the driver that our food was missing and he told me it was my problem not his and that I need to contact McDonald’s themselves. I spoke with McDonald’s and they told me it’s a Just Eat problem. I am now £42 down with no food and nobody giving us any answers.

Will refuse to serve you at the counter,..you must use the electronic menu,..just point blank ignorance, it's happened twice, once with a member of staff and another with the actual manager, so it's obviously encouraged by management to help at the counter, also getting charged sugar tax when I ordered Zere coke, just getting too expensive, it's more than a pub meal

Burger was okay but my chips were brown like as if the friers weren't clean they're usually yellow never brown and ordered off Uber eats took about 45 minutes so my food was all cold and hard.

Refuse to take a food order at the till. Told I have to use the self service screen. I wanted to pay cash, get told all orders have to be on the self service and I will get an option to pay cash at the end with a print out to take back to the till. Beyond, do as asked. No option to pay cash and have to pay by card. Never going to this one again. I was foolish to try again, breakfast yesterday and waiting nearly 20 minutes to get food. Meanwhile the drive through and deliveroo drivers getting food in minutes....

Wrong food has been delivered. Food is cold. Fries were missing on both meal deals. Sprite was flat. I only live 3 miles away from junction 47. It’s shocking how bad the service has been

I don't find McDonald's very fast anymore, since the introduction of online ordering and delivery.

Coke had spilled everywhere so lost half of my large coke. Luckily it didn’t spoil the food. Also the ice cream had spilled all down the side of my drink. Drivers response was it’s the way that McDonald’s had packed it..

We paid for sauces and they weren't included and the double cheeseburger only had mustard and cheese as toppings

Worst McDonald's I have ever been to. No sign of my order after 15 mins, manageress came out and said 'not gonna lie, fries weren't ready and then I totally forgot about it'. Dirty tables, overflowing recycle area, staff playing basketball with the brown food bags. The contrast between this Mcd's and the one in Morriston could not be greater. Franchisee, please take note.

Been quite a few times to this McDonald's. Food is good, but service can let the place down. Slow to serve and always seems to be Just Eats Infront you. Also, last time we turned up the entire seating area was closed, so not the best experience.

Returned home after ordering a breakfast wrap with no egg due to a egg allergy to find it had egg in it. I'm not unreasonable so called and the lady on the phone apologised and said id have a free meal and side to replace my cheesy bacon flatbread which was totally fine. Arrived at the restaurant to replace the meal a week or two later and was told I wasn't told id have the side and shed just spoken to the women I spoke to on the phone who clarified this which is a lie. Acting like I'm getting a freebie for their mistake which could of caused great illness! And to top it all off, my replacement wrap which stated "no egg" on the label had egg in it!!!!

Absolute joke of a place. Burgers thrown together not even inside the bun. Run and managed by kids. Chips almost always cold. Drive thru is a mess and takes ages.

Service awful.like being in a youth club.very immature ppl serving just ramming serviets on top of the food..wanted to pay cash told I had to use the machine to order where it was card payment only..lucky my husband had a card.. wouldn't normally go to mc Donald's late but were on way home from holiday.

Double Quarter pounder is swimming in grease with somewhat slower service than usual. Multiple customers returning incorrect orders.

SLOW. Took ages for food to be handed to us in the middle of the night, with like no one else there. Everytime we go there,we are asked to wait in a bay and it's usually at night we go when no one else is there.

Disgusting service waited 20 minutes in drive through ordered food and specifically asked for 2 plain burgers for my autistic granddaughter who is very fussy what she eats ,paid for food went to collection kioskand wasn't given plain burgers when I questioned the server was told they hadn't put it through and would have to queue again Queued another 10 minutes ,ordered went to pay the cashiers were too busy messing about no wonder queue was so long got home food cold , Won't use this one again absolutely appalling service FAST FOOD i don't think so . 1 very upset autistic granddaughter.

Ok the veggie food is getting better. The McPlant was hot and fresh, but there was virtually no salad. My chips had no salt on, not really a problem as usually they have far too much salt on. Coke tasted a bit thin, but maybe just because ice melted. Atmosphere ... young lads playing pop music loud enough for all to hear but not anti-social. Might have been uncomfortable for some especially as around midnight but I didn't feel they were up to no good.

It’s a lucky dip what you will actually get through the drive thru. Last 5 orders has been missing something or other. Won’t be returning now as it’s a joke. I don’t understand what’s so difficult about having a list of food and checking that’s what’s passed to the customer. No wonder McDonald’s makes millions because they charge you for one thing and what you receive is entirely different and not what you paid for.

Fries were cold and weren't as many in the carton as other branches, drinks not filled up like in other branches, wife got served a apple pie that had a destroy time of 12:30pm, but we ordered at 3.15pm. Avoid

2nd order from this so-called fast food restaurant. The photos show a quaterpounder with cheese. There was only a burger with a few onions. The other photo shows how the drinks usually arrive from this place. The managers of this place need to learn how to manage and the staff need to learn how to care. Advice to anyone thinking of eating here don't! it would be better to eat out of the bins outside.

Over 20 min wait in drive thru. To get to collection point that part of my order is not ready and will be a little wait. I declined and request a refund. Only to find out that the rest of your food is stone cold!

Fast service hot food and hot coffee. McDonald’s can be hit and miss if coffee is hot enough.

If you are digital phobic, prepare to be shunned, embarrassed and discriminated against. No more till service in store, you must use the imposing screen of intimidation. McDonald’s is McDonald’s. You know what you’re going to get wherever in the world you go, but every now and then they’ll screw your order up or the fries will be cold, 9 times out of 10 you’ll get exactly what you want.

Picked up food late via drive through, 10pm, food was properly cold, not a hint of heat. How anyone could serve that is beynd me. All the kids working rhere too busy messing about.

Staff is very rude. Don't even bother speaking to you. They are too busy joking and laughing with one another. Just hand the food with even saying a word. Staff really needs to be trained on customer service.

Stuff left off the order. Most things cold except wierdly the mcflurey which was already melting. Chicken mayo had been slapped together, looked like it had been dropped. Others were moaning about orders too, staff didn't seem to care and there was rubbish and dirt everywhere, no one was clearing any tables or bins as they were full so you couldn't clear it away yourself. To summarize, a really pants McDonald's, drive on to the next one.

A clean and friendly restaurant The service lets it down very slow. Only ordered a coffee and was kept waiting for nearly 10 minutes.

The person taking the order was very gruff and not listening to what was being said to him. When it came to collecting the drive through order the drink was way off the amount that is expected, so I asked for a full cup, he mumbled that the ice machine wasn't working, clearly not my issue, but they could use common sense and fill the cup to where it's expected to be, ice or not, yes I know businesses use ice as a way to save them money

Happy Meal box and toy were not the running promotional (unhappy child), chips were cold and soggy (unhappy wife), only four screens to order from (which was not enough at the time = unhappy father/husband)....

We we there rather late. Skeleton staff. Most of sitting area was closed off. Food was nice.

You get what you order 90% of the time. They sometimes make mistakes with the order like leaving out the sauces, or skimping on the amount of fries they put in the box if they are busy. Most of the time they are great =)

Had to wait 30 minutes for an order in the restaurant (which was by no means busy), because drive thru was clearly being prioritised. By the time I actually got my order there was a back log of around 8 orders, because we can't keep Karen in her Kia waiting at the drive thru now can we? If I could give a zero rating I would!

Card system stopped working and only took cash or app payments. Problem was I never carry cash and the app didn't work in the restaurant. It worked in the car park but there is a large area within that doesn't like to give signal. So you can imagine the dismay having to tell my kids we have to go because I can't pay for the food. Eventually we managed to get a payment done and food came out super fast. I have two sons with me trying to use the toilets but the toilets are tiny. 3 people entered shortly after using the facilities and we were all shuffling about trying to get from toilet to sink to hand dryer. There was something odd about the floor too. It was very slippery when we walked in and in the toilet. It was like walking on ice. Not sure why but around the corner there were no issues. Kids enjoyed, I was fed, just a bit of extra work to get some food

Out of all the mc ds I got to. Too many. This place peed me off. They would not take my order and made me use a screen then took my money at the till. I hated doing that. took way to long why not just take the order at the till like all other mc ds I go to. They took my cash at the till why not my order. I dont recommend as there just unhelpful. Burger King is in the services and that's what I'm doing next time.

We visit often, and it is usually ok, a little slow, but ok. We went through the drive-through early on a Sunday morning. We gave our order and waited around 10 mins to pay. After we paid, we were given drinks relatively quickly, but asked to wait in parking bays for food. The parking bays were full of people waiting so we had to move to the car park. After another 10 mins of waiting, my husband went in to check that they knew where we were parked. He waited inside for another 5 mins. There was no one serving and a huge queue. Eventually, a staff member came with our food. He gave a bag to someone waiting in the bays and started looking around. My husband noticed and went over to him. The other car called him back, and he swapped the bags over. Around 35 minutes, after placing the order, we get our food. All three muffins were not what was ordered, but when we checked receipt, they were what we'd paid for, and coffees were black when we'd asked for white. One of the eggs still had shell in it, but by this point, we were very frustrated and late for our journey. I'd avoid on a Sunday morning in particular!
