McDonald's in Winchester

A thoroughly enjoyable stop off at the McDonald's within Sutton Scotney services in Hampshire. This is for many reasons but the first one that must be mentioned is the fact that this was unlike any other McDonald's I have ever been in. Everything was clean, everything seemed to be being done to order (it probably wasn't, but you got that impression), and the customers were not your usual rag tag, knuckle-dragging ensemble of Braydons/Jaydons/Nevaehs etc, there almost certainly wasnt a single Universal Credit payment amongst them - they were genuinely nice, polite people. And this was just as well, because the second reason (and perhaps the most important reason) is that the staff were positively charming. Trying to get any sort of conversation out of a monosyllabic inner-city McDonald's worker is indeed a Sisyphean task, however at this particular branch then staff were all a delight - especially the young girl at the counter (I didn't catch her name - thin and blonde) who was superb. She was a credit to the company. I was impressed by them all, even the older dark haired lady who wasn't wearing a hair-net when dealing with food. I have experienced a first today - perhaps a one-off that will go down as legend amongst my family - a genuinely pleasant and enjoyable experience inside a McDonalds. Well done to all involved. Superb!

Stopped off on A34 southbound services for some food haven't had a McDonalds for ages (and now i know why) Was looking forward to milkshake but as usual, the machine was broken How many times does these break ?? The fries were awful - under cooked, limp and horrid The quarter-pounder was lovely though My advice: avoid and walk left to Costa

We stopped at this service station on our way past and decided we wanted a cold drink. They didn't have any cold drinks or ice cream available. They seemed to be very busy although it was relatively quiet however there were a quite a few people waiting for food. The order machines weren't giving out receipts which a number of people went up to ask regarding the order they placed. Overall this is a poor McDonald's branch. The place could do with being renovated. Poor maintenance of equipment / ordering of supply's. The person who was taking orders and answering questions was friendly.

Cold food so agree with above comment Substitute Mc Flurry instead of one ordered without mentioning it No print out receipt so didn’t feel I could say something Won’t stop again here

Stopped here on the way down to Portsmouth to get something to eat on our journey. Arrived at a time I would describe as off-peak, but there were clearly issues right from the start. Most people in the restaurant were standing around waiting for food, some clearly irritated. We ended up standing for 30 minutes for a basic order. Observing the process, it was clear that food had been prepared but it was not being assembled for passing to the customer, thereby hanging around getting cold. When we did get our food it was, as expected, cold, which for a 30 minute wait was very disappointing. I have been here before; it has never been great but this was by far the worst visit I have experienced.
