McDonald's in Wakefield

Update 1st June 2025. Left feedback on McDonald's own feedback service several times re the terribly slow service. No attention paid to that or previous review here, or for that matter, other peoples' reviews on the same topic. Went again today and it took 23 minutes to deliver to the table two very dead cheeseburgers and Arctic temperature fries. Not good enough! McDonald's HQ need to audit this place and put the franchisee on notice. Original review: Used to be the best McDonalds in the area, now the worst by a big margin. Biggest issue by far is the very slow service. Gave up on drive through today. 5th time in recent weeks of just sitting at a standstill. Parked up and went inside. Took 26 minutes to produce two Cheeseburgers and fries. I mean seriously. Place also not clean or friendly now whereas it was spotless and great to take kids before. Avoid until they get their act together. Don't do many reviews but they deserve 1 star currently. Gave them plenty of chances.

The restaurant was very dirty because upon entering, I saw some tables hadn't been cleared from the previous diners and their waste was still there after I had eaten and was leaving. On a nearby table, there were the remains of someone's meal all over the floor and other tables hadn't been wiped. Trying to use the app caused issues as it wouldn't allow certain choices to be made through it, yet these could be ordered had I gone to the till directly. This was not a good experience over all.

It is what it is. Cheap but edible food served by staff who are overworked and have empty vacant stares waiting for their shift to end.

Absolutely shocking!!! Ordered through uber, they took so long that even my driver that was there waiting left without my order!!! Time kept getting extended over and over again to the point it was almost a hour and 10 mins after ordering, so I cancelled!!piss poor service! AVOID!!

Every time I i go through drive through i have to go and wait. I'm not exaggerating it's every time. It's just for a happy meal. What is wrong with management. It's not the staff. It just doesn't seem to be managed right

Quicker than the one I use in Leeds and the staff got order right and were actually friendly. Took the kids and the cleaner guy was really nice and got them crayons and joked with them.

Very slow food, at least 10 minute wait every time but usually hitting 15 minutes when eating in. This site needs head office to come have a look.

Shoutout to Joe – absolute star! Took the rugrats to McDonald’s yesterday and had the pleasure of being looked after by Joe. He honestly couldn’t do enough for us – super friendly, helpful, and genuinely took pride in his work. You don’t always expect standout service in fast food, but Joe went above and beyond. He was lovely to talk to, made the kids feel welcome, and really made the whole visit feel special. An absolute credit to McDonald’s – they’re lucky to have him!

4 cars in the queue for the drive through and all been asked to park up and wait. Not fast food anymore.And still got the order wrong 🤣

Really slow service and food was ok. Chips were warm at best.

We ordered by the drive through was asked to wait at the waiting window when nobody came after 15 mins I rang the restaurant for their attention and I had to repeat the order 3 times when it arrived it was incomplete When I got home there was a portion of chips missing, no dips, and the Big Mac burger had no lid on the top of the burger and I ordered it with no burger sauce and it arrived with burger sauce Every time they get some part of the order wrong I don’t recommend going here

Food freezing and fillet was over cooked and looked like it had been sitting there for hours. Inedible. No straw as usual but this time drink came with ice. And of course the sauce I paid for wasn’t there either. It can’t possibly be that hard.

5 burgers missing and garlic dippers missing, only 1 incorrect burger received. Driver insisted no other bags of food provided so fault of the restaurant-£40 down the drain and a disappointed family of boys to still feed.

Why can the staff never pack an order every time we place an order for delivery something is missing! It’s not hard, read the receipt and put in the bag!!!!!

Didn’t even get the Minecraft toys??

Every time I have ordered there has always been items missing! I also ordered 3x large McFlurry’s, upon arrival there was less than half a tub of ice cream in them!

Food delivered cold and spilt drinks. Not a very nice delivery driver either

missing mayo chicken and missing 6 nuggets for spending 15 pound

one child unhappy, have been sent a chocolate milkshake instead of strawberry, if you don't have strawberry don't accept the order and charge me for something we didn't want!

my fish burger was over cooked and burnt to crisp, asked for extra ssauce which was not delivered disappointed with the quality of the food

Food delivered to hard working nurses and it was clap cold. We work at a hospital 3 minutes away ….

Bins overflowing, sauce dispensers empty,no paper in any order screens, Uber eats etc drivers given priority over in-store customers not impressed.

Ordered and paid for Minecraft meal for the kids and didn’t get the toys so paid extra for nothing.

Missing items Pretty simple to check off items on a list and pack it, half the order missing

Don't go here in the early hours as service is none existent, ordered 2 coffee at 3.45 am waited 20 mins till finally a member of staff appeared they served our luke warm coffee and kind of apologised say they did not know we were there not impressed with service as we were not the only ones waiting,service is poor,drinks are poor over all a poor place give it a miss

2 hours late and only ordered a small mcflurry.

Me and my daughter was in drive thru and we just saw the manager put he hand in the bin and then she did not wash her hands and she gave some chips to a costumer and then some days back there was a dead rat near the window it looked like it was there for days maybe weeks the food was COLD and the drinks was not even fully it looked like a kids drink while I paid for large

Items missing yet again. Order online as restaurants are always busy with delivery drivers, food sat on side waiting, drive thru is always overflowing into carpark. Disappointed that the order was incomplete again. Standards have slipped at McDonalds

I don't think the food was kept in a warm bag. Pretty much cold on arrival. To be expected with the amount these drivers collect at once.

Delivery driver was very polite and friendly!

i ordered to wrong address Courier very understanding and waited patiently for the owners of the wrong address to wake up and answer the door very professional service.

Completely wrong items only thing that was write was a Big Mac burger

The deal said that I would receive a free portion of chicken nuggets if I spent over 15 pound at mcdonalds which I did and did not receive any free nuggets

I clearly asked for my katsu wrap to come without cucumber and it clearly said no cucumber on the packaging but yet the wrap contained cucumber

Food was delivered to front step no knock just left and found it an hour later cold

drink was left in his bag on its side

took an hour and half to come and when it did it was flat cold

mcnugget share box was damaged so nuggets were all over the bag and cold. driver was rude, as soon as I opened the door he demanded the code whilst being more bothered about his phonecall. not happy about his customer service skills

Ordered 2 Big Mac meals & customised 1 with no lettuce & extra pickles. They turned up with no cheese on either & 1 had no pickles, no Big Mac sauce and ketchup on instead. Think the restaurant was to blame so requested a credit refund

Typically the restaurant is very busy on Saturday morning's, however the busy staff are very friendly and helpful behind the counter and in front of it. The kiosk didn't print, staff apologised and ensured my order was found and delivered to me. Two gentlemen were having a business meeting in a quiet corner,nearby a mother was trying to entertain two boisterous children while waiting for their food. When the toddler began to cry they both stood, one went and returned with activity packs whilst the other spoke to the family and reassured the hungry toddler his food would not be long. The child instantly calmed and the men returned to their table and meeting, unaware i had observed the entire interaction. It made me smile the men clearly understood children and the difficulties of solo parenting and it was so thoughtful and naturally done. it was only after i realised they were both McDonald's management. Well done McDonald's, from toddlers to pensioners and everyone in between you provided excellent service 👏. Five star 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟

no straws for milkshakes and only sweet and sour dips instead of barbecue and ketchup , I'm sure there'd be complaints if I only paid part of the bill, so paying your service charge for POOR SERVICE is very annoying!

The burger was covered in oil? I've worked at mcdonalds before, there shouldn't even be close to this much oil anywhere on the line. It's like they dunked it in the fryers.

delivery driver accused me of leaking the drinks in the bag when it was leaking before it come into my house, I was told it was my fault however I've got every second on camera and the delivery driver is at fault

Came to this 24/7 Mcdonalds to be told i need to leave as they are closed.

Come here for breakfast. Everything ok except for breakfast McMuffins. They are sloppily made. The buns are often broken and have shrunk. Other food is acceptable. Wi-Fi is unusable though and the horrid music grates. I wear earplugs to block it out. Place is often cold inside. Watch the parking as they are itching to fine you. Perhaps avoid.

Worst McDonald in Wakefield, always missing part of my order. And they are unable to do refund. Don’t recommend this place to anyone.

When I have ordered from McDonalds, Snowhill, generally it is cold and there are items missing. Poor service.

I can’t get my head around how the food continues to be cold, it needs sorting

we ended up with someone else's order and it spoilt my granddaughters birthday. we had to make what we could from the order because the kids were hungry. I'm not happy at all !

Food was ok but as expected as it loses its quality while getting delivered. Me and my family were disappointed as i ordered a garlic dip which i wouldn’t be that bothered but i paid 70p for it and my partner ordered a share box for her and my daughter but they came with no dips which is very disappointing as it’s obvious you need dips with a share box.
