McDonald's in Croydon

How in God's green earth can this not be the worst McDonald's in the UK? Rude staff. Rude manager. No screens to order. Just a complete disaster. Sort your life out, whoever owns this franchise. It's a disgrace.

Absolute pile of steaming horse turds The most backwards McDonalds ever. You’d have thought they would have the technology here in London but it’s stuck in the dark ages. No self service screens, not even a bloody screen to tell you when your order is ready. Waited 20 minutes for a double cheeseburger, shuffled through like cattle. Couldn’t scan my QR code or enter my voucher for a meal, plugged in a QR code reader which looked like it belonged in the 90s. Full of loud obnoxious kids. Place is a cesspit from the depths of hell.

Again, dossers sleeping in the seats that should be allocated to customers. Again,heating not working. Customers and staff shivering in the restaurant. If this were a company owned outlet these problems would be dealt with. This is a franchise and as such the franchisees dont give a damn about their customers or staff. Money in their pockets is their only consideration.

Look, don't get me wrong...it's a McDonald's. However time after time this branch falls way below the Maccy D standards. Soggy chips, dry patties, hard buns and it's dirty. Next time you are there, take a look down at the front of the tills on the counter. You will find old straw wrappers, unknown crumbs and dirt. The burgers are always dry, it's as if they have no quality control in place. I'm sure they stack them up well in advance. The fries always taste like dirty oil and most of the time it's like you are getting the scraps at the bottom of the fry warmer. Not that this review will make much difference as the Whitgift is due to be demolished for a shiny new Westfield soon. If Ronald came here, he would send the McBoys around to sort out this shizzle.

The queue was not bad. I ordered two meals and the staff member that served us did not really want to be there. Half the order was put on the tray then she disappeared and we were left waiting so after about 5 minutes I called to another member of staff and she apologised and finished the order and said the other lady went on her break. The burger buns were soggy and the chips were hard and cold and not cooked properly. I will not eat here again.

Just observed 3 separate people asleep with their heads on the tables! The staff were just walking past and not saying anything. They didn't even have any food.

You know what you are getting at McDonalds - Yes?. Well not in Croydon. This has got to be the worst run franchise I have seen in a long time. Today was so bad I had to video it. I could have had a three course meal cooked from scratch in the time it took to get a simple quarter pound burger fries and coffee. When it eventually came and despite three repeats I got coke not coffee and ice which I did not want. The fries were cold (probably due to the staff chatting by the fries instead of looking after the customers) But remarkably the box supposed to hold the burger I wanted did'nt - not sure what I got but it was not beef some kind of crispy thing in sauce. When I called a member of staff to look I got directed to the same queue I just spent 20 minutes in.

Decided to grab a quick snack as I was heading to the cinema, the queue wasn't as big as expected but service was PAINFULLY slow, staff had zero interest in quickening the pace

Spent 5 minutes looking at a rack of Quarter pounders before the server realised they were there. Of course, by that point they were cold and rubbery but hey, it's McDonald's. We don't go for the taste! :-) In contrast the trainee server at the next till was everything mine wasn't. Quick, friendly and accurate with the order. So it's pot luck what service you get depending on whose till you end up at.

Listen, McDonald's is McDonald's. That's kind of the beauty of it: they are almost universally the same food-wise, no matter where in the world you are. The menu items vary by country, but the staples of a Big Mac and fries never change (except in India, where you can't get an actual burger...but that's a different review altogether). This review isn't about the food, but the total lack of seating for such a busy location. this wouldn't be such a terrible issue if, when seating finally became available, you could find someone working there to clear and wipe down the table. I have no problem throwing away another lazy person's trash (if I must)...but I'm not cool sitting on Fanta puddles and setting my Coke down on smears of ketchup. Hire more people!

The restaurant was very comfortable, we ordered and payed and before we knew it our number was called. I ordered a chicken salad and want a specific dressing which they did not have and they offered me another one, and apologized. The food was very delicious.

Not using McDonald's restaurants too often those we visited were always open long hours. And there we were in Croydon town, which on winter day between Christmas and New Year's Day looked more like ghost town after 6pm... All good food outlets were located in those big shopping centers, which take at least a half of the town - the only problem was those shopping centers were about to close for the day or were closed already... Not what we expected of such big town as Croydon is... So McDonald's became the only option for us... and only just, because they were closing in about half an hour after our visit. Lucky us! Finding the place wasn't that easy - even McDonald's restaurant locator shows other restaurants around, even those further afield first, and than - the one on North End. And everyone knows McDonald's menu, so we don't even go to review it here...
