The worst customer service experience at a McDonalds ever. Part of my order was a McPlant meal. Waited 10-15 mins at the next window for my small order and, after pulling away, realised I was given a BigMac. Parked up and went inside only to be told it was my fault for not noticing on the screen and was made to pay for the McPlant. Won’t by back

Got told to go bay 1, even though there’s 4 cars in front waiting there to. Waited 40 mins for 6 nuggeys. I am so fuming and the mrs is eating my arm off.

Ordered our meal . Thought we would give them yet another chance .... pah not again . ALWAYS COLD LUKE WARM . Burgers were warm , chips were soggy and luke warm . Mozzarella dips not hot at all , along with no sauces. Only thing that was hot was my drink. Why does no one go in and advise managers this McDonald's is getting a really bad name ! Poor food here.

The food was cold and tasteless, waste of money just like it was the last time I ate there. The only thing worth eating was the apple pie. Don’t know if it’s the quality of ingredients or the inability of the staff to cook properly.

They've really outdone themselves this time. I thought I'd try the new Philly Stack so we went into the drive through. The "end window" was full (and the customer had clearly been forgotten as she was at the other window demanding her food) and so were both waiting bays so we were told to go into the carpark. When they eventually brought our food, the sauces my husband had ordered for his nuggets weren't there (as usual) so he went in and got some. Then I started on my Philly Stack but thought it wasn't very "stack-y" so checked what should be in it. Two burgers - I only had one. So my husband went back in. This time there were no onions, so he went in again, pretty stroppy by this time. He made them change the whole order as everything else was cold by now. The lad at the counter started to argue but the manager cut him off and the replacement was provided. There was someone else at the counter complaining that his cheeseburger didn't have any cheese in it! Their excuse was that they were busy - if they got the orders right in the first place, they might be slightly less busy. The quality control is non-existent. They also need to consider the customers who are there in person rather than fulfilling Uber and Just Eat orders above all else (most of which are wrong anyway, looking at other reviews). This is, without doubt, the worst McDonald's I have ever been to. Every time we go there is a problem - having to wait at either a window, a bay or in the carpark even when it's really quiet, missing items, cold food, food that looks like it's been kicked around the floor etc, etc. It's appalling and we need another fast-food outlet in this area as until they have competition, they will never improve. They either don't get any feedback or if they do, they don't care enough to do anything about it. Maybe if there was somewhere else for us to go, they'd lose all their customers and might then sort their act out. It's such a shame because, when I eventually got the right one, the Philly Stack was lovely.

After waiting at counter for about 5 minutes and multiple people walking past vacantly ignoring us including Alex the manager we finally had a girl who was going home go into an office to find someone to serve us as we only had cash. The order was delivered wrongly 3 times then the chips were so greasy they looked wet and were stone cold. Just terrible service. Easily the worst McDonald’s I’ve ever been in anywhere in the world. Don’t bother. Just look at the reviews…

Sausage and egg McMuffin meal, pulled up at work to eat it to find no sausage meat. Second time this month I’ve used the restaurant and second time they have messed up the order.

if you enjoy missing items from your order, Cold Soggy chips and burnt buns then this is the place for you. Consistency of poor quality in all rears is normal. the number of times I've has to complain or call the place is ridiculous, customer service through the app don't care, they claim feedback will be passed and it will improve... still awaiting for any sign of improvement at all.

Yet again McDonald's Dereham were terrible. It's early, there's hardly anyone at the drive through, yet we still get sent to "the window"to wait, and get forgotten. If they spent time on traini, got a good manager and spent more time on actual customers instead of trying to fill Just Eat and Uber Eats orders, things might improve. If there was competition, they'd have no customers. It's a shame they don't seem to read reviews and complaints don't get fed back to them.

Yet again the wrong order - I didn’t know till I got home. They can’t deliver the correct order or issue a refund over the phone to make it right either. Yesterday my mum was given the incorrect coffees - all they want is to give you a code and not a refund as well! No offer of isssuing a refund over the phone. Rubbish.

McDonald's Dereham strikes again. We went to the drive thru yesterday afternoon, around 4.30 so not at all busy. Pulled up to the intercom and nothing happened. A car pulled up to the other one and was immediately served. Then another. Still nothing for us. By the time the third car came we had had enough so pulled forward to the window and gave our order there, telling them why. Then, as expected, we were asked to wait at the end window, where we sat for about 10 minutes with cars behind us being served and driving past us. It seems that even when they aren't busy, they can't/won't cope. We are invariably asked to wait either at the window or in one of the bays, and then left there for ages. If we go in, it takes even longer because they are only interested in fulfilling the Just Eat/Uber orders. The quality of the food is very poor - cold burgers thrown into the buns to the extent they look like they've been kicked around on the floor, cold fries with no salt. What they need is competition, then maybe they would have to improve or lost all of their business. Sadly as they are the only fast (slow) food outlet for miles around, they can get away with being appalling. It's not acceptable in either service or quality and they need to sort themselves out. Why should we have to put up with it?

Took my mum and dad for my mums 84th birthday breakfast. They had never been before and loved it. Friendly staff and very clean. Well done Dereham team.

This is the worse McDonald's I have ever been to. The food is often cold, items missing, and looks like it's been kicked around on the floor before being thrown into the box. Cheese acts like glue on a burger so it would be really helpful if they took a little time to put things one on top of the other so that everything didn't end up glued together crooked and hanging out of the bun. You can't move it, because it tears, so you have to put up with it all falling out instead - that's if it's inside the bun in the first place, which isn't often. We need another fast food outlet so that they have competition. At the moment they don't need to make an effort, which is painfully obvious.

Dereham mc Donald's please teach your staff to listen and read. This is not the first time my order has had items missing or not what I asked for!! Ordered today TWO big mac meals and ONE chicken sandwich. Got home and found two chicken sarnies and one big mac. Really not hard to get right. Food always cold aswell. Won't be coming back in a hurry. Sort it out dereham!!

Ordered my food it came I opened it to find out part of my order are missing I contacted McDonald's and Uber I'm not getting anywhere this is the third time now I'm not happy I'll be walking in the freezing cold for my order at least then I'll know I'll get my order

Ordered via Uber, food duly delivered. Items missing. Management refused to rectify their mistake, saying it was down to Uber, did they make up the order, i think not. Food that was delivered was of an appalling standard but no point ringing again as they were so absolutely useless the first time. Waste of money, upset grandchildren. Wont bother with this particular McDonald's restaurant again. Not unless they improve significantly!!

My drive thru food was cold and when I collected it, the server didn't even bother to say 'thanks', enjoy you're meal, have a nice day or any of the other Americanised rubbish phrases they tend to use. Is a little common curtesy that much...

Went for a drive through but was closed with no opening times on show or at least obvious. After googling realised it was 6 so waited the 5 mins. Someone opened the lane at 6 dead on....great!! Only to wait 4 mins to be spoken...

Once again a bank holiday family treat ruined by getting home to find our drivethrough order wrong. Not the first time its happened either. Order short by one medium fries from a value meal so out of pocket. Funny old thing- no receipt given so...

For some reason the fries at this McDonalds are always soggy and barely warm. Totally indelible. After the last four visits with cold fries, I will not be going there again.

Went to McDonald’s around midnight, was asked to wait 10 minutes because something was down which was fine. Then went through the drive through 10 mins later and waited 15 minutes for our food. So we drive away, and then realised they’d forgotten a part of the order. Went back. Got our cheese bites. Drove away again, ate a chip and WOW. It was literally rock solid and cold. So tried another and it was so horrible. I can deal with cold fries, I’m not fussy. But they weren’t edible. So drove back 10 mins. The guy just stood there and looked at me blankly when I explained. They then said they’d give me new ones but it would be a wait. Waited another 10 minutes and to be honest they weren’t very apologetic and didn’t even offer me a free drink or something. There was no communication between them and they kept getting orders wrong. Just unacceptable.

I havent had a hot meal from here to date. Food is always cold. Avoid it now if at all possible. The cheese in the cheeseburger doesn't even melt.

So I went to Dereham after picking up my friends from a night out at about 2:30am and it was dead, not busy at all! I was disgraced by the amount of mess and rubbish left on tables and food on the floor. We ordered some food and used the toilets (which was also disgusting) meanwhile we waited at least 15mins for our food to arrive bare in mind we only ordered 4 99p cheeseburgers and 2 drinks! The cheeseburgers were cold and the drinks wasn’t even full! Will NOT be returning to this store again! If you can’t keep it clean of a non busy period I’d hate to think what the store is like of a day time! :(

You tend to visit fast food restaurants and not remember the service or the food.

Not much to say; standard McDo fare but served quickly, accurately & with a smile. The filet of fish is to be avoided, best to stick to the red meats. Will return as the location is handy with easy parking.

Not too bad but Thetford branch seems nicer and the food is always hotter. Then it is a chain restaurant so would expect consistency but that does not always follow with Macdonalds.

What you see is what you get with McDonalds - fair food for fair price in clean establishments, Good value

This must be one of the best MacD's in the country. Spotlessly clean, friendly, table service if requested. My Big Mac was super, and served very promptly. Will be back.

I live in dereham so have been here a few times. Not that bad but not the best I’ve ever been too! Today had to wait 15 minutes for food ordered at the drive thru. We got back from holiday yesterday so got breakfast for us all this morning as nothing In the house. When I asked why it had taken so long apparently it was the porridge oats for the girls as they have to do them fresh every time. I do oats at home all the time for them and it never takes that long.

We like to have a MaccyD's now and then. So glad to see we can now get one in Dereham rather than having to make a diversion to Longwater (Costessey, Norwich)

I have been there few times and notice that managers don't wear a hats even when helps in kitchen on fryers and etc.....very souprise as both girls have very messy hair style.

Really enjoyed coming here, love their Big Macs and ice cream is to die for. Will certainly be coming back.

In many ways a McDonalds is a McDonalds. That most certainly holds for the food. So, the score of 5 is not for the food. What I like about this McDonalds is the interior as well as the quality of service. The order is taken accurately with advice given. The food is relatively quick and delivered to your table. The staff is extremely friendly. If you decide on a fast-food burger place, the McDonalds in Dereham is certainly worth going to.

You know what you get with McDonald's so it comes down to staff and service and unfortunately Dereham doesn't fare well. Slow, food not brilliant so maybe head to Norwich.

A good mac's clean tidy,good sevice,small kids play area outside.Quite busy inside and in the drive thru,popular is always a good sign.

I quite like a McDonald's breakfast every now and again and was chuffed when they opened in Dereham so I didn't have to drive to Norwich or Swaffham any more to get one. Well I thought i didn't anyway. Eaten breakfast from the drive through here twice, both times I was there early at around 5.30-6am and both times, despite being one of only two or three customers I had to wait for a long time to get the food, like 10 minutes, then rushed home to eat it (5mins away) and opened the bag to find the contents were cold. This happened twice so I won't be going there again, off to Swaffham or Norwich for me both of which seem to have been ok in the past. God only knows how they cope here when things actually get busy. Maybe they need some more mature staff who actually care

My companion and I were travelling through Dereham and stopped at the local McDonalds. Our Niece was with us during the week so this was our second visit to a Maccas - (the previous in Norwich). Must admit first time this year. This Dereham restaurant was amazing in its cleanliness - tables cleared immediately by lovely happy smiling staff - service great and although very busy - peaceful - all customers happily enjoying their meals , as we were. A credit to the manager who obviously knows how to find the right staff and train them and keep his establishment with pride

Went for breakfast at 7 am and we were the only customers in there. However, the self service kiosks weren't working at all and we waited quite some time before anyone came to serve us. A couple of staff saw us waiting but ignored us!

A quick polite service when ordering my meal, the food was pretty standard not the best MD I've had but not the worst, I am supprised how much variation there can be on a standard product line.

I appreciate this is a fast food chain but being given a burger that looked like it was assembled 20 feet from the burger assembly technician, then thrown at a wall. It was stone cold. I opened it just as I had got out of the car park on the way to the A47. No chance to take take it back.

We used the drive through, very quick from ordering to pickup, to paying. I was impressed with the service.

Went in Sunday morning ordered a double sausage muffin with a free coffee from a coupon, staff there got funny about giving the coffee and got a manager who was just as snotty, avoid like the plaque

Admittedly I'm a Maccy D's junkie and I have tried many all over the country. This one is very disappointing and by far the worst which is annoying when its your local. I avoid ordering from there if I can and only as a last resort if it comes to it. Nearly every drive thru order I have made has been wrong. You wait for ages, they can't hear you over the tannoy and the get your order wrong. They either miss something off or give you less than what you ordered. They scrimp on fries giving you a half filled portion, they give you sloppy burgers that have been thrown together (I always get a cheese quarter pounder) and they rarely fill a large strawberry and lemonade to the top - you have to ask them to do so! Its poor service and the food is often cool instead of warm or piping hot. Whenever my family members go there they have the same problems. If you do decide to use it, check your bag after ordering! Or avoid all-together and use Swaffham or Norwich, they're always spot on.

I visited the drive-thru and ordered a meal and a side and the whole process was quick, easy and pleasant. I had my baby in the car and as she was asleep I decided to park up and eat my food, rather than driving and eating (big no-no) or sitting in the restaurant. The car park was full so I had to park in the pub next door. The food I ordered was very nice, and also correct, but the fries were Luke warm which really was a let down (I always eat these first - they did not have the chance to cool down whilst I was eating my other food). However, it served it's purpose, was satisfying (apart from the fries), and it was fine overall.

We have noticed that they seem to be putting more salt on the chip, last time we went in there my daughter couldn't eat all her chips as they were over salty

This McDonald's is the worst restaurant I could have possibly been to not only did my large Fanta was half empty but it taste like stale water but had the orange colour of a Fanta.. Also my big Mac had no burger but extra bun now this isn't the first time it's happened. The other day I bought a big Mac and it had one burger and no source. The service there is so rude as it's run by a bunch of teenagers at that have no respect. Sick and tired of this stupid restaurant.

Standard McDonald's food although to be honest if I fancy it I go to Swaffham or Norwich still as this particular one is anyways cold and don't even fill up the fries I brought large before and didn't even go half way up Plus always limp and soggy.

I ordered my food using the in-store self service machines. These were easy to use and saved the hassle of having to queue at the tills. This however is the only positive part of this review. The wait for the food was really long. I waited just under 10 minutes for some very simple breakfast items. I watched what was happening behind the counter and the lady packing the bags for the drive-thru customers was basically taking the items as they came through quicker than the lady who was trying to fulfill the in-store orders. Eventually I think they realised they had a backlog of in-store customers and we eventually got served. The food was bland and put together in such a rush that the minute I undid the wrapping the whole thing fell apart. My coffee had obviously been poured when I'd ordered but was only luke warm by the time I got the food. This isn't the first time I've had such a long wait here for my order and this was the last time I will visit. I've complained to the management before and it fell on deaf ears. They need to pull their socks up and sort it out as I know I'm not the only disgruntled customer.

At the risk of sounding like a stuck record.....check your order when using the drive through. See the latest picture. That was supposedly a medium fries straight out of the bag.

Can't comment on the restaurant as we haven't used it yet. However we've used the drive thru three times. First time got home and found the order wrong, second time one drink was two thirds ice, third time one drink was brown fizzy water. I suppose the semi literate teenage half wits they employ think its funny.

Ok, new build, very clean and modern. Same high cal depressing fare. Only went as my granddaughter considers it a treat, won't go back unless forced to.

Sometimes the grub is good, a lot of the time it's cold, looks horrendous, and the service isn't great, being asked what you ordered at each window isn't good. Majority of the problem is the amount of young staff, don't have a clue. Whoops.

We recently took the grandkids to Dereham's McDonald's and found it clean, new and modern. The dining area is set up well, and has a selection of standard tables, "coffee bar" style high seats, and a section that is techno cafe style. The fare remains the usual micky-d stuff, and service was okay for fast food. The outlet does have the annoying "make the customer do it for themself" self service order terminals, but their was still a little human interaction at the counter.

My wife and myself took our young Grandson here for his regular Cheeseburger and Chips, and he just loves McDonalds everywhere he goes, and he is only two years old. Well done McDonalds again.

I ordered my food and I showed them my student badge and got a Cheeseburger and was charged for it when not supposed to and when I asked about it I was told they couldn't do anything about it

Great mac donalds food, as expected, customer service was great! My 4 year old dropped her milkshake, as I was telling her she couldn't have another one, one of the staff said, oh dear, accidents happen, I will get her another one... how nice is that!! Out of 4 mcds one was nice n warm, hot choc I could drink like squash =nearly cold . The set out is all wrong as only one till n u all get hudlled up near the sauce etc where people are trying to get to. Would of been a lot better like Norwich Mcds.Staff are polite.

This is a brand new mcdonalds that has opened in dereham. They have do it yourself ordering screens which are great as you can view the entire menu (I didn't know McDonald's did so much). The place is very clean and they even have tablets for the kids to play with. Staff are very friendly and will often offer to bring you your food if you are eating in. However as this is a new McDonald's it can take a little while to get your food prepared. Not much of a problem if you are eating in but can be a pain if using the drive through.

Very nice new restaurant, quick auto ordering. Avoid 15:30-16:30 as the schools empty out its gets overrun!!!!
