Express Fish Bar in Breckland

Nice place, I've been here quite a few times over the years and it's rarely changed. Updated review: Went last night for a doner kebab, service was quick and friendly as usual. The food was again very delicious and portion sizes are good for what you pay. However I must stress that every time I eat here I'm sure I get food poisoning less than a day after, though I've never had this from anything on their menu except the kebabs. I'm not sure if it's their food or hygiene but it's not very nice lol

Pricey but nice. Convenient location, if it was further away I'm not sure I'd travel to get it.

They loaded our plate with chips and put the right amount of salt and they were kinda enough to give us extra would recommend:D

I live in the area and most of the places are abit too overrated, my fiance recommended we try this place as she used to go there with her father when she was younger and remembered how amazing it was. I ordered battered sausages and chips and curry sauce and was one of the most satisfying things I've had in the last year, the curry sauce was gooey which was perfect. Overall amazing place 5/5 bananas my homies 🤙

Called in on the off chance and I must say it's one of the best I have had. The Donner meat and chips I received was perfect. Tasty fresh salad, perfectly cooked meat and chips. Would call again if I'm in the area.

Fish was thinly cut heavily covered in batter to give a good impression of a big piece of fish an old trick certainly not fresh grey colour. Chips consisted of a lot of end bits potatoes poor quality.

Had cod and chips the fish being the worse I’ve ever had , thinly cut ,grey coloured, covered in over cooked batter, not fit for consumption an absolute disgrace.

Good grub if you want a heart attack at an early age 🥳

Really fancied kebab meat and chips for the family. We ordered the 2x trays of meat plus 2 chips at 17.40. Was told please give us 20 minutes as very busy. I got there at 18.05 and was told just waiting for chips, take a seat. I watched people come in order and collect their food. About 20 customers later I asked if mine was ready yet? They told me just waiting for kebab meat? I said they had to be kidding as I had seen loads of chips and kebabs sold. The owner told me I should have ordered as they were busy in front of all the other customers.... I replied I did order at 17.40 which the man taking the calls said I had. He then grunted at me, started cutting kebab meat scraping it in to trays Left there at 18.50. Kebab meat wasn't cooked and tray sat in fat. Ended up withe lovely chips for my £15 Would not use again as made to feel like a prat £10 of kebab in the bin.

Been a few times now since moving to watton. The chicken kebab is gorgeous, nicely cooked chicken and the right ratio of fresh salad and chilli sauce. Chips are always fresh and exactly how we like them. Staff members are friendly and very well organised, so food is served quickly and always with a smile.

I have a mother with a server fish allergy this is the only place i trust not to cross contaminate. Chicken kebabs freshly grilled. Vegetarian chips no beef dripping used. I myself am partial to fish so when shes away i get the cod...... lovely huge piece for a small cod, prices very reasonable and staff friendly. This is and always will be my go to.

Cod was found mostly of batter and of old and grey . Chips were warm at best . I gave the Express fish n chip soup a second chance unfortunately a big disappointment.

Normally always good and service, although there is a slight language barrier, still try there best and are exceptional. Only drawback is night time, food is a little cold.

Have been there twice. Once for curry roll and chips, and once or chicken kebab and chips. Very good, the chips are very nice, and very good portions. Not tried the fish yet. I would recommend this establishment to anyone. A good variation of food provided.

Wow! Very pleasant surprise! Just moved here from Norwich and was looking for some take away. Was not expecting a lot in a small town, especially cause I am extremely picky when it comes to food, but this place is just excellent! Very delicious food, good portions and polite staff. 5 stars!

Excellent food. Their burgers are absolutely amazing! Generous portions and the staff are very friendly. I would highly recommend the Express Fish Bar

nearly every time I go into this fish bar, and I am a local, the food has been sat around for a long time under the heat light and as a result the food is inedible because it is like concrete. Even buying a portion of chips, you can throw half of them away, they do not clean what I call the scrap potato bits either. Food is cooked so far ahead of time that i'm pretty sure it is reused the next day once heated under the cabinet light. Why do I use it?, The other chip shop in the high street are worse and they never change their oil regularly enough. Now I ask for fresh cooked all the time I go in there but they will not do chips frresh if they have them already in the tray. Not recommended at all!!!!

I often grab a takeaway from here and the portion sizes are great and the staff are always so friendly and lovely. They have a selection of kebabs and burgers as well as fish and chips.

Moved into Watton a few months ago and tried Express Fish Bar last Friday. The amount of people in there told me that it must be good. And it was. Large cod was LARGE and a large portion of chips was enough for three/four people. Looking forward to go again soon if the wife lets me.

Fish & chip shop. Bought large cod and chips and boy it was large cod and chips. Very generous portion size. Very good quality. If I had to be critical, I would have to say the fish was rather saturated/oozing fat. Would go back for more.

Not a restaurant - it is a fish & chip shop selling a whole range of take-away foods. Their fish & chips are excellent - always fresh fish - good size portions at a reasonable price - very good quality and friendly helpful staff. Highly recommended - very popular.
