McDonald's in Derbyshire Dales

First the good part, the staff are lovely, especially the older man and woman who work there. They’re always really friendly. However, the food is always cold, we usually have to wait ages, we have a large family and expect to wait a bit but it’s ridiculous here. The burgers always look like they’ve been thrown together from across a room. The milkshakes have too much flavouring in and are kind of unbearable to drink and the hot chocolate is so watered down it’s just brown water.We’d rather drive to Ripley than visit this McDonald’s, I don’t know how they can get it so wrong.

It’s not hard to get a breakfast right. When you repeat the order three times still get it wrong go into the shop and still manage to get it wrong and COLD. I won’t be coming back.poor service

Unfortunately we never get a good meal here. Food is always warmish and always tastes like it’s been repeated over and over. We keep giving it a chance but never any improvement. The reason for rating ‘terrible’ is due to our latest experience, ordered at one of the screens and then waited for the food. Must have waited 15-20 minutes despite being the only ones in the restaurant. Got order and started to leave when a girl shouted she had forgotten our Big Mac. When we got home we opened the bag to a complete mess, my triple cheese burger looked like it has been thrown at a wall, my boyfriends Big Mac was dry and had no cheese on it, fries were all in the bottom of the bag (no change there) and to top it all off... inside my 6x chicken nugget box was a LOAD of Gherkins!! How can you even get that wrong? The only thing nice about this place is the man who welcomes you at the door and tells you to drive safe as you’re leaving.

I don't know why I keep giving this place a chance. The food is usually luke warm, especially the fries. If you ask for a replacement they are not much better.Asked a hostess for some napkins as none were delivered with the meal and had to wait 10 minutes while she stood chatting with a colleague.On a positive note: Initially there was a young lady on the door who was very good and allocated a table with a number so we didn't have to stand around waiting.

With all the new procedures in place it felt very safe to eat in at this McDonald’s. Staff were regularly cleaning and wiping things down. All staff were friendly and helpful. Food served quickly and of the expected McDonald’s standard.

Absolutely appalling my daughter has had a parking fine issued for going through the drive through. The notice of fine has no contact point you have to appeal and wait in anxiety for 28 days. Even after providing evidence from her insurance company that her black box has registered her as being elsewhere they have turned down the appeal. So watch out everyone as clearly the cameras are not working properly and they are taking no responsibility to address this or correct it

Where do I start .... dirty.... rude staff and warm milkshake ...... cold food ... terrible .... I will NEVER return

Good for quick kids meals, but was really disappointed that they are giving away plastic toys. Our grandchildren took them home and instantly forgot about them. More plastic for landfill. Come on McDonalds surely it’s time to accept your responsibility towards the future

Currently battling with McDonald's parking company over an excess parking time charge that has escalated to a court threat and a £1,600 fine.Was in McDonalds for a couple of hours due to family meeting over a recently deceased relative. Did not realise there was a time limit for any stay.McDonalds do not seem to care and now the parking company are threatening legal action and trying to fine £1,600.

Food is poor as per usual with burgers looking like they have been thrown together and chips half filled. After getting over the disappointment of the mess in front of me, I was having to listen to a caretaker talk about how the council don’t do anything but sit around. Absolutely disgraceful!

We visited this McDonald's on the 1st September. We initially waiting 5 or 10 minutes for our friends to turn up, then we ordered and waited for our food. It was quite busy and the food took a while to arrive, which was absolutely fine. We enjoyed our meal, and the children wanted ice cream afterwards, so this was ordered and consumed. The kids then went to play on the tablets while the adults had coffee and muffins. After having a lovely time at this restaurant we left and carried on with our lives.....until yesterday we received a £100 parking fine in the post! I rang McDonald's and told them there must be some mistake, that we were in the restaurant the whole time we were parked. The manager told me that the parking signs are clearly marked with the time limit and that he wasn't prepared to help me.It really does sound like a scam, I genuinely can't believe McDonald's have stooped so low as to try and trick their customers out of money.Begrudgingly paid the ticket and will never return to this restaurant.

thanks so much to very helpful staff member Suzanne Hives for helping me today when i called in on my lunch break and felt a bit funny , dizzy etc, sat me down got my order for me and even a drink I didn't order and kept checking I was ok . Just low blood sugar I think ( must eat more lol) . I have been here before and always found it spotless , staff friendly, and if you don't like the straws just take the lid off and drink from the cup! Didnt know about the oarking cameras but surely 90 mins in a McDonald's is enough time for anyone! Loving the spicy veggie wrap, any chance you can do halloumi or breadcrumbed quorn ' chicken' too?

Made 2 visits to Mcdonalds, several hours apart, on 25/8/2019.For some reason the parking company sent me a parking charge ,claiming I made only 1 visit. The management at Mcdonalds were totally uninterested, seems they are happy for their customers to be hassled in this way.The company have 2 ANPR cameras (entry and exit), and small signs in the car park. Was concerned to see previous reviews where customers have paid the charge. Mcdonalds need to sort this out, they need to look after their customers.

As these places go, this one is as good as any. Burger, Chips and a shake or smoothie is what you get, and the kids do love it as a treat and the adults too! The place is kept nice and clean by the team, and is always a pleasure to visit, either for a burger or just a coffee and McFlurry.Well done to all concerned!!!

I came here with my family and it was the most dirty and disgusting McDonald’s I’ve ever been to and bare in mind I’ve been to lots of McDonald’s in my life seeing my two young child love the food (for some reason). We had to buy our meals via the electric screens (WHAT HAPPENED TO FACE TO FACE CUSTOMER SERVICE?) the meals were cold and awful but when we went to the counter the man said that he couldn’t refund our meals because he had ate a bit of the cold raw burger??? My daughter was served a full sugar coke when asked for a Diet Coke! Unbelievable

I'm all for saving the environment where we can but seriously these new paper straws are awful my whole family tip our drinks into other containers now which takes away the ease of it being fast food really and take away. I think there should be an option as not everybody can use these straws this is not just a preference but a sensory issue within autism. Just seems the most cheaply made they dont even last for your whole drink even if you did want to use them.

Expensive meal, when you get £50 parking charge. Meet clients there, so bring business in for them. This is the thanks you get. The manager said she was going to sort, then changed her mind and said there was nothing she could do.

Large car parking for 90 mins max as close to town. Modern seating. Clean. Polite staff. Good service. Seating in and out. Food good. Clean toilets.

At a recent get together we met at here for a party.The outcome was that two OAP one a disabled lady ended up with a £50 fine for overstaying their welcome.

Our meal was brought to our dirty table by a ride member of staff he didn't even speak or ask if we needed anything else,no napkins given had to ask as therr were none out. There wasn't a member of staff on the floor clearing up mess of wiping tables. Very disappointed

Called in a couple of times since opening. No issues with food, was hot and the site was clean. Staff also friendly.

Time and time again the staff are rude and ignorant. They are letting this restaurant down. Where are the managers at? Who are employing these people? What happened to people skills? By far the worst staffed McDonald’s I have been too!!!!

Often use the drive thru for coffee. Haven't had a bad one yet. Normally pretty quick. Staff seem very friendly

I really should know better, but I called in to this Macdonald's while shopping in Matlock.Half the tables were occupied and there was no waiting at the counter. Plenty of staff behind the counter and a couple serving, so they weren't short staffed.Our order was taken by a very pleasant young lady. My wife ordered a chicken wrap I wanted a cheeseburger and fries. One tea and one coffee completed the order. We opted for table service and sat down. Our food arrived very quickly. I picked up my burger and in felt barely warm in it's wrapper. One bite confirmed that, the meat was overcooked and chewy . cold and un-appetising. The fries were also stone cold and soggy. They were actually undercooked and inedible. I was really hungry so I took another bite of the cheeseburger which was by now completely cold. Bad move. I had to spit it out into my knapkin.I took the cheeseburger and fries back to the counter and was approached by a lady I presumed was in charge and pointed out that my meal was cold. To her credit she apologized profusely and said she would provide a replacement straight away and asked me to point out were we were seated. I did so then went back to my table and waited, and waited, and waited, after ten minutes my coffee was now cold, my wife had finished her meal and my patience was exhausted. I returned to the counter where the 'manager' was chatting with the kitchen staff. Noticing my approach a look of horror came to her face and she literally leapt to the french fries servery frantically trying to shovel fries into a container.. She had clearly forgotten all about my meal .I told her not to bother and requested a refund. She did so, apologizing profusely, she was good at that, apologizing. I'm sure she has to do a lot of it. Would I go back? Don't make me laugh.

Stopped here for a quick bite to eat before heading back south. food as good as any McDonalds I have visited but service from the girl was miserable - no manners

Visited here yesterday around 4.30, used the drive through.... told to find somewhere to park to wait for food as both the bays were occupied, waited, waited,waited then eventually a girl, blonde hair, glasses came to my car, she greeted me with “ere” so I asked her what she meant??? She then proceeded to give me the wrong order. 2nd person came to my car, again with the wrong order..... then asked what I’d ordered!!! 3rd time lucky, a young gentleman came with the correct food but no drinks!!!!! What an absolute joke this place is.... a lot of the staff are rude, food cold and soggy a lot of the time..... Sort it out McDonald’s.... I don’t expect to be greeted by rude staff, when I show manners and respect!!!!

Popped in for breakfast. Automated ordering was simple and straightforward. Food was served promptly and was enjoyable. Most importantly everywhere was spotlessly clean. Free parking and WiFi. The food is McDonald’s food - I like it. Good always been good. Thing is, it’s so slow. Not even the one time every time the wait is so much longer that any others.

Dreadful, cold soggy burgers and rude staff, never again. I live in Matlock and have used this place twice, both times were the same, avoid the place.

We visit here on a weekly basis. Service can be so slow inside and using the drive thru. Gradually over recent months we have seen improvements and orders are no longer coming out wrong. The portion sizes for the fries still remain on the small size.

Every time I go they get my order wrong. Multiple orders of breakfast pancakes with no sausage (that has been paid for). Been again this morning ordered two bagels and got shabby dried out muffins instead. There's only a couple member of staff that isn't rude. The only good thing I can say apart from the odd couple of happy staff members is that the foods always got.

Visited on Saturday, used the drive through, ordered food , the man on there was very friendly and again when I paid, same young man, friendly and polite.... but that’s it.... always the same when this particular woman is on the collection section, very abrupt, never looks happy to be there, lacks manners and customer service.... I actually think she’s in charge on the shift??? then to top it off, my

Great McDonald's in Matlock town. Staff are great and helpful. Food is always served quickly and any problems, the staff correct the order straight away. The only issue is the carpark is not the biggest.

It's well known in my family that I'm 'Donald's' biggest fan, but the staff in this one are among the pleaasantest and most helpful that I've come across.

Last 2 times used the drive through, I have been appalled by the rudeness of the staffs attitudes, the section where they hand you your food.... then to discover they had got the order wrong!!!! however, tonight 12th January at 4.30 pm, went inside and the 2 gentlemen who were out in the restaurant, clearing tables, sweeping etc could not have been anymore friendly or helpful.... 10/10 to them both and the young male who fetched out food, again very pleasant and helpful.... perhaps these are the 3 who should deal with the public as they are very kind and lovely, unlike the girl who was rude on the drive through... wish I’d got her name... it’s quite simple, if you can’t display manners and a nice attitude don’t work with the public!!!

We were visiting Matlock to see the raft race and stopped off at the McDonald's for an early breakfast. It was quite busy first thing but we used the self service order boards that are easy to use and the food is brought to your table.

Stopped off here for breakfast. This is a new McDonald's just outside the main shopping area in Matlock. There is plenty of parking and a drive thru. There is outdoor seating as well as indoor and everything looked fresh and clean. Ordered from the new style order boards and meal was delivered to the area we were seated in.
