Was the only car at the drive through order point…sat and waited and waited 10 minutes. Another vehicle arrived and our order was finally taken. Drove to the pay point, waited again…paid and moved to the collection window….waited another 10 mins (although we eventually got our drink - after we had been asked what we ordered) then we were told to go and park up as the food wasn’t ready. Another 10 minutes at least and our order was finally delivered (6 nugget meal, chicken mayo burger, one drink). Nearly half an hour - you could cook a meal from scratch for a family of four in that time…! Anyway gave it the benefit of the doubt and just went in for a couple of cups of tea a week later (eat in) not too long a wait but saw outside the same problem with people waiting long times in a really short drive through queue and having to park up to wait overly long for their food. However, on both occasions it’s been at the same time - the change over from breakfast to main menu…but they know it’s coming and there’s plenty of staff to prepare for the change… I.e put you fries in before 11am so they’re ready to go - not at 11am so everyone is waiting for them to cook. On a positive front, the separate online food order collection area is a good idea. Hopefully it’s manned by a dedicated staff so the walk ins and drive through aren’t pushed to the bottom of the queue.

Dear McDonald's, I recently visited your store located in Somercotes, Alfreton on 07/07/2024 at 3:45 pm. I'm disappointed to report that I had to wait nearly 20 minutes to pick up my order, even though it was already ready. When I approached one of the staff members to inquire about the delay, he responded in a rude manner, stating that he was busy and could not assist me. I then called the head office, but they were closed at the time. Upon returning to the store, I requested the name of the staff member, but he refused to provide it, as he did not have a name badge. I also asked the manager on duty, but they too declined to share their name. I expect a higher standard of customer service from a reputable establishment such as McDonald's. The lack of accountability and unwillingness to address my concerns is unacceptable. I would appreciate a prompt response addressing this issue and outlining the steps you will take to ensure that such incidents do not occur again in the future.

Once again, my chive dip has been forgotten with my meal. I ordered my meal via Uber Eats and not one dip that I ordered has come so I am very unsatisfied with my dry food!!!! Not only did I pay £1.40 for two chive dips (which is ridiculous in itself) my sweet curry sauce, that I selected, also was not in the bag! This has happened the last few times I’ve ordered from this McDonalds so not a happy customer.

Ordered food and half of it was missing including my burger!!! I’m absolutely fumin I called up and they hung up on me when I was explaining my distraught and agony to them! You probably think this is a fake review but I am seriously upset over my BURGER!!! Just want my food please! Even forgot the straw!

I ordered using table service and the lady called Ola bought my food out,she was ever so polite and handed our food out with a big smile.She also offered our little ones a colouring page with crayons.The food came very quickly too,very fresh fries not too salty and not under salted.

We visited earlier today. My 10year old niece left her backpack in the restaurant. We learnt this 30mins after the event, having returned home. I telephoned McDs. Call was answered quickly. I recalled we were sat at table 20. I went so far to tell the man the bag contained AirPods, small change and a £50 gift card (my nieces bday gifts). I kicked myself as soon as the words left my mouth…..Would YOU return this/ reveal you’d found the bag, considering the value of what you could aquire..? Anyway: The young man who took the call made me an immediate priority and went to check the restaurant whilst I was on the phone. He told me the bag was still at table 20. He agreed to keep it safe until I collected. Very pleasant and helpful indeed. I collected the bag 4hours after my call and to my surprise and delight, all contents in the bag were present and correct! I can’t even begin to tell you the importance of this bag and possessions being returned to my niece. I would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff at McDs Somercotes. Thank you for your honesty, sincerity and integrity. I would also like to thank the floor staff. They delivered my food order to the table, everything hot and correct. They inflated balloons at the request of the 4 children in my company and provided them with a colouring sheet and crayons. We received exceptional service today and we are very pleased indeed with our dining experience.

I have lost count how many times our drive through order is wrong. We usually check before driving away but this time trusted it would be right. It wasn’t. Bag ripped to be told “just be careful” No straws for drinks. Quarter pounder with no cheese as allergic to find it with cheese. Luckily we live locally so can return it. Not the point. The ease of fast food occasionally has turned into a nightmare. We will not be using this local service again. Cannot get through on the phone line as always engaged. Will be complaining to head office as this has become the norm with other family members. I rarely complain but this service has become a joke

Waited 10 minutes for "freshly cooked food" drove home (5 minutes from restaurant) only to find cold inedible fries and a cold, burnt quarter pounder. Not impressed 🤬

Was made to feel very uneasy, by a very unhelpful worker. Was reminded about the dangers of not wearing a face mask, but then she didn’t follow the correct social distancing procedures. Became rude and told we may have to leave our table as it was set out for a bigger family. Sometimes it’s just easier not to say anything..

Me and my friends was quite unhappy with our visit, as firstly we ordered a large fries, medium fries and sweet&sour sauce, well we got a small fries with a large fries, but instead of sweet&sour sauce but we instead got sour cream. My friend complained about this mishap and said to the worker that we had got the wrong order, but when she branch the stuff she brought curry sauce for the second time! Also whilst we was there we encountered a bug crawl out of my friends chips, as you know McDonald’s is a restaurant and a food place so it should not have bugs and insects inside, i understand you have automatic doors but it’s still not acceptable. We went and told the worker again and she said “sorry honey, but I can’t do anything about that, what do you expect me to do, we have bees and all sorts of things come in” I’m not being for or anything but if your a fast food restaurant you don’t really have bugs entering your premises. It’s quite upsetting it ended up like this as it has put all 3 of us off from going there again from our disturbing and disgusting visit.

Just been here on to ofAlfreton hill as you go into somercotes this area is developing fast Easy access and parking served fast and delivered to table .grandson used the PlayStation as usual Food hot and tasty as usual Nice staff

Terrible, went to get a crispy chicken wrap meal, waited for 16 minutes in the parking area for my food to be brought out, it never happened so I went inside asking for a refund. A 5 star McDonald general then came out apologising with the food, said they lost my receipt. She did offer me a free desert and did apologise but it’s not really the point. Sitting waiting while cars are heading straight in and out of the drive through and I have a 30 minute diner isn’t cool. Had to give a 1 star review.

Premises were dirty, the staff were rude (if the girl behind the counter went any slower she would stop, apathetic and lazy) The food was slow. 20 mins for a single hamburger? Staff were too focused on the delivery drivers and drive through. Priority should go to the people that have actually got off their arse and walked. Not only that the burger had fell apart. Worst McDonald's I've ever been in. Go to KFC or Subway round the corner.

As always the food is excellent and the staff are friendly. Definitely our favourite chippy, portion sizes are great and the food is top quality. We won't go anywhere else and it isn't the nearest chippy to us but worth the journey
