McDonald's in Southend-on-Sea

Everything in life is relative and as MccyDs go, Southend isn't too bad. If go to YT and look at some of the nut jobs and army of security frequenting Brick Lane McDs, top of the high street Southend-on-Sea, is the Ritz. The food is OK. You know what you are getting. The prices aren't outrageous and it's OK for a pit stop. They do table service now, which is a big plus. During the day it's OK. Haven't been on a Friday or Saturday night and I doubt I will. Great for people watching if you are so inclined. Lots of Gammons and 'Patriots' swearing at their young children. Makes ya proud to be British...

Food was ok but you know your in a dodgy area when the McDonald's have blue lights installed in toilets as a security measure to stop intravenous drug use!

I popped in for dinner on my way home. I had a Spicy Veggie wrap meal, and it was nice. Standard McDonald's.

My food was put over by delivery and when they realised (after prompting) the gave me it ... cold

When it's busy you gotta wait but when it's not busy then service is impeccable!!!

Staff are really nice, and efficient they have to deal with a lot in this busy and boisterous location - ordering on the app and table service were excellent, as my guest and I were unable to stand in a queue due to medical conditions. Food was hot and delicious.

COMPLETE JOKE Ordered through the app twice now and both times there has been mains missing!! How is it even possible?? BOTH MAINS missing from my last order, no sauces and stone cold. Avoid ordering from this McDonald's.

Went in there couple of days ago. Firstly was very dirty and loud. The manager was just sitting around talking to customers even though the store was dirty and was busy. I had to wait nearly 30 minutes for my food as some staff decided to talk to eachother instead of working. The foods good but won’t be going in there again.

Food was good. Service was bad, at least a 30 minute wait time on the 20/09/2024 at 15:20, staff were not friendly, there was only one person cleaning the front and she was working really hard changing bins etc. a manager was talking to two women with buggies because they knew each other (they was talking loud enough about the personal lives). The whole wait time he was chatting and the cleaning was having to go around him the times she had to change the bin. Understandable when it’s busy BOH staff cannot help wait times due to high demand but the managers just chit chat for ages and don’t care what’s happening.

Slowest McDonald's I've ever experienced. Worse than the one in Scotland.

Closed 5 minutes earlier today. I just wanted a burger! 🤔😪

Gross! I felt dirty as soon as I walked in, I went to the toilet first, which was dirty and stunk of urine. Waited ages for food at a sticky table and when it arrived, it was cold and stale, oh and I also had no idea you need a table number before you order on the screens but luckily we had children already sat upstairs but I had to run up and ask them which wasn't ideal. Never again!!

This McDonald’s is a bit of a mixed one for me when the upstairs is open it’s great. Loads of space and room to sit. When it’s shut it’s a nightmare. Packed with very few places to sit.

I order food from this branch and not sure why but they never put any sauce into the bag, not even the ones I pay for. Unacceptable.

The chips weren’t edible absolute disgusting chips had no salt ordered 3 chicken nuggets and only received 2.

Staff are kind. Wi-Fi isn't working and tablets removed... Chocolate milkshake tastes like a banana one (guess they use the same flavouring) and burger patty is too dry and not juicy.

Chips were dry and tasted undercooked, had a belly ache for days after. So did my 3 year old. Milkshake tasted like toxic waste as the syrup levels were super high. It wasn’t fit for consumption. Won’t return to this branch. Yuck

Staff were friendly and hard working, but there was a horrible damp smell coming from the cleaning cloth's that they were using

Clean and fast service, felt safe with the security team at the door (summer holidays so trouble is increased as expected)

just ordered one shake shake and Coke take away, and they didn't even pack it. Just it was so cold and hangover to me, and moreover, nobody was on till.. I had to wait 15 minutes, just To give them order. Ridiculous and hilarious.

Fries weren't cooked practically raw disgusting. Ordered 2 meals and only received one pack of fries. Although they were inedible. Not the first time had items missing from order. Very poor for a big chain restaurant, this branch should be closed 😡

Girl Serving was perfectly lovely bright and charming. The Breakfast Food was Luke warm when unwrapped and for the first time EVER the Hash Browns were greasy and soggy. So actually really Naff grub and most disappointing

Children throughout on other people and worst maintains and support under 18 and that is the main problem with management and thank To manager sein. But he did not respond to us

I think the staff missed the point of fast food. 20 minutes wait while the staff seem to actually care to do their jobs.

The food was good, shame the quality of cleanliness throughout the store was NOT up to standard. As I went to take a seat, I saw this hair CLUMP on the table. This is disgraceful.

I have ordered food for my entire family tell me how they remember 7 sauces of different kinds 3 wraps and forget my burger in my burger meal and only gave me fries and drink .

Ordered food from here, came in absolutely busting to go to the toilet and was told by Amir i was not aloud to go as they were ‘under maintenance’ as well as the toilet downstairs apparently which was just locked. He then told me to go across the road and follow the signs to go to the toilet. it was 9:30 AM and the upstairs area should have been open and toilets should have most definitely been accessible by this time. This is absolutely disgusting and taking away basic human rights.

For fast food, I (along with around 20 others), were waiting 25 minutes (25 minutes!!!!!) For their order with no explanation or apology. Food came out resembling nothing like the picture and really made my confirmation that other food outlets are better priced and better service

I ordered a large meal with extra hash brown and they gave me a medium coke and forgot my hash brown this isn't the first time I have ordered and they have forgot things of my order

Absolute joke!! Ordered food for my family and I tonight. Order was over 50 minutes late. And I specifically said “NO ICE” as we are all recovering from an infection and guess what? There’s ICE in every drink. Tried to call the restaurant and the line is constantly busy for the past 15 minutes so clearly the phone line is either not working or been purposely put in a state where it doesn’t ring. What sort of illiterate morons are you hiring for them to not be able to understand NO ICE? Also amazed at how a busy restaurant which took 50 minutes to send out my order can send out ice cold food?

The bag the food was in was wet and torn and the box with the food is an absolute mess not only was there a big delay but the food is freezing cold and come looking like this. Not happy and had to be binned 🤮

The food was served fast and it was hot! It's rare I get a hot McPlant meal from London branches! I found the whole place refreshing in customer service. I remember from years ago this same restaurant were excellent with kids parties and the full scale pirate ship upstairs! Still a great place!

My burger within 1 minute if it being served the burger was drive cold my chips were nice and hot but if I wanted a cold burger I’d buy a rustlers

Made a visit to this McDonald’s today 16th September order 4 apple pies after 10 minutes wait they arrived cold . When I asked if I can have hot ones I was told by shift manger “they are fresh ( what out of freezer) and don’t care if they cold “ as you can imagine I was shocked by her response . I also asked where the food hygiene label was that she still did care . Totally shocking service and of course no contact details for the company that own the restaurant yes the pies went straight in the Bin😡😡😡

Macdonalds has got so much better,went in for breakfast after a meeting & I was pleasantly surprised...place your order,sit down & the friendly staff bring food to your table!! Also a lot more healthy options on offer..Well Done

Absolutely disgusted with the service at this McDonald's after an evening at Peter pans with my children we decided to stop and get a bite to eat to then be handed my food and told I had ten minutes to eat as they close then security walking round pestering my children asking I'd they finished ! How bout tell me when ordering we can't order as your closing no yould rather take money and kick people out with there food

Used order screen, Dble cheese burger & coffee latte Hit the food/caffine cravings before train journey. Not too busy/few mins wait for order. Nice team member kept table areas clean & was chatty/helpful to guests.

This Location has a play area, perfect for the littles on a rainy day! Restaurant is clean, staff is friendly. I always order in the app for easy pickup! This location is BUSY, have some patience, plan accordingly if your on a lunch break, And Remember, they Love to see you 😁

Although the food is decent quality and the expected for a McDonalds, the cleanliness of the restaurant itself is lacking. It always feels a bit dirty and the tables feel sticky etc. Ordering screens are sometimes out of order as well resulting in huge queues.

Very disappointed for something that's so expensive for what it is and it's such a poor service don't waste your money or even so your time the chicken nuggets tasted a day old the fries were freezing and tasted reheated the milkshake which was 2 pound alone was vile wasn't stirred properly I remember a time when a drink came with a meal the burger was the nicest thing but for the price of 25 quid for 4 cold burgers 2 chips and 20 chicken nuggets wasn't on my agenda not to mention it took ages getting served the staff are rude and stand around doing nothing while the so called restaurant gets busy just for people like me to waste there money expecting a hot nice meal but instead you get cold meat day old chips and flavourless nuggets it is an outrage that this business is still open it deserves to but shut down all over the world just like Argos it's what happens when company's or restaurants dont live up to there own reputation they get shut down so why is this so called food shop still standing close it forever

Stuck for.a late lunch and thought we would give it a go. Grabbed a seat upstairs and ordered via the app to our table number. Food arrived in the dumb waiter and was bought to our table by a very pleasant lady. Food was hot, tasty and did the job! Had a small issue with payment via the app so had to go downstairs to pay at the counter but other than that it was the best McDonald's meal I've had this year.
