I ordered okhra bhaji and chapati. Okhra bhaji was a bit of mix of stale and under cooked. All waste of money

A quiet Thursday evening, thoroughly enjoyed it. Lamb chops and samosas for starters followed by 1 meat, 2 veg, 1 rice and roti, good size portions and the sag paneer had a flavour I've never had before which was absolutely delicious. Good service fom Okni and others. Thanks.

We went to The Sultan as a family for the first time last night. It is nicely decorated inside and very clean. All staff were attentive, polite and helpful. Food was lovely. Particularly the butter chicken and saag aloo. My daughter had tandoori chicken and she said it was the best, juiciest tandoori chicken she has ever had. They give you 4 smaller pieces as opposed to 2 large ones so there was more meat and didn't dry out like the larger pieces can. We all said we would happily eat there again.

I recently dined at The Sultan in Hemel Hempstead, and it was a delightful experience. The cozy ambience and attentive staff, especially our waiter Rij, made the evening special. Must-Try Dish: The chicken tikka dansak was a standout—tender chicken in a perfectly spiced lentil curry. Hidden Gem: The Sultan deserves more recognition. Don’t miss their Sunday and Tuesday banquets!

I visited this restaurant with my family and neighbour on 3rd July 2024. We highly recommend it since It is an Indian restaurant with attentive service and a stylish interior. Most important of all, they serve high-standard food. We enjoyed their Butter Chicken, Onion Bhaji and Saag Paneer a lot.

Had a great meal at the Sultan tonight, it was my birthday so decided to order my food by my date of birth. (26.06.69) starters of tandoori lamb chops (06) mains monk fish in green masalla (26) but when I looked at 69 on the menu it was chips. I couldnt bring myself to order chips so had a delicious Peshwari naan, mushroom rice and aloo gobi. Amazingly when we finished the bill came to £69 so mission accomplished. My husband and I had a fantastic experience at The Sutan Indian restaurant in Hemel Hempstead town center on Saturday night 15th June 2024. The staff were so welcoming and attentive the food was amazing!! They had a live fire show on that evening which was spectacular. They also have live music regularly. The decore is beautiful, warm and welcoming. The food was delicious. And we indulged. We started with a plate of poppadoms and dips which were so crisp and fresh. The dips were so tasty I asked if we could keep them to have with our starters. We then decided to share two starters between us the lamb samosa's, lovely ,fresh and full of flavour. And the onion bhjai's which were so crispy and delicious. Perfect dishes to share as there are two per portion. I ordered the Butter chicken for my main and it did not disappoint it was beautifuly cooked, the chicken was tender and full of flavour- cooked in the tandoori oven and nice big pieces of chicken, the sauce was rich and creamy without being greasy or heavy it had a hint of heat which was perfect. My husband had the lamb shank which was one of the Saltun specialities and it looked amazing, slow-cooked and perfectly tender in a rich masala sauce the dish includes your choice of rice on the side, very good value for money. I would highly recommend this restaurant. We are looking forward to visiting again soon. They also deliver and offer takeaway.

Visited the Sultan shortly after it had opened, following an extensive refurbishment of the previous Mazza premises. The interior is very stylish and creates a good atmosphere. Food was excellent with friendly, attentive service. Will definitely return 👍

After the Mazza closing it’s been hard to find a decent Indian, now it’s open again but now called the sultan I had high hopes . We ordered food for delivery and or though the food was nice it still wasn’t as good as the Mazza was , the Mazza felt fresh and had tomato and coriander on takeaway food and the rice wasn’t all that and all in all it was average food BUT it’s still brilliant on price which is always a good thing.

I visited this restaurant with my sister and friend on June 15th, and it was an incredible experience. The food was absolutely amazing, with rich flavors and exquisite presentation. The service was outstanding, attentive, and friendly, making us feel truly welcomed. The highlight was the Fire Show, which was superb and something I didn't expect to find outside of London. The ambiance of the restaurant is stunning, with beautiful decor that adds to the overall experience. This will definitely be my top choice from now on. We had the best time and can't wait to return.

Booked a birthday dinner 2. Weeks ago for today. Party of 9, turned up for our 7pm booking just now and there is a sign on the door "closed for refurbishments". Not received a single call or email to tell us so we are outside in the pouring rain, 9 of us! Some of which travelled from London for this disappointment. Sad thing is, we love the food and service at mazzas. But this is ridiculous. Zero stars for todays experience.

I visited this restaurant after being a regular guest for takeout to dine in with my family. The manager kindly asked us to Leave because we asked for a corner seat for my autistic son to be comfortable. My son hadn’t said anything or acted inappropriately once but when we mentioned that he had autism we were told that we weren’t welcome to sit in only to have a takeout. Never in my life have I heard anyone treat someone with special needs so herendously. I would never be going back again

Explosion of flavour Well where do I begin…what an amazing family experience we had at MAZZA! If you want those old school traditional flavours then this is the place be! What a gem! The ambience is perfect. Family run….the staff are so welcoming and attentive. Their recommendations are spot on and the restaurant itself is spotless! The menu is impressive it has something for everyone! The fact that this Indian restaurant have created their own vegan dishes says a lot for the time and effort put in by the chefs which not all Indian restaurants offer. We had a mix starter including tandoori lamb chops, meat samosas, tandoori chicken…the meat was so succulent. For me the standout was the mushroom bhaji wow this buttery dish just melted in my mouth! The lamb Naga was perfect… spicy but not overpowering you are still able to taste the fusion of spices. We had both chicken and king prawn biryani with the vegetable curry the kids particularly commented on how tasty these were. But for me the best of all was the lamb shank….I have never tasted anything like it! The meat just fell off the bone so succulent, the sauce was authentic and delicious. 10/10 experience Compliments to the chef and everyone who works at MAZZA! We will be returning…highly recommended!

Really lovely place for dinner. I came last night with family and the staff were very hospitable and friendly. The food was delicious and there was lots of options to choose from. My favourite was the lamb shank with the garlic Naan and the vegan dishes were flavoursome too. I definitely recommend and will be visiting again soon.

Always an excellent meal at the Mazza. Really enjoyed the show with Elvis Shmelvis too.

So so disappointed. Not been since a friend had chewing gum in his meal. Starters- pram puree, frozen prawns hard and chewy. Crab fish cakes were tiny and had so much spice you couldn't find the crab. A friend ordered lamb shank. Twice we told the waiter what he wanted but he got lamb sag. I had lamb chops and they were so chewy I couldn't eat them. My takka Dahl was sloppy and watery. I won't be bothering again.

They have this strange rule you have to spend minimum 13 GBP per person even if you want to have to have have a light meal. Food was OK and staffs were very friendly. I can see owner’s reply about sharing main course with 3/4 people. What’s wrong with it if someone want to have light meal. I had been to better restaurants than this Bangladeshi restaurant claims to be Indian and nowhere this stupid rule is there.

What can I say, Mazza never lets us down! From the service, to the ambience to the food. The staff are some of the friendliest and most helpful you'll find anywhere. This place has the worst quality Indian food in hemel. I went to this restaurant with my family and we ordered royal chicken and egg rice both of them did not taste good at all. It missed all the spices and it missed the most important spice for Indians (salt).however the main problem with this restaurant was that each customer had to pay atleast 12.95 pounds minimum and the waiters were continuously reminding us that we had to pay 13 pounds per person even when we did not finish our meal and one waiter was continuously staring at us and not respecting our privacy. Even though I personally did not have a nice experience some of the workers were good. However I would not recommend anyone to have a meal in this restaurant

A friend and I from the U.S. dined at Mazza Restaurant when we were in town, and we are so glad we did. The food was absolutely delicious—best Indian food I’ve ever eaten. The vegan tikka salad was particularly good, but that’s especially high praise given how good every bite of our meal was. If I’m ever back in the Hemel Hempstead area, I’ll be back, and I recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a wonderful meal.

Went to Mazza on Saturday evening for a family meal. Blown away by the extensive (separate!) vegan section on the menu, as my partner and I have never found an Indian restaurant that has an exclusive vegan section on the menu, usually we have to speak to staff at places who let us know what they can make vegan / adjust for us. So, we were blown away by the choice. On top of this, the service was proactive and accomodating, they suggested a vegan sharing platter, which was a mix of all the vegan starters and it was divine. As for the main courses, they were, as always, utterly delicious! The vegan chicken is top tier and I've sampled all the curries from the vegan section before from takeaways and they do not disappoint. Really friendly and speedy service and they were super accommodating with our little one who joined us ☺️ cannot recommend enough. Best Indian food in Hemel and a must go for vegans!

Came with a large group of friends (approx 10 adults and 6kids) they had a nice long table set up for us, but the portions were waaaay too small for what they were charging. We ordered a few mixed grills for the table along with a few curries and a few naans, bowls of chips and rices... Expecting to share with eachother but the portions were waaaay too tiny. Food was mediocre, nothing to write home about. The service was ok, they did come and asks if we needed anything but if you're going with a group of people I wouldn't recommend it, or maybe pick a dish each but that will also end up being quite costly for what you get.

I visited this restaurant on Mothers Day this year for the second time since it’s opening. Nothing has improved since my first visit. Not only was the food disappointing (over heated/cooked) but the service was terrible. The waiters were extremely rude, chucking cutlery on the table as if they couldn’t be bothered. Complicating the bill payment and too lazy to calculate themselves which could be due to illiteracy, & then staring at us upon our exit because this waiter clearly had nothing else to do. As an Asian & a Muslim, with Hemel being my hometown and a common guest at various Indian Restaurants, this restaurant provided the worst experience by far.

Some Waiters were very offish, left dirty plates on table too long after each course and when they were cleared they left the used cutlery on the table and i had to ask for clean ones. Never again🤬👎

Just had food delivered from here. Absolutely beautiful. One of the best meals we’ve had in a while. Mistook a chilli for a green bean and it blew my head off. Highly recommend it.

Very very good, no complaints, staff were sound(very polite), food was good, draught cobra was good ( normally I’m fussy with draught).I’m on a paleo dirt and they accommodated it by grilling the food. I will be back again soon, quite impressed.

Takeaway was very Small portions. Onion bahji starter- 2 small balls, samosas, again 2 small pieces. Shaslick, small bits of chicken. Food was very greesy and oil-ly. Over priced for the amount of food you get so not worth it.

Disgusting food that’s been cooked days ago and reheated in the microwave. Don’t be fooled by the garnishing. Worst Biryani I’ve tried utter disgrace to Indian Cuisine, cooked by non Indian people. Clearly they don’t know how to master basic culinary skills of the Indian cuisine. I found a hair in my food which clearly wasn’t mine as I have red hair. When I tried to complain, the staff hurled profane language towards me. Staff are hostile and rude. Would have given it 0 stars if Google allowed me to. Avoid at all costs unless you want an upset stomach.
