Maypole in Swale

My Brother had his 70th Birthday Bash at The Maypole - as a private function. Super venue - super food and a super host managing it all. Certainly a day to remember. Many thanks!

Tried our local Thai for first time and was glad we did The tempura prawns were delicious really crispy coating Nice satay with good sauce. The massaman was really tasty and so was the pad Thai We were not disappointed with the food Waiting staff really chatty and friendly .Only disappointment was presentation of mojito cocktail @£8.50 Did ask for long glass with more mint and ice but still didn't quite hit the mark! would recommend this restaurant and will go again

Ordered takeaway, and it was divine! Ordered Massaman, Green Curry and Pad Thai. All of it was delicious.

I’ve just had the most fabulous meal in this restaurant this evening I had the green prawn curry my wife had the massaman curry the flavours were just awesome food was freshly prepared service was excellent ambience in the restaurant just right, well done we will be back

A return visit to the Maypole, this time taking friends who hadn’t been before What a place they said and would definitely book and again, in turn bringing friends that hadn’t been before The food as always was exceptional and Jimmy is an excellent host, giving you a personal customer experience and ensuring you are well cared for This venue should be on any visit to Faversham, it consistently delivers great food in a lovely sophisticated atmosphere and at the same time, warm and family friendly Highly recommended and you’ll be booking a return visit once you have been once!

Just had a disappointing birthday meal here. The issue first noticed was the £9 cocktails had been poorly made with insufficent alcoholic content. The Gin Fizz was simple soda water with a Baking Cherry? The food itself was OK but our selection of the same set meal for all of us allowed all the food to be served in single shared bowls. The quantity of food in these bowls was insufficent for four to share making the whole meal rather expensive and disappointing at nearly £160 for four of us. None of us thought the quality of food and drinks justified the final cost. It was simple poor value! Maybe in a smaller party the food might have been better value but that does not excuse the drinks. I can not recommend this restuarant after our experiance

Our second visit here and again as good as the first. Jimmy is superb at his customer experience and ensuring his diners are well cared for Oh, and have I mentioned the food - now this is worth coming for. I loved the Red Chicken Thai curry. Come to think of it the Pad Thai was pretty darn good as well. For an experience and the food, this is worth the visit. Highly recommended - and you'll need to book your table quick - before we do - again!!!!

We were going out for a pub meal but decided to try the Maypole. Best Thai we've had in years. Fantastic looking inside and great service.

We have been here a number of times and the food has been consistently great, authentic Thai food cooked to perfection. The restaurant is lovely and Jimmy is the perfect host, always welcoming with a friendly smile! Highly recommended

What a place... you must go to eat here when you can. The food is exceptional and the service was brilliant. Couldn't recommend enough!

We booked a table for 4 last night for when the Faversham carnival had gone passed. The restaurant was busy, with just one man and a young lad serving. We had a table at the back behind the bar,all very nicely decorated. Limited menu but the food looked good. We waited 20 minutes without anybody attempting to take our order or offer drinks. The table next to us had drinks but had not ordered food after 40 minutes waiting. That's when we left. It all looked good just a shame we didn't get a chance to try it. Faversham carnival, loads of people, expect a busy night , more waiters needed.

Beautifully decorated Thai restaurant with attentive staff, overseen by the owner Jimmy Food is lovely and cooked to order. Try the oil with the crackers whilst waiting for your starters, it will set you up for a dining experience. The dishes are flavoursome and there will be sufficient choice to cover your taste buds for those that like mild to hot dishes Decent range of wines to suit all tastes, we had the Rioja and was excellent The experience and food that Jimmy delivers has always been excellent and when you have been once, you'll be booking again very soon!

Managed to get a table at Maypole last Saturday. As a party of 5 we were allocated out own room at the rear of the restaurant which was decorated beautifully in a Thai theme, as you would expect! Service was prompt, food was amazing. Although the menu is limited, it was clear that the food is cooked to order. I love hot and spicy flavours and the waitress and Jimmy the owner who looked after us, provided some chilli oil from the kitchen to spice up the crackers before the meal. We ordered various dishes including Pad Thai Chicken, both Green and Red Curries with additional side dishes. The only disappointment was the lack of draft beer (a problem everywhere at the moment due to dray shortages) so we could only drink bottled beer. Experience and food were so good we have booked again for this Saturday - can;t wait !!!

Go out to restaurants all the time had the worst service ever table wasn't laid waited 45 minutes for order to be taken another 30 minutes for starter 4 at the table only 3 got their starter had to ask for cutlery should have left at that point but suffered until after mains came only one waitress who was 15 years old serving everyone will never return.

My partner and I decided to visit the Maypole due to it's relatively good reviews. As we had not booked, we waited for a table that became free. When being shown to our table, it had not been set up as it should have been i.e. no napkins. The food was ok but have had better and we also found that some of the items on the menu were pricey for what it was. Service was relatively slow although they were very busy. I believe they may have been understaffed. All in all, we found this restaurant to be average despite the reviews.

We enjoyed a lovely meal here recently. Food and service was excellent, and reasonably priced. Will definitely be back.

Such delicious food. We can’t wait to go again! We’ve been a couple of times and both times they’ve not had the full selection of beers on offer but the quality of the food is sooooooo good it doesn’t matter. If you like Thai food you have to try this place!

Wonderful, flavoursome, fresh and top-quality Thai and Chinese food cooked to perfection. My husband (a discerning ex-chef) and I absolutely love it. Jimmy is an exceptional host, nothing is too much trouble and diners are very well looked after.

Authentic Thai in Faversham! Limited menu but has all the essentials. Fresh, clean flavoursome food. I’m surprised it wasn’t fully booked even in a week night. Tom yum amazing and the green curry was beautiful. Personally could have handled a bit more spice but not knocking them for that. Staff were excellent and service was fast but not too fast to be worried. Overall A class....if I have people visiting, this is where I’m taking them!! We came here with a big party- all the food was homemade- piping hot- fresh vegetables- cooked to perfection.... prettiest barmaids in Kent by far....

This is a great new restaurant in Faversham. We enjoyed a lovely family meal served by friendly and polite staff. The food was beautifully cooked and presented. Great addition to the Faversham restaurant scene; would certainly recommend a visit.

We have been hoping for good Thai food in Faversham, and here it is. Good veg tempura, good Tom yum and good sea bass as well as veg curry. Recommended.

We went with my parents as this was recommended by a friend! What a fantastic addition to Faversham! The food & service was so good. Highly recommend the Massaman Curry. We’re already planning our next visit 😊

Both my wife and I are good cooks. This means that if we are going out for a meal that will cost considerably more than eating at home the restaurant must provide three things. 1. A pleasant ambiance. 2. Welcoming staff. 3. An enjoyable meal.

Jimmy’s place is so relaxing and the Thai food excellent. Although the menu might not be as big as some Thai restaurant, there are plenty of choices. The portions are good too. We went with friends on a sat night and the place was packed and people kept coming in! One of the waiting staff did let him down that evening so the wait for food was slightly longer but no issues. We returned again early March with my parents and the food was also brilliant again and a new staff- very attentive. Now we have booked to go again this weekend. Can’t have enough of this good Thai. And so local too.

We've been 4 times now and have become addicted to the food. They've got the flavours spot on with a stunning room. Daytime lunch is also very good but the evening Thai menu is great.

We had a lovely Thai meal here. The surroundings are slightly quirky, stylish and comfortable. We also came a while ago for lunch and had wonderful tea and sandwiches. I had the coronation chicken and it was memorably good. The Maypole hasn't been open all that long, but I would thoroughly recommend.

We had an excellent Thai meal in the Maypole. Quite inexpensive, and lovely atmosphere in this intimate and nicely furnished restaurant. I understand the Thai meals operate on Thurs,Fri and Sat. During the day it is a Tea room including Chinese tea with English lunches. A bit of an eclectic mix.
