Mayflower in Chesterfield

Have had two takeaways from here now and great every time. Service is friendly and polite. Starters and mains both great and obviously fresh. Not greasy at all and very pleasant. Definitely coming back.

Always excellent food and friendly service. You may wait a short while after your collection time if it’s really busy, but it’s well worth the wait! Never had a bad meal and the prices are decent. Highly recommend!

This is my favourite Chinese, everytime I order it is fabulous! The lady who serves / answers phone calls is always smiling and friendly. The collection time is quick, and easy to pick up. Highly recommend 10/10

We ordered from this Chinese for the first time last week ( me being very apprehensive, once you find a good Chinese it's hard to order elsewhere 🤣) but it was absolutely beautiful! And probably the best Chinese I've had in a long time! So much so we order again 2 days later 🐷😅 beautiful food brilliant service highly highly recommend! The food could be done with less cooking oil.

Food is great. Staff are very friendly. Telephone service is a joke. Phone gets picked up, (if you are lucky) then asked to wait a few moments. Phone is placed on the side, then anytime between 5 and 15 minutes later, your order is taken. Normal wait between order and collection is about 40 minutes. You get there at time specified and its still a 20 minute wait in the shop for your order. 134 calls made this evening and I can't even get through........ They are busy for a reason. The food is fantastic but they got to sort out the ordering system and be truthful about collection times. 🙂

Unfortunately me and the family ordered last night Saturday night. We understood we had to wait a while due to it being a Saturday. That's no the issue though. Unfortunately after the meal I became unwell. Feeling sick sweating etc. Just thought it might have been a long day etc. However my father in law became the same which was odd. The only thing we had different to everyone was prawn balls. Needless to say we were up most of the night vomiting. It's sad because I've had some really nice dishes from.there. but I don't think we will be returning from now on.

Seriously! Every time we phone an order for collection - turn up at the time given and the order has never even been started. Order at 6, told collection at 6.35, order not ready till 7. Rubbish service 😡

Easily the best Chinese takeaway in Chesterfield 😋 won’t be using any other Chinese takeaway now. The Chinese man who delivers the food is also really friendly and always has a smile on his face too!! 😁 (the owner)

Don’t get me wrong some of the food there is so good but the ribs are bone u don’t get no meat on them we rang back up and they said they will bring more and they did and it was tiny little bones

We moved to Chesterfield last year and this is only five minutes from our house so we finally thought we’d give it a try. What a treat! We had Set menu B for two people and it was hot, freshly cooked and very tasty. Excellent value too. We will definitely be back for more.

Having sampled Chinese takeaways in other parts of the country during a recent holiday, I can tell you that my local takeaway the Mayflower is one of the best. Very authentic flavours, good portions, reasonable prices and friendly staff. Never had a disappointing meal from them. Thoroughly recommend.

Just bought a special chow mein from this take away... I have never tasted Chinese food so bland... The noodles were under cooked, it was swimming in a very thin watery liquid which had no flavour whatsoever... This was a very good takeaway in the past but the standards have decreased of late.

Always have Chinese food from Mayflower, so much so that they now know my address when I call, the food has always been hot and tasty and once when they did deliver late we got some free spring rolls the next time we called, love it

Got to say we have been having food from here for a number of years & its been 110% !!! Delivery is and has been on time & the food has been cooked perfect. We have recently moved further away from Mayflower & they always deliver on time or sooner than said!!! 👍👍👍👍👍👍

Have ordered regularly and always found food to be of a high standard. Was dismayed to see one negative review from 5 years ago holding online rating down to an undeserved 1 out of 5. I have nothing but positive things to say about the staff, value for money and promptness of delivery.

Me and my partner ordered a takeaway and all seemed fine delivered on time, But the food was horrendous I'd advise to steer clear of this place all in the bin not even edible. Avoid!!!

Has always been consistently good food. This is probably the reason for the waiting time though. Worth ringing order through first to save the wait.

All I can say is they must not like the complainers I've order over 100 different Chinese from there and never had a bad experience in fact it's in my top 3 places to eat Chinese 🙄

Food was cold and disgusting ,also this resturant was given 1 star for food hygene recently in Derbyshire times.
