Having used this takeaway for many years , I am so shocked and disappointed that they ignore my dietary requirements. During every order I mention that all the food needs to be completely vegan and am assured each time that this is honered . It turns out the staff do not have a clue what vegetarian means let alone vegan and myself and family have been poisoning ourselves with non veggie food for all these years . Don't even know what to say about this . Could cry .

Was staying at hotel across the road. Perfect for a late night snack. We opted for beef chow mein. Really tasty. Great service

Food is always spot on and so tasty! Women on the phone is always polite, fast & just amazing, taking orders, adding up and taking payment in less than 2 mins!

Amazing food, I continue to order from this take away , honestly is the best in barry. great customer service, they also try to keep the price down for you, by offering freebies such as a free meal or bottle of coke if you order over a certain amount, as well as the free prawn crackers. I have never had one bad meal or a forgotten item with this take away, and I would highly recommend.. One last point to take note of, order early as they are busy because of their popularity. You can't blame them for being so busy. It's a good sign that they produce great food and always delivered piping hot.

During my 22nd Birthday stuck in lockdown, Mayflower went above and beyond to sort my order so I wasn’t left disappointed without a meal to enjoy. I want to give a special thanks to the Boss & His Daughter - mainly his daughter, who runs the Facebook page and responded to my messages, quickly, politely and with the most incredible service I’ve ever experience from any food take away company in my entire life. You really personalised my experience and showed me how much you care about your customers and I honestly couldn’t thank you enough. The food was absolutely incredible, piping hot and tasted absolutely amazing. Not a fault in sight. Thank you so much for everything! After adding up the total of food ordered I realised they regularly overcharge customers by about £3-4, hoping customers don’t realise. Spoke to manager who was very rude

We’ve ordered from here for years, most weekends and never had an issue, lovely food and good service. Tonight there was pork in our food. We do NOT eat pork especially, and we do not eat any meat. Called up to tell them and was told we could have 10% off and a free chow mein?! They didn’t seem to care that they had put meat in the food when we specifically told them of dietary requirements and seemed to view this as an inconvenience? Not acknowledging the fact that none of the food dished up could be eaten. When we mentioned that fact that we had told them of dietary requirements and mentioned pork being an issue if Muslim/Jewish, or for example peanuts for an allergy I’d told beforehand they put the phone down on us. This is a massive departure from usually fantastic customer service and very concerning.

Opened the food up started to put on plates then opened the pancake rolls which were stinking and mouldy! I put all the food back in the carrier bag and returned to the shop they tried refusing a refund until I threatened to take the pancake roll to environmental health! Avoid this place like the plague!

Practically raw mushrooms..... Spring rolls tasted off.... Bland noodles.... Very disappointed and will be going elsewhere

Ordered a takeaway from here the special fried rice was ok. Ordered a side order of chips and curry sauce. Unfortunately the chips tasted reheated and the curry sauce just tasted awful , I won't be going back to this place again, as I have had a lot better in Barry. It's a shame as it's in a good location.

Don’t know what has happened here in a short space of time Food served too quick, always a sign of a microwave..... not fresh, hence the food went though me quicker than a Lamborghini Stick with New Yangs, in Thompson St Won’t return

I absolutely love Chinese food, so when I ordered from Mayflower, I had high expectations. Let me tell you, they did not disappoint! The food was so tasty and there was so much variety to choose from! The salt and pepper seasoning they use is delicious on anything from chicken wings to chips and the crispy shredded beef in Peking sauce is a must. I could eat it everyday! I would definitely recommend this place again and again.

The food was nice but I was disgusted as there was hair in the food! Very unhygienic and I will not be going back

Found a massive hair in food, called up to tell them, teeth offered discount on next meal, so tried again and guess what, three massive black thick hairs in our chow mein, called up again and they said we must be lying to get cheaper food, appalling service, what shame, stay clear if you can

Visited here about 10 times now over the last few months, after the nearby Champagne take away changed hands and went down hill I love the chicken curry with chicken rice in this place Never had a bad meal See that the local police are using this place too I think they would know where to eat !! Worse Chinese I've ever been to! Had mouldy pancake rolls and they refused to give a refund because I'd taken the food out of the containers!! Avoid this place like the plague!

I have ordered a few times before from Mayflower and the food and service has been great. Twice I have ordered from Mayflower now and have had the wrong order and when I have called to query it been told it’s my fault!! I know how to order food, it’s my usual order I have from other Chinese takeaways so I don’t expect to be told I have ordered wrong!! When calling to query it, I was met with an incredibly rude woman who just blamed me continuously!! Rudest person ever so avoid!!

Como nuestro Restaurante Chino llevar cerrado pensamos en probar este establecimiento. El personal era muy amable y la comida era deliciosa y siempre a tiempo. Mi esposa es muy exigente en su comida, pero ella estaba absolutamente encantado con su comida, así como I. Los precios son muy razonables y parece que será situar más órdenes de aquí muy pronto! !

Been looking for a nice Chinese since I moved to Barry and having tried the Mayflower I think I have a regular.... Goods food, very tasty, nice friendly service, what else is there to say!

Currently the best chinese takeaway for delivery in Barry in my opinion. Tried a few! Always good on the phone when taking the order, quick delivery, never longer than stated,normally quicker. Excellent quality food and generous portions. I normally get a leftover feed the next day. House special curry is excellent and everything else consistently is. Highly recommended.

Usual Chinese closed at the moment, not been to the Mayflower in a long time fancied one last night, well what can I say!! FANTASTIC, best I have had in a long time. Service was very friendly and food quality excellent also good value for money. Lots of beef and so tender. Think I found a new regular.

We've tried many of the Chinese takeaways in Barry I think it is by far the best. The food is fresh and tasty. Ordering over the phone is easy and they take card payment. Delivery is very fast!Never had a bad meal. Food is always great. Definitely recommended.

Genuinely one of the best meals that I've had from a Chinese takeaway. I purchased food from Mayflower upon recommendation from a friend whilst visiting the area and was impressed. The delivery was fast, service very good and the staff are very friendly and polite which is always nice! I tried a range of dishes as I was sharing with friends and they were all hot on arrival and looked great. All dishes were of a high quality and very tasty. I have found in the past that some Chinese takeaways can be very salty but this was perfect. The prices were very reasonable too and the food was definitely worth the money. If I visit the area again, I will definitely be coming back and I would recommend Mayflower to anyone.
