Vish was an impeccable server who well represented the atmosphere of the Maine.

Once my favorite place but it has majorly gone downhill. We couldn’t see the stage, yet the music was so loud we couldn’t talk. To top it off we were charged an entertainment fee, why charge us with no view? The food was tiny, bland and lacked any meat or fish. The drinks were mediocre. The service was the only thing they got right. Wow, what a disappointment, don’t waste your money.

I had an amazing experience at The MAINE Mayfair. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a perfect balance of elegance and energy. The food was absolutely delicious—beautifully presented and full of flavour. What truly made the evening extra special was the service. Our waiter, Vish, was exceptional—attentive, friendly, and genuinely made us feel looked after. He added such a personal touch to the whole evening, and it didn’t go unnoticed. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience in Mayfair. Will definitely be back!

We chose The Maine Mayfair for our wedding night, and it was absolutely perfect. From the moment we arrived, the service was immaculate — attentive without being intrusive, making us feel truly special. From the starters to the mains, everything was bursting with flavour. I enjoyed the prawns à la plancha followed by the seabass, whilst my husband enjoyed the fish tacos followed by the filet mignon. The staff went above and beyond to make our evening memorable, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Visited on my birthday, 1st April, 2025 and my husband and I really enjoyed the food! Our cocktails and wine were fantastic and a special shout out to the soft baked cookie dessert which was delicious! However, we were let down by three things. 1. Despite booking this restaurant for my special birthday and stipulating this on email which the staff acknowledged, there was absolutely no mention or recognition for it during our meal. This was a big disappointment given that I'd specifically chosen to have my birthday meal there. 2. I booked the table for 5.30pm as I intentionally wanted to ensure we had plenty of time to enjoy the live music which as stipulated on the website should start from 6.30pm but instead it started at 7.30pm and we were ready to leave by then. 3. My husband wanted to order the fish tacos but we weren't told they were not available, and so when he went to place the order he was simply told, we couldn't have them. I would have expected the waiters to suggest an alternative and instead he just walked off when we asked for a few extra minutes to decide on another dish. We had multiple waiters which was a little confusing and didn't provide a personalised service, which for the price we paid - over £300, we would have expected. Overall, worth a visit for the food and drinks but other elements did let the experience down and that was a shame given the occasion I had booked for.

The staff were all quite friendly and there was a lovely atmosphere with live music. Food was great and I'd say it's worth the price considering portion size. The atmosphere is somewhat dimmed by the loud kitchen sometimes overshadowing the musicians. I would definitely go again!

I had high expectations for The Maine, but overall, it felt a bit overrated. Some things were great, others disappointing, so I’m left with mixed feelings. The good: The atmosphere was cool, and the live music was incredible—the singer and band were the highlight of the night. The drinks were creative and well-made. I also appreciated that the staff was accommodating when we called to say we’d arrive 15/20 minutes late. The not-so-good: The food didn’t match the setting or the price. My octopus was mostly burnt—in some parts so tough I couldn’t cut it. They did offer to replace it after I complained, which I appreciated, but honestly, a high-end restaurant shouldn’t be serving something like that in the first place. The rest of the meal was fine but forgettable. Service was also inconsistent—our server was great and attentive, but the rest of the staff barely acknowledged us. We also had a frustrating experience with our table. When we called ahead to say we’d be 10–20 minutes late, we were told that if we arrived an hour later instead, we would be given a better table. We followed their advice, but when we arrived, we were seated at a back table with no view of the stage at all (despite paying the £105 per person minimum spend). I wouldn’t have minded the minimum spend, and I appreciated their flexibility with our delay, but we adjusted our plans based on their recommendation and ended up worse off. At that point, we might as well have stuck to our original timing, rather than eat at 10pm. The burlesque show, while a fun touch, was quite short and not as polished as I’d expected. Great for drinks and live music, but the food, service, and overall value didn’t justify the price (in my opinion).

Had a fantastic dining experience at The MAINE Mayfair! The two of us started with the Crab & Avocado Salad, which was fresh and well-balanced, and the Chargrilled Octopus, which had a perfect smoky flavor and tender texture. For mains, we enjoyed the Lobster Pasta, rich and packed with succulent lobster meat, and the Grilled Maine Lobster, which was absolutely delicious. The service was excellent, with friendly staff who made us feel welcome. The ambiance was brilliant, elegant yet relaxed, making it a perfect spot for a memorable meal. Highly recommend!

This place is a must visit if you come to london. The food here is great and the atmosphere is amazing. I have been to this place many times and for sure will comeback again.

The food is fantastic, the staff are welcoming and friendly. The shows are phenomenal (especially on a Friday and Saturday). I highly recommend a visit. Please make the effort to dress up... you don't want to be the only one who doesn't. Only suggestion is more variety for vegetarian/vegan to the menu as my partner didn't have much to choose from.

We had high expectations for this restaurant, but unfortunately, our experience was far from pleasant. While the food itself was decent, the service and atmosphere completely ruined the evening. First, the staff were openly arguing at each other while we were dining, creating an uncomfortable and unprofessional environment. On top of that, one of our main dishes—the lobster pasta—arrived cold, which was unacceptable for the price we were paying. The worst part, however, was the treatment we received regarding the optional service charge. We chose not to pay it, which is our right, but the staff reacted poorly, making passive-aggressive comments suggesting we shouldn’t dine at "expensive places" if we couldn’t afford it. This was incredibly rude and uncalled for, especially since our bill was £500. A restaurant at this price point should prioritize professionalism, quality service, and respect for its customers. Sadly, this place failed in all three areas. Would not recommend.

We loved the maine so much in ibiza we found out from the waiter that we have one in London so we couldn't wait to try and it didn't disappoint. It was giving classy, sophisticated ambience, serving amazing food, everything you expect from a fine dining restaurant. We will make a later booking next time as they have live music in the evenings. Highly recommend. A stunning restaurant. The fish tacos were amazing!! also the oysters and warm cookie for dessert was delicious.

It was my first and last time coming to this place. So beautiful, nice music, good food and terrible staff. They will do their best to make you feel uncomfortable and not welcome. You are not allowed to take photo with flash light ( which is understandable) so we tried to use the light on the table and the guy came over to tell us that the light is so expensive and it’s from France, they each cost a $1000 and we should not touch it (so embarrassing in front of my friends) You can tell they are racist by the way they treat their customers differently.

We had a horrible experience at Maine Mayfair in December 24 for our work Christmas lunch. We booked in for lunch for myself and my colleagues, some who had travelled from outside of London to be there, based on an online menu on their website (link is still live on website 20/2 as pictured) which offers two courses for £35. When booking I also added in the comments that we would be going for the two course deal for £35. At no point was I contacted to advise this wasn't available. We turned up on the day and was advised that the offer was not available, despite being able to show them the menu in person on their website. We however said we were flexible on dishes and was there another set menu around a similar cost they could provide and were told no, we would have to order off the el a carte menu, which would have exceeded our work budget. We ended up leaving and having a lovely lunch somewhere else that luckily was able to accomodate us on one of the busiest days of the year. At no point did the staff members offer to refund me the £20 deposit or honour the deal on the website, and since then I have still not received a refund for the deposit or been contacted at all about my booking despite being asked too. Absolutely shocking level of service from a high end establishment, I have certainly been advising people to not attend.

We had an amazing experience at the Maine! The food was absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere was lovely, with some smooth jazz playing our favorite songs in the background. The staff was friendly and accommodating, but a special shout-out goes to our head waiter, Vish. He guided us through the menu, made sure we had the break we requested between starters and mains, and ensured the food was served warm and right to our table. He checked in just the right amount, making sure we were enjoying ourselves throughout the meal. Highly recommend!

I had a fantastic evening with my Mum and brother celebrating our birthdays. Cristian took great care of us and gave great food recommendations and even gave us all birthday candles in our puddings. The music and atmosphere was great. It's pricey so definitely a special occasion place, and is quite full of people taking photos of themselves and the food rather than just enjoying where they are.

Quality of service is below par. Ordered a gift card for a friend's birthday however the wrong order was delivered. It was clearly someone else's order as it was addressed to a completely different individual for an entirely different sum. The 'birthday surprise' is out of the window and will now be late (whenever the correct order decides to show) with the inconvenience of returning the wrongly issued card. Despite reaching out by email last week I'm still waiting for the team to rectify this. No communication to date and not a great start.

Everything about our experience at The Maine was outstanding, from the food to the ambiance. The sticky short ribs were incredible, and the sea bream crudo with caviar was definitely the best I’ve ever had. A special shoutout to AJ, who was in charge of our table and went above and beyond to make our evening exceptional. He was not only attentive and friendly but also incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. His recommendations were spot on, and his professionalism truly elevated our experience. Overall, it was an amazing night, and I’ll definitely be coming back!!

My favourite place to go in London for oysters, to not talk about the amazing customer service !
