Maya Tandoori in Bexley

Maya is our local go to Indian takeaway we always order from here as the food is always lovely. I hate to complain but Tonight I have to say I was a little disappointed when the food arrived. My partners dish (chicken tikka masala) was as you’d expect and everything else we ordered was spot on… I ordered the chicken tikka shashlik, which I have had before and it was really nice, however this time it appeared to be missing an ingredient. The chicken, onions, peppers and tomato were all in the container but the sauce was missing so it Was more like a starter than a curry!.. I was really looking forward to it as well.. My partner and I will continue to order here as we have never had any problems with our orders prior to this so I’m guessing this time round it was just an honest mistake? I really hope that next time my dish will be complete?

I ordered shag aloo from the menu which was rotten and it was smelling so bad. But the Manchurian chicken tikka was good and other items was also nice. There service was poor. We literally got our food after 2hrs.

Having placed my order by phone, I then went to collect my food and paid for it. Upon opening it once I was home I found they had missed placed my rice for a vegetable curry. I phoned them up and they said they had got the order wrong and apologised. But refused to send me some rice that I was missing. The asked me to come back to get it and they wouldn’t charge me! I had already paid for it but instead got a veg curry that I never wanted. They said it wasn’t worth there while to deliver a portion of rice.(half mile) Well that’s the last time I go in there. Never been the same since it was the Alagor.

Went for the Sunday buffet, all you can eat for £15.95. This includes papadums and we were also given a naan bread on the house. The food was great, my favourite dish was the tandoori chicken wings.

They had so many items including chicken, lamb, vegetable, rice nan bread and some starters in buffet. We are satisfied with their food quality, environment and service. The price is also reasonable.

Just had the Sunday buffet evening here, it was our first experience dining in Maya but it won’t be the last, food was full of flavour and a great variety. Service was friendly and so welcoming. Can’t wait to come back :)

Went in yesterday took my wife & mother in law and children and had to leave a review saying how we enjoy coming back here, lovely friendly service always polite & welcoming. Food is always on point, so reasonable in price too. Plus my kids & my 2 year old always polish their plates. Spot on. 👍🏼

Fabulous food, lovely wines, amazing service, beautiful restaurant and lighting, even the toilets were immaculate! We had the very reasonably priced all day Sunday buffet, lots of choice, all fresh and hot. However, this is a Bexleyheath secret... This is not advertised on their website, or their Facebook page. Should you have the patience to hunt down their Instagram page, and scroll for a bit, you will find a post on this elusive buffet! If this was promoted, I think they'd be booked out months in advance. My husband and I will definitely be back, lots!

I’m not happy about the takeaway I’ve never tasted sweeter food in my life. Every curry dish we had was way too sweet I could not eat anything, we had to throw it away. I was going to book a table for my birthday but after trying the takeaway food I won’t be visiting again. I’m so disappointed. They should stop putting sugar into curries. It’s not supposed to be dessert is it? Cham

We have travelled far and wide and found this to be the best Indian food. Quantity and quality and flavour perfect .Proffesional service from staff.

Food was bog standard , they put a lot of unnecessary peppers in the sheek kebab.

Loved the food. The customer service was amazing, the manager Zil looked after us and made us feel welcome. I’ll definitely be coming back and be recommending this place!

We ate very well at Maya Tandoori and were very well catered for. The service staff was very attentive and friendly, we enjoyed all four main courses and the two vegetables very much.

Ordered take away based on Menu card dropped in our postbox. Starters were OK but main course was very bad, lot of sugar in Sag Paneer, who needs sugar in curry? Paratha was not even cooked properly.

Did not enjoy my experience here-Food was just about warm. Waiter stretched across me to clear a plate while I was eating which I found very rude. Wouldn’t recommend this place.

Thought I would try a takeaway from Maya as 1) new to Bexleyheath and 2) reviews sounded encouraging. Have always found a takeaway is a good way of testing freshness and flavour. Unfortunately I was not impressed. The onion bhajees were hard and tasteless, the vindaloo was just a hot gravy with lumps of chicken and the veg curry just warmed up. I can only conclude the restaurant food is cooked fresh for customers dining in!!

Took the family out to eat Asian food. Didn't think any restaurant would be able to match home cooking. Surprised with the standard of food being on par with home cooking. Mum's cooking. Salute Maya Tandoori, would definitely recommend anyone to visit Maya if they want to really enjoy the taste of home cooking. Ask for the chefs special on mixed Biriyani with Chana Dahl.

went over the weekend staff were amazing food was on point exploding with flavours. also got a complimentary drink at the end of the night. will 100% recommend. you will defo see my face again. thank you maya team

I have eaten in many indian restaurants and this is one of the best I have tried. The tandoori mix delux was personally my favourite. Will definitely be coming here again.

Food was amazing 👌 best I've had in London yet, 10/10 for the Lamb biryani. Staff were lovely very welcoming, and friendly. Lovely place for a family meal would definitely recommend.

Not sure what Indian food everyone else in these reviews has been eating, unless I just got unlucky with my visit... I found the food to be quite bland and flavourless, not what I'd expect from Indian food. Ordered the vegetable biryani and the sabsi was sweet and creamy which is not to my taste. This is what I imagine 'British' Indian food to taste like. My partner ordered the tandoori grill 'deluxe' and it was a plate of dry overcooked meat which they also set on fire at the table which probably didn't help. The restaurant itself is a new and comfortable environment, just a shame about the food.

Upon a recommendation we have booked a work get together at the Maya Tandoori. Very welcoming from the get go. Ambient setting with classical music. Mr Ali enthusiastically explained his journey to offering exquisite authentic Bangladeshi food, havjng ancestral recipes on offer. What a delight what a privilege. What a story. A true gent, a true Curry Knight in the region. We plan and look forward to booking our Xmas due in the coming weeks. Don't want to miss out!!!!!

Decided to give Maya a try given the previous reviews for a new restaurant. Food was ok but nothing special. Ordered starters but no salad included which should be the normal.
