Maya DD's in Greenwich

Actually it was our first and last food take away from Maya Dd restaurant. I and my family visited Woolwich and in the evening decided to have some typical Nepali food which we ordered from Maya Dd kitchen. The food was absolutely delicious but the portions were too small. As per the prices wise comparison to other restaurants the portion wise is too small . We ordered quite a lot of food and we end up with disappointment . If Maya dd kitchen is doing business that’s fine but if they are looking to win There customer hearts and mind then they should look into the account of making food portions a bit bigger .

On a previous visit I found my mutton curry delicious and my previous review was 5 star, but today I feel I need to update based on my more recent experience. On that previous visit my wife didn't enjoy as much as me and so we hadn't returned. But today, with my wife away, I wanted to see for myself so popped down to the restaurant to order. This was takeaway but hot still once I got home, but even allowing for that the food was decidedly average. Momo 10 in quantity were wrapped and cooked well, but very tiny, not much filling. The sauce was a simple tomato paste with little spice or flavour. Moving onto my Chow mein was a small serving in one of those American style cardboard tubs. This was not packed in like they could and I feel penalised takeaway even though same price as eat in. The meat was limited in quantity and what was there seemed twice-cooked and quite "dry and toasty". This might have been okay if the meat had taken up some of the flavours but unfortunately there wasn't much flavour to take up. I had asked for the noodles to to be extra spicy, and the lady even warned me that the noodles were already quite hot, but I felt okay with that. What was served had what I would say was literally *zero* spice. Actually there was so little flavour that I do wonder if between the front desk and the kitchen "extra spice" got translated into "no spice". Even tipping my momo sauce into the noodles couldn't help because that sauce was so light. Recollecting that previous visit, I think my wife had Chow mein and Momo and because she wasn't a fan we hadn't returned. Now, having tried myself I think I understand she might have even been downplaying how average they were.

One of the best Nepali ( neweri ) cuisine in London i tried so many places similar food coz of my favorite dishes I find tipical taste of Nepal heard longtime before about Maya DD’s today got opportunity to visit this restaurant. I feel very lucky such a tasty food after longtime I dine. I am very very satisfied with food and atmosphere together very highly cleanest. Staff were also very friendly specially manager Mr. Kalyan thank you very much for your devotees and care to the customer. Can’t wait again to visit Maya DD’s restaurant. See you soon guys.

An absolute delight! Authentic nepalese food, most certainly the best in London! Lovely helpful staff. really good all round AND affordable!

Me and my partner went in this restaurant.The food is not so tasty. We ordered mutton sekuwa which is not cooked properly and at last we both got. bad belly ache. The chicken jhol mom is made only from dough as there is no chicken filling at all. The food is not cooked properly which at last cause to us belly ache and diarrhoea. We paid nearly 50 pound which is not worth. We are going to report this issue to the council so that they can take appropriate action against serving such food. Not recommended for anyone

Typical Nepalese ambience and the taste definitely took me back home.

Ordered two chicken curry on the bone for delivery. incorrect foods was delivered . Driver Took it back to changed over however, waited 25mins no action taken 😌. Luckily I rang to enquire otherwise no food /action would have been delivered/taken. Ultra Poor staff communication

Accidentally stumbled across this place when visiting Woolwich; we live like an hour away but we will definitely be back - so far I can probably put this place into my top 3 London finds Ordered fried momos, mutton sekuwa, daal (with butter naan) and jeri (a dessert) - all were absolutely amazing

Best food anyone could ever eat in london. Feels like you’re back home. Mutton choila and sukuti the best. Also the thaali was amazing. Sadheko momo and chatpate. Respect to the chefs Waitresses lady was so helpful she was giving her 100% to all customers.

This is undoubtedly best and reasonable Nepali restaurant in London. The commute is easy via Elizabeth Line. And taste is amazing. I highly recommend the Nepali thali- it’s worth the price!

Disappointing service and didn’t enjoy our dinner. Our drink and starter was missed and didn’t came even after we finish main course.later we cancel it. They gave Lentils after adding hot water for thali .They need know more about customer service and welcoming to the guest.

Although I rated the food 3 stars the Fried Mutton Momo and Jhol Momo was very tasty, I found the curried soup a bit spicy so I couldn’t drink it however tasted very good with the 10 pieces of pork Momos. For Mains I shared the Thaikali Khana Mutton Platter with my sister. The mutton curry was delicious with the Bhatura fluffy fried cumin bread. The cauli aloo (potato and cauliflower curry) was tasty and the daal is mild in flavour. There was a particular dish that spoilt my meal as it was not to our liking which was the beans with bamboo shoots, its flavour profile was something we were not accustomed to. The other side dishes were ok. The buttered rice was quite dry. We ordered a festive sweet dessert called Khuwa Yomari which had a milky solid filling with Chai flavours, unfortunately so not to our liking either. Their Nepalese tea and coffee was yummy and would order that again. They do have high chairs which my brother in law had to bring up himself from downstairs. Seemed short staffed during lunchtime, however when we asked questions about the menu the waitress was helpful.

Pure authentic food. Must try if you love Nepalese street food like momo, chatpate, sekuwa and sukuti.

The service was quick, we ordered Chatpate, chicken sekuwa, buff sukuti, alu jeera, momos and gorkha beer. Good service. We got really good price for the beer.

Maya DD's is an excellent Nepalese restaurant in Woolwich. We have returned many times - some favourite items include the spicy paneer, the buffalo jerky, the momo, and any curried dish. The menu is extensive and everything we have had has been delicious. The service is top notch and the prices are extremely reasonable.

🌱 Authentic Nepalese food and good service! Tried veg Sadheko momos, veg chilli momos, Sel Roti and Pistachio Kulfi. Sadheko momos were spicy and had a lovely flavour. The chilli momos were the perfect kind of spicy for our taste buds. The Pista Kulfi was one of the best we've had in a long time! Flavour and consistency was on point. We found their momos and service way better than the nearby Kailash Momo. The trip from the other end of town was worth it. Highly recommend Maya DD'S 👌🥟

Really cute and inexpensive place. I have no experience of Nepalese food, but it wasn't for me. Chilli fries tasted like mcdonalds ones covered in oil and sugar. Momos very bland. But as I say probably just not my type of food.

It was my first time. My friends brought me to this restaurant since they have been loyal customers and spoke highly of this place. They called us in at 1900 said they had a table for us but went in with no table ready. We sat there for almost 40 minutes and noticed two tables came in later than us but was served first. They even finished eating and started leaving. Order was completed after almost 2 hours of waiting. Apparently our orders got mixed up and was served to another table. It was so disappointing. I just couldn’t say anything since I didn’t want my friends to feel bad. Would normally just let this go but 2 hours of waiting is just too much.

Really cosy restaurant with nice music. The food was delicious. The thalli was really nice and I especially loved the daal.

Great food, loved their sadheko momos and my husband lovessssssss their chicken curry on bones. The food is very addictive so be prepared 😊 They can have some more vegetarian options but is still amazing.

Our local. The food is absolutely delicious, particularly the pork belly fried and jhol momos are our favourite. It’s clearly popular among Nepalese people in the area which should be a good indication of quality. We’ve been going for about three years, and the only complaint is that it does take a long time before we get served our food. We hope that changes because we love coming and we recognise all the servers, who are all lovely, by now.

We order some starters and main course. The starters we below the par level compare to other places. Main course came too late. Momo was cold as usual, chowmein was mild no soy sauce, just mixed with vegetables and saw first time in life chowmein with cauliflower with mutton chowmein. Everytime we come, momo is always cold. Never recommend my friends. Sorry.

Came into the restaurant and had the mutton on the bone a few weeks ago and thought the food was great. Found they deliver to my area and ordered it again with some other items. The rest of the food was good but there was barely any meat on the small mound of bones. I don't know if this was a mistake or if they didn't care because it was a takeaway but only one or two pieces had substantial meat on them. Wouldn't normally leave a review like this but really disappointed and paid full price for a quarter of the value.

Best Nepalese food ever I have experienced. Right from their warm hospitality to delicious food.. everything was incredible. I highly recommend this restaurant who loves to experiment spicy and delicious food. I tried some traditional dishes such as Mutton Choila - it’s a cold starter but can try, Mutton Sekewa - it was served in sizzler platter and the lamb was so juicy and tender.. also tried a snack made from rice crispies with several condiments on side such as aloo Achaar, offal, black eyed beans etc. highlight of the evening was Chilli momos and the Kobra draft.. just needed for the evening… will surely go back

My teenager found this restaurant via online searches and was keen to try it. It was fantastic and very much a ‘hidden gem’ being down a side street and at the end of a row of shops, some of which seemed boarded up. The tiny restaurant became full up quite quickly with a whole range of people: couples; families; groups of friends - and it’s not hard to see why. The food was delicious, plentiful, and good value. There was no hassling us to move on. A really great restaurant and we’ll be back when we’re next in London!

One of the finest restaurant if you are looking near Woolwich Arsenal Station. We ordered momos, chicken biryani and some drinks. The service was quick and the food was perfect, tasty and very satisfying. Totally worth it.👌

Very calm and beautiful place to be. Music not too loud, nice pleasant people with smiles on their faces as they attend to customers. I like the natural ingredients they use in preparing their dishes too, delicious and healthy I must say for me😊👌

Good place for budget weekly meal. Servers were helpful and friendly. Greeted with smile when we entered the place We took steamed chicken momos and chicken fried rice. Momos - were freshly prepared beautiful. It comes with a hot chutney which goes perfectly with the dish. Chicken fried rice - rice was ok. Well seasoned and fresh in taste but it was bit oily.

We are a Nepalese family from North of England. We have had Nepali food in many Restaurants in the UK but MAYA DD was the best. We had Thakali Thali, Steam Momo, Zhol Momo, Thukpa - all Chicken based. We finsihed our meal with Sel Roti and also took some for home snack. Every dish tasted authentic Nepali. Price wise - it was quite reasonable and the food was worth every penny. The staff were very good especially Sandhya who was very welcoming and courteous throughout. We had a great time and will surely visit Maya DD every time we visit London.

Best nepalese in Woolwich (sorry old faithfuls) I love coming here with friends and family. Great to order family style lots of different dishes or if alone to can get some great variety just for one.

We went to Maya DD on the Nepalese new year, and we fell in Nepal. The staff, location and food made us feel like we were in some Napalise's house and it truly was a great night. We enjoyed the dumplings, the buffalo appetizer and the mutton were incredible and the waitress was so nice to explain the menu. Super recommended for a night out in Woolwich and if you want to taste the true Nepalese food.

Authentic Nepalese food. Went with 2 Nepalese friends who told me this is the only place they eat at. Food was amazing.

The food is delicious. They were the best samosas I’ve ever had. The naan is super buttery and the cauliflower is on point. Atmosphere could be nicer, but I would 100% recommend to everyone. It’s a must visit!

I lived far from london but i listen maya dd name from so many of neplese people so I decided to visit during valentines with my wife. It was my first day in this restaurant and I started order and all the food are really damn tasty and real Nepali taste. Do prefer butter naan with lamb & chicken curry and momo & sukuti with drinks. Friends found this lovely little Nepalese place, ideal for an early evening meal before seeing The Burnt City. The friendly and knowledgeable waitress talked us through various recommendations and explained how to eat the water bombs, like a tiny puri with staffing and sauce to add – totally new and very tasty. Every dish was excellent, dal, chickpea curry, mutton curry, crushed samosa, several we hadn't had before, all of them delicious. Five of us ate a lot of food and were surprised by how light this cuisine is, we just didn't feel stuffed or bloated at all. Maya DD's is also fantastic value, highly recommended.

5 of us needed food before an event in Woolwich, found this place and were blown away. The food was delicious, the starters particularly (water bombs and crushed samosas were like nothing any of us had ever had before!) and the momos were amazing. The service was absolutely lovely. And the prices very reasonable. We were so happy to find it, we will be back. Highly recommend :-)

Authentic Nepali momos! I tried the jhol momo which was just perfect for the rainy weather! Nepali masala tea highly recommended as well!

Delicious food and homely waiting service. Chicken Sadheko momo is my favourite very spicy for 1st timer. Paneer chilly is medium hot and sweet my usual starter. Their other pork starter items are always ordered by my friends, I am non pork eater but they smell really good. I do like to see improvement on their jhol momo which isn't that good as the jhol is more tomato intense flavour than typical soyabean, sesame or peanut flavour. Momo itself lacks seasoning sometimes inside feeling but their achar complements well.Food 10/10Its authentic Nepali not been tweaked at allService 7/10Home feeling, Need to grab their attention when they are busyInfrastructure 6/10Not super fancy, just adequate with some Nepali art decore.It feels small and sometimes cold but you forget that when foods on the table because its so delicious.

Maya DDs is just fantastic. The Momos and Samosas are incredible. After a long locked down work day, sometimes the only cure is a takeaway from here. There is no alternative - certainly not in woolwich.

Tres de nosotros nos pusimos en contacto con Maya DD's a las 9:30 p. metro. un miércoles, y el restaurante todavía estaba casi lleno. Pedimos cordero al curry, pollo con chile y chaat de samosa, y todos nos entregaron rápidamente. Cada uno fue excelente y perfectamente condimentado. Aunque el restaurante cierra oficialmente a las 10: 00 p. metro. , no tuvimos prisa en nuestra comida. Lo mejor de todo, con el vino, la comida se registró a un precio muy razonable. Si está buscando buena comida, excelente servicio, un precio razonable y tal vez cenar tarde, definitivamente vale la pena probar Maya DD's.

Had been there last Sunday with family and friends. As my partner is from Nepal, we have been there before. As always they looked after us very well. You feel very relaxed and feel like home. Food and service is immaculate. Momos were amazing as always, along with Mutton Chow Mein which was so tasty.We were cheeky to ask for the mutton dish from their special menu, which they delivered. It was mind blowing. From well come to good bye, it was faultless. Can’t wait to go back. See you soon team. Thank you once again.

Absolutely shocking service , not what I expected for a soup to be reheated and a salad to be made. After having to reheat the soup as it was cold the food was nice but very poor service

Uno de los mejores, si no el mejor, restaurantes nepalíes en Londres y sin duda vale la pena el viaje de casi 2 horas por la ciudad. Esta es una auténtica cocina nepalí, propiedad y dirigida por nepalíes. Tuve jhol momos por primera vez en 25 años y sabían incluso mejor de lo que recordaba. Sel roti fresco, bhatura, costillas de cordero hyakula, más chole bhatura. Hubo una ligera espera por los platos, pero solo porque todo se cocina fresco a pedido, no se agregaron trozos de carne previamente preparados a las compradas en salsas. Solo desearía haber tenido espacio para los postres.

Vivo en la zona y soy habitual en el restaurante Maya DD. Son uno de los dueños de restaurantes más cálidos y acogedores de la zona. La comida se sirve con mucho cariño, se podría decir que realmente se preocupan por servir buena comida con un servicio igualmente bueno.

This is my second time after a while as I don’t stay locally. But I would give 5 star ⭐️ recommendations for the excellent service and the food is simply mouth-watering and delicious . Bueno, me encontré en el lugar más oscuro de Woolwich durante un par de noches por negocios, así que decidí usar la buena y antigua aplicación de Tripadvisor para encontrar los mejores lugares para comer. Se presentaron numerosas opciones en el área y dos me llamaron la atención, siendo una y otra cerca. En mi primera noche, esta fue mi elección, he probado la comida Gurkha / nepalí antes y me encantó. Este lugar era tan bueno que no exploré más en la segunda noche. Entonces, dos noches no me decepcionaron. Belly Pork para comenzar fue excelente y el curry seguido de los dulces especiales de la casa no me decepcionó. Este es un restaurante de tipo cafetería, pero la calidad de la comida con el personal para igualar. El precio también fue increíble, no te decepcionará.

What a terrific little restaurant! We found this little gem just off the main street in Woolwich. Friendly, fast service and delicious food. Very reasonably priced as well. We will be back!

A little gem within 5 minutes walk from the station, offering delicious food which are nicely presented too. Staffs were friendly and patient. Too eager to start eating so we only have one picture of the dessert Gajar ko Halwa - try it! Really lovely carrot cake with pistachio and almond.
