Gurkha's Inn in Greenwich

Lovely meal in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere with proper white table cloth service, as it should be. Ghurka's Inn is tucked just off the main street. The menu covers Indian and traditional Nepali cuisine, particularly fresh and home made. Even the papadums and condiments were a bit special. Prices are excellent considering the top quality. My wife has been coming here for years so I was glad to see what the fuss is about. 🙏

What a great place to eat. We were in London for the weekend on holiday. We walked in the restaurant when it was already late, but the manager was very friendly and welcomed us. The staff were sweet and kind. And the food delicious. We definitely recommend this place. Frank & Luna

Yummy again- the momo veggie dumplings as a starter are really good

Ordered from uber eats last night, curry came pipping hot which is a good thing but the korma was tasteless, no flavour at all. Woke up this morning to a really bad belly, myself and my partner feel so unwell. 😭

Just received our Deliveroo order for £51 and we got just 1 (ONE) papadom having ordered papadoms for £1.25. Most restaurants give you that for free. To add insult to injury the King Prawn Saag was virtually flavourless. Altogether a very disappointing experience.

Delivered promptly and it tasted pretty good. But maybe slightly expensive for only “pretty good.” I certainly wouldn’t buy the starter again - only two very small samosas for that price felt very overpriced. The rest was passable, but I was expecting better for the money and for the average score other customers have given!

Overall a solid 4.25/5 Ambiance and location : decent air conditioned well lit place , 20 mins walk from cutty sark dlr or you can take bus as well. Service: great service, prompt and provided good suggestions, well behaved staff. Food : ordered veg momos (4.5/5) , spicy paneer fry dry(3.5/5) , asked them to prepare paneer naga ( instead of veg naga) (4/5). Stuffed paratha (4/5) Quantity is decent, taste is good specially if you want hot and spicy food. Papadoms with chutney: the chutnies were really good , especially the mango one with cucumber salad. Must visit if you want authentic cuisine with great service. Only negative point is that washrooms are located on the second floor.

Everything tasted good, the flavours ok, fast and the price honest. Only the samosas (2 pieces) at £5.45 are out of the market. Definitely good but the samosa too expensive.

Excellent curries, very friendly service in a character house just off the main road. Recommended by a good friend and will definitely return. Very quiet when we went for a Friday night, probably as the start of summer holiday time, so if you liked a buzzy atmosphere wouldn't have been a good choice but for us it was irrelevant and usually busier according to a regular visitor.

Food is amazing here! I have eaten in a few times and get take away frequently. Quality is always excellent. Staff are very kind.

This was such a delightful place. The food was delicious and the service excellent. I'll definitely return and would recommend them also as a takeaway. It's on a side street so even though you're in a busy area it is very tranquil. It was a treat to catch a glimpse of the kitchen where you could see food being prepared and cooked from scratch.

Busy on a week night, tasty food.

This is a fantastic little restaurant in Greenwich. We went yesterday on a Friday evening. For starters we only had popadoms, drinks and yogurt squid rings. Those were tasty. The mains as you see in the photo were plain naan, pishwari naan, pilau rice in addition to a mixed grill which was excellent with soft meat, and the succulent lamb bhuna. Staff were polite and leave you alone. Reasonably priced. I would recommend and would go back to the place.

The restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere. I came here with my colleague and friend, in 27/03/24. We were treated to two wonderful starters, the Lamb momo and the cutlets. Greeted by friendliest staff. Korma was brilliant with the Keema rice, Tikka Masala, and Peshawari. 5/5 First time,recommend it to friends, colleagues Partners 😏 and family.

The food was below average. The momos were the worst,thick layer of refined flour with next to no fillings , don't turn up to the restaurant expecting taste , the curries were below average.SCAMing customers with fake NEPALESE FOOD.

My son & I visited 3 East Greenwich Restaurants during our our stay over the last 2 weeks & all 3 were excellent. The Gurkha's Inn is about a 5 minute walk from The River Ale House which specialises in ever changing cask beers. This was my 4th visit to the GI over the past 2 years or so & the food & service were excellent on each occasion. Be sure to try their Lamb Momo Starters.

Heard mixed reviews about this restaurant but decided to try it, my expectations were exceeded. Clean restaurant with good service . I tried the chicken and vegetable momo £6.50 and the mild Nepalese chicken with methi and coconut rice. Limited drinks menu but overall I recommend!

Beautiful ingredients put together well.Not snooty or pretentious.Really good food in generous proportions cooked and served with some of the most down to earth friendly and helpful front of house servers.Hard to beat as I can’t think of a single negative point to make.I’ll try anything but my guest is vegetarian and there is plenty of choices for both.

I came with my family last Saturday. The food was really delicious and the service was fantastic. I really like the chicken chilly dry fry.

I haven't seen an employee who is so bad and rude in my life. Yesterday we went there to eat with friends, it was very hot inside, we asked them to turn on the air conditioner and also said two portions of Momo and a portion of dessert. Bangladesh male employee (in his 40s) asked if you don't order the main course. After saying that we do not want the main course, he shook his hand and said something. He also closed the air conditioner after that. I wonder, every one should say the main course? We just went there because we were curious about momo. I will never come to the restaurant where there is a disrespectful employee. I do not recommend anybody.

Worst Indian food I have ever tried. We ordered lamb Korma, butter chicken and Biryani everything was disappointing and the food arrived after an hour!!!

Our order was delivered extremely late, it took nearly two hours to receive the food. We had no contact from the restaurant to let us know it would be late and when we tried calling them to ask where it was no one answered the phone. When the food did finally arrive everything was cold and one of our items was missing. We had to go to the shops to buy rice to go with our meal and then had to cook everything again to reheat it. I requested a refund on the justeat website and the restaurant declined the refund, in spite of the late arrival, poor quality and missing items (that we then had to pay for again to get from somewhere else). Justeat has removed the option to contact them via message or phone and there is nowhere to dispute the rejected refund request. Terrible service.

I always order from this restaurant as the food is always good. However the prices have gone up and I was disappointed with the amount of meat that was in my lamb biriani this time 😞

Visited this restaurant on 3rd June 2023. From the moment we arrived the service was excellent without being intrusive. After ordering drinks the staff were happy to give us plenty of time to look at the menu and didn't rush us at all. The food was absolutely delicious and the staff were great. If you haven't been here what are you waiting for.
