Burgers are good, albeit a little bit pricey - typical of the area. Service was attentive without being overbearing - just right!

Discovered Maxwell's Bar whilst in London for the Landmark half marathon. It's a lot bigger than it looks from the outside and has some seating upstairs. The food was delicious, and considering where we were in London, the pricing was good value. Definitely one to remember!

This place was great! It was my daughters birthday and everyone was so kind. The food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere was super welcoming! I would 100 percent go here again. Freak shakes are to die for!

What an amazing spot! Incredible food at reasonable prices, coupled with a laid-back atmosphere. But above all, the service is exceptional. I recently celebrated my birthday there with friends, and the staff surpassed all expectations. A huge shoutout to Zoe and (if memory serves me right) Kate—these two ladies were absolutely outstanding, and they made our time there truly unforgettable!

Really spot on. We popped in for dinner, our waitress Magdalena was lovely, the food came out quickly and was piping hot. We left utterly stuffed and wondering what we had done ordering so much food! Of you are looking for a decent burger or ribs in central London you could do a lot worse. We went back! It's still brilliant, lovely staff, decent decor. We left overly full and very happy! Thanks again.

Another visit to Maxwell's after a request from my son whilst on a visit to London. The service was fantastic from entering the restaurant right until we left. The food was lovely and served promptly. Nothing was too much trouble. Polite, friendly staff but a special thanks to Saff and Diana for you great service and hospitality throughout our visit. Will definitely be back on our next visit to London.

Popped in for some early dinner again the other day, absolutely delighted they managed to sqeeze us in during such a busy hour for them, only to be served by the most helpful and lovely waitress, Isabella I do believe was her name. After recent refurbishments the restaurant provided a charming atmosphere upstairs. The food was outstanding and the customer service was to match! I shall definitely be visiting more :)

Wandered in to this little gem whilst entertaining my amazing children who seem determined to help me spend my retirement funds before I can even consider retirement! Although tempted by the crazy cocktails, we opted for a selection of milkshakes and burgers. To be brutally honest, the milkshakes are more like a dessert than a drink and whilst my little darlings struggled with their burger, chips and milkshake, I powered on like a champ, seizing the initiative and taking the opportunity to taste all three of the gargantuan shakes whilst relishing the bangin' tunes and amazing atmosphere. In summary, a great burger restaurant with an absolutely amazing sideline of milkshakes.... Or should that be a Fantastic milkshake bar which also sells burgers. Whilst the food, drink, musak and service are amazeballs, you do need to book... Whilst walk-ins were available, the number of disappointed parents and the look of absolute rejection as they walk away dejected does test your heart strings....

The burgers are excellent. I also had the house salad which was beautifully dressed alongside the smokehouse burger that's absolutely fabulous. There was a slight mix up with my order and they apologised and gave me free skin on fries as compensation. Generally though, the service was not particularly quick and they automatically add service to your bill so felt I couldn't remove it!

A great find, very reasonably priced especially during happy hour. 3 adults, 2 children and a selection of drinks for under £150, I didn't think it was possible in London

Friendliest faces in London!! We had had a long journey and got into the Covent garden area around 10 pm which led us out to seek food around 10:30 when most everything was closing. I wanted to hang out in a British pub but didn’t realize they do not allow teens after 9 pm(?!). When we arrived at Maxwell’s we were lured by the neon lights but I fully expected to be turned away bc everything was closed or closing. We received the warmest, genuine welcome from the hostess, excellent service from our server (whose name I was too tired to get). The music was a bit too loud for conversation but the patrons and workers were enjoying and singing along so it made it fun, so while I didn’t mean to seek out an American restaurant in London, the experience was just awesome and the people better and nicer than in our American restaurants at home. Food was very good, too! Everyone loved their meals and the paddington drink was DELICIOUS!

Friendly, close service and providing us with everything to be well. Not to mention the food, possibly the best ribs we have ever had.

Very cool location! Delicious food, great cocktails and rocking music. All in all, absolutely worth a visit. The waitresses were all very nice and accommodating.

Been coming here for years, even since the beginning in Hampstead. Consistently good food, ample size portions. Generous Happy Hour times 12-5pm. The new refurb is a great improvement. Always look forward to my next visit.

We went to Covent Square, not knowing exactly what to expect. While we didn't spend much at the hundreds of booths and stores, we did find a newly renovated restaurant with great food. The Sampler Board was quite enough for we 3 tired wanderers. Well, with the seared Broccoli and a Coke Float added on. We sat outdoors under the canopy so we could enjoy our best weather day of the week we were in Southern England. The reason for the 4 on atmosphere is the 6 young hooligans smoking weed right outside our covered area.

Used to really like this place, but yesterday, I felt the service was lacking some what. Atmosphere not so good and music, I felt, was a bit too loud. Probably won't visit again, which is disappointing 😔

First time visiting, the food was fantastic. Good portion sizes and cooked well. Reasonably priced as well. Atmosphere and design of restaurant very good and isn't 'cheesy American diner', more upmarket diner vibes. Staff were friendly enough but could be more enthusiastic and welcoming but our waitress seemed new so could just be down to that. Overall a good experience and would definitely visit again!

Food was not good at all overprice. I went here for the cheesebomb and the lady on the phone said they can still do it, but my waiter told me no and made me feel like I’m stupid. Service was awful took 15 minutes for someone to come up to me. Do not take your money here!

Straightforward American style burger and BBQ restaurant. Good range of options with very pleasant and friendly staff.

Food excellent and service good except the sharp practice. Ordered a pink gin & tonic. When the bill turned up they charged me £8 for the gin (they had one at £6.50,which he neer tld me and carged me fr the ost expensive). Also £4.00 for an ( unrequested) double and a reasonable £1.00 for tonic. £13.00 total. When challenged about the double was told 'double is their standard unless you request otherwise'. Total con all round. Beware of sharp practices. Eat here, but be wary. They also added 12.5% Service charge. A bit steep for effectively a good quality burger joint in my opinion. But everyone to their own. Good luck.

We love Maxwells but first time on a Saturday night. Busy but well organised until the fabulous front of house manager clearly went on a break - everything then slowed right down. The waitress who cleared our starters asked if we wanted desserts!! Had to remind her we hadn’t had our mains. Food was good as always but great staff just lift this venue. Paid the tip as everyone lovely despite it being a bit erratic. Will go back.

Nicely decorated new premises, friendly staff but the service was a bit haphazard. Waited ages for ketchup and mayo and ages for second drink. Feel £3:45 for a diet coke is a bit steep. Why do we not have free refills in this country like in the U.S. ? We did get the 2nd coke free and the staff redeemed themselves with a brownie and ice cream Birthday surprise for my son. Hopefully it's just teething problems for the new venue and things will run smoother in the future.

Had a great time here as we were celebrating my baby first Birthday. It’s nice of them to bring Birthday cake for her. We got the 50%off food bill offer but we didn’t understand why they charged us extra for kid’s dessert as it’s included in the kids set menu. The kids menu is for main+ side and dessert but we got charged £4.5 extra. And the staff didn’t mention that otherwise we wouldn’t order kid’s dessert as we ordered huge sundae to share.

The refurb is lovely and restaurant now looks bigger. Food and service excellent. House cocktails good value. Have been eating here since they began in Hampstead and followed them to Covent Garden. Love the burgers and all their food. On this visit had Halloumi Fajitas, which were really tasty. Highly recommend this place for singles, couples and families. Unfortunately they don’t allow dogs.

Our first trip to Maxwells since it’s refurbishment and the food and service is just as good! The food was great and the staff always polite, had a lovely evening at our favorite American diner!

The staff were amazing and spent a great detail of attention towards us and my mum was even given a flower for Mother’s Day which was such a sweet touch. The food was great and would definitely be coming back again.

Great venue for a birthday celebration with the family, especially younger teens. Staff are very attentive and helpful.

The staff were very friendly but made several mistakes with our order. It was only for two people and giving chips instead of salad and putting cream on things when we specified no cream due to autism/sensory issues left us feeling like we weren’t being listened too. It wasn’t that busy so maybe an off day as our visits are usually much better. The food was very nice. It’s had a makeover but it’s not that different so my daughter felt quite comfortable returning. We will be back as despite the mistakes, we had a nice time.

So we used to love the original Hampstead Maxwells, back in the day. Im afraid the new King Street offering was a let down. The service was ok , staff did try to look after us, but no ambience at all in there at lunchtime. The fried food was terrible, but other dishes were marginally better.’ Value for money was ok, but I was really put off by the view downstairs of the kitchen where conditions for the cooks looked terrible.! I cannot recommend or return. Guys look at Hard Rock and learn .

Amazing reopening! Went back to maxwells for the first time since they reopened and everything was 10/10. Food was great, portion size was excellent as well. The ribs are my favourite here and wipe out all competition in the area! Celebrated my 21st here yesterday and it was quality (: would recommend.

A nice moment but nothing more. The place is nice, the food too. But we expect better. The prices are a little high but in the Covent Garden district which is touristy it is understandable.

Stopped by Sunday evening and had a great night. Our server, Isabella was super smiley and attentive, the music was on point and the cocktails were amazing! Well worth a visit

Really lovely staff, interacted well with the kids, they were thrilled with the "magic" cups for their water, and the free pudding for my 9 year olds birthday made her day! We were sat upstairs and it was a lovely atmosphere. Felt like staff couldn't do enough for us. Will definitely come back the next time we do a theatre trip!

Fantastic experience here. Easy process to book a table for a Saturday afternoon at peak time. Mentioned on the booking that it was my wife's birthday, it was a really nice touch that they immediately recognised it. The front of house staff were great, and shown to the table promptly. Food was really very good, my children enjoyed there food also. Burgers, and philly-cheese steak - very tasty! Great milkshakes. The Maxwell's lager was good, not to strong so good for a lunch time pint, great choice of cocktails. Prices were not too bad at all. The serving staff were brilliant, and came out with a special birthday dessert which was really appreciated and made our experience special.

We have visited several times before while in. London. On this visit the food was sub-standard. The steak dish at £26 not worth the money. Steak received very fatty, extremely thin and something that resembled a supermarket purchase. Very dissatisfied.

Buzzing American diner in Covent Garden. Got 50% off mains. Thought £9+ for starter ribs x4 was a bit pricey. Chilli burger was nice but can never understand why they lave the plate half empty. Some salad on coleslaw would be a nice touch.

Amazing service from the Team at Maxwells. We ordered the salmon and fish finger sandwich. Good size portions and value for money. The salmon was cooked just right.

Great service, great food and everything arrived quickly

Food seemed over priced for what it was. The nacho’s had a greasy taste to them, actually everything did. The ribs only coming with coleslaw is bizarre and it cannot be swapped for another side - dairy allergies??? Also considering they’ve only just reopened, expected the toilets to be clean but they didn’t smell or look good

We attended the soft opening and found the experience very good. The new decor is perfect. The waiter was new but sweet - he needed to relax more. Everybody was welcoming. My assistance dog enjoyed the experience too as he slept most of the time. Good luck

We had a great time at Maxwell's. Because it's newly reopened we got the 50% off food deal, which was great! The food portions were big and very yummy. Think that if it was full price, it would have been on the pricey side, but for us, it was great to have 50% off food. It was the 2nd day starting work for our server, so there was a bit back and forth with our order. They thought fries came with fajitas... ordered the tabasco chicken tenders and they thought it's not on the menu... ordered ribs started but ended up with the main. The manager was great and said we can keep the main ribs and just pay for start price - honestly we have our actual main, we did not even finish the ribs... Our experience was great otherwise, everyone was lovely and we understand that it takes time for someone new to get the grips with things. The cocktails were amazing - would recommend.

We were thrilled to dine at Maxwell’s on their reopening night Wed 28th Feb. Maxwell’s interior was fantastic before but the upgrade has improved it even more - we particularly loved the cosy booths! The same fabulous staff greeted us - special shout outs to Kate, Sophia, Sadie and Isabella for welcoming us back so warmly, and suffice it to say the same fabulous food and atmosphere still remains too. And we’re very much looking forward to visiting again for Mother’s day. Thanks Maxwell’s, glad you’re back and you certainly are a ‘sure cure for our hunger’!

Very nice and well furnished place, we found ourselves celebrating New Year's Eve dinner, the place was furnished, and in one corner they were also setting up an area with a console and I presume live music, we went out to see the fireworks However. The dinner was really good, but the menu is mainly made up of burgers, excellent but there was no real "dinner" menu, discreet but well presented cocktails.

Average American burger restaurant, good atmosphere.

We went on new years eve. The food was delicious and the workers despiste of the day it was they were super súper nice. The ambient and the music were great. You could also see the workers got alone really well between them. If we go back to London we would definetly go again.

Just amazing, EVERYONE were so happy in there! I loved the staff, the were super friendly and kind. Also, the way they treated us was amazing. The food? Oh my gosh, definitely I will come back again, Just with a plate I felt super full. The pieces are big enough for one person, or if you don’t eat that much, for two. I’m feeling hungry just remembering the food that I ate there!

This place is ok if youre hungry, nothing special. The chilli beans is edible and good portion. Wouldnt recommend the sweetcorn fritters, the corn kernals were sticking to our teeth - strange! Service was slow.

Great Burger and Rib Restaurant in the Heart of Covent Garden. Friendly efficient and Slick service. Great choice of Food and an abundance of Cocktails to choose from. This is our third visit and can’t wait to come back
