Salimos de los caminos turísticos para probar estos rollos de salchichas. Vale la pena el tiempo y el esfuerzo. Pudín negro y haggis, cerdo tradicional y una carne picante se comieron entre los dos. Absolutamente delicioso. Bonitos rellenos gruesos y apretados. Nada de escatimar en las carnes. No demasiado grande, justo. 10 libras por tres, más que contento.

Last year, mum and I found Max Bakes. Mum had haggis and black pudding and I had feta and spinach. I had never had haggis or black pudding (always put off by the ingredients 🤦♀️) I tried mums and vice versa...both were delicious! This year we planned to hunt Max Bakes down, worrying he may not be here this year, and much to our delight we found him in the exact same spot! (later we found out he is a permanent fixture not just for The Fringe) We order two haggis and black pudding rolls and they were as good as we remembered! Two very happy travellers 😁

Do yourself a favour and tuck into the Goumet Feast that is on offer at Max Baker (with this name, he was destined to go into baking, surely?)! There are several different sausage rolls on offer, including vegetarian and vegan options. I went for the Spicy Beef one, and not only was it easily the VERY BEST sausage roll I have ever had in my life, it was also filling. Not only that, but his awesome van is parked right alongside Bar Bados, the funkiest reggae bar in town. They will let you bring your sausage rolls inside their Carribean themed area to eat, whilst supping a delicious cocktail. "I love Max's Sausage Rolls. Put another one in the oven baby"

Without a shadow of a doubt the best sausage roll I have ever had. It is also comfortably the most expensive I have ever had at £3.50, but it is a price I am happy to pay considering they are large in size, clearly use good quality ingredients and are very filling.

I recently stumbled across Max Bakes and I am very glad I did. I sampled their 'Pork, Apple and Cheddar' sausage roll and it was outstanding. The pastry was buttery and flaky and the filling was not just generous, but also well seasoned and juicy. My wife had the 'Chicken and Bacon' which she also gave top marks. And as a devout carnivore it pains me to admit that even their vegetarian/vegan options also looked tremendous. We will definitely be back!

Nice vibe but I'd like a real cup when I have a coffee, not environmental friendly. I'd also like to use a toilet but the staff tell me the place is not a restaurant/cafe. You could have fooled me. The staff told me they don't have one and dont need one as they are predominantly carry-out. Surely an eating establishment should have a toilet? Apparantly not! Where do your staff go? Won't be back.

Delicious meal, good value for money. Haggis to discover. Warm welcome. I recommend it.

This was a wonderfull eating experience as the Magnum excelled with the food , the service , atmosphere and general ambience which were excellent. We had the corner table and were immediately struck by the professional and freindly service from all staff , the dining room is cosy and intimate and was full for the entire time we were there but the staff werent hurried and we recieved the food with plenty of time between courses so didnt feel rushed . The star of the show though is the food which was truly wonderfull , I had the cullen skink to start , the wagyu burger and then the sticky toffee pudding to finish , we then retired to the well stocked bar for a few cocktails and a blether with the locals and staff , an excellent place for a great meal away from the touristy masses , highly recommended.

Everything about the Scotch Malt Whisky Society, Queen Street, Edinburgh is excellent. There is a public bar on the ground floor but as members we used the Members Room on the first floor. The staff were excellent and really knew their stuff when it came to whisky. The food was also excellent, and the atmosphere was warm, inviting and friendly. Not too formal, the whole experience was exceptional.
