I always walk by and never see the place open much anymore

Paid 12 pounds for haddock and chips. It was very good quality but the average price is more like 10 in Scotland so it felt like a rip off. There’s a lovely restaurant along the road where you pay 19 for the same.

Food was colddue to it being late,no effort made to reheat or cook it again fresh.all in all i would not recommend this place,a waste of £14

Food mid range - my partner and I both had fish was at best warm. Staff not at all friendly - hardly bothered to acknowledge us.

A little gem of a takeaway at Queensferry.

Pizza was very tasty, everything else was garbage. Chicken fried steak was plain and small. The chips were soggy and the chicken wings were not good. Lady working the counter was rude and wasn’t even using gloves. Touched the food with her bare hands. I’d give it 1 star but the pizza really was that good.

Very expensive. 20 quid for two fish and some chips. It was tasty but daylight robbery. Wont be back. No decent chippies in Queensferry unfortunately

Always go to Maurizio's when I want a chippy, these guys are great. Rapid service and great food. The drivers are nice, too.

Very fresh and pipping hot fish and chips.. we also tried the fried shrimps and it was delicious. The staff is honest about the freshness of their products.

The fish was terrible it was just batter really bad never had a worse piece of fish ever

Had lunch with a couple of friends of mine here to visit Edinburgh. We really enjoyed our food, the quality was great and the staff very friendly. Definitely recommend it 😉

Pakora’s were overcooked and very dry. Chips soggy and tasteless. Haggis was good though so not all wasted

Chips where dry, fritters the same. Chicken burger with no salad or sauce in a dry brioche bun. Put my own salad on it . Haggis fritters very good

Pizza delivered folded over and stuck to the box so was inedible. Delivery driver must have had it on its side. Couldn't contact takeaway because their number didn't work.

Visited here yesterday 6/6/24, the older gentleman taking the order was lovely, who always made the food too, got a large haddock with chips and curry, which was 2 bits of fish, was absolutely amazing, best I've had for a while, and for £11.20 I think it's really good value especially when you look at the area

Come to Forth Bridge for an outing. It’s a great fast food nearby. The fish is very fresh and has no fishy smell. The service is also very friendly. It’s worth recommending.

Best pizza in Queensferry! Never had the jalapeño on the pizza with pepperoni but quality of food was of amazing taste and standard so didn’t bother phoning for the sake of a few jalapeños

Very tasty fish special eaten! Freshly prepared local fish. Highly recommended with great views of the bridge.

NOT OPEN Me and my partner fancied a nice chippy with a view and we had seen that this was meant to be the best in the queensferry area so we made the 40 minute drive here, we ended up arriving to the place completely closed. Nothing has been said on the Facebook about it being shut and couldn’t see any other info. Luckily another chippy in the area was open so we went there instead and it wasn’t a completely wasted trip but wanted to warn others incase they have the same happen.

Thought the Special fish was excellent. Wife's standard fish she said was a bit greasy but we were early in the evening and that wasn't fresh.

Lovely food and lovely staff. This is the second year that I've taken a large group of students from Edinburgh Uni to Maurizio's and the communication in advance was great, and the food even better. Thank you for accommodating us. We'll be back again.

I left review for this on the wrong place earlier. Was here on the day the burry man was here, older woman was snippy and chips were dry, hard and not very hot. Yesterday, however, the man was lovely and efficient even though completely by himself. Food was average but at least hot.

Really disappointing fish and chips, not worth the money. Dry, cold and tasted like they had been sat out all day. Batter also looked orange and as though the oil was really poor quality or hadn’t been changed in a decade. Chips cold also. King rib could have been frisbeed out to sea and would happily have taken out a fisherman it was so cold and rock hard. Good thing the view from the bench at the front is amazing

Decent Suppers....got stung for a can of juice for 1.70 though....why do places charge that for a can..daylight robbery

Wish I could give more than 5 stars for maurizios, amazing,friendly and quality food,my family came up for a visit and we headed to South Queensferry for a walk, asked numerous residents to recommend place to get fish and chips and we weren't disappointed one bit, such a friendly atmosphere from the first moment,so please please support local shops and pop in for delicious fry delight ********* 😊 Steven from haddington (east lothian)

Very good find, cheap fish and chils, very good gelato, loved the kinder bueno, and they had also fererro , biscof, jaffa cake etc, recommend.

Hi, sadly, a big disappointment. Possibly the worst fish and chips I ever had. The fish was dry and the coating greasy. Same with chips - dry and greasy, and they had aweird aftertaste (mushy peas). I didn't finish the meal and felt super bad about throwing the food away.

Used to be great. Sadly, the fish and chips we had the other night left a lot to desire. It must have been because it was towards the end of the day (or maybe not) but the fish was dry, stale and cold. The batter wasn't tasty at all. Chips weren't better. You could tell they'd been on the counter for a while as they were dry and the only thing I could taste was the old oil in which they were cooked. Really disappointed to have to write this review but after many years dropping by every time we're in town i don't think we will be back.

Loved coming to this chippy but won't be back. No taste other than grease of the food. The sauce doesn't even make it taste any better. Horrible layer left in my mouth. Juice is very over priced.

Original Fish & Chips - frisch zubereitet und absolut schmackhaft. Gute Beratung und man bekommt viele Soßen zum Testen. Große Portionen für 8£ - danach ist man Pappsatt! Sehr tolle Location mit einer Mega Aussicht (zwischen den Häusern) 🤣

Went in on a Thursday about 7pm. Wasn't busy, only us. Orderd fish as wanted something cooked fresh. I had a fish supper and my wife had chips. Unfortunately the food had a burnt taste to it and was not enjoyable.

woman on the phone was very rude and didn’t give us the time of day. all she did was shout and argue with us. will never be ordering from here again. disgusting behaviour

Got a king rib supper and i asked if it was lying for ages and he said no,cos he just opened the shop,but there is no way this was a fresh king rib,it was dry batter was terrible,it was like a reheat from night before,not recomended atol,chips were ok and hot

If you want fish and chips or a nice ice cream, in beautiful settings, this is the place to go. A decent fair price along with Great friendly staff, good sized portions of fresh cooked fish with a lovely view of the fourth, and it’s bridges. Well worth a visit 👍

Gets super busy due to its location here but very fast service. They also sell ice creams on the right hand side as you enter although they are a bit pricey. Food was fine and loved the fast service. Plenty of places to go sit with a take out from here.

What happened....used to be very nice fish and chips big portions...now its low portions greasy...very disappointed...was my favourite now i wont go back ...used to be the highlight of the trip to queensferry...

Service took a long time and I had to call over to someone to go to the ice cream counter. I asked which had dairy in them as I knew the sorbet didn't but wasn't sure what the vegan ice cream was made of. The answer I got was "all have dairy" which I knew was wrong since sorbet doesn't!

The chips were disgusting..refried and rock hard

This place has rapidly went downhill. I paid £19 for 2 fish suppers last night and the batter was burnt, the fish was sub standard and the chips tasted of fried pizza, never be back. This used to be the best in South Queensferry.

Never came across staff so rude. On mothers day evening went with my mom and my 9 year old to grab some food to take away to sit outside and enjoy the views. Never ordered Fish and Chips before so I asked the lady at the till whats the difference between single and supper I was told one comes with Chips the other doesn't. Ordered 2 suppers and one single, then I noticed them putting 6 fish fillets for my order so quickly went to speak to the same lady and explained that the reason I asked about portions sizes earlier was to avoid this kind of situation and that I'm actually only wanting 3 fish fillets and 2 portion of chips. The server then said he 'can't do anything right now'. I asked if he can refund me the money and I'll place slightly smaller order. That's when the manager comes up and says I can't get refund because he will need to contact their card provider and request money to be refunded, when I said its okay and I can wait, he then came up to till touchpad screen and started tapping on it so hard, I'm actually surprised he didn't break it. He then proceeded asking me 'what I want?' I explained its just 3 🐟 and some chips so he put new order through the till and asked me to check if its correct, surprisingly it was only 2-3£ cheaper than my previous order that was basically twice as big. I eventually ordered 1 supper and 1 single, leaving us with 3 🐟 and one portion of chips to share and it was more than enough for us :) ohh and I had just under 10£ refunded with the biggest attitude I've ever experienced as a customer. Food was okay, chips were really nice, fish was a bit to greasy for my liking, lovely brown sauce but awful watery garlic sauce.

16:55 Sunday 27th visit. There is a sign saying to ask if you had any allergies, so I asked if there was any gluten free food to be bluntly told by the girl serving “ No, nothing “. This I can live with; it’s my normal life when trying to eat out. This is not the reason for a one star review. Whilst in the queue for about 10 mins , it was the lady aggressively chewing gum whilst serving food to customers during all this time ! 🤮. Disgusting practice when serving food ! If my family had not been so keen to have food , I would have walked away.

Drove over half an hour to get here and was worth the trip. Lovely fish supper. Gorgeous crispy battered fish and tasty chips. Nothing beats fish n chips looking at the bridges 😁

Best chippy in Scotland don't mind the half hour drive when the foods so good and a great view. Highly recommend the home made tomato sauce they make also just out of this world.

Lovely place for a break when you're visiting South Queensferry. The fish & chips was scrumptious and really good portion sizes. Staff were very friendly, too. We'll be back!
