The food we just had was as good as ever. We've been coming here since 2015, this is our 10th visit. The soup was very tasty, all meals were delicious and well presented. Staff as always were friendly and welcoming.

My husband and I called in late one evening during the past week and sampled their apple tart and tea. The apple tart had a shallow filling but was nonetheless very tasty but sweet. I would recommend that the staff be careful of the music they are playing in an establishment where children are. One song that got playing for too long had very inappropriate lyrics. I was about to bring this to their attention when they must have realized it themselves and turned it off. The apple tart was priced at £2.95 per slice which I felt did not equate to good value for money given the size.

Maud's Parlour is ideal for friends and families, as they serve food an soft drinks to suit all ages from wraps to ice cream, specialty hot and cold drinks, I really like their Cappuccino, my grand daughter hot chocolate with marshmallows.and grandson with sprinkles, lovely place to take the weans for a treat. There is a council payable car park beside Maud's with ample parking and the town shops are within walking distances.

I have had the pleasure of being in this establishment on a number of occasions with my wife only to find the food to be really tasty on all occasions. There is also a great atmosphere very relaxed with friendly staff who go out of their way to make you feel at home. great choice of breakfast, lunch, soups, sandwiches, and wonderful cakes and pastries to choose from much of which had been home baked, very good value for money and definitely worth a try if ever in Magherafelt! Well Done Mauds!

Have been her for lunch a few times and it has been busy but lovely. I had the shepherds pie, which was clearly homemade and very taste. Service is very good and the staff are very friendly and caring, particularly with children. I would visit here again for lunch, plus the ice cream is good to.

I often go to mauds for lunch and coffee. I asked Anita would she do me breakfast for around 10 people the morning of my wedding. She had a range of fry stuff, fruit, breads and other things. It was lovely and we had loads left over. Really helped us out when everything was so busy that morning. I would most defiantly recommend mauds for there friendliness and there food.

Visited this ice cream cafe with my elderly friend after visiting my parents graves. Usually a great pick me up. A young pleasant girl served us, however never in all my life have I been served up such a small portion of ice cream, I asked if she was joking me, sadly not it would seem. She did offer to give me a another bit !, I just said how disappointed I was and that I would never return to that cafe again.

I went here for lunch with my son for a treat. There is a good choice of food to choose from ranging from snacks to a more substantial meal. The massive array of fresh cakes to choose from for dessert were fantastic, the freshly made scones and wheaten bread looked magnificent also! All this along with a fantastic choice of Maud's ice cream, we really were spoilt for choice! The service was quick and friendly, and the servers all made a fuss of my son, which made him feel special as well. A great little gem in the middle of Magherafelt, and with the newly extended opening hours, more accessible then with the former owners.

This should be an ideal coffee shop with options for lunch. It has potential but needs to work harder on their menu and professionalism re: service and friendliness.

A lovely place to call in for coffee, homemade cakes and tasty food. The decor is warm and inviting and the staff friendly. We tried the homemade carrot and coriander soup with wheaten bread that was literally just out of the oven and cooled! FAB! A large slice of lemon drizzle cake and a lovely brownie went down well with our cappuccinos. Service was friendly despite the large lunchtime crowd and no rush out. Will be back!

Having been quite a few times I have usually come away with a bad experience in terms of service. Firstly there does not seem to be any system in place if you want to sit in and and ice cream - you are left standing whilst those who are having an ice cream 'to go' are served and once they're ALL served, someone will come and ask 'is someone seeing to you?' - hello!!!!! Not unless it's the invisible man! I always struggle with the fact that they do lot cover the traybakes, Cakes and pastries and the flies etc can land on the food..Perhaps this is why the hygiene rating isn't great!? When we were in this time, the manager/owner (we think) was too busy chatting outside on his phone to worry about customers!!! Dreadful. This place is busy and has so much potential but the standards need to improve, even the mugs are not as nice as they were (and smaller!) and it's a shame as Magherafelt needs somewhere like this but only for taking the kids to it, I would not choose to go here. Other places in the town offer better service and higher overall standards in my opinion.

On my visit it wasn't very busy so there was pretty much no excuse for the toliet to be in the state it was! Horrible to say the least. The coffee didn't look like coffee... More like tea, honestly do not know what they were thinking serving such low quality coffee. I asked for a crepe, and they refused saying it would mean they would have to turn on the machine and it wasn't busy enough to do that.... And would take to long to heat up... I've used one before, and they only take 1 min (if even) to hear up. Simply say you have ran out or something, it wouldn't sound as bad, so then I got a ice cream Sunday instead which On the up side.... Was good!...

Lettuce & tomatoe was good tho lol child's potatoe pie with slight mince crumb was severely in edible, overall poor selection, poor quality, poor service, won't be returning!

I used to really enjoy meeting family or friends for coffee and cake at Mauds. I find myself checking first if there are numerous teenagers sitting in having ice-cream. They seem to be commonplace here now and the noise and bad manners from them is unbearable. The staff seem to be aware of this but as is usual these days do nothing about asking them to keep the noise level down or leave! I am now looking for a place to have a coffee in Magherafelt with a more pleasant atmosphere :)

This is a lovely coffee shop - very nicely decorated with friendly staff. Food is nice and the pastries are lovely. I've been here a couple of times - both around lunch time. One area for improvement is small but important - scones! One time at lunch no scones were left and the other time only a couple were left and they are quite small. Please have more scones and make them bigger!

Warm, friendly service, great snacks and ice cream, and very good tea, coffee, and hot drinks. This is your BEST choice for a coffee shop in Magherafelt. There is a variety of seating - large table for a large group, smaller tables, a little outdoor seating, and two soft, comfortable chairs in the corner.I was in there a few times in the summer and timed my arrival once shortly after opening and was rewarded with a freshly baked warm scone with icing - fantastic accompaniment to my pot of tea, always served with a nice cup and saucer. It is a fairly busy place, which is a good sign, but there was always room to find a chair.Prices are reasonable.

I have not actually eaten any meals in the parlour - although I am a regular visitor mostly at the weekends. We tend to take the children here at the weekend as a treat - it is a lovely coffee shop/ice cream parlor where I could easily sit all day. The decor it lovely and they have a number of large tables which easily holds all the adults and kids. The ice cream is first class and the coffee is great - all which I think are very well priced.

The decor and location are good, but when I choose to eat out, I want it to be better than what I could make myself, but this was really basic. We ordered some toasted sandwiches, which were 2 slices of regular Hovis bread with some cheese and ham. The sandwiches were small and had no side salad, so why charge £4 in Magherafelt? I don't mind paying this kind of money, but at least try to improve the quality. We didn't have any cakes or ice-cream, but they all looked good. I don't plan to be back unless there is some improvement.

The Clarence has consistently sold the tastiest fish and chips in Ballyclare. I spoke with a delivery man for a local potato merchant, who claims to deliver the same type of spuds to all the nearby chip shops. Yet the difference in taste produced is incredible. However, The Clarence has always been first to increase the price of the menu and I remember saying I wouldn't buy a bag of chips if they went over £3.00 Then the owner priced his at £3.05.. Guess my response.. Now, you'd take the arm off a chip shop for a large chip for £3.00
