Always love the food here, the wraps are brilliant for lunch.

I had one of the best chicken wraps here, the bread they serve was so light and so good, that it enhanced the taste of chicken and the topping. Must try place, even if you don't want to have the wraps here, you can still but the bread which is very soft and light to eat.

Nice for a quick lunch while shopping or visiting bristol.

Now overpriced, used to rate it but after waiting 10 minutes some friends of the staff turned up and went straight to front, so ended up waiting a further 10 minutes... Won't bother again.

Mad delicious, super fresh, and great portions. You can literally see them making the flat breads there and then. Worth the lunchtime queues which never take long!

Fuimos a la marina hoy por primera vez. Estaba buscando buena comida callejera y mientras caminábamos por el mercado había un montón de lugares para comer que se veían muy bien. Cuando llegamos a matina es un agujero en la pared tipo montado. Pero de todos los lugares tenía la cola más grande. Esto significó un buen giro, cocineros despertando duro y clientes entusiasmados. Teníamos envolturas de 8 libras cada una. Pan recién hecho de un tandoor. Comimos pollo y cordero kofta mix. Era barato, fresco, sabroso, grande y excelente. Viene con salsas, salchicha de col roja, salsa de chile y otros. Somos una especie de gente completamente cargada, así que no estamos muy seguros de qué más había allí. Excelente comida. Buena sensación. La configuración es muy higgledee cerdo pero no puede fallar la comida o el precio. Peter y Renee.

Food was lovely and healthy, the staffs are Nice and very friendly, my friend and myself were cold and asked if they do tea, the guy on the till offered us tea even though they don't sell it , it was a kind gesture, really enjoyed eating there💖

Justo al lado de la entrada este del mercado, esta es una unidad excelente y muy ocupada que vende comida callejera de Oriente Medio. Esta es la segunda o tercera vez que he estado aquí para conseguir panes naan rellenos para comer en la pezuña. Era un lunes a la hora de comer a finales de octubre. Cuando me uní a la cola, probablemente tenía 50 de largo, pero a pesar de que gran parte de la comida se ensambló en el pedido, no tuve que esperar más de 10 a 15 minutos. La comida aquí es de alta calidad, a precios competitivos, fresca y sabrosa.

Absolute 10/10 gold standard for Bristol street food and in a prime location for a couple of cans with friends and maybe strong lager cans in castle park I cannot recommend this place enough

THE BEST LAMB KEBAB WRAP IN BRISTOL. AMAZING. I got to try the Lamb, chicken and falafel wraps but the Lamb won my heart. If I eat too many, it might actually stop my heart. Lol. Kidding ofcourse. They give you this humongous wrap for 7 kwid, its like the size of a new born and its heavy cause they load it up with fresh marinated salads, meat, hummus and sauces of choice. Go get yourself some sensational wraps from Matina right now cause SHABBY SAID SO!!!

Middle Eastern delicious mixed chicken and mutton rolls 8 pounds is a bit expensive but can be very filling for one person If you are a girl, you may want to eat two together.

Though the line appeared long, it went quickly. We stood for less than 10 minutes. The balance of flavors between various sauces and meats was oddly reminiscent of Mexican mole, and I mean that in the best way. If I lived in Bristol, I’d eat here weekly.

Too pricey and rude lady server. the brothers are great and fine. Woman needs more training !

Amazing food. It is one of the best. However it got a bit expensive the last few years (around 30% increase) and there is not much seating apart from a table which is normally occupied and a few low stools opposite the place. Other than that their wraps are amazing!

A very busy joint in Bristol Centre. A bit disorganised. Food is ordered & paid at one counter. At the adjacent counter ( a different room), food is prepared & delivered. The guys preparing asking u again what’s it you ordered. I found this ridiculous. Was expecting it to be tasty as its Middle Eastern & I have lived in Qatar & expected same quality & taste. I would recommend that they add potato fries too to the wrap to make it tasty & less dry.

Lovley wraps and they manage the high demand with efficiently so don't be scared if u see a long queue.

Was craving a Matina wrap but annoyingly they don’t accept card anymore

If you walk around St Nick's Market at lunchtime, you will undoubtedly notice the smell of bbq meat and spices. It comes from this stall, and the food tastes even better than it smells! The lamb in particular was delicious, but the chicken was tasty, too, and they add a lot of vegetable and sauces. I found the meal very fresh, very filling, and good value for money. I'm only giving 4* because the the place was very disorganised, nobody in the queue knowing where to wait or when their turn would come, and because the stall seemed dirty overall.

It was excellent!!! Best halloumi bread of my life!! The bread is baked on site, in front of our eyes :) and the grilled halloumi yum

Excellent food. I ordered a chicken and lamb combo, and extra halloumi hoping it would be on the side. The lady at the front was a bit quiet in a loud street. The ingredients are fresh, clean, and flavorful. The chicken was juicy and soft. Halloumi was cooked well, really juciy. It added to the flavor of the sandwich. The bread seemed like Iraqi/Persian bread. Freshly cooked and you get to see everything being cooked in front of you. The restaurant is a bit disorganized though. I wanted a combo of chicken and lamb, with halloumi on the side to try out. After I ordered the lady told me to let them know in the front, so I waited in line. They asked me if I ordered halloumi but didn't ask further. Then when asked by a different guy, I let them know it's a chicken lamb combo, with halloumi on the side. Instead, I got a chicken halloumi sandwich, with extra halloumi.

Absolutamente delicioso. La verdura y el halloumi con envoltura de naan es mi favorito. ¡El calabacín sabía como nunca antes lo había probado! ¡Tanto sabor!

Bristol institution with lovely staff - once you’ve been to Matina every other wrap you have will pale in comparison

Was my favourite kebab place ever until today- I appear to have a large blob of mud/dirt in the kebab 😰😭 i could be wrong, please accept that caveat whilst chewing, my mouth was suddenly full of sand like grit, grinding my teeth. I look and assume it’s ground olive but rub between fingers and smell.. it’s like soil? Or dirt? In the carrot I think? I’m so confused but it’s made me feel so nauseous I’ve binned it The kebabs here are amazing but honestly I’m taken aback by this. It really looks, feels like soil/grit/dirt. It has no discernible flavour like olive would and no spice etc. it’s really really weird and I feel sick thinking it’s dirt I acknowledge it may very well be a legitimate ingredient - but it feels like gritty sand and this is an honest opinion - and perhaps the place will respond and I’ll adjust this review, I don’t want to disparage this place unfairly

Walking through Saint Nicholas market today we came across Matina. OMG it was so delicious! So glad we stopped and we will be back before moving on from Bristol…From the freshly made wrap, delicious meats cooked perfectly, salads to the sauces, all perfectly complimenting each element. Me alegro de que escuchamos como el mercado es increíble, y la envoltura que tuvimos de Matina (fuimos por cordero kofa) fue increíble. Sólo eran unas 8 libras, y amablemente lo cortaron para que pudiéramos compartir. Excelente relación calidad-precio, y muy sabroso.

Wonderful wraps and boxes served quickly and generously by a well trained team! Incredibly popular with office workers and holding its own against the fantastic array of delicious temptations in St Nicks Market. A well deserved favourite!

Prices are growing faster than the size of their wraps. Too much for the same thing they served in 2018! Used to less than £6.

Naan wrap, I’m in! We’d just arrived in Bristol and needed lunch. This place caught my eye, and the number of people eating their wraps meant it must be good. I had the chargrilled chicken wrap with “everything” and it did not disappoint. In hindsight, I might have gone without any of the spicy sauce, but it wasn’t overwhelming and, overall, it was a flavour sensation! My partner had the grilled veg in a wrap and thoroughly enjoyed that!

Stopped in at Matina on my way back to my hotel despite not really being hungry. As you walk up past St Nicholas market the amazing smell of the place just grabs you by the nose and you have to try it. Simple selection of authentic street food, served quickly and good value. The food is incredible, I had a wrap served in a freshly made naan type bread which was warm and light and delicious. The salad and sauces are amazing, just an explosion of taste. Genuinely one of the best things I've eaten in ages... If you're passing just go try it, you won't regret it!

It was pretty good. It’s a cash only place so please be prepared. There is a free cash machine nearby. Mixed lamb and chicken wrap was excellent. They bake fresh bread in the store. The size is big.

Flat bread and chicken cooked fresh over coals right before your very eyes - this place is the undisputed Prom King of the St Nicholas Market, and sometimes its snaking queue rather awkwardly snakes alongside the neighbouring stores which sadly for all involved do not also offer freshly-cooked flat bread and chicken. Instagrammable salad mountains greet you at the counter, and despite the lengthy queue it moves fast and the wait is always worthwhile. Budding local fraudsters will also be pleased to learn that the checkout process interestingly does not entail a physical ticket, and there are a solid few metres between when you pay and when the guy at the window asks you what you ordered. So payment is almost entirely reliant on both an honesty system and vigilante surveillance from those in the queue - the whole scene belongs in the opening montage of Ricky Gervais' The Invention of Lying.

This is terrific food. Tasty meat, great fresh salad, excellent sauces, and Naan bread to die for. Superb and great value. Would highly recommend.

Used to be great now only average. The price keeps going up while the quality and quantity go down. The wrap has got smaller and smaller and the choice of fillings has diminished.

Great value food but not to my taste.

Huge wraps and so tasty - recommended by my son's friend (age 11) - he has GREAT taste. The queue was long (and justifiably) but moved quickly. There were around six chefs working constantly on the wraps, salads, bread and rice. Wasn't hungry again all day :). Great value and great taste. Don't bother with Subway - get your footlong here - fresher and tastier by far. I've been to other establishments in St Nicks and around the city many are overpriced - this one isn't. Enjoy!

Oh man, I'm still dreaming about this wrap I had weeks later, the tastiest little street food in Bristol. You'd be crazy to miss them during a visit. Friendly, quick service.

I love matina with all my heart but I got two massive bits of the burnt grill bits in my wrap. Its rock solid and evidently burnt for a long time.

A must visit anytime I'm in Bristol. Good fast customer service. You get a lot for your money and you can see your food cooked in front of you.

Mixed chicken and lamb wrapped in freshly baked naan bread. All made fresh in front of you. Friendly staff who are always smiling Sensational. £8.30. The Red cabbage sculpture is a thing of beauty.

This place is just lush. I generally go for the halloumi salad box with rice and ‘everything’. All salads. All sauces. Cracking! All sauces are homemade and all salads chopped fresh daily. Just the best. Lunch fills you up all day and night !

The rice box is delicious. These guys are great, they are always smiling and friendly to the customers and the food portions are huge. I go here almost every week.

Passed Matina around lunchtime and the queue was enormous and the smells amazing. We came back later in the afternoon and had the most delicious chicken and lamb wrap. Great team doing the cooking, everything was fresh and cooked to order. Definitely a great find and we'll back next time we visit Bristol.

bought a mixed chicken and lamb wrap and a extra naan, shared between two and felt it was enough. Naan has a REALLY good texture, chewy and soft, has everything i would ever want a naan to be😌 fillings was great too, have a curry-ish flavour and a mix of different sauces. The dude that serves us was really positive, even helped us to cut it in half:) lovely food, would def come back for it

Two days in Bristol and me and the boys were so stoked we found this place. So tasty, really friendly service and full of flavour. Love this place.

Just came here after a long walk around Bristol and it was just superb. I knew it was a good choice from the moment I picked this place to go for lunch but it was way better than I expected. The ingredients and flavours were excellent and not even in London they are as authentic as Matina. Their staff was one of the most helpful and super nice people I have ever met in the hospitality industry, they also gave me a bag and a box to take the extra that we couldn't eat. Portions are excellent for the price and you won't be dissapointed at all with any of the items on their menu. I personally suggest the Mixed one as it gives you the best of both worlds (Chicken and Lamb) and the salad they use is fresh. Almost forgot to mention but I believe their sauces give their food an amazing unique touch as ai have not had the same sauce in other middle eatern restaurants/shops. It had the perfect mix betwen sweet and spicy.

Gorgeous mixed wrap, cooked fresh. We struggled to find somewhere to sit and eat it but found a place on grass in park. Worth a visit...be aware it started dripping from the bottom all over my dress so eat with caution. Sauces were all delicious

By far the best kebab in Bristol

It’s quite a spectacle to see these guys work. Big queue but I still only waited 10mins max. Freshly made naan in a clay oven and grilled meats and halloumi. Great choice of salads and sauces. If the weather is nice, take it to Castle Park and enjoy :)

Beautiful food, definitely would recommend if your in Bristol and you want something on the go. I had the mixed wrap and it was incredible, the bread was amazing, as was the salad and meat. 10/10

The naan bread tastes incredibly fresh and there’s so much flavour that goes into these compared to your typical kebab. Very good indeed!

Fabulous a must stop place in Bristol

Had to pop in here today on my way home from town as I couldn’t resist the aroma, my 1st visit and it was delicious. Really friendly staff.

The food is amazing!! We shared a mixed grill of lamb and chicken! Just fabulous.

Always busy at lunch time, queue wasn't too bad when I came at 12:45. Small but well cooked menu with a quick turnaround for getting your food. If you're a fan of middle eastern cuisine, you'll find a bargain here. Roughly about £8.20 for a wrap which includes so much in the way of sauces and vegetables on top of your chicken or lamb.

Ate here when browsing at the market. We had a chicken wrap which was delicious and well cooked being quite filling. Only complaint would be there was too much red cabbage.
